HELL YEAH I'M A BAND GEEK!! ...am I allowed to say 'hell' at these boards? ^_^;; Yes yes yes. I am a band geek. Band, really, is my life. And people know it! Instruments: French Horn (my baby!), Trumpet, Fluglehorn, Bass Guitar (I'm learning) and...uh...oh yeah! MELOPHONE! Tee hee, Marching Band is much fun. I can honk away on a recorder too, and pull off a scale on the Euphonium. Trombone is next. Dedication: Lets just say I'd do anything for band. I dropped Drivers Ed to get into another band class. I gave away my computer to go to one day of Band Camp. I have over 7 G's of instruments in my room. I own a F-horn tie. I was the only freshman in the Chamber Winds, last years...well, it was the higher of the two bands...I was the only student (and a freshman!) to play among HIRED PROFESSIONALS for the school musical. It was so scary, I could've wet myself. I didn't, thankfully. XD I'm Vice President of our band currently, and I've attended all our fundraising events as we work towards getting to New York. I ask for music books and valve oil for my birthday and christmas. I think that basically screams 'BAND GEEK'. I'd actually love to have a flourescent sign in my room that said that...that'd be so cool! Hehe, yeah, I also hang out with Katana in the morning, in the band room. I think I was one of the ones who chose it as 'the spot' for our posse. I have the tendency to sit right next to Struyker's door, and also to put up random music quotes on the chalkboard. And...I have that 'You Know You've Been In Band Too Long When...' list bookmarked somewhere...I'll never be in band too long! I go to school for band, talk about band when I'm home, and would rather be at band than at home! I can't say that I have my own band...though I could probably put one together if I really wanted to...

Hmmm...:: ponders the two:: The OB people seem to like simple straight lines. That depresses me. Katana: I love this piece. I knew what it was from the start-maybe I'm just intuitive that way? (or maybe I saw the original? :P) But really, I didn't think it was that hard to figure out. Personally, I love the "squiggly" lines. They fit well, it makes one want to keep looking, just to see if they end, or start going straight. And honestly, the text fits perfectly with the image, in my eyes. "Falling apart, piece by piece" is exactly what the image is doing. THUS THE SQUIGGLIES! Muahaha, I understand it. I think the way that it's white on black, and not the other way explains the falling apart part of it...it's very dramatic, and has an awesome effect. Ezzy: Do you mind if I call you that? Oh well. ^^; I gotta say, I really like the cross-hatching thing going on in the background. It's reminiscent to me of claw marks, or scrapes or something. ::shrugs:: I also like the actual image of the person....he looks menacing! The white around the character is a bit...overpowering to the image, drawing the eyes to where it leads rather then the image as a whole. I really like the piece, but I must say it just doesn't catch my attention. It seems too simplistic. My vote: Katana!

Yeah! ::bullies gently:: Go post! I would, but...I guess I'm being hypocritcal, but I can't come up with anything to post. I'm dead...>< But hey, here's something for ya to look at. I found an image that would work for my character. Well, face and figure wise. The clothing isn't what she's really wearing.XD Ciarra

OOC: So, Ikkillion is having computer troubles, so he/she (can't remember which...) won't be posting for awhile. Just thought I'd tell you. And really it doesn't matter who finds their seal first. Two people could even find em. Or something. Just make it interesting, not like "Hey...what's this rock, with these funky carvings, doing out in the middle of the road that we happen to be traveling on in search of our Seals?" or "Oww, something just fell on my head. Oh, it's my Seal!" That would just be...lame. IC: Ciarra was just as ready as the rest of them to take on the oncoming slaught of Shai'r'Luinr. Her glaive spun in her hands, the blade end shining bright off the light cast from the fire now engulfing the forest around the Keepers. "Dude...these things are endless!" She said, and glanced around quickly between felling one of the creatures and another. The other seven Keepers were to each their own demon-thing, various weapons and means of fighting being deployed. Well, not seven Keepers were fighting. The white bird, Jade, was trying to get her attention, just as another creature came on. She barely held it back, both hands spread apart on the staff. Another quick look around showed that Merrick was pinned. Gritting her teeth, Ciarra shoved the thing away from her and swung her Glaive around, stabbing through the beast and then quickly pulling the blade back out of it before it could fall and trap her weapon. She turned, and flicked out four of her hidden daggers, throwing them across the distance between her and the thing that had hold of Merrick. A satisfying grunt came as the first dagger hit it's target, and as the next three proceeded it, the thing let go of her fellow Keeper, let out a shrill, unnatural cry, and fall to the side. She grinned, and trotted over, drawing out each dagger with a squealching sound, wiping them off on the grass, and then slipping them back into their hiding spots. Once finished with that, it was back off into battle. There still seemed to be dozens of the creatures attacking the group, despite all the dead already. "It's gonna be a long night..." Ciarra muttered through clenched teeth as she beheaded another thing OOC: Yeah, so it's a bit choppy. I'm not in a writing mood, but I figured I'd post to try to get this moving. C'mon peoples..post! ::gives everyone a bit of a prod::

Well, I've been kicked by Katana to post the new chapter...so, despite my deadness, and the lethargy of my mind, I'll give it my best. Ya'll need to post more or something... **************************** The girl looked up from the book, a smile on her face. Really, this book did seem to be something good. She had sat down sometime while she was reading, and now had the book open across her knees. She turned the page, still smiling, revealing the next chapter, labled II. "The Keepers, after having nabbed something to eat, determined that it was time to start looking for the fabled seals of power that each of them were destined to find. They set off to the north-east, covering alot of ground, considering each of them was accustomed to travel. When they finally stopped, the sun was setting, and they had arrived at a clearing in a thick forest... Ciarra shifted her shoulders stiffly, and sat down against the base of a large conferious tree. "Man, that was some walk..." she said, and took a drink from the canteen tied to her belt. Her glaive was leaning up against the tree next to her. All around the clearing, the other seven Keepers were sitting down, or cooling down, relaxing after their hike. She had been surprised by how much ground they had covered, and throughout most if it, there hadn't been much said. Ciarra stiffened for a second when she heard a rustling to her left, but the sound materialized into Kain, who sat down lightly at the tree right next to hers. She didn't know what to say, so instead said nothing, just watched the light filtering down through the tree branches fade, and then disappear. Someone, she hadn't paid attention to who, had started a fire, and Merrick, Tarren, Cade, Reeve, Alena, And Zihark-who hasn't said much the whole time- were sitting around it in silence. Apparently, Ciarra wasn't the only one who didn't know what to say... *** OOC: Sorry for the lameness...I'm dead...but maybe this'll pick up the story a bit, since they're finally on the move...I dunno.

Ciarra grinned at him, and laughed at the look on his face. Finally a little emotion had appeared through his stone-set features. And that was suprise. "I can't duel you. That would be improper." He said simply, though is eyes did shift to her glaive with a touch of interest. Ciarra raised an eyebrow, and rested the glaive against her shoulder as she tugged off her other glove, casually tucking them into her belt. "So, you're saying that you can't fight me because I'm a woman?" A flick of irritation darted across her features. "Yeah, basically." He said, not reading the undercurrent she was sending off. But then...when did men ever? "Oh. I see. You think I can't beat you, huh, with all your militaristic training and the like? Well, we'll just have to see. Sure, I may be a bit rusty. But I started learning weaponry almost at the same time as I started Lady's lessons." A smile tugged at the corner of her lips, and her eyes, now mostly lavender, sparkled dangerously. She strode over to a clear spot on the grass, and shifted her feet about shoulder length apart, holding the glaive point down in her left hand, her whole body shifting into a fighting position, like a panther waiting to spring. "You gonna come and spar, or are you wimping out already?" she said, her voice taunting. Tarren shook his head, and fingered his sword hilt, appearing to consider this offer to spar.

Ciarra supressed a smile at the other man's misfortune, and glanced quickly over at Tarren, though her gaze flicked immediately away when he noticed her looking. Her face flushed a bit.He really wasn't her type...a bit too...disciplined, maybe...Almost like...a perfect warrior. She blinked at the thought that had drifted across her head. Where did that come from? "Poor guy..." she said to distract her thoughts, and sighed, shifting her grip agian on the glaive. Since nobody else was talking, She guessed it was her turn. She sat back down again, placing her weapon across her knees, almost unconsciously demanding a small space between her and others with it. She cleared her throat, and smiled warmly at everyone in the group, her eyes bright. "I guess it's my turn..." she said, when everybody had returned their attention to each other. All eyes shifted to her, and she noted that they ranged from brown to green, to weirdly coloured- Cade's one blue one brown. She remembered though, that her own eyes were touched with more than just a spattering of pecularity. Really, there might've been more lavender at times...though if she recalled correctly, she had been told her eyes seemed suddenly to shift from Green-tinged lavender to lavender tinged green. She shrugged at her thoughts, and fiddled with the staff part of her weapon, her fingers playing across the slanting words carved upon it. "Well, I grew up in a small but weathly town. I started off in the orphanage, and I can't remember anything before the age of about...five. Though, really, I don't even know if it was five, because I couldn't remember. The people there just dubbed me as five." She shrugged again, and shifted her gaze down for a sec, swallowing, pressing back wonders that constantly wracked her about her parents and who she was before she had been found and adopted. "Anyways. A fairly wealthy family took me in, and from that point on I was put in an intense study of how to be a Lady. I don't really remember when it dawned on my that I was a Keeper. Maybe it was a realization that came with my feeling of not fitting in with the rest of the family. Something always kept me apart. But, I did learn in that time how to hold a fork properly. And I can still curtsy to perfection to today. I left about a year back to an inner calling, taking the glaive my weapons master had given me, and the little money I had. Which, I guess, leads me to where I am today... broke, but finally among those who I might be able to connect with." She grinned at them all, but shifted awkwardly as silence filled in once more. "Uhm...who's next?" She asked, then my eyes drifted to Cade. "I nominate Cade." That elicted a roll of the eyes out of the girl, and a grumpy glare shot in her direction. Though the girl in baggy clothes spoke non the less. "Well, unlike those who have spoken so far, I did have a real family. Though they annoyed me a bit. I was the tom-boy who liked to romp and explore and stuff. I too took Lady's classes, but I used them more to tick off the teacher than to actually learn the little prissy things of being a lady." She grinned, apparently at the memories. "It was pretty much hell, those classes, since I wasn't really into all the makeup and stuff, and I learned the sword against the wishes of my parents, just because they were irking me by making me take those stupid girly classes. I really didn't think it would help me, since I've always loved adventure and stuff. " She shrugged apparently bored with speaking already. Ciara noticed that her fingers were moving around in the dirt by her feet, drawing random patterns. "Anyways, I left about last year, leaving a note behind, and taking my sword, which, by the way, is called the Gold Rune. And blah blah blah, you can guess the rest frothere.Oh...and my dad was a doctor." She shrugged, adding the last comment quite randomly, which, Ciara decided, fit who she was. Another silence decended as they all waited for someone else to speak.

OOC: Hey, you all better start posting! I put alot of work into this! ::shoots a few glares around, then smiles:: I'll give you...uhmmm...::glances around room:: CUPCAKES! ::tries to tempt with a platter of cupcakes, freshly baked and frosted.:: IC: Ciara smiled at Cade, and, out of sheer habit, curtsied, though she wasn't wearing skirts she could spread. The motion would've made her Instructor proud, still being perfect despite that she hadn't had to do one in over a year. She repeated the gesture to Tarren, since she had never gotten around to it before the new figure popped up. "It's a pleasure to meet you both. And I am so excited that I have finally found two fellow Keepers! I have been looking for around a year now, and let me tell you, it's been hard! I ran out of money about a week back...so I've been reduced to scrounging around and talking my way into getting stuff." she smiled at them both, and shifted her grip on her Glaive. She realized that Cade was similar in height, maybe taller than she was, while she had to look up to look at Tarren by almost a foot. "Anyways, enough about myself! I wanna know about both of you, since it looks like we're gonna be traveling together, looking for other Keepers and the seals. I have a small suspicion that they might be found in the mountains to the East, and maybe a few even along the coast. I did a little research before I left, and I think each will be connected to the place of each of the former Keepers' death places, or birth places..." she stopped, realizing she had rambled again from her topic of asking about them. She flushed a bit. "Sorry, pardon my rambling. I'm just so excited to finally be able to talk to people who won't think I'm crazy for claiming to be a Keeper Reborn...Would you like to sit down?" she gestured to a patch of grass, placed off to the side of the market area. ****************************** OOC: Yeah, I realize it's a bit spread out and not too well written. Forgive me, please! I am suffering form caffein withdrawl symptoms...

Mehehe...that band thing was dead tiring...::is half dead right now, and really really tired and sore:: Five hours of playing...five hours...and that's it. Then we performed...>< *********************************** Ciara, sitting against a brickwall somewhere in the east part of town, yawned, and stretched, shifting her shoulders to get the knots out of em. She was bored outta her mind, and was a bit tired of all the searching, and no finding. She had left her home almost a year ago, and still, nothing. All she knew was that she was a Keeper, and that there were seventeen seals hiddin somewhere out there, two of which she was supposed to find, and the rest of which were to go to the other Keeprs, who she also had to find...eventually. Really, she didn't look like she came from a wealthy family , besides maybe the quality of her Glaive. Her clothes were a bit worn, and her boots were obviously not new. She probably could've passed as a beggar, really. Though, the way she walked might've given her away. After all those Ladies classes she had taken, it was natural now for her to take gliding steps, with her chin high and her back straight. "I just don't see why the Gods couldn't just mash us together at birth or something...it'd make this a whole lot easier." She grumbled to herself, pushing a strand of her brown hair out of her face. Really, since she had cut it, it had irritated her...She was so used to having it long and in a braid over her shoulder, that she didn't know what to do with it now that it could barely be pulled back and held with a leather tie. "ANYBODY HERE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND A KEEPER?!" she suddenly, and randomly, shouted. A few bypassers stopped to stare at her, and she flushed a bit, but gave them a look in return. Alot of people just kinda looked in her direction, then muttered to themselves. She caught a few words, like "loony" and "poor thing...". She grimaced, and then grabbed her Glaive and started to walk towards center of the town. Which happened to be called Makeda. A weird name, she decided, but then again, hers was too.

Okay! Besides Katana, there is only one spot open, for one last guy to enter! Who will win this last spot? Who knows! Dum dum dum! Anyways, once the last post is up, I'll be going to post this in the Arena. Oh, by the way, the seals themselves, when we get to them, are palm sized circular disks, made out a hard un-known and unbreakable material. They can vary in colour, so do what you want with them...They can have etchings on them or designs if you want ::shrugs:: It's up to you.
-
Okay, so far the signups seem really good! Thanks to those who have volunteered already. There's just one problem. So far, this Rp has attracted in interest of female characters. Well, we know there are already 4 girls (with Katana's reserved character) but only 1 guy. As of right now, we need guys to start signing up... No offense to any girls who wanted to sign up, but there's supposed to be an equality between the keepers, which also includes numbers of each gender. ::shrugs:: If no guys end up signing up, I'll allow girls to continue again, but for now, CALLING ALL GUYS!

Hmm...I don't think that pacifism will work in mass, but I do know that it works in small amounts. I myself am Pacifistic. I avoid conflict, and try to solve problems without having anybody get hurt. It's harder than just going and smackin someone and tellin em to get over it, but it works, and usually the effects last.

Well, here goes mine...I think it'll do well enough Name: Ciara Ayame'Liluye (Ci or Cia for short) Age: Just turned 17 Height: 5'2" Weapon of Choice: Though she's not much of a weapons person, she has a preferance to the Glaive, A weapon resembling a staff, except ending with a two foot curved blade. The one she carries is pure black, with carvings dancing up and down the wooden part of it, and banded at the end and right below the blade with strong and shining metal. The weapon is fit for her height, and her hands, and the slanting writing on it, in the God's Tongue, is significant to her. She has a deadly proficiency with the weapon. Second Weapon: A series of small daggers, well made, hidden around on her person, though unable to be seen. She can draw one out in an instant, and use it even better than the Glaive. Each of the daggers have a different symbol on them, ranging from the Elements, to the names of the God's she worships. Powers: Seal of Shape: With this first seal, Ciara can tap into the ability to change her appearance and form. She can take on the form of an animal, though she is limited purely to those that are "un-magical", so no phoenix's or dragons for her. Too bad. She can also keep a few features of animals while still retaining her human form, like wings, longer teeth, or sharper eyes, though, this takes more energy thant he seal will provide her with, so she avoids it. The one thing that takes little or no energy is to change her outside appearance. She can easily change her height, which means that even if she appears to dissappear at times, she might really be standing next to your foot, small and unnoticed. Also, though she doesn't care much to do it, she can change her hair colour at a whim, and though she is content with her fiery green eyes, she can change that colour too. If Cia happens to draw too much energy to take a different form, it'll result in her being stuck in that form or size until she can regain the energy she over-used. Seal of Heart: This seal enables Ciara to the power of Healing. She can take care of anything from paper-cuts to holes through the body, but she cannot cure death. After a certain point, her healing draws upon her own energies rather than those provided by the Seal, so there is a danger in over-drawing and the possibility of sending herself into a coma, or worse, dying. Background: Ciara doesn't remember anything from before when she was about 5, when she was placed in an orphanage. She was never told anything about her real parents, and never questioned about them, since she remembered nothing anways. She was adopted into a prosperous family, who took care of her quite well, though she felt she never really fit in. She was required to take Lady's classes, which taught her all those proper little things like curtsies and how to hold your fork properly, and all those boring waltzes and dances that take place in a Ballroom. She left less than a year ago to figure out who she really was, feeling there was something more to her than just living her life where she was. A need to help others pulled her away from her home. Appearance: Ci is lean for her height, but in shape, posessing an hourglass shape to her that many women strive for. Her hair falls just past her shoulders to just above her shoulderblades, and is a dark and shining brown in colour, highlighted naturally with reds, lighter browns, and a few streaks of blond. Her face is round, but mature, her eyes a sparkling emerald green, sparking with lavender. They tended to change between green with some lavender, and lavender with some green. She has full cherry red lips, and naturally rosy-tan skin. Her hands are small, and so are her feet, but all the more quick for it. Usually, she wears a calm expression, expressing her gentle nature, but when she's mad, her eyes seem to be green fire, and her glares are enough to cut through any who give her even the slightest reason to send one their way. She usually wears something comfortable, which for her is a black haltertop like thing, and breeches that maybe fit a bit snugly. her shoes of choice are knee high soft leather lace-ups, and more often than not, she'll be seen wearing gloves, either with or without the finger on them. Personality: Ciara has strong opinoins, but won't voice them if she thinks they'll hurt someone. She tries her best to help all, and will do for someone else before herself. It's just how she is. She's a bit touchy about her past, because she doesn't exactly understand why she can't remember before the age of five, and is quite closed to people sometimes. She is quite friendly to all, doesn't get annoyed very easily, and is slow to anger, though it does happen occasionally. She doesn't like to cry, because it makes her feel weak, and though she strives to help others, she doesn't like to accept any help or support herself.

The young woman sifted through the shelf at the library, her fingers collecting dust from the ancient volumes. Their leatherbound covers and goldleaf accents had long been tossed aside by people more interested in modern, fast-paced novels. Her hand stopped suddenly on the second to last book in the row. The off-red color was still fresh and ripe, and yet, the smell of age had overcome it. She took the book of the shelf. Keepers of the Seventeen Seals "My child, would you like to know of the story of the Keepers? Those who lived long ago in a valiant time, faced with uncertainty of the future and anxiety of the past? The ones that passed through two generations in time and may walk amongst you today?" She flipped the cover open, turning to the page labeled "I". Prologue What is going on in this world right now has been gaining power ever since the time that The First Gods decided to leave us and go to Their realms, over 1300 years ago. Now you?re wondering, what did they leave behind, to give us at least some hope of salvation?. They entrusted parts of their power into 8 mortals who each held 2 and 1/8 Seals of Power that they instructed were supposed to help keep the peace. The 1/8th that they each got was part of the most powerful seal of all, and it was broken up between them so that it could not be misused. Of course, these people wouldn?t ever think of using The One Seal in an improper way, as they were the brightest souls that The Gods could find. They were called The Keepers of The Seventeen Seals, or The Keepers for short. The seals were their key of power, and they guarded these along with their other tasks. These 8 were supposed to wander the world for the rest of time, using what blessings they were given to help people, fix things, and keep Shai?r out of the hearts of mankind. Shai?r, better known as The Darkness, told about to every child when they were young. Every child knew that it existed, but every child also thought that it was secured away, in this universe but not really. As the story went, the Gods, when they left, also imprisoned Shai?r. Basically. The Darkness was all the hate, sorrow, and negativity in the world, all put into one God-like thing . Words cannot even begin to explain what would happen if It got out of it?s prison. It is said that It gains power all the time, with every negative thought, with every sad thing that happens, and it is said that The Darkness can take over your soul if you aren?t careful about your thoughts. There were pictures that depicted The Darkness, and it?s prison-realm. They were ugly black, hateful things that put fear in the hearts of those who gazed upon them. Fear though, also made someone vulnerable to The Darkness. So mostly people avoided thinking about it too much. The plus side of it was that with every positive happening, it also lost strength. The only problem is that there are a lot of pessimistic people out there?more than there are optimistic. About 500 years after The Gods left, the 8 Keepers started to have difficulty keeping order. Despite their great power, power that practically matched The Gods? own, The Darkness had somehow gotten itself a handle hold on the hearts of many mortals. It had transformed them into evil creatures of the shadows. These creatures were strong, having grown on hate and greed and having been blessed with The Darkness?s powers. They were called Shai?r?luinra in the God?s Tongue, or translated to Common, The Souls of the Dark. Their goal was to first take out the 8 Keepers, and then steal the 17 Seals of Power. With those, Shai?r could finally break free from it?s prison and take over the world. The Keepers had no clue that these creatures had been made, and so it was almost too late when the first attack came. Two of the Keepers were injured fatally, and they died within minutes of each other. But, before they left, they spoke their last words, ?Unr?hasuin tai?uncos vlasmir?n sai?iay!? With those words, their souls passed into the Realms of Death, and the 4 and 1/4th Seals disappeared. The 6 others that were traveling in a different place then the two that were killed, but they could feel the sudden absense of their presence, and their last words were heard in each of the survivor?s ears. Eventually, the remaining Keepers did defeat the Soulless, but at the cost of their lives. At least, those lives. Now, the Keepers are back, reborn, renewed, come again, as the Darkness once more chases at the heels of the light, and the Soulless return. 8 Souls, out to find the seals that disappeared at their last death, knowing no more than that they were reborn from the original keepers, confused, but determined, here to fend for the light again. * * * Welcome to Keepers of the Seventeen Seals, another joint project between myself and Katana. The RPG is told in a story-like format. Either me or Kat will decide when the next "chapter" starts, so keep an eye out. The girl reading the book doesn't have a name and there is nothing really special about her. By her reading, she's renewing this legend. Okay, so?There are 8 Keepers. 3 spots are reserved already, by myself, Katana, and Takamor?e. The rest are up for grabs. The only rules are: 1.) Good grammar. It?s a must. Don?t sign up if you don?t have it. 2.) Decent sized posts. That means more than three sentences. At least a paragraph. Otherwise, it just goes down the drain. 3.) Of course, no godmoding. Duh. We?re Keepers here, not the First God?s themselves. 4.) Please keep it in good taste?(you can take that how you want) Here?s what?s required to sign up: Name: Make it interesting. No Squall Whitelion?s, or generic Jenny or Mary?s! Age: Between the ages of 15-19 preferred Height: Weapon of Choice: Hey, sorry for all you gun fanatics out there, but we're allowing no firearms in this RP...it ruins the fantasy of it. I guess you M16 lovers'll have to find another thread Secondary Weapon: Something like a dagger. Be as creative as you want. (IE: The reed is actually a blow dart!) Powers: Each Seal generates a power, and only you have that power. You have two, but some we might not allow. There?s supposed to be an equality between the Keepers. Background: The setting you come from. Are you royalty? Is your family farmers? Do any of these skills shape who you are? Bio: What were you doing before you realized you were reborn?what is your life like..blah blah. Appearance: An image or a written version. If you are writing, make it at least a little detailed. Personality: This doesn?t have to be long, but tell us how your character acts. Obnoxious, shy, friendly, loud, etc. Misc.: This is the extra stuff that wouldn?t fit anywhere else. Anything and everything is up for grabs. And remember...have fun. Be creative.
