Sounds facinating, and I'd love to see it happen one day. I might even visit the place. But you know what they say..."It's a nice place to visit, but I wouldn't wanna live there." Can you imagine the door of new things that would open up? Next thing you know, they'd be talking about the first man(or woman) to try to climb it or something. Though, at this point in time anyway, the whole thing seems a little unrealistic. -Justin

I look at Christmas and Easter as two times of year in which to specifically reflect upon the events celebrated on those days. All other holidays are just holidays to me. Thanksgiving is a time to eat a lot, Halloween is a time to eat a lot of thing that aren't too particularly good for you, Independence Day is a time to celebrate the freedoms I so enjoy, and my birthday isn't anything too particularly special at all. -Justin

I can't say that I've ever been in a all-girl band, performed a song by Weezer and stunned a group of guys who said we couldn't do it. Though, I'm sure it's a great experience. :) All I can say is, "Good for you." And I say it sincerely, lol. -Justin

It depends on how you approach the girl most of the time. It's all in the smile and the tone of voice. That, most often, determines how she reads your intentions. How she reacts to the intentions she perceives, on the other hand, varies from person to person. Most of the girls I hangout with now are looking for a good guy. They're looking or the kind of guy that'll open doors for them and that kind of thing. Of course, these are qualities and habits I don't have or practice often, but I'm not out to date most of the girls I hang out with. I'm a stereotypical guy-friend. And about 95% of the time, the guy-friend is the most important, non-related man in a girl's life. They are the ultimate human counselor many times. Why that is, I have know idea. -Justin

I'm sensing some extreme idiocy coming through here... I'm also sensing a very gullible crowd. -Justin

I'm fixin to scream...I only wish you know how much I loathe that song...gah... How can anyone say they couldn't picture Kid Rock in this kind of role, lol? Has anyone here heard "Only God Knows Why"? It's one of his greatest, I highly recommend it. Anyway, I guess it was good at first, but I've heard it so many times that I start grinding my teeth whenever it starts playing now. -Justin

Excellent point, ami. I think your more or less revealed the opinion I didn't know I had. Your example is exactly how many high school relationships get jacked up. People believe that they're in love because they're finding out how great a person is in the first couple months. However, the other side of that person isn't going to come out, naturally, until he/she is comfortable and no longer feels the need to necessarily impress their partner. -Justin

I really think love just happens. It hasn't ever seriously happened to me, not romantically anyway, and I don't expect it to any time soon. Now, I do care a whole lot about my current girlfriend. I think she's one of the most awesome people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. However, as much as I love her in one sense of the word, I can't really see myself loving her enough to consider marriage(or sex) as an option. A semi-serious, non-sexual, monogamous relationship is hard enough for me to get used to at this point. I don't even want to think about one that lasts until death. -Justin

Congratulations, that's excellent! I really admire people who volunteer for positions in any branch of the military. May God be with you. -Justin

Is there ever a good enough reason for suicide?
Justin replied to wrist cutter's topic in General Discussion
I also find suicide to be a pretty selfish act. And I'm not someone who's never been in that position, looking down and talking about something that I've never experienced. I wasn't always so content with my life. I think my only reason for never going through with it was simply that I didn't want to hurt anyone else. I knew, in spite of how I felt, that there were many who cared about me. I also knew that my killing myself wouldn't do anything except give a whole lot of people some serious problems. It's a sad situation that many people are in, when they start thinking about that. I know, because I was there. -Justin -
Neither do I. I think sacrifice in itself is one of the best rewards, so long as it's not in vain. -Justin
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve And if I were a vegan this would all make perfect sense? Fine fine, if you want to eat what you kill, so be it. What is your opinion about those who kill for the fun of it. Place the little heads up on their wall. Stuff the animals and display them as tropheys and as proud objects of accomplishments....
I think people who hunt purely for the sport of it shouldn't be allowed to hunt. -Justin

I'm really looking for an '87 Mustang 5.0, if I can get one at a good price. If I can't get one of those, I'll probably try looking into a '92 Honda Prelude. I'm not a big fan of rice rockets, but those things are bad. James, by saying "American muscle cars", do you mean the newer generation or the older, vintage models? -Justin

I don't think an animal who kills my kid would be evil. I don't believe animals have souls and thus, can't be evil. I would kill it, yes, but that doesn't make it evil. If anything, that's evil on my part, since I'd kill it out of vengence and rage. And if any animal I'm hunting kills me, good for it. It's just done what few animals ever can do, and I hope it passes its genes on the next generation. I don't just go out and hunt animals to bring them home and hang them on my wall...that's a stereotype. I hunt mainly because I like the taste of deer meat over beef or pork or any of the other meats you'd find at the store. I also wouldn't kill every single deer I see at any time of the year. There's a strict limit on the number of deer you can hunt, and strict season in which you can hunt them. I never go over the limit or outside the season. Just because you don't like hunting doesn't make it evil. -Justin

I would be in favor of taking handguns from people, but not rifles. Handguns are designed solely for killing people. Whereas, rifles are also used in hunting--a sport I take part in. The unfortunate thing is, when guns are removed, there will be people killed because they couldn't protect themselves from, say, someone who wasn't a law-abiding citizen who just lost control, you know? It's really a touchy subject, though, and since we all know this, let's not bite each other too hard. -Justin

My family has always been a Ford/Dodge family...and we've never had any real problems with them...at least none that weren't my mother's fault for not changing the fluids. -Justin

I would. Their doing a soldier's duty, just like our soldiers are. What I meant by my statement is that ANY soldier who has fought in war is a hero. I just don't understand how you can say someone being willing to give up their life in the service of others(others that include you whether you want to think that or not) are not heros. It's baffling to me. Anyway, my church is doing something similar to what you're doing. I'll try to remember to get as much information on the soldiers they have listed as I can. -Justin

I close useless topics. -Justin

They are soldiers doing their job, yes. But if I began shooting at you with a gun, do you think you would be able to shoot back? Yes? Ok, now add the constant sound of bullets whizzing everywhere around you, explosions, people you've become close to dropping around you--never to get back up. Now can you shoot back? If you really think that, I hope you never have to prove it. I hope I never have to either. I think American society has become extremely desensitized to the horrors of things like war. Resulting in anyone thinking a soldier doing his duty(a duty which, ultimately, is in the service of others more than himself) is anything less than a hero. -Justin

None like that. There was a time when moderation of the boards wasn't exactly par, though. In that time, post quality of the overall majority was terrible, what we now consider spam was the status quo, and there was a stream of spammers and flamers that seemed endless. It had its perks, though. Like those cool little ranking stars. Though, few would know them, I'd like to see the old ranks revived. The ones beside 'No Life'. Though, that one is strangely enough the coolest. -Justin

haha, so, in other words, neither of them is worth a nickle. On the one hand, Saddam is stupid and will stay in his country to fight off a force he cannot beat. Whereas, Osama is cowardly because he won't fight it. I have to agree with Chris. I imagine both are very alive. -Justin

It'll end when humanity ends. It's gone on for centuries, and it will continue to. -Justin

I've never been a big fan of the Falcon. I know it was the base for the design of the Mustang, but unless you looked at the interior of Falcon and early 'Stangs, you wouldn't be able to tell. 60's Mustangs are way more aggressive looking, in my opinion, than Falcons. Though, the '78 Falcon(Mad Max) is one of the badest Blue Ovals there has ever been. I also kind of like Torinos. They don't look as good as Mustangs, but they were among Ford's lesser-known muscle cars. -Justin

I can see where this is headed, where it should've been, and where it is about to go. The people who needed to see this have. Use PMs next time. -Justin
