What do you find attractive? [Threads merged]
Richard Doherty replied to MaxSonic's topic in General Discussion
Well let's see.... Hair- blonde or jet black, from the shoulders to the hips Tan- doesn't matter Height/Weight- Well don't want to be someone that's 7 foot and a metric ton, but don't want to be with someone whose 2 feet and 3 lbs. Average I guess. Eye Colour- Red would be cool, other than that, no preference Tattoos/Piercings- Maybe a rose or something tasteful, or a bellybutton ring Femininity- Someone that can be tough, but also be girly ya know? Motoko from Love Hina is a good example of what I'm trying to say, just a little less.... extreme. But most importantly they have to have some personality and depth. I'm mean, I don't want someone that seems like a cardboard box. -
Does Experimentation make you Bi or Gay?
Richard Doherty replied to k9-Girl's topic in General Discussion
Experimentation is just that; experimentation. To be bi-sexual, I believe you would have to pursue the act of intercourse with the same and opposite sex. But a one night stand wouldn't give you a label. If you continue the act or even enjoy it, then yes you are bi/gay/lesbian. As for being inherently bi, that's still up for debate. Human nature is very complex, and puberty only makes it more complex. During that time you are open to new things. As they say, that is the time in which a person decides who they are going to be for the rest of their lives. -
I'm having a Jessica Simpson moment
Richard Doherty replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Definately had lots of those moments. Probably the most memorable two were at school. The first one was in class, and the teacher was asking for the answer to a literature question. I'm not sure what it was. But as always I was asked and I just looked at him, comletely brain dead, and said, "22?" I found that quite amusing. The other was when me and my two friends got busted for something stupid, and we were sent to the office. I was asked, "So just what were you guys doin anyway?" But while the principal was talking I was thinking about how I burned my friend. So he asked again, and I laughed and said, "Your mom." Oh god. It was worth the two weeks of detention. -
Who would you take a bullet for and who would you die for?
Richard Doherty replied to Krycifer's topic in General Discussion
My family, my friends, and even my pets. I would take a bullet for anyone of them. But there are only a very select few people in the world that I would give my life for. One of them being a very close friend of mine. I wouldn't die for my brother though. Wierd how that works what with that old saying, "Blood is thicker than water". Now that I think about it, it's basically just my friends that I would die for. But the people I care about won't have to worry about being shot anytime soon.:) But you gotta make sure you truly love the person to die for them, cause you're not coming back. -
I can relate. I too am a preferer of solitude. I enjoy being alone because I don't have to answer stupid questions and listen to boring stories of how much someone saved on pants. The drawback about being alone then invites people who make it they're business to find out why you like to be isolated. I'll tell you why, so I don't have to put up with annoyances like you, oops off topic. But yes, surviving on my own on an island would actually be quite enjoyabe I think. I know how to swim, I can cook, and I don't have any sanity to lose. It would be quite an adventure.

Age restrictions for a resturaunt
Richard Doherty replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
That is one of the most interesting places I've heard for age restriction. Okay, I can get the "adult atmosphere" aspect of it but c'mon. If it were up to me I'd tell the kids to shut up. Good thing it isn't up to me. But 25? That's a bit much. I'm in Canada and we can drink at 19, but to have to wait until 25 before you can eat just to make sure there isn't underage drinking? Who cares. Underage drinking should be the least of peoples worries, especially when hundreds of kids are shooting and killing eachother everyday on the street, dieing from drugs, and they're worried about a little booze. Geez. I mean if I went down to McDonalds and was told that I can't order a cheese burger until I'm 18, that would drive me nuts. Age resrtictions are just a legal form of discrimination, and it's not fair. But then again, when it's a privately owned business, there's almost no way you're gonna change the policy. I'm Kent Brockman saying, that's my two cents. (Always wanted to do that). -
I was born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada on September 13 1989. I have been living there, in the same house my entire life. My ethnic roots though are messed up. My mother is from Britain, so I'm part English. My father is from Montreal, Quebec. His mother is Pollock and her father was Russian. My father's father is Irish. I told you it was messed. Anyways, I'm a grade 10 highschool student (starting in September) whose studying to become an icthyologist. A person who studies fish. (I plan on becoming a shark expert). I'm into violent sports like football, and martial arts with a tendency to get carried away when playing with fire and explosives. (My freind got a hold of a railroad explosive and I nearly took out my eye). Perhaps this post will give you some insight into the insanity that is my life.

Don't bash me or anything, but I haven't seen alot of anime. It's very aggravating there's so much to watch and I can't. Anyway I thought that Spike's death in Cowboy Bebop was just incomprehensible in significance I can't express it.

Anime Favorite Anime Phrase/Saying and why??
Richard Doherty replied to Hayashi Hansuke's topic in Otaku Central
I haven't watched as much anime as some people out there, mostly due to geographic reasons and my own stupidity. But from the series I have watched, I will state some quotes. Love Hina Keitaro-*Climbs through the hole in Narus floor and his p.j. pants get caught and are pulled down* Naru-"What the hell do you think you're showing!? Bam! Hellsing Alucard-"You bastard, you called my master a sow" Cowboy Bebop Spike-"Bang" Just some good, memorable quotes, although I don't think the Love Hina one is exactly word for word. -
You're not the only one whose had someone they wanted to off. There's this one kid I know, and I cannot express how much I hate him. The blend of arrogance and stupidity are unbearable in him. In fact I was so full of rage I brought a knife with me one day. Also I had a dramatic change in disposition. Didn't do homework, didn't go to class, sometimes not going to school. But just like my signature says, "Sometimes you have to walk through the darkness to reach the light

Yea, YTV is only in Canada. I know you can get it in Ontario but not Quebec. It's basically the only gateway to anime I have so I value it greatly. Inuyasha is a pretty good anime, probably one of the longest I know of. The music isn't bad, but Fukai Mori is my favorite. The battles are good, and lot's of blood, gotta have blood. But most of all, I enjoy watching Miroku cop a feel then get beaten for it. Very amusing. If you want to find out who does the voices of Inuyasha and most every other anime, got to www.tvtome.com. It has the lo down on a ton of shows.

I hate it when people like this decide, " Hey, what are we gonna blame on the worlds problems today? I know how about T.V. shows!" This is possibly the stupidest reason for violence I have heard of yet. I mean, most of these animes are based on history for cryin' out loud. The reason for increased violence, suicides, bullying, etc is that the world is becoming more stressful. More pressure is being put upon the people of the world today what with wars, and failing businesses. If anything anime is an escape from violence. When you watch it you can relate to the characters, you feel content, you relax, there's no pressure, just sit back and enjoy. Anime isn't the problem, ignorance is. This cannot be allowed, this type of censorship is absolutey asinine. Trust me, you ban anime, there's going to be an INCREASE in violence.

Anime Who is the best anime character, in your opinon?
Richard Doherty replied to King Vicious 2's topic in Otaku Central
Well depends on your style I guess. I gotta go with the tough-guys. Alucard, Spike, Kenshin (OVA), Vash, Inuyasha, just to name a few. But I also like the goofballs too like Keitaro, and well, Vash, Goku, etc. Does it really matter? It's anime dude! Isn't that enough?! -
" You are about to experience the cultural phenomenom that is sweeping the nation." Ha, love it. Have to go with Cowboy Bebop. Great movie. Believe it or not but that movie actually changed my life.

I myself have never had a problem with my parents. They know I like it and they let me watch it, even though they may not understand half the time. They also encourage me to draw it. But I can imagine parents having a problem with some anime out there, with exccessive sexual themes and profanity. But c'mon, most of the top-box office movies are much more vulgar and "mature" than that. So if the kids like anime, let 'em watch. It's not the shows that warp minds, it's how they are interpreted.
