Whoa, I knew about all that but...they are taking orphans and turning them into sex slaves? Whoa, situation needs to be remedied...like very soon. That's just horrible. Anyways, so the death count is now over what? 160,000? And still climbing? It's just one bad situation after another over there.

Oh I know this one! I'm going to go out on a limb here...and say the line right below "Enter Avatar URL:" might be a good place to...enter your avatar's url. If you can't get the image to appear directly, or if the host is just bad, then try sites like ImageShack for your hosting needs. It should work for you until you get your avatar in the OB's own database, which I'm assuming it has since all the avatar's kinda link back to the same database. ;) You didn't mention this, but incase that your avatar is too large, then the obvious thing is to resize it. The restrictions were 150-by-80 pixels, and I forget how large the file had to be. Probably smaller than 100KB, so just to be safe try and keep it around there.

Wow, wow, and uh...wow. Okay, I'll try to keep this as civil as possible as I'm about to bust out laughing here and fall out of my chair. First off, I never thought I'd see the day where I would hear of the Obsessive FanGirl Disorder, nor see it actually diagnosed before my eyes. Well, should have seen it coming with all the Inuyasha fangirls and what not. I was ROFL'ing at the whole"Dating Anime Characters: Would You?" thread awhile back, how could you not laugh at that?! :D Okay time for a little honesty here, hell even I've almost been attracted to an anime chick once (Who doesn't matter, and damn the artist to hell!), and I snapped out of it. So don't give up so easily, but it could quite possibly be a lost cause... With that said, I wouldn't take it too seriously. I mean honestly, you don't really believe that someone could fall in love with a fiction character...do you? Okay fine, excluding Dagger's really f'ed up link (Now that was just, whoa. Marriage date and everything.), I mean come on. Not to sound rude...ah forget being humble. That is just the saddest thing I've ever, and I mean ever heard of. Granted, I've heard my girl say somethings similar to that, but me and her joke around back and forth about funny stuff like that. We don't actually end up fantasizing about about the characters. Heh, there's a line between funny and obsessive. And though I would have handed your girlfriend the award for breaking the line and going even further, but I'm sorry to say that Mr.Peach over there takes the gold. lol But hey, if in the end nothing else works, print out Sara's instructions and have the best of luck!

Oh my first wish is for all the Season DVD's of Family Guy and...okay, okay...I'll be serious. No really, if I had three wishes, my wishes would go a little something like: 1.To live in Florence, Italy with a nice manor by the side of the Tiber river, where I would have a family. (Of what, I don't know yet! lol) 2.To be somewhat (Read: I don't care to be extremely rich, just to be "better off" than the usual person) wealthy enough to buy all of the dream audio/video equipment I've drooled over all my life. To finally become that DJ/Animator/Photographer I've always aspired to be, not a famous one but one who breaks the limit of creativity. Then set up my own studio, be able to work out of my manor. 3. To make sure nothing ever happened to my girl.

Okay, much better! I understand what the premise is now, took awhile though. I read some more on the plot and backround and it seems to go into some really detailed events. Won't say much, but they aren't your usual backrounds, much more darker. This "Line" premise only makes me wonder even more, exactly how creative do they get with this concept? As much as I want to go ahead and read all the summaries of the episodes...I'll refrain from doing so for now. Anyways I really want to see this show, but again due to the extreme lack of infomation (Anyone got some good sites? I honestly can't find much on this show right now.), would you happen to know if this show is airing on television at the moment? If not, guess I better go hit up Suncoast and Amazon! lol Edit: No, I have not but I'll have to check AzureWolf's assessment right now.

How good is America doing in their foreign affairs?
Sol-Blade replied to Morpheus's topic in General Discussion
Aye, forget the debate of "Could there be more?", what exactly did YOU do to help them? Sure, that was uncalled for but seriously, be happy for the fact that at least the victims are getting aid and treatment. That's all anyone could ask for. Plus, don't forget the fact that while the governments of the world donate money, so are people all around the world. Why do you insist on looking at the donations individually? Isn't this more about the entire sum all together? As long as everyone chips in, no matter the quanity, at least we know that something is being done. -
Okay bear with me here, Google doesn't cut it as good as it used to. :D Well, seeing as you sparked an interest of the show in me, I decided to do a little research of my own...since I have never heard of this show. Ever. So, needless to say after reading many reviews...there seems to be a common line that seems to bother me. Call it curiousity, but someone please explain this: "
The day he moves back to the Tohno household is the day he stumbles upon a woman named Arcueid Brunstud and decapitates her with one stab of his knife in a temporary fit of insanity. When she suddenly showed up beside him later alive and well, and asked him to be her bodyguard!
", don't give me any real deep details just clarify it for me and simplify it a bit. Kinda just went, *woosh*, right over me. Oh if there was ever a time I was intrigued! So let me get this straight, the story starts off with our protagonist, reciving an severe injury as a child and is sent away to live with a relative. But then (I'm assuming this is several years later) Shiki ends up going back to his family because his father had passed away, and his sister is now the head of the household. But apparently he has a secret, which is the "Lines on objects" concept that I'm still looking into. lol But uh, definitely an interesting way to start a story. Time for me to look for an OST! Oh and I got a question, how long is the series? Don't remember if you stated that, and I'm too lazy to look.

Ahem, well I haven't exact had the time to read through this entire thread...but I'm going to post anyways! So with that said, I don't believe in abortion. Now, what do I mean by "believe" you may ask? I don't feel that abortion is in anyways shape or form (From the actual act, to the concept on paper, to this discussion) is morally right at all. Sure, it's just a hump of flesh and maybe even some bone too. But still, a fetus is a living creature. Now, attempting to stay away from this whole fetus debate...I feel that even if the pregnacy is unwanted, that newly created deserves a chance at life. Who are we to take it away? Nobody, and I mean nobody has the right to take the gift of life away from anything. No politician, no diety, no "licensed" doctor, nothing. But, I mean it happens all the time...does it not? We kill cattle and fish for meat. Hunters go out and hunt wild game for sport. Almost everyone has smashed an insect at least once, just because it may have scared the hell out of you. People destroy plants and trees do they not? Of course it does, and frankly it's become almost all too common. I mean, taking away life...even from something insignificant to yours...may happen more often than you think. Sure, an ant or fly may die in a week or two, and zebra may fall prey to their predators the lions, but then again...I've always thought of the human race as being just a tad bit more advanced than your usual mammal. We have this amazing ability of reasoning, at least I do. Can we not use our brain to see, that what we are doing is just not right? Now you may ask, what/who said that abortion was ever wrong? Was it ever written down? Probably not, but I mean come on. Use common sense, can you really feel any better knowing that a fellow human being, maybe even your fellow human being was DENIED life because you couldn't deal with it. That, to me, is the ultimate form of being selfish. Does that mean we should shun whoever has an abortion? 'course not. It's their choice and their's only. Granted, that choice does NOT belong to them in the first place, in today's world, you'd be surprised.
However, even if you do use birth control, you should be willing to accept and raise any child that will result from that act. Every action has a consequence, and if you knowingly accept the action and it?s risks, you should be willing to face the consequences.
See, now everyone should have at least figured that out when they hit like, oh sixteen? Seriously, if the act of intercourse is (for the extreme lack of a better word, lol) 'made' for the conciving of a child, then should it not just be for, oh say conciving a child? Argh, words are hard to come by at the moment, so basically what I meant was don't have sex if you aren't looking to have a child. It's not that hard of a concept to come up with, even by yourself. I guarantee that it isn't exactly the most orginal idea out there. ^_~

Taken directly from another thread:
Hmm, think I already mentioned my experience in another thread but if you haven't heard it already... I'll admit it. I've dressed up once, and ONLY once. It was three years ago, me and my girlfriend wanted to go to this anime convention that came to town (The name escapes me at the moment...) and she had this, bright idea that we should dress up! Right... Anyways, I couldn't say NO to her so I went along with it. She wanted to go as some kind of couple so needless to say, we dressed up as.....Gene and Melfina from Outlaw Star. She was really into the show back then. I ain't even going into details with the costumes... But if there was ever a time when I questioned my sanity...lol. Anyways, that night we both dressed up in our respective parts (I am the MALE if you haven't figured it out already), and we left for the convention. Needless to say, we had a great time though. We weren't the worst looking people there but hey, what can I say? I knew it meant alot to her that I went along with it, so there I was. I'd like to think the reason we are still together is because of it! :D Anyways, if I ever find the pictures we took that night, I'll ask her if we can post them. Don't laugh too hard though...
Was from a thread, about a few months ago. October I think! lol EDIT:This is like my 5th time retelling this story...;)

What OB members do you know, or would you like to meet in real life?
Sol-Blade replied to Boo's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, I really would like to meet...just about anyone really. Mostly everyone I've talked to on here is really friendly and we can get some real indepth conversations/debates going on. But mainly, if I really had to narrow it down to a few members, it would probably go a little something like: The Nameless: Starting and managing your own band takes alot of courage, I've been there, seen that, been through it all. I'd like to share some tales once in awhile. Besides, when you've been in the music business as much as I have, you learn to appreciate other musicans. Dagger IX1: Seemingly unparallelled knowledge of almost every damn show out there, it's quite amazing to see her go indepth and analyze every little aspect of a series. Dagger's posts are always pleasing to read, always full of information. Except for music, I like to think that I cover that area. :D James: For all the times that his posts hit home, I wish I had a US dollar. I'd be rich by now. Seriously, one of the more sensible posters around here. He always seems to have some sort of part in everything, be it an anime series to a sitcom to video games to technical "stuff". Reminds me of an All-Knowning God...lol. Okay, I'm giving him too much credit. Shinmaru: For stickin' to the old school, showing respect to the games that changed the world. Gotta love the classics, you just can't beat them. I worship my copy of Super Mario World, do you? Plus, because I too got a "Vote for Pedro" button. Morpheus: To figure out his secret of creating a new topic every 4 hours. Okay seriously, because he seems to share some of same thoughts I have about games and gaming in general. Siren: Because he scares me. ^_~ And finally, probably anyone else who has ever acknowledged my existance. -
Some of my boxsets are: South Park, seasons 1-4 -Do I really need to explain the greatness of South Park? Aqua Teen Hunger Force, seasons 1-3 -Just some of the funniest, most unexplainable crap ever. Sealab, season 1 -I watch this show for one person, Murphy. If the show starred only Murphy, I'd probably still watch it. If it was Murphy and a donkey, well now I'd channel check there. Chappelle's Show, season 1 -Dave C. is just pure comedic genius, I swear all of his skits really take the parodies and rip-off's to the extreme. Reno 911, season 1 -Surprisingly funny show, watching the scavenger hunt was too much. I loved it when Jones and Garcia called that Pizza Delivery guy, told him to get to a house in twenty minutes for an extra $40 bucks...just to bust the guy for speeding. Ah man, can't wait for season 2 to come out. Strangers With Candy, season 1 -Great sitcom, a bit weird sometimes. But bear with it for a few episodes and the jokes will eventually hit you.

So...if I heard correctly...Japan has donated $500 million dollars to the reconstruction efforts and the US has increased it's donation to $350 million dollars. Now I know this is all for an excellent cause, but it seems like it's becoming a competition! lol

Wow, a SPAM area (Love the acronym) would just so kick-***. Why don't we put up like, 7 forums of SPAM? [/sarcasm] I couldn't even being to imagine what kind of stupid, pointless, annoying, messages would be posted! lol That's all I got to say. :D

Well abusive/rude talk during online matches is unfortunately...all too common now-a-days. I guarantee that if any of you play Unreal Tournament 2004, you'll run into many people with some really, really, crappy attitudes. As for me, being an Admin of my clan's servers, I have a Zero Tolerance policy towards racial slurs and personal attacks. Trash talk can slide, because if I were going to kick every single person who talked trash I would have an empty server. But yeah, no racial slurs or personal attacks or you get the kick, and a second offense is a BAN. Go play somewhere else. :D Alas, that's why I don't play many console games online due to the lack of control over your matches. In Halo II, you have minimal control over what people say(Mute or Ignore), and can't really vote someone off of a match at times. While as in UT, I can at least try to keep the game civilized. lol

So what are we looking at now...over 100,000 casualties and we are still finding more dead? This is just truly, a horrific disaster. I donated at least $100, I figure someone or some family over there could use it way more than I could. Did you hear about that Indonesian woman who was hanging on to her two children, one two years of age, the other five years. Well, the water was getting rough, and she was losing her grip on the treebranch (Probably something else, I forget exactly) she was hanging onto, so she decided to let go of the oldest child. Well, she surived...and she later found out that her five-year old was found alive as well. It was great news, but she said she could never forgive herself for letting go of him. But then again, if she didn't she might have died. So what do you think, good, loving mother? Or just a case of being selfish? I've heard both said about her, and frankly I think that if she really loved him, she would have let him go. It's an amazing thing really, the kind of emotion to prevoke you into letting someone possibly die. But yet, I feel that it was 100% justifed. She did the only thing morally right in my eyes. Of course though, it was her decision and not the childs. The child was not going to sacrifice himself for her, she made the choice for him. But in a life-or-death situation like that, I don't think a five-year old child would have the ablity to comprehend such a decision, let alone know what the hell was going on. Maybe I'm looking too deep into it, but I feel that she did what any other person would do.

Hmm, most memorable moment this year... Well, not anything dramatic or action-packed, I won several awards this year from the National Honor Art Society (In July) for my photography, animation, and music. Heh, go me! Though as much as I respect the NHAS, the ceromony was boring as hell. Even I didn't have enough patience for that, I would've perfered to have registered my car at the DMV than sit through that.
I think I've re-watched RahXephon more times than any other anime series (Boogiepop Phantom and the Shamanic Princess OVA are two possible exceptions). It's a show I really love, and it never seems to feel stale--my enthusiasm for its characters, plot and premise has yet to wane. Whenever I revisit RahXephon, I get something different out of the situations and emotions it presents.

I'll have to agree with Dagger and say that I have re-watched the RahXephon series the most so far. I have watched the series straight through a good 7 or 8 times so far; mainly at first to understand it more, but later on because I loved it so much. So far no other series has had this great of characterization in an anime and along with the art its just perfect to see over and over again.
Heh, guess I ain't the only one. ^_^ Yes, I too love to watch RahXephon over, and over again. Why? It's hard to explain, but basically the series is THAT good. At a first glance, it's your typical "Jack of all Trades" type of show, but deep down there is a great story and excellent character development. Did I mention how stylish and innovative the art is? And to top it all off, the OST is the best anime soundtrack, ever. Words cannot describe the extremely masterpiece of the music. I mean, I've listened to Maaya Sakamoto sing Hemisphere so many times, I know all the words by heart...in Japanese. lol, considering I don't really care at all for the lanuage. Other great songs like Garden of Everything and Tune the Rainbow make this CD well worth it, this OST is way better than Cowboy Bebop or Initial D ever was. Infact, this OST needs to be given away to every single otaku, I'm buying!
quad i kno you got that from that t shirt
There's the reason for the quake right there. lol Okay, lets be serious now. I found out about it on monday morning. I too was flipping through the channels when I saw footage of some people on a beach being washed away by a wave. And I must say, powerful footage indeed. I really felt bad, even more so when I heard the casualties...20,000+ and growing. Just, wow. I couldn't believe it. I mean, this is the kind of stuff you only see in movies. I never actually thought I would live in the age where a tsunami would devastate an actual country. What's bound to be even worse, is the aftermath. I mean, all that humidity and the weather...there's bound to be disease spreading about. And with so many dead, and no where to put them...disease is going to be around. That's truly a State Of Emergency right there, I really hope other nations can help them recover.

Well, graphics are important to an extent. They sure as hell don't make up the core of the game. It's nice to see technology being constant improved and updated, but when there isn't really alot of gameplay to back it up, it's kinda pointless. My top ten, would have to be: 10.Medal Of Honor: Pacific Assault -My god, have you seen the facial expressions on these guys? They look so real, and their mouths actually include teeth you can see and count even. The flora looks great and the guns are modeled to the dime. 9.Halo II -Well, now I'm kinda iffy on this one. The game looks pretty good for a FPS, and obviously sports some new bump-mapping effects. But for sure, the whole Dynamic Mesh LOD that happens during cutscenes keeps this from being any higher. If you've played the game, you know what I mean. 8.Metal Gear Solid 3 -The game makes it characters seem more life-like by having almost everything on their body that can move...well move. Hair flows smoothly, chains dangle and clank, coats and jackets sway. Plus, MGS3 keeps the smooth frames through out the entire game. Only clog up I saw was during the fight with The Fury, which with all the action going on...was understandable. 7.Homeworld 2 -This game came out last year and it still looks phenomenal. Watching the tracer fire of your fighters, or the trails of their jet engines is just so visually satisfing. The Ion Beams of the captial ships look even better than ever, they glow so vividly. The game also uses some of the best bump-mapping ever. Especially when ships explode, then my god your eyes will really have a feast. The ships all show explosions through their hulls, and then when the big burst comes the bright flash of light captivates you. Finally, all that is left is a burning hulk, which spins and gives off debris. 6.Killzone -It was the best looking game on PS2 in my opinion. The whole urban war theme that took up much of the game was done really well. All the cities on Vekta looked bombed out and appropiately trashed. And the Helghast just looked freaky, kinda like the Panzer Cops from Jin-Roh. 5.Prince of Persia: Warrior Within -Okay, so the graphics are not the best ever, but the game really uses some neat effects. For one, the Time Powers of the amulet look much better than the orginal, and the dust and sand in the game really looks better than I thought it would be. And all the cool little animations the Prince did are back, and they are funnier than before. 4.Rome:Total War -Oh words cannot describe the technological achievement of this game. Having thousands and thousands and thousands of soldiers all rended beautifully in 3D...oh my. Seeing them all stand so majestically just sends chills down my spine. Especially when you see your spearmen brace themselves for a cavarly charge, and you see the cavarly JUMP over the wall of spears. Now have that happen thousand times, at the same second. Yeah, you see what I'm getting at. ;) 3.Farcry -Still looks good, considering it's age. The flora in this game also looked great, and the water effects are the best ever seen. Gotta love the heli's in the game, you can't beat seeing the chopper blades break off one by one. 2.Half-Life 2 -Oh come on, you saw this coming. Just play the game, you'll see. 1.Doom 3 -Sure, the game really, really bit the big one. But, it was sure as hell one graphical nightmare. I mean everything casted a shadow, everything had a actual property of "Mass", people's faces looked so real to the point where you could see the color of the pupil in their eyes in full detail. It was neat to be able to read the text on monitors around the game. The blood looked quite amazing, as there was often gallons of it around. The demons are the stars of the show though. Nothing could beat the texture of a Hellknight roaring in your face. With teeth, dripping blood, some ugly lips, saliva, and his eyes just had this look of "I'm going to rip you in half" that really made the fear effect of the game so much higher. Kudos to you ID, too bad the gameplay was so-so.

How good is America doing in their foreign affairs?
Sol-Blade replied to Morpheus's topic in General Discussion
They would have a police force if some of the insurgents didn't kill them off. You forget that, the few insurgents who step up and are opposed to us will (Apparently) go to any means necessary to show that they are unhappy with US help. Look, I don't know any of the details, just what I follow on the news. And so far, it looks like alot of recruiting stations are reported to be packed with would-be police officers, but you will always hear of a car bombing that took out everyone there. -

Personally, the war in Afghanistan was fine by me. I felt that we were not rushing into anything, and we were NOT invading or occupying the country, we were simply there to hunt down a man and his organization. The war in Iraq however, I felt we handled a little differently. For one, even though we had unseated a dictator from his "throne", and even though the country is (supposedly) better off now that we are helping the Iraqis build their own government...we never really found any WoM there. I'm not saying that there was never any, oh I'm sure there was. My problem, is the fact that Bush seemed to justify the war on WoM's and WoM's only. Even if that was his real intent, we should have based the war on "Uprooting Saddam from power" because...when your entire war is based on concrete evidence...that hasn't been found...well then it can't really be called "evidence" now could it? I'm not against the war, I just think that our motives were (for lack of a better word), off. I know we have people here who know family members or friends who are fighting in Iraq, and I respect that. They are doing what I cannot, and so what can I say but support them? One used to say that, "The Ultimate act of Patriotism, was following your country right or wrong."Not to hijack a thread or anything, but what do you guys think of that? -
Well, by responding to this thread, at this hour, after X many ounces of caffeine (Which probably isn't spelt right), my IQ comes out to be...just short of a brick. ;) To compare IQ tests are pointless, to take them can be somewhat benefical, and to gloat about them is somewhat ignorant. I (Obviously) don't care much about them really.

Ah what the hell...let me partake in this. My favorite RPG character (We are talking "pre-set" character's right? Because I happen to like several of my custom characters in a few games! :D) would have to be 'Hero' from Suikoden II. Note, for those of you who didn't play Suikoden II, 'Hero' was character that you named, nothing else, kinda like all the FF games. 'Hero' was a dynamic character on many levels. For one, he was very emotionally stressed through-out every portion of the game, and he shows it. By first being severely scared in the beginning (
Loses his best friend, finds out a foreign army is looking for him, being taken captive from a bunch of mercenaries
), to having to take on a major respondsibility (
Being elected leader of the Revolutionary Army, building a mighty castle, defending the surrounding lands, and taking on the various rival armies around him
), to finally facing his ultmate destiny in the very end (
Having to face, and invade the land of Highland aka Arch-Nemesis and deciding on what to do about his lost best friend, who he found out was leading the Highland army all along
). Like wise, 'Hero' goes through alot of physical pain fulfilling his destiny. He is constantly thrown into battle against relentless invading armies thus recieving all sorts of physical injuries in the process, to being bit by vampires, to fighting giant dragons, and becoming possessed by demons...he went through it all. Did I mention he was very, very young at the time? I forget the exact age, but definitely in his teenage years. Truly a character you feel emotion for, I felt bad when he suffered and (Yeah I admit it...what! ^_~) cheered when he triumphed.

Art James the Corroded Christmas Special [Animation]
Sol-Blade replied to Ellerby's topic in Creative Works
Oh man, that was even better than Syk3's animation. It was truly magnifico! Yeah okay, I think I made up a word but hey, can't hold it against me when you have a baby with an *** for a face. ;) It was pretty good, kinda like a one-liner. I for sure wasn't expecting...that for the baby. lol Hey, it made me laugh (Probably more than it should have), and that's all I could ask for!
