Mina looked around her councilo and smiled warmly. "I'm glad you've all come, as you've heard, yes there has been an attempt on my life." Many gasps filled the room. "I belive someone was pulling the strings behind Talik, I plan to find out who and why...where...has anyone see Aaron, Luna or Buron?" Buron opened the door and stepped through. "You summoned me m'lady?" "A while ago. Sit so we can finish here." SHe began to explain the stuation to the others around her TJ by her side. *sorry so short guys and gals gotta movie to attend!

Vey peaked over the deck at Jericho and smiled warmly as he dozed. She could see the lights of the town just off shore but everyone need their rest an dso she let loose the anchor and secured the sails lettign them sleep. SHe checked in on Heero and Katrina and smiled as she saw his hand resting on hers. "How cute." She whispered. She covered Heero with another blanket and checked Katrina's wounds, she nodded as she noticed that they were healing nicely. "Good..." She covered Katrina and made sure neither one was awake and smiled. "Sweet dreams Papa bear and Mama bear..." SHe left as silently as she had come and went to Jericho. SHe stifled a laugh as he mumbled in his sleep. "Cover that with some more gravy and gimme that steak...I love cranbeery sauce..." She rolled her eyes and placed a blanket over him as well and left to check on Cliff, he looked up at him and coughed slightly. "Haven't they fed you?" "They tried little one, I can't swallow the food." "FOOD? THEY GAVE YOU SOLID FOOD?" Vey stared in disbelife as Cliff nodded. "They're all daft..." She sighed and kissed his cheek. "I'll be right back." SHe spun on her heel and marched to the kitched where she boiled a peice of salt pork and mixed it with flour and seasoning making a slight mush mix. She took it with her back to Cliff bunk and began to spoon it too him. "Relax your throat...thats it, just let it run down. Don't gimme that look, I know it sounds really wrong...but it's the truth." She smiled and fed him more of the mush. "Good?" He nodded and gestured for more. "I had to do this for a bunch of people who were sick on the boat." "You learned alot form your old man did you?" "From everyone...from healing properites to food...yea, I miss them but I know they each gave me somethign special. Now, let me see your stitches." "She examined them and smiled. "You should be able to walk around a bit in a wekk, but NO working got it?" He nodded. "How's Heero?" "Stubbron, as always...I think of him as a brother I never had...and Katrina...I love them both so much, they've done so much for me that I feel like dead weight." "That's a load of posh. Finish that." She stayed till he fell back to sleep and walked back to Jericho. Mina arrived back at the castel in time to see...nothing. "Where is everybody?" She yelped as a blade sunk next to her foot. TJ was by her side instantly. "Are you alright?" "Yes, I'm fine. I'll be right back." SHe slipped arund the corner and onto the roof where Talik stood looking for her. "Where did she go?" "Behind you you traitor!" He turned and paled as she advanced on him eyes glowing menacingly blue. "I'll kill you for this Talik." "No, Mina please..." "Beg all you want. That was a deliberate attempt to kill me. Do NOT think that you will get away with that." She grabed his collar and threw him over the edge into the grass below and jumped down doing a heel drop in the middle of his chest breaking all his ribs anf crushing his heart. He gasped for breath as he died and reached for her, she kicked his hand away and spit on him. "You were warned Talik, I told you not to mess with me." He closed his eyes slowly as the life left him. Mina sighed. "I hate doing that....thats the fourth time this month...Oh TJ am I that hard to follow?" She looked back smileing, her adreniline rushing, her eyes glinting with the thrill of death.

Vey whooped letting them know she was succsessful and even though sore she was triumphant. "I didn't let you down Heero." She limped back to Heero's room and collasped to her knees, the cannon had backfired and hit her in the ribs. "I think one or two are broken...how's Heero?" Katrina looked at the girl and found her to be mature, and serious. "We're almost there. Katrina can you gimme a minute with him, please?" Katrina nodded and left shutting the door. "Heero? Can you hear me?" He nodded weakly and she got up and walked over to him keeping the rag on his forehead cool. "Your gonna be okay, you and Cliff are gonna make it...right? Right Heero? Your not gonna leave me alone right?" SHe couldn't stop the tears as they began to flow. "Heero this is the only thing I know now...You can't leave me like this, theres so much left to be done and said...You can't you just can't." She put her head on Heero's chest and sobbed. "You have to make it through this, for all of us. For the Rose...please?" She buried her flushed face deeper trieing to hide the weakness she'd shown him.

Vey walked by with a arm load of bandages and and what looked like alchohol. "Hey, thats my line. ANd Katrina you'd best sit your ass down or you'll pull those stiches." She kicked oped the door to Cliffs room quietly and slipped in. SHe knelt down beside his bed and took a deep breath and bega to change his bandages cleaning the wounds with the alchohol. When she was done she held his hand and blinked when it squezzed back. "Oh my god...Cliff are you awake?" The kind eyes slid open. but only a fraction. "Barley...lilltle, one." Vey felt the tears well up, his words were slow and spaced and his breathing a little stronger. "You...Did a ...fine job, cleaning my up...child." "Shhh. don't speak mate, you need to concentrate on healing." Cliff nodded weakly and slipped back into sleep, his hand still sqezing her's. Vey released her hand gently and walked backwards from the room till she was out the door, she closed it and turned smileing, truly smileing with tears running down her face. Heero noticed her first. "Vey?" She looked up at Heero and ran to him planting her face in his shoulder sobbing and laughing at the same time. "He's OK Heero, Cliff's gonna make it." Heero stood there frozen. "Heero Cliff's gonna be OK." She hugged him around the waist as her tears kept coming with her laugh.

Vey wiped her tears away and planted a firm hand on Heero's shoulder. "Heero I can save them. I need a needle and thread, Jericho I need you to go to the kitchen and look behind the third barrel on the left, behid it you'll find a sack of what looks like wheat and barley, bring that to me, than I need you two to get Cliff over here as soon as possible." They did as she was told and she soon had Katrina bandaged and stichted up as well as Cliff. "Great now, Jericho you get Katrina to her quarters and me and Heero will get Cliff to his." Jericho nodded and picked up Katrina gently as Heero and Vey did same to Cliff. Vey than went to the kitchen immedenatly and begane to boil the contents of the sack into a broth. Pouring into two cups she handed one to each boy. "Jericho, make her drink this, Heero you do same to Cliff." They both nodded and left Vey in the kitchen. She looked at the floor and slid down the wall sobbing. "I should have stayed, I should be dying like them. Why did she send me away like that? I should never have left..." Vey buried her face in her knees and sobbed louder, the needle she still held biteing into her hand. She looked at her hand and let go of the needle and slamed a bloody hand onto the floor. "I should have stayed...They could die because of me..." She took off the bandanna and buried her face in it and her knees againa dn cried for all she was worth.

Vey shook her head as the boys left and looked around. "Katrina can you keep a lookout for me and tell me when they coem back?" "Sure. But why?" "Hey I need a bath and a good hair wash. Tell Cliff not to looke on the straboard side." Vey grabbed a blanket and a bar of lye soap and flung off the edge of the side. "WHOA! Jericho wasn't kidding this is frezzing..." SHe striped out of her clothes and took a deep breath and dove under coming back up shiverign, she washed her clothes first then proceeded to wash her-self and hair. She wadded to the shore the blanket wrapped around her for warmth and to dry. Her hair plastered to her head like a black cap she looked out at the Devils Rose. Her clothes were spread about her drieing in the sun that broke from the clouds. She smiled despite her wounds and leaned back closing her eyes. WHen she opened them she blinked twice at a rodent face and screamed. The thing rushed back into the bushes. "No, No, sorry, come on out...I won;t hurt you..." A small head poked from the bushes and Vey blushed. "Aww, your so cute..." The ferret slinked up her arm and nuzzled her cheek. "You were someone's pet before, I can tell." She stroaked the tan and black fur gently giggling as it purred. "well I better be getting back..." She looked at the ferret and sighed. "come on." The thing buried it-self in her pants poket as she picked them up and sliped them on. "Heero won't be pleased but he'll live...I seem to be thinking of him alot here lately...." She sliped the shirt over her head and winced slightly at the pain. SHe wadded back into the water and swam to the ship hauling her-self on board as Katrina looked over. "Good timing they're coming back." Vey nodded and hoisted the creature to her shoulder. "What is that?" "I dunno but he's freindly and I think he'll keep me some company on this voyage...right, Spaz?" The ferret crawled al around her body and perched it-se;f ontop of her head. "Good, now Lets help the boys aboard and see what they found ne?" Katrina nodded. Vey looked over at the paople approaching the ship. "Katrina...I hate to be the bearer of bad news...but, those aren't our mates mate!" "What!" "More rebles! Get ready, we gotta keep them off the Devils Ros enad where there are a few there be more to follow."

Vey felt warm and safe where ever she was at, she smiled as she woke she had dreamed that her and her family were together and that everyone in the crew was safe. She sat up slowly and maoned as pain raced iver her body like needles. "Damn...It's morning. Best see if anything needs done." She rose and blinked. "Th-This isn't my room...Heero." Se smiledas she heard the familiar sound of his voice. "Lets get under way, I think we're all ready to get outta here!" Vey limped from the room and directly over o the sails and griped the rope tight, a shadow covered her and she looked up into the kind face of Cliff. "You should be in bed child." "So shoulf Heero. He's worse off then I am." "That would seem f he had been burnt like you." "I'm fine Cliff." To prove her point she wrnched the rope back releaseing the sail and stood on shaky legs. She looked back at Heero and smiled. "All set here captin!" "Vey? You should be lieing down!." "So should you but your stubbron, I'm just determined." SHe limped over and handed Heero a sack of what looked like leaves. "Healing properties. It'll dull the pain, mother taught me." She limped back to the front of the ship and placed the reed flute to her lips and begane to play, the sound lifted through the air making the day seem a little brighter.

Satsuki dropped down beside Omrie and looked him over. "You got into a fight when I lost sight of you didn't you? The reason I kept an eye on you was I have heard of this place and the gangs here are ruthless and won't hesitate to kill you for your money." She put an arm under his and lifted him with ease. "Lets go..." "I don't need your help." "Fine." Satsuki dropprd him and watched as he fell to his knees, "Don't need the help huh?" She helped him back up and looked at yeua. "Let's go."

Bravie looked al around, she knew that there was a threat but she couldn't gind it yet. "This is a load of shit!" One of the more experianced hunters came through adn laughed. "Temper Bravie will get you no where." "Shut up! Theres something here and I know it I just can't find it. "We all know Bravie, stay calm and you'll find it." Bravir nodded and realesed her whip for saftey. "Calm, like that'll ever happen..."

Vey groaned as she regained what little consiousness she had found. "Ow...I can't move without hurting...hurt...Heero!" Vey sat up quickly and fell on the floor dizzy and weak. "What the hell?" Blood dripped on the floor from her cheek and she remebered the whip. "Oh, Yea...I wonder if Heero's ok." She stood with the help of a wall or two and walked outside, not seeing anyone she limped to the wheel deck and sat down, she took the reed flut from her poket and checked the sound. "Perfect...as always." She placed a bandaged hand over he ear, she could hear fuzz but nothin more than that at the moment. She took a deep breath, placed the flute to her lips and began to play. The melody was long and sweet, a song that made a person relax and forget the pain they felt. Tears fell from her closed eyes as she played and remebered her father, she had reconized that ship. They were the ones that killed her family and crew. The tune turned sad and she felt her heart fill with a sence of pride that she had fulfilled her plan to kill them all. With out knowing it she began to play the tune that Heero liked and she played it over and over till she fell asleep right there at the wheel deck, her hand clenched around the flute.

Satsuki nodded in agreemnet. "He's right! I'll meet up with you guys than." She turned and pushed her way throught the crowd as she did she made her way into the sunlight and began to find it easier to breathe. "Now time to find a shop and a diner." She walked away from the station all the while keeping a shrap eye on the people around her and the other two boys in her team. SHe made sure that she never lost track of them till sundown when she found them at the meeting place. She smiled and waved. "Let's do thid thingie." She headed away and turned back blinking. "where are we going again?"

Vey smiled as she thought of many ways to divert the priates but one caught her eye imediantly. "He has Heero's medallion...that means alot to him..." "Vey, don't do anything stupid." "Shutup Katrina. I know what I'm doing." Vey slinked behind the barrels and caught the one with Heero's medallion around his neck. "Don't you know it's not nice to take thing that don't belong to you?" "What?" Vey turned his head shrpely snappign his neck. Katrina watched as vey slipped the medallion off his neck and onto her own hideing it under her shirt. "Lets do this." Katrina nodded and followed Vey as she moved silently through the ship, Vey turned and looked at her. "You stay here, your not quiet enough for this." "I can be." "No, your no theif, Heero's already hurt, I don;t think we need you injured as well." Kartian nodded. "What are you planning?" "You'll see, I think you had best go and find Heero and help them, once I do what I have to here you all will need to run." "What do you mean 'we'? Your coming too." Vey nodded and shoved Kartina down the hall torwads where Cliff and Heero left. "Go." Vey watched as Katrina ran down the way they came and sighed. She slipped past the gaurd and into the girls room, she smiled. "I knew it, gunpowder, every where. And just as I thought, mine and Katrina's gear. They make this way to easy." She beagn to spread the gunpoweder around the room and grabbed her and Katrian's gear and lit the powder running down the hall she saw Heero and the others jump off and into the water. She slowed down and thrw the things in her arms to the others. "Come on! That thing is gonna blow in a matter of seconds!" called Katrina. Vey took a deep breath and ran back she had something to do first. She ran as fast as she could till she found the man with the whip. "You bloody brat, I'll kill you." Vey screamed as the whip gashed her cheek and her body over and over agian. Her eyes turned dark with anger as she felt what Heero had gone through. "No more..." She pulled the pistol from her belt and fired between his eyes. Smileing grimly as he dropped dead to the floor she realized the she still had Heero's medallion. "Oh, shit!" She turned and began to run back to the dock as the ship shook with her diversion. She felt the heat of the fire and flug her-self off the other side and into the water as the ship exploded fliging her far into the water. SHe swam to the bottom and spread her hands turning she watched with satisfaction as the ship burned. She kicked off the sand and broke throught the surface and began to swim back for the island. The salt bunred her eyes, wounds and burns but she knew she'd live, she had to find the others and check on Heero. And give him back his medallion. She reached the shore and fell onto the warm sand and passed out.

Satsuki laughed as hs esaw Yeua run past, her eyes were atering as he returned to them. "That oughta teach you to steal." She held up a pouch that contained powder and smiled. "Nasty for the stomach, but harmless to the body and taste." SHe laughed as he galred and hefted her weapon onto her shoulder. "Lets moussy." She hopped from the train and looked around. "This place is huge." Shifting her weight to better support herself she looked at the other and linked arms with both. "Well lets get, don;t get separated..." SHe blushed slightly as each boy tightend their grip.

Vey bit into the rope holding her hands together as Katrina watched. "What are you doing Vey?" "What does it look like? I'm getting out and I'm going to find Heero. I just have a bad feeling that he's hurt." Vey bit into the rope again and agian till she knawed all the way through. SHe tosseda dagger to Katrina. "Look, you go and find Jericho, I know your worried about him...I'm gonna go find Heero and then we'll get Cliff and get outta here. Savvy?" Katrina nodded and Vey smiled. "Don't let us down mate." She tore from the room and down the halls following her insticts. She saw a door open and two men come out one held a bloody whip. "Poor bastard, you think he'll die?" "If not from infection then from starvation. WHat do you think the captin will do wth the women?" "Probably give em to the crew..." Vey watched as they walked down the hall and slipped into the room they exited, she stopped dead in her tracks and cried out. "HEERO!" SHe grabbed a blanket and ran to him throwing it around his exsoposed body. Cuttin him down she caught him and landed on her knees. SHe cradled him against her and sobbed. "Heero, wake up mate...wake up please wake up...we need you everyone on the ship needs you. Please wake up please..." She rocked back and forth till the door opened and Jericho, Cliff and Katrina peeped in. Katrina's eyes softened. 'Lets wait for a minute..." Jericho looked at her and frowned. "we don't have a minute." "We'll make one." Vey brushed the bags from his face and hoisted him onto her back. "Lets go." SHe ran behind the others and headed for the Devils Rose.

Mina looked up at TJ and wiped her eyes. "I think we'd better head back, it's getting dark." "We've been here that long?" Mina nodded. "Yes, but I think that the others will come looking ofr us if we don;t leave soon." TJ nodded. "I suppose your right." Mina smiled and kissed TJ's cheek. "Thanks TJ, your always there." SHe turned and ran torards the castel smileing sadly.

Vey shivered slightly as the wind blew, she leaned her head against the wheel and sighed. Placeing a hand over her ear she brought the newly made reed flute to her lips and tested the sound. "Perfect..." She begun to play a tune that Heero recgnized. "Where did you learn that?" Vey stopped and looked up shocked. "Um...M-My mother taught it to me when we were caught. She sadi that the song would give anyone who heard it a sence of pride and hope...I thought Katrina could use to hear it." "You respect her?" "Of corse! Why wouldn't I?" Heero shrugged. "Captin, do you think I'm to childish?" Vey looked at Heero and as he looked down she began to play the tune again, loud, clear and beautiful.

Vey clunked the floggen of alchohol onto the table and watched as Jericho struggled to keep his in his mouth and drinkit quickly. "You lose old man." "OLD!?" Vey laughed and loked up at Heero and Katrina. She saw the look on Heero's face and sombered quickly. "What happened?" Another floggen was placed infront of her and her eyes lit up, she plucked it from the table and downed it within seconds. "Very good! No more. I'm done 2 id good enough for me." She looked back at Heero. "I've got what I need...you ready to go lover boy?" Jericho glared a ther and she laughed. "Good. Lets go Captin."

Satsuki looked away and smiled sadly. "Well, for the most part on me, I had no parents. I was raised by a couple that wanted a kid so they took me in from the streets..Thats all I really remeber. All I remeber of my real mother is that she was beautiful, brown hair and green eyes. My father, he didn't stick around." Satsuki swatted Yeua's hand as he reached for a piece of deli turkey from her plate. "Ow!" "You shouldn't steal." Satsuki poped apiece into her mouth and looked at Omrie. "Wanna piece? Really good." Omrie nodded and took the piece handed to him form Satsuki. "Thank you." Satsuki nodded and laughed at Yeua. "Here. I'm not hunry after all..." She rose from her seat and wondered over to the window and begun to hum. Omrie looked at Yeua. "I think you upset her somehow." Yeua nodded and looked back at Satsuki who continued to hum to her-self.

Vey grumbled as she mopped up he water below deck. "That bum Jericho should be helping me..." Heero and Cliff had gone to the captins quarters to talk and Katrina had left to bury her nose in that book agian. "I can't take this, me hands hurt and if i mop anymore they gonna reopen." She sat on the floor and sighed as the cool wood braced her back. "Storms dieing down now...wonder what it looks like out there..." She stood and returned to mopping as Jericho came down the steps soaked form head to foot. "NO! Your only puttin more water down here!" "So?" Vey narrowed her eyes and thre the mop at Jericho. "Fine, you can mop it than. Bloody water rat." "I heard that!" "LIKE I CARE!" Vey stormed onto the deck and into her quarters and flopped onto her bed. Katrina blinked. "Vey?-" "You had best keep an eye for you little pet or I'll murder him I will." "Pet?" "Jericho." Katrina sighed and looked back at the book to tired to argu with the girl.

Satsuki smiled and nodded. "Thats a nice bow. But this thing here has pulled me from a few jams." She pulled the metal rod from her shoulders and allowed it to thunk loudly on the floor making the train convulse. "Sorry!" She looked at Omrie. She can crack a skull with one blow. Yup, she's the one that I hold." Satsuki sat down next to him and leaned back sucking lightly on the wire everpresent inbetween her lips. "Look, hope I didn't hurt you when I threw you in." She looked at him and laughed as his eyes began to return to normal size. "How can you carry that thing?" "Oh te rod? Simple she only weighs 130." "130 what?" "Pounds." Omrie's eyes bugged in his head and he looked at Satsuki blinking. "You look like you could barely lift a twig..." "Genetics, my fater wanted a boy but the gene gave him a girl, so he used gnetics to well you get the idea. Other than that nothing else. Well I DO carry it EVERYWHERE with me ya know. That helps too." Satsuki clapped Omrie on the back and stood. "I'll be back...gonna go see what's to eat on these bukets they call trains." She picked up the rod with one hand and left for the food cart.

Vey frowned and narrowed her eyes at the two boys laughing at her. "Laugh at me will ya?" She hopped up onto her chair and launched off takleing Heero. "Now, lets see just how fast YOU are...dear captin." She fliped off and ran to the deck but stopped, she flew forward as Heero and Jericho ramed into her. "Vey..why did-" SHe stood and brushed her-self off. "Um...I think we'er in for a storm..." She looked up at the black sky and ran to her quaters. "Katrina! We got a storm brewin in our path. We're gonna need you." Vey ran back onto the deck adn looked down at the water. She turned and looked at Heero. "Bring in the sails, we ae fixin to get some wind." "How can you tell?" "Air chaged, that and the waters gettin chopy." Vey ran with Heero to bring the sails in and tie them down as Cliff helped Jericho and Katrina. All jokes forgotten. "Now, we need to level this beaut." "Level?" "Thats no normal storm cap. That be a hurricane." "How?" "You see the color in the cloud there? Tis green. That gave it away." "Right so how do we level this ship?" "Simple, put two boats on each side." Heeor blinked. "The row boats..." "Right." Vey grabed a hold of a rope and pulled dragign the boat with her. She winced as the corase rope bit into her hand and sliced it open. "Seven sands of hell! Lets finish up, we're gettin hit now." Tha ship rocked and lifted as the wind picked up and tossed the ship. "We gotta get under deck!" Vey nodded as Heero gave the order and ran as a wave emptied onto the deck. Jericho looked around. "Where's Katrina?" Vey looked around and gasped. "Katrina!" She ran for the doo but Heeor stopped her. "Never risk your life for another." "She's not 'another' Heero, shes my friend and I'm NOT leavign her out there." Heero tighten his grip on her waist and she let out a frustrated growl, whirling around she brought her fist up and under his chin knocking him to the floor. "Take that anyway you want but I have to go help her." Vey ran out onto the deck and slipped on the water. "KATRINA!" "Vey! Over here! This sail came loose." Vey rushed over and began to work quickly as rain pounded on them. "We gotta hurry, it's gettin bad." Katrina nodded and looked up. "LOOK OUT!" Vey looked back and screamed as a wave smashed down on them. She grabed a rope and tied it arounf Katrina's waist and let go. "VEY!" Vey hit the side and screamed gian. "That hurt..." Satsuki Looked after Yeua as he ran off. "Is he upset that they're sending the youngers into fight the nine army?" She turned back and looked au as the train whistel blew. "IT"S LEAVING EARLY! Where is he?" The condutor looked at her and up at the clock. "Times up your either going now or staying." 'Omrie we gotta go NOW!" "But Yeua..." "He's on his way back here now, I see him coming over that hill. He can catch up." Satsuki grabed Omrie's shirt, picked him up and threw him onto the train. SHe jogged beside it as it began to move. Satsuki let go of the side nearly falling out of the the train her-self it Omrie hadn't got her feet.
