FINALLY! I'm so glad that the Bounto arc is over! After watching 109, I realized that I didn't miss anything by not watching the Bounto Arc (I feel sorry for them fans who did watch it). The writers did a good job of using 109 to reset things back to the way both worlds were right after the Soul Society arc but they were forcing the episode's theme so much that now I'm sick of the word "revolving". The thing about missing so many episodes is that you can easily pick out the minor differences/changes in the anime. I noticed that Bleach lacks teh funnies now (but Shinigami's Cup is still awwwright!) and Ichigo's personality has gotten considerably more em--errr, serious. Rukia's voice got deeper and more hollow, too. Byakuya, though, is still hot.

The OtakuBoards Nifty Fifty of 2006 (Nominations Thread)
Delta replied to Shy's topic in General Discussion
What: OB Nifty Fifty of 2006 [thread] Why: Obligatory vote. It had pictures and drama. What: OB Graphic Worm [thread] Why: Because it had even more pictures than OBNF '06. What: The Complaint [thread] Why: I always find it amusing when people put up straw men and bicker about minor technicalities such as names of organizations. Effin' good drama right there. And I believe it's because of this thread that OB got new staff members. Kudos to the OP; the thread really made a difference. What:Mafia [event] Why: Excellent adaptation of an IRL game to a forum-friendly form. Sexy banner is a plus. -

And buy her mother chocolate.
Indeed. Give her mom the best available; one should never forget how easily parents can make or break a relationship.
What have you gotten for your significant others? What did you get for them this year? If you're a girl what do you want from you guy and vice versa?[/FONT']
1) Nothing. 2) Nothing. 3) What I don't want: clothes (I never trust my shopping to anybody), chocolates (got too many boxes in our fridge anyway), CDs (I never listen to them), books (never was a bookworm), stuffed toys (they will go straight to donation drives), jewelry (trust, shopping, etc). I strongly suggest you get her something she could use. Mace, for example. Or, failing to get that, trash my suggestion and bring her to the spa for a whole day of pampering. A merry Christmas indeed!

It's a clever marketing strategy, posting updates by the YUKI N. hours before the site launch. For all that hype, I find the video cheesy (props to Mikuru for being such a sweety). Perhaps it's because Kyon wanted to meet normal people that, being Haruhi's antithesis, the exact opposite happened: after browsing through Kyon's myspace friends, I now firmly believe that he's just the type of guy who attracts odd beings wherever he goes. PS:
Stimuli observed. Reaction most intriguing. Do we do something to induce further actions?
ASAKURA?!? PPS: Any news on the second season? Is it really gonna be Tsuruya-centric?

Hey cancer! Thank you for providing a link to that wonderful site. I'm sure a lot of members interested in graphic design (I myself including) would like to know how to make some of the images on choleraart as well. However, I believe that a single tutorial cannot cover all the techniques he/she/it used in his/her/its artworks. Also, if it were possible to make one, I fear that it would go unanswered (unless, of course, the artist of choleraart is a member of this forum and wishes to divulges his/her/its trade secrets to the general public). What our fellows here in OtakuBoards can provide though are tutorials about certain effects. Perhaps we should start small and make requests for particular techniques, yeah? For example, you could try requesting a coloring tutorial that will simulate the paint spray in this picture. That's something a lot of us here can do so chances of your request being fulfilled are relatively better. ;D

Yay! I got me a new Totoro pattern! (Thanks, L!) I'm gonna make one and use it for a pincushion, yessirree. Yep, another mini-Totoro doll! I got the pattern from http://heavens-hellcat.livejournal.com/420.html. Really cool doll. I didn't have stuffing around at the time I finished it so I filled it with old underwear. XD Behind it is an SD Hyaku Shiki I'm planning to repaint tomorrow (marigold is soooo tacky). Gonna use gold nail polish 'cause I can't find any other type of paint.

It would be unwise to sticky this thread now 'cause things tend to be ignored up there in the sticky box. (XP) I would also like to monitor this thread's progress and popularity; nothing says "This thing needs a revamp" more than falling out of the first page. Worry not, White. With all the wonderful tutorials everyone has put up in the span of two weeks, I am confident that this little project will last more than two months. Oh btw, the Pen Tool tutorial will be up before Sunday. Look forward to it! Also, if you have a good trick you want to share, don't wait for a request! Feel free to put it up! PS: Thanks and good luck to my dear deputy, KW!

Had I looked at this thread earlier, I never would've crammed the Magic Wand/Lasso Tool part of my tutorial. XD Wonderful job, KW! You even listed what specs to check/uncheck after saving. I have a suggestion: perhaps you could include saving transparent images as .png files?

While the search for a new Event Master is a community event, the events aren't. It's not a community event if only a few members can participate. Don't rattle your brains making up of far-out rules that'll give them run-of-the-mill RPGs their much needed makeovers. It just makes you look like you're trying too hard (plus it makes them RPGs reaaaaally forgettable). "Not fancy words nor flashy graphics", ain't that a call against gordian games? Why not do a popularity contest instead? Sure it ain't creative but it's simple and fun and drama-riffic; that's why it's always a hit among the members. How about a Where's Wally/Waldo/Whoever type of contest where members will look for hidden quirks (intentional typographical errors, short notes from the staff) all over OB?

Hello again, dear fellows! Due to circumstances not unfamiliar to students cramming their theses and research papers, I will be unable to visit Art Studio and take care of this project. That's why to keep this project from dying young, I am in need of 2 members who can oversee the requests and tutorials until I get back. Please PM me if you wish to apply.

I'd like to request a tutorial on mirroring images. Everytime I try to copy text or an image, and then flip the copied image, it just flips the whole thing. Thanks.
Try extracting the part you want to flip first then put that in a new layer Flip that layer (Edit > Transform). Perhaps we should put up a thread where member can ask questions that have one-step solutions just like this. Yeah, and it could double as a request thread as well!

Opening post updated! * Set up the Tutorials Index * Added cancer's, Ezekiel's and Keyblade Wielder's tutorials to the index * Added Eclipse's and Epsilon's requests * Added White's and Epsilon's tutorials to the list of projects in progress Thanks everyone!

Opening post updated! * Added indifference's suggestion * Added Ezekiel's and cancer's tutorials to the list of projects in progress Thanks everyone!
Do we start the thread on our own or do we send it to you to open? That way they'll know which member to ask. ^_^
What if you try gathering the tutorials to unleash a bunch them at one time and request an announcement for the whole idea? >:3
Ah wait. Did you mean a) release tutorials by batches or; b) release them one at a time? (I'm being quite the dunce today.)

While he's at it, somebody please remind him that the days of the week, the planets, the year tag "A.D.", most of California, etcetera, etcetera got their names from various religious institutions. Forgive me if this sounds like I'm throwing a straw man into the argument, but if he's pissed with the government "inculcating religious beliefs" upon his daughter, clearly he should rethink the way he's indoctrinating her with atheism and the ideology of his institution. Atheism IS another religion, for chrissa--I mean, what the he--****.

WAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!! THANK YOU KW! *huggles* Ehrm. Yes, just like the banner you posted. Oh, you probably know this but just in case: do provide reference pictures. And please indicate which program(s) you're using. Meanwhile I'll do the Image Extraction tutorial. Toodles!

I like this idea alot, and I'm glad you're going to be continuing the general idea of GFX Class. I may have missed it or something, but if we're going to be posting tutorials in another thread, will there be an index of all tutorials in this thread? And are members allowed to request tutorials?
Each tutorial will be listed here together with a link to its thread. And yes, the invitation to request tutorials is extended to all members of this forum. Public service is the name of the game, yeah? ~*~*~ I thought it would be best if we could start early with this project, lest we all grow tired of toying with the idea and completely lose interest. So, if anyone wants to make tutorials for the topics here, please inform me in this thread. The threads will follow the format below: Thread title: [T] [difficulty rating] (ex: [T] How to Make Speedlines [A])
[T] - is of course the tag which will identify it as a tutorial - self-explanatory. Here you put the subject, preferably with the same title as the title in the Request list [difficulty rating] - the suggested minimum level of expertise needed to comprehend the tutorial.

E : Easy
A : Average
D : Difficult

Cooperative tutorials are also very much welcome.

Letters
When this does start up, are you going to take anybodys tutorials? Or only specific people who sign up ahead of time? Just thought I'd ask because I would surely love to join something as useful and resourceful as this. Wow, another great art thread... how long has it been? Well, I can't wait until this starts up and start to give some of my techniques that I've used forever... this'll be fun! But this also reminds me of a different thread that Retribution started awhile back until it died... something like 'GFX Class' of some sort?
Yes Trib did put up a GFX Club Class a year ago. In my opinion, there was too much information squeezed in one thread, and had it continued further, I imagine it would be quite tedious to go through the whole thread just to see if the tutorial you want is there or not. But that's not to say that it was a bad idea; on the contrary, it was well-meant and was able to serve its purpose to many members. It needs a little organization, that's all. Before we can start the activity proper, we need to list down tutorials that we want to see. We should start with the basics, I think, though tutorials for advanced users are also welcome. Anyone can put up a tutorial. Each tutorial should be posted in a new thread that will also serve as a platform for questions, corrections and comments regarding the tutorial. That way, we can have the input of the whole community on the subject, yeah?
It will be interesting as well to see how artists using different programs do certain things, mm? *PaintShopPro ftw* In fact, now that sakurasuka seems to have disappeared, I fear I'm left with Boo only in the PSP camp ): sux 2 b me I'd like to contribute to this, and perhaps it would be a nice idea for people to request tutorials for specific, more detailed pointers? I myself wouldn't mind knowing a few tricks some of my favourite artists use, so it would be beneficial to the seasoned GFXer as well as a beginner.
I was hoping one of you PSP aesthetes would drop by. ^^ Aside from an index of tutorials, a list of requested topics will also be kept. Requests, as well as posts stating one's intention of taking on a request, should be directed to this thread. End of Letters Section Here we list tutorials we want to see:

How to Make Borders
How to Extract Images
Anti-Aliasing
How to make brushes
Typography
Transparent Backgrounds
Basic subjects. Advanced stuff are also welcome. Suggest more topics pl0x. :catgirl:

My dear fellows, things are getting pretty boring around here. I propose we take on a new project. No, it's not another tournament; it's something that will be useful not only to us but to other members as well. A series of tutorials for those who wish to learn and are interested in graphic design is what I have in mind. The essentials (making borders, image extraction, etcetera) will be covered first and then perhaps we could move on to more advanced and specific subjects like rendering objects from scratch. Time to do a little public service.
NOW UP EASY Custom Brushes by cancer Typography by Ezekiel How to Make Borders by White AVERAGE Transparent Backgrounds/ Image Extraction Using the Magic Wand by Keyblade Wielder Using the Pen Tool by Delta
Requested Topics Anti-Aliasing Animated Images In Progress Using Layers - Epsilon Adjusting Color Levels - Keyblade Wielder

Hmm. Odd.
There weren't any tanks in episodes 5-7 nor were there extensive accounts of 901-ATT. What was interesting though was the explanation behind the unit's code number. If that was true the perhaps GITS' "Section 9" was based on the same military tradition as well?
BTW, I heard that they were skipping an arc in the manga. Is this true? PS: Oreld gets cuter each episode. Love him.
