Hmmm...well, I can be pretty annyoing, but the person at my school who annoys me the most is this kid at my high school (I won't name names, but Misenke should know who he is) who always calls me to ask about this one stupid video game. He has no sence of direction, so it's impossible to walk him through something in a video game. Also, whenever I have to do chores or go somewhere when I'm on the phone with him, he ALWAYS continues the conversation until I literally have to almost hang up on him. But, to get back to my first point, I can be really annoying when I want to, and it's usually different for different people. Still, though, I don't like annoying people unless it's the first day of april or I'm just having a bad day.

I had been careless, almost outright foolish, but I would not let it happen again. I had lost my head against that prissy, high talking, pretentious bitch. I was an assassin, not a fighter, but I was outshown by some urchin girl, and I was not going to let it happen again. I looked over to the inn, and leapt towards it. I landed on the awning, and I surveyed the streets, empty spare a few town guards. Then I leapt down, and slinked into the dark of the top floor. Karel had to be somewhere in here. I slinked downstairs, and looked into the empty, but disturbingly well-lit room. I pulled my tanto out, and surveyed the room. A woman sat, half asleep, at the main desk, and there was no one else in the room. I dissapeared, and snuck behind the woman. Swiftly, I grabbed her by the neck and placed my tanto to her neck, using my other hand to cover her mouth. Fortunantly the scream, which could have woken the entire town, was rather well muffled by my gloves. When she stopped screaming, I slowly let my hand off of her mouth. "Who-what...?" She was scared, and it was obvious. "If you call for the guards, you will be dead and I will be gone before you're done screaming." I was not trying to make her tense and scared, then she would be completely unpredictable, and wouldn't talk. "What do you want?" "There was a young boy who checked in here earlier, bv the name of Karel Kaitsen. What room is he in?" "Second...floor, last room on the left..." "Thank you." I batted her on the head with the blunt end of my Tanto, she fell unconcious. Careful not to alert anyone, I locked the front door and put out all the lights in the lobby. Surprisingly, I hadn't wasted much time. I walked up to the room, and opened the door, greeted by dim firelight and the sound of complete silence... OOC: Alright, someone else's turn to post, I guess.

Does Tidus and Yuna's Last Embrace count? Because if it does, that's one of my favorites. Nobuo Uematsu is a freakin' GENIUS! Also, I really like My Will, and Dearest (from Inuyasha 3rd season) as well as the theme from Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner...what was it's name again...? Oh, Well, I'll think of it.

There are so many great games coming out, that all I can do is list the one game I really want for each console. Gamecube: Metrod Prime 2: Echoes; I really liked the first one, and this sequel looks really cool, from what I've seen of it. Really, I'd like it if it was the exact same as the first one, with slightly revamped graphics and maybe a few more weapons. Oh, yeah, and make it a lot longer, because you could get through Prime in a weekend, but man, what a weekend it was. X-Box: Fable; It's close, but Fable looks better than Halo 2 (please don't hurt me...) I'm more of an RPG fan, and the only RPG worth buying on the X-box is KOTOR. This game looks stunning, and the gameplay looks like a mix between Morrowind and KOTOR, which is a very interesting mix. PS2: Kingdom Hearts II: I myself was skeptical when Square decided to cross Final Fantasy and Disney, but Kingdom Hearts 1 was one of the funnest RPGs i've ever played, mainly because the combat wasn't your standard mash X stuff that is in most RPGs nowadays. I also want to play FFXII, but that's not coming out until, like, summer next year, is it? Edit: GBA: Hmmm...well, I have to say that I am anticipating absolutely nothing on the GBA this year. And for everyone who wants to yell at me about KH:COM, I't got the card-combat system, what else has to be said? Besides, I still need to catch up on the old, great titles that I missed. Alright, so those are the big three. I don't have much that I want this holiday, because all the good games are coming out in 2005, along with the DS and PSP.
Speaking of Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, I would have to say the fight with Anubis in compressed space was one of the more harder fights (Harder doesn't necessarly mean bad) i've seen in awhile. Besides the fact that Jehuty is pretty much crippled except for his melee attacks really...really[/I']...made that one hell of a fight. Of course, using Zero Shift (Which was way more cooler than anything else I have to say) made that into one climatic fight. .
I have two fights that stick out in my mind as the best fights in any game: Anubis in compressed space (hence the quote) was one of the coolest 'boss' fights I have ever played, mainly because of the sheer intensity of it. You're completely crippled from your last fight inside the fortress, and you are immediately shoved into this climactic battle with the real Anubis...
and it still wasn't the final boss fight
(which was also very cool)! Sorry if that spoiled it for anyone. Still, however...one of my favorite boss fights of all time is Ganondorf from Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker. That battle stands out because the combat system in that game was so much deeper than in past Zeldas. Man, what I wouldn't give to play that for the first time again... P.S. I still don't know why most of you hated Windwaker! :flaming: Added spoiler tags -- if you think something might spoil a part of the game for people, please put it inside spoiler tags. Take a look at the sticky thread at the top of the forum for more details. Thanks. - Desbreko

Whew. What an ending to this crazy first RPG. The tourney was canceled, and my character, Amare Takenawa, emerged with a seriously hurt arm and a whole lotta third degree burns. What a mad, mad, universe we live in. BTW, I think Misenke's post was spam, but then again, so is this. Anyway, thanks to everyone for not being too harsh about my noob status. C ya all.

I ran, as fast as I can for as long as I could, through the brush and the leaves. The only sound I heard was the whistling of wind through the monstrous trees and the occasional snapping of a twig underfoot. I began to slow the second I saw a small, tranquil village, sleeping in the safety of the forest. I was angry, and fed up with the audatious bastard-child called Kaitsen Karel. A tired-looking guard walked up to me as I reached the outskirts of the villiage. "Who goes there? What business have you in Takane?" Carefully rehearsed, he didn't miss a beat when he spoke, yet I think it still sounded strange to even him. The last thing I wanted to deal with was a weakling militiaman, so I fell into the shadows. After all these years it still felt strange every time I dissapeared. I felt a small grin on my lips as the guard turned about and walked back to his post, muttering about how tired he must have been. I landed on the dark city streets, looking for someone who may know if Karel was in this villiage. Light poured out of a nearby tavern, and voices drifted onto the otherwise quiet streets. I walked in, I was trained to go days without eating or sleeping, but I was still thirsty. I crept in, to the last few standing tables and a few groups of less than savory people. I walked past, keeping my ears open for any idle chatter about Karel Kaitsen. Reaching the bar, I sat straight on the cleanest-looking stool and tried to ignore the barkeep. "What'll it be, sir?" He said in a low, tired drawl. "Nothing." I sat there, listening in on the idle, boorish chatter of everyone in the dusty room. Suddenly, I heard something very interesting. "...and we would have, too, if it hadn't been for that damnable kid, what was his name?" "Something Karel." I sat up, and looked around for who was saying this. It was a group of men, all rather cut up and covered in bandages. Huh, obviously Karel hadn't lost his edge. "I should go kill that kid right (hic) now." "No way, you saw what he did to the rest of us, how could we possibly handle that kinda swordsmanship?" I began to walk over to them, confidently, smirking. The most wounded one looked at me, and his eyes quickly narrowed. "What're you doin', (hic) here?" He said. "Konichiwa, fellows. I believe I have a solution to your problem." The men looked at each other. "You've got my (hic) attention." "All you have to tell me is where Kaitsen Karel is, and I'll take care of him." I smiled, this drunken morons would tell me anything. "What makes you think you can handle (hic) him?" One of them piped up. My grin widened. "Because I am an assassin. Killing people is my profession." They all stiffened at the word assasssin. Smiling, I picked up one of the glasses and poured the rice wine into my mouth. I looked down at the petty theives, who were obviously terrified. "Cheers, boys, cheers." I walked out of the building, and toward the inn.

"Huh, this kid had obviously underestimated me, thinking that I could not see his hiding place... I crept toward his hiding place, quickly and silently, as a shadow in the night. He was resting. Perfect. I slinked up the branches to the near-top of a neighboring tree. Looking down, I was about twenty feet above his 'camp', and he didn't seem to know I was there. I decided to dissappear, and leap over to his tree. Unfortunantly, that made more noise than it should have. Still, he looked as if he didn't know I was there. Lucky, lucky me. I began to slide down the tree, readying my tanto for a quick stealkthy kill, if it were possible. I was very close now, about five feet above him, by my reckoning. I still didn't think he knew I was here, and I readied my tanto for the attack..." OOC: Two things. One, this is the last post I can make tonight, so I'm sorry if anyone wanted this to continue more. Second, Misenke, you were a little aloof on what exactly I am supposed to do, or more namely, how far my assassin gets, so sorry if this goes too far or not far enough, but I didn't want to start god-modding and have your character do something. Again, sorry.

I'm currently diggin' The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. I've been playing that game for more than a month and I'm still finding tons of new stuff. I just barely beat the main plot yesterday! It's really immersive, and the plot is really open and it leaves you to a lot of improvisation. I loved how there was no right or wrong way to complete a quest. Other games...hmmm... I really like any Legend of Zelda, but Ocarina is definantly my favorite. I also didn't see what everyone's problem with Windwaker was. WW is probably my second favorite in the entire series. I also really liked Super Mario 64, it had some really great levels, and you never forgot where anything was, even months after beating it. I like most Final Fantasies, but I like VIII or X the most. I thought seven redefined the series, but eight refined the formula to almost perfection. Oh, and I also love Fire Emblem, if that wasn't obvious already. Hmm... I also really liked Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, for the PS1. Anyway, I really don't have a favorite game, but those are my favorites.

One word (or is it three?) Yu-Gi-Oh! My experience with that show was, like, ten minutes, and then I immediately changed channels. Other bad animes...let's see...Aeon Flux is pretty bad, mainly because the story is so convoluted you can't tell what's going on. Pokemon is obviously one of the worst, for the same reasons a Yu-Gi-Oh! DBZ, and all of it's different incarnations, because if you've seen an episode, you've pretty much seen every episode. I'll post again or edit this if I think of anything else, but it's hard for me to hat an anime unless it's really, really bad.

BTW, I signed up for Winds of Sorrow, so quit bugging me! P.S. Sorry that this is spam.

I'm really exited about POP 2, although I'm kind of mad that it won't be coming out until 2005. Anyways, I didn't have any major problems with the fighting system in POPL SOT, except that you could do the same moves over and over in every fight. It was still better than mostaction titles out there, except Ninja Gaiden and Devil may Cry. I'm glad that Ubi soft is making it a little less repetitive.

Either has to be the Tetsusaiga or the Tensaiga. If Sesshomaru really wanted, he could bring an entire dead army back to life under his control. The cross punisher is also my favorite weapon in Trigun, exept, wait, does the angel arm count?

Discuss Why doesn't anyone sign up for my RPG?
Beorhun replied to Albel the Wicked's topic in Theater
Very true. I'm still a newbie, so I am taking it slower, and reading a lot of RPGs before I try to make my own. I made that mistake before. So, just keep at it and make a name for yourself. Then people will start doing your RPGs. -
First off, Misenke, I think you're kind of overdoing things. I may still be a newbie, but I've noticed that you're putting a lot of RPGs out and doing a lot of RPGs at the same time. No offense, but that is obviously a very bad idea. You could easily lose track of what RPGs you're doing, and you could also make a lot of people angry by not posting on an RPG you've signed up for when you're supposed to. I'm not a moderator, or even an accomplished member, but I'd take it a little slower than what you're doing here. I may be wrong, however. It's your decision.

Position: Either Sin Assassin or Sin Master, because I've never really been the bad guy. Name: Hanzo Katenagi Age: 28 Weapons: Katana, Kozukas, and Tanto. Skills: He is stealthy and hard to catch, even in broad daylight, very acrobatic, incredibly fast. Appearance: Few people have ever seen Hanzo's face, but he does have a large cut under his left eye. He wears all black, and has a dark, dark grey cloak. Personality: Quiet, mysterious, and almost sociopathic. Hanzo has pretty much lived his entire life as an assassin, so he never really grows emotionally attached to anyone. Bio: Very little is known about Hanzo's past, but he has been a member of Sin since he was younger than Karel. There are a number of rumors flying around, but no one really knows much about him. Like I said, no one knows much about him because he rarely speaks to anyone. Sign: Aries So there, I finally signed up!

Alright, I fully respect that, but I think that it was pretty fair, we're both kind of in the same noob status. He caught on just as fast as I did. I don't exactly know wether or not he exactly knew what he was doing, but he handled the match really quite well, except for a few out of character references, which I am also guilty of. I think ultimamilz chose us because we were both newbies and we both had no freakin' clue on what we were doing. Also, ultimamilz and Dragon Warrior gave us a lot of help. After we completely screwed up the first match, they helped us out and we were able to complete the match like most people do. So, in that respect, we did kind of get a rematch when we knew what we were doing. Maybe Misenke should get a rematch, I don't know...
He slit your throat your dead.
Uh, yeah, Misenki, I don't think anyone could survive that (Sorry). Hey, though, if it's any consollation...My character probably collapsed due to his wounds. Good fight, I think/hope.

Sorry that this post is so late, I got booted off the computer befroe I saw Misenke's reply. "The fireball hit me with enough power to knock me off my feet, singing my skin and burning the cloth on my left arm. I looked over at my opponent, on his knees, gasping with what I assumed were his final breaths. I, myself, was doubting if I could win this fight. Even if I did, my left arm would be damaged almost beyond repair. I got traces if a second wind, or was it just that I was less wounded than this 'Karel'? No, I was sore and bleeding all over. Regardless, I hefted up my wakazashi, it felt heavier than ever. I looked at my opponent again, he was not so different than me. I was not sure what I looked like right now, but it couldn't have been any better than my battered and bleeding opponent. I limped over to him, gasping for breath, and I made what I believed would be the final attack in this fight. I brought the blade down around his neck. He looked up at me with half-dead eyes, and I pulled the blade out, leaving a cut in his upper neck." '...forgive me.'
-
"Obviously this 'Karel' had some more fire left in him, but he's run out of steam, and I've run out of pity. He butchered me when I was trying to give him mercy! I didn't know if he had the strength to finish me, but I knew I had the anger to finish him. I looked down at the numerous cuts up and down my chest and stomach, and the large gash on my left shoulder, which had rendered the entire arm numb. I had dropped my left wakazashi, and I was literally unable to pick it back up. It was no matter, I only needed one sword to finish him. I made a few slashes at his face and chest, and finally lunged at his chest."
-
"I stopped. I stared at him and realized the loss of my honor. He was just a kid. I knew that pity would lead to my downfall, but I couldn't help it. Would defeating him result in the loss of my honor? What made him different from the countless other people that I had killed? Most importantly, was there a way out of this having both of us live? I knew what had to be done, but I was afraid to do it. I lifted my wakazashi into the air and brought it down across the kid's face." Hopefully that works. No one's said anything, so either we're doing something right or we seriously screwed up. BTW, I'm not sure if you can say what I'm going to do, although I'm pretty sure you can't.
-
"He came at me with a few strikes, I tried to dodge, but a few clipped me and one horizontal slash made a small cut in my stomach. This hotheaded, cocky kid had underestimated me. How exactly that sword was legal in this tournament was a mystery to me. I would leave that to the judges, obviously they had approved of it. I quickly analyzed the situation. He obviously believed me to be dumb or cocky enough to make an attack. I guess that, to make this interesting, I would have to attack him, while maintining an element of surprise. I immdediately swung around him and slashed at his ankles, attempting to bring him down." Does that work?
-
Well, since Karel has such quick reflexes, I think he would be able to dodge the hit by jumping in the air and striking down with a vertical strike, which is aimed for the head. After that I would probabley follow it up by having the Rune Sword fire one of them Dark Magic balls I was talking about. To finish this up, he swithces to the offense and makes a fury of blade strikes. I would first slightly sheeth my sword and then have the first strike be a draw slash aimed for hi torso. The second slice would be a vertical slice to his right shoulder then followed by an upward slice to the left shoulder for his third swipe. After that it would be a diagonal slice toward over his torso and all the way down to the legs. As his two final slashes he aims for the legs and quickley after that would aim for the back. Probabley after that, since Karel is so confident in his skills, he'd taunt his opponent.
You can't go posting like that, that's why I edited my post. You can't make an unbeatable chain of moves, not letting your opponent react, otherwise the match would go to whoever was first! Cripes! Also, you can't just off and say 'oh, that missed' or 'oh, i dodged that' , otherwise the whole thing is moot! Also, sorry, I've only been on for, like, a day, and I figure this is the only way I'll learn. Forgive me. Also, thanks to Dragon Warrior for standing my ineptitude. My title might as well be 'noob'. It's obvious enough.
-
You sure we can't have a theme song? Just kidding. Ok serious time now. I'm just going to start the fight off by standing my ground and being ready to counterattack. That's pretty much it
So do I go now? Sorry, this is my first OB RPG (i like acronyms) Well, I would attempt to divert Karel with some acrobatics, just to throw him off. I would flip forward and to my left, then roll to the right, keeping my swords sheathed. I would pretty much just try to distract him. That's about it. P.S. Edited this. Sorry, this is my first RPG, I'll learn.
-
HA HA HA HA HA! I would like to see the day! I don't think that you know it, but, uh, my sword is the Rune Sword and well, WAIT! Why don't you just check out my weapon name description and that will tell you.
Well, the day is in plain sight. I don't need a phony rune sword to sit behind. I win on strength alone!
