Having finally made a full team decision and decided on one song (there's only three of us anyways, so really there wasn't much debate), we have began a search for the MP3/MIDI and have began to write the lyrics out. The main thing now is just simply finding the music and uploading it. Otherwise, the lyrics themselves are running quite smoothly. Like I said before, decision on the song was done by all team members, Darren and myself have been collaborating to write the lyrics, and Kitty has taken it onto herself to provide special graphics. We are all working together to find the MP3/Midi.

Well, if you find it on a site where it's already uploaded, we can just use the URL of the MP3/midi. Otherwise if you get it elsewhere and it's not uploaded on the web, e-mail it to me and I'll get it up there. the_forgotten_link@yahoo.com is my e-mail. :) -

Kitty will still be gone for a few more days, so for time sake, we might have to make the executive decision right now. She can, however, help with the writing when she returns. But I also agree. "This Is Halloween" is more fun, though darker, albeit. Haha. So it has been decided! Now we need either an MP3 or midi of just the music. And so, the desperate search began... -

Haha, that's funny. I was thinking "This Is Halloween" and "Prince Ali" as well! Well, I think those two are actually our best bets as it is. They both work very nicely :) But I'm not about to make some large executive decision on my own. Which one do you guys wish for and do we all agree on it? -

Um, yeah, just look into some Disney beats. Like "Acuna Matada" (sp?) and "Be Our Guest" and stuff like that. Really, those kind of songs work wonders. I think if we hit it off with a Disney beat, we'd get some good looks our way. We'll spend the next day hunting, I s'pose. But we oughta crack down on a song as soon as we can. As you said, it's up to finding the mp3 of it as well (or midi, even). -

I was thinking that we should do something from an original score, such as music from Disney's Aladdin or Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas. Perhaps the song "What's This?" with different wording, of course. Just an idea. I think that'd run smoother than a real song, and finding a version without words is simpler. Thoughts? -

Okay, folkies, it's quite obvious how we can go about this new challenge. It's a parody of a song, and hell!--what is our team about? Comedy! So parodies of songs should be right up our alley. I do it all the time, in fact. We gotta get all Weird Al on this challenge. Having said that, there's a lot of ways to go about it, of course. Do we do a song about how cool we are, or how people should be like us and enjoy the humor in life, or whatever? Plus, we need to choose a song, particularly one we can launch on here. I'll now open the floor to the two of you to throw out some ideas. I don't want to sound too overwhelming already and say, "We're doing it this way!" But I do think perhaps a humorous take on a song is the right way to go (and probably Sandy's intention in the first place). -

No problem about losing. You did the best you could and a fine job. It was by large better than what I could have done out there. You were the best choice. We didn't gain anyone, but we also didn't lose anyone, so we may continue on to conquer! And if that is really what you want, I shall accept Captain again. -

It's eventually gonna get down to the nitty gritty and you're going to have to do a lot of things you're not gonna wanna. I, for one, am willing. But all the same, that's what makes this fun. And those other bands rock, Darren. I only don't recognize two (Temposhark & Ted Leo). -

Oh, my mistake. Haha. I must've misread it earlier and thought you actually liked debating. I wish we each could do one (you the opening, me the argument, Kitty the rebuttal), but I guess it's not in the cards like that. And I'm assuming you're referring to Forensics as in "competitive acting and speech" rather than the police investigation of dead bodies. Haha. I did Forensics as well. Being an actor, I did Duo all four years of high school, though. Well, my first three years I did Duo. My senior year I did both Dramatic Interpretation and a Multiple. But yes, The Shins will not let you down. If you like their older stuff such as what's on "Chutes Too Narrow," then I'm sure the songs like "Phantom Limb" (their single) and "Girl Sailor" are for you. But they still have their style and their old flavor. I'm just partial to the two new songs on that CD "Australia" and "A Comet Appears." Delish! I like all the bands you mentioned as well (not so much Taking Back Sunday, though... I like 'em, but they're only okay to me. Haha). I'd be a major Green Day fan, I'm sure, if they weren't so publicly used all the time. I try not to let fans ruin my experiences with bands, but sadly I have heard "Time Of Your Life (Good Riddance)" fifty times through slideshows at my school alone! That song was good, but not after it was overplayed to death. I will say "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is one of their best, though, and even if it's also played a lot, it isn't ruined yet. Haha. Still, we all love Jimmy Eat World! ;) And does Auto Escape have a myspace? Maybe I can check them out. -

I have sent back my response :) Good work. I'm really diggin' it and you definitely are a "master debater" ;) You weren't just tooting your own horn when you said it was something you enjoyed doing because you are good at it. I'm convinced, haha. Well, I should be. Anyways, onward! PS: Haha, yes, you did mix "affect" and "effect" around, but no biggie. I fixed it ;) -

If you'd like me to look it over, I can any time. Just simply PM it my way and I'll read through ASAP :) But ohhh, now you're making it complicated. I have to add more than just naming my favorite bands :P So be it... besides, the list I posted above is old. I can't even remember my own favorite bands. Haha. 1) Live Favorite Song: "Simple Creed" This band has fully influenced my musical tastes ever since I first listened to their song "Overcome," then opened up to their CD my sister owned called "Secret Samadhi." They were around one of the first bands I got into. I used to not be very interested in music (which is crazy, 'cause now music is my life since I'm a musician), and I can thank Live for being one of those bands that helped me into the music scene. I can fairly say I like every one of their songs and eagerly await each tour date they're near me or CD that they release. Naturally that means I have all their CDs, and their music plagues my iPod. I have a million favorites by these guys, but I guess "Simple Creed" takes the cake... for now. 2) Waking Ashland Favorite Song: "Medication" Like how Live was one of the first bands to influence me, Waking Ashland is by far the newest band to ever change my life. Their music has influenced a lot of mine for the few bands I've been in, not to mention some of my solo work. Their music is what I go to if I'm feeling down or even need something for a long drive somewhere. They're definitely what I call a "Let's Go Home" band because they put that kind of good feeling in you. They have a sound like none other. If Live didn't exist, they'd be #1 to me... and right now, they're scratchin' the heels of Live, so... 3) The Shins Favorite Song: "Australia" I just bought their newest CD... and can fairly say that they're one of the only bands (aside from ones like Live and Waking Ashland) that I actually own all the CDs to. These guys also influence me a lot with their unusual sound that I can't really compare to anywhere else. Some of their songs are very beautiful but psychadelic zany, while others are upbeat and bouncy. It's hard to explain how they sound 'cause they really have their own appeal. You are ten pages cooler for liking them, Darren. Bytheway, their new CD is air-mazing! 4) Prozzak (Now referred to as "Simon And Milo") Favorite Song: "Europa" These guys date back to my younger years in the 90's. I wasn't much for music back then (like I said, Live was around the time I really got into the scene), but I still somewhat enjoyed them. Perhaps it's because they used cartoons for their music videos. These guys are a Canadian Band with a club/electronica/pop twist, mixed in with some sweet flaminco guitar stylings. Two band members, Simon and Milo, write about the endless tales of them trying to find love in the world. Each song tells a new story. Many will shun these guys since they're so poppy (not like Backstreet Boys, but a different poppy... not poppyseed either...). After I really started getting into music, these guys, like Live, were one of my first favorites. They've stuck through and now go by the name Simon and Milo. I'll continue to enjoy their beats that make you just wanna dance! 5) Aqualung Favorite Song: "Extra Ordinary Thing" Being a pianist, it's no surprise I enjoy this band (which is really just one guy, but ya know). His beats are all very beautiful and calming, and you can really hear the artistic side to things. Many may know his more popular stuff such as "Strange And Beautiful" or "Brighter Than Sunshine." It's a very low-key style; very slow indeed. If you're down or just need something to calm you, Aqualung normally prevails for me. Mixed with some Waking Ashland, it's the perfect beat to a long day... or a long drive home from a long day. -

I'm partial to "It's Time To Dance," obviously :P Haha. But I'm not obsessed either. There are plenty of other bands I'm completely in love with. Pretty awesome about the film making :) I love making indie films as well. We should definitely discuss our works together. Well, I will take up the task, but I strongly suggest you two debate this. This topic is actually one of my worst and I don't think I'd be up to par for it. Heck, I'd take abortion over it, haha. For one thing, I know nothing about cannibis or mary jane, and for sure can't really come up with successful reasons why it's good (aside from medical purposes). This isn't my strongest point, plus debating is a weak spot in me. But it is up to you, Darren. Shotgun... -

What a sexy chapter with all the good sexy sex a sexy sex-craved person such as me could possibly sex up in one sexy sex-infested night! Now that I've lied a little, this chapter was good. Nice description, though a bit boring at times. The action was mainly what I mean. I'm glad you went with the idea of getting something new involved, and things are winding down and fitting into place. Keep it up, loser :^D Love.

Oooookay, here we go. I cannot simply begin to name off the people on these boards that made an impact because the list would be endless. There are those members who are insanely "popular" as put by many, but I think that everyone on the boards is truely a good asset. They may not be known by everyone, but they still contribute to the beauty these boards possess. I somewhat agree with what Shy said; that intelligent posts do gain you respect on here. However, I don't believe people are idiots simply for following those they admire. When it comes down to it, popularity on here isn't about "cute pictures" or staff. Hell, I have neither of those two and I've been mentioned already in this thread! I'm sure others can vouche for the same thing for themselves. People become noticed through personality and contributions to the boards. Takes our good buddy Charles, for example. Many will say he was a loud-mouthed fool who made insulting remarks to several members on numerous occassions. However, his humor and--most importantly--his ideas and concepts for the board earned him not only respecting followers but a comfy position amongst the staff. He was recognized as someone who attempted to make a difference. We may all wish to do that; some may even attempt at it. If you come and make yourself known through your personality (such as Charles' "picture posts" or his "Otakupedia" idea), you'll most likely be considered what we call popular on here. In fact, The OtaKuties contest was aimed toward that--to reveal personalities of members. And I personally believe I've seen some interesting new things come out of members. I'm learning much more about them and I'm happy the contest is going as well as it has. So, yeah, I could name off a lot of members I believe are popular, but I think I'd just end up being biased and say a load of my personal friends. However, popularity on OB really isn't anything special. If your work is good (such as stories, RPGs, graphics, etc.), you'll get replies. Don't worry so much if people like you. It won't get you very far.

Being an actor and speech writer and such, I do have debating skills. I don't like confrontation much, but if I have to do it, I do it. I've never lost a debate at school, so I guess that's a good thing. Don't sell yourself so short yet. We all have our better qualities. I probably won't be the best at this since you're a master debator (chuckle, chuckle). Good thing you're captain now ;) Haha. No worries about the role in the script either, Darren ;) I just needed someone to fill that role and you were the first person I spotted in the "Who's Online" section. Hehe. Nevertheless, welcome aboard! And glad to have ya! Though, BK will be missed... -

I agree with this statement. And I don't see Sandy placing such an exclusive task such as graphics on one team member, especially since everyone has their own skills and abilities like you said. I think it's a safe bet to have you go in, and have Kitty and I sit on the sidelines. I'm not sure what this will entail, but there's only one way to find out. Kitty, what's your input? -

Also, since we have to have one volunteer for the next challenge, I'll leave it up to you two to choose who does it. I think either of you deserve a good chance to do something awesome. Hah, guys, we can't beat ourselves up over this. We all made some mistakes out there. BK and I wrote the script, so heck, a lot of the bad critiques were against us.
