How many times are we to be cursed to see a thread of this exact topic? :P Not to mention I don't think there is a pirate versus ninja fight ever recorded in history. Why do they have such a feud anyways? So to stay on topic, I guess I'll say pirate. I mean, that's obvious (*cough*Custom title*cough*) and c'mon, Jack Sparrow is the shiz. The new pirates movie comes out in a matter of days now and I am psyched, as is a wide portion of the world. I don't recall a ninja movie being as big of a hit as POTC ;) Savvy? Pirates win. Arr, shove that in your cannon, yo!

Sign ups close. The two that'll spar The Boss and me are White and Sakura. Look for the spar thread coming in the Adventure Arena shortly. -
I don't want to die or anything for saying this, but the really, really hardcore screaming bands don't sound like anything to me. I accept all types of music 'cause, yes, there are people out there that like it, so I'm not saying it's not music. I just want to know what they get out of it? The screaming and the instruments are so intense that I can't hear a beat. There's just monotonous noise consistantly playing over a period of time. It can't be for the lyrics 'cause you can't understand a word they say. I just want to know what that's about.

Well, well, all of us are bringing the OB stories back :) White, you sly hobbit, look at what you're writing. I better have a sexy role. I did, after all, make you the main character along side me in our western ;) Or did I? Having said that, it's a good start. My advice is work with the dialogue more. Dialogue is gold to work with, especially if you use puns and play-on-words. Trust me on this. I do like how you're already doing it, though. Little White Walking Hood was a nice change to the actual name. Retribution is one slick archer ;) I await to see where this takes us.

Your first drawing will be simple. Use any medium you wish to complete the task. The only thing I ask is that it's a futuristic space age alien in the middle of combat. Two spots need to be filled.
The Plot::: While hunting a sibling team of bounty hunters, Mr. Dark got caught up in a fight with a bounty hunter sent after him known as Razdul Bones. Upon killing Bones, Dark was assigned to a new mission of tracking a famous hunter named Quell Danjer while he was still on the planet Yoraav. A battle set off as Mr. Dark fought Quell Danjer, bounty hunter versus bounty hunter. Though they both were wounded, they were equally matched. A truce was made and the two partnered up. Mr. Dark lied and told his client, Boss Ajax, that Quell had died in combat, to keep things on the downlow. So the two set off together to go hunt own the sibling bounty hunters. They tracked them to Quell's home planet, Dendwenn. See the other two "The Bounty" threads for past fights. It's also the first that allows other roleplayers aside from The Boss and myself. In this spar, you will sign up as one of the two siblings that spar us. The Boss will play Mr. Dark and I will play Quell Danjer. This is a tag-team match so The Boss and I are against two of you. We will leave sign ups open for a few days so we can get a variety of sign ups. Make your characters interesting. This is a sci-fi space bounty hunter spar. He'll concentrate on his target and make sure his hit is damaging. Perhaps that's why he's such a sharp-shooter. Or maybe it's his mechanical arms. Perhaps both. He doesn't anger easily and impatience is not his style. He's mostly calm and even when the going gets tough, tries to keep his cool and plan a new evasive move. He won't show pain, verbally or physically. He always seems to have a trademark positive attitude and tone. Weapons: Quell has become skilled with numerous weapons through his time as a hunter and thief. His obvious and most common choice are pistols solely made for quick shooting. He carries an average of four to five of them on him at a time. Otherwise, he has a crossbow that he's pretty handy with as well. Though not really a weapon, his jetpack can probably be counted too, giving him slight boosts into the air like an unnatural leap. He also has plenty of armor on, even some you don't know that's there. Occassionally, if things get tricky, he'll use rope to lasso in his target. But let's hope things don't get that extreme. Hs mechanical arms also give him a little advantage in strength and accuracy. Skills: Quell is also a Jack of Many Trades. He's one of the best sharpshooters in the Masfaat Galaxy, he's a skilled archer so his crossbow comes in handy, he's not bad with agility, but still relies a lot on mechanics, and he has a sharp eye. He seems to be able to take an unnatural amount of hits, whether from fists or bullets. He's a trooper, that's for sure. There are many skills Quell has obtained, but they have yet to all be reveiled in combat. Any Other Info: Quell Danjer is a well-known hunter in the Masfaat galaxy. He gets hired for numerous odd jobs and occassional high assassinations, but he still resorts to thievery to keep the money flowing. With stealing as his second priority, he focuses mostly on bounty hunting, which, as said before, he's becoming better at. No one really knows what Quell is. He's most likely human or something similar. Many believe him to be a Joraz. This theory is quickly shot down by speculations that he has qualities a Joraz could never possess. Joraz are weak creatures that could never fire a gun as skillfully as he can. If he is a Joraz, he has passed his full potential and reached a new level of Joraz fighting (which they rarely do as it is). The only Joraz quality he really contains is his knowledge of machinery. Joraz are quite intelligent when it comes to mechanics and Quell is no exception. After losing an arm in a hunt on the planet Swer, Quell had a mechanical arm attached on to replace it. After realizing his already-amazing shot with guns was improved because of this, he surgically had hs right arm removed and replaced with another mechanical one, despite the fact that there was no damage present on that limb. He has become one of the best gunslingers in the galaxy. He continues to live on the desert planet Dendwenn because he likes the climate and it's a good place for thieves. He settles himself in the town of Lumdango, a thief capital on the planet. In his most recent duel, he fought Mr. Dark, who was hired to assassinate him. The battle was intense, but a complete draw. He did lose a hand, but after the fight, had it repaired along with any scrapes and wounds received. He is now teamed with Mr. Dark just to make a quick buck... that is, if he survives his next hunt.

"Well, shit," Quell chuckled. Dark was slightly surprised Quell laughed, but kept his guard up. "You got me. And right below the breast armor. How 'bout that." He stroked the wound with his gloved claw. "What're the chances?" Then he slowly rubbed some sort of glue across the wound and it quickly healed back up into a scar, as if it were weeks old. "Old Dendwennian tools," he said, holding the pistols again. "Lots of gunfights." Dark wheezed as the bullets and poison made him feel faint. Quell seemed to blabber on, but his words were lost in Dark's dazed thoughts. But he still kept it together. After waking himself out of his trance and stabbing Quell clear through, he felt he almost overcame the poison. And in truth, his body was slowly starting to. Turned out his inner energy and strength he learned to obtain was stronger than he believed and not even the poison of the bug could hinder his striving spirit. It wasn't long before the cold sweat left Dark's brow and only the bullets made him wince. Summoning his untouchable speed, which he happily regained back after recovering from the poison, he flew towards Quell who was still talking. With his Tenga blade in hand, he took a daring swing. Quell saw this and fired his gun, but unfortunately lost the hand to the blade. Dark chopped it clear off and it fell to the ground limp. Luck wasn't on Dark's side either, though. Flying backward and crashing to the ground, he saw that a bullet had shot right through his chest. Being so close range, Quell's gunfire was even more powerful, like a shotgun. It was a deadly hit, which Dark luckily survived. "That's the second time I've got shot in the chest on this goddamn planet," he mumbled. "What you complainin' 'bout?" Quell shouted. "I lost a god-fersakin' hand over here!" It was true. The two were both now handicapped. Quell wasn't able to pull off his two-pistol shots anymore and Dark had a decent sized hole through his chest. Blood loss was a problem. They were at a stalemate.

Heh, maybe. If I ever feel they're good enough. That's up to if the public would find them as amusing as us here on OB or on deviantART and such. -
Quell began firing his pistol, but Dark expertly deflected every bullet. The blade was too strong for the bullets to break it. Quell took to using two pistols instead of one, challenging Dark's skills a little further. Dark naturally sped up his movements and blocked both assaults of bullets. The two were at a locked match. Wherever Quell shot, Dark blocked, but Dark couldn't move unless he wanted to be pumped full of lead. Eventually Quell stopped. "I'm not dumb enough to run myself down on ammo," he stated, then stood up and fixed the jetpack on his back to a more comfortable position. He scratched his head with his gun barrel (despite the fact he had an iron mask on) and readjusted his hat on his head. Dark stared confused. "What're you, getting more comfortable? We're in the middle of a fight." A shot rang out and suddenly a large log came crashing down and landed on Dark, trapping him against the ground. "Shut yer yap. It's none of yer cotton-pickin' business what I'm doin'." Then he removed a boot. "But if you must know, somethin's jabbin' my foot somethin' awful." After removing a small centipede like creature, Quell closed his eyes and smirked. He put back on his boot and looked over at Dark, who was missing again. "I knew that wouldn't hold him." It sure didn't. Mr. Dark was high above again, Tenga blade drawn, ready to make some form of sneak attack. He crept softly on the moss-covered branches, but Quell's uncanny sense of hearing picked up and he chucked something upward at Dark. Dark saw it coming and readied his sword. The red blur was far too small to hit and he missed by a millimeter. It latched on and he felt a sting. It was the red centipede. Dark pulled it off and chucked it. "Those fellers are poisonous," he heard Quell shot from below. "I have the antidote, but yer gonna have ta pry it out of my cold, metallic fingers, partner."

The sounds of the jungle became more noticeable as things grew eerily quiet. Species of insects zipped by while birds of prey swooped in to get their favorite treat, a baby millow-marrow rat. Things were quiet for some time before a vine latched to Dark's leg and tugged. Dark slipped off the tree branch, but latched on by his hands. Looking back, he saw Quell at the other end of the vine. Using the plant as a rope lasso, he tried to pull his prey over. Dark was smarter than that. Using one of his knives, he cut the vine from his leg, held onto the end and swung up towards Quell, unsheathing his sword. The blade came swinging dangerously close to Quell's head, but he ducked and side-stepped in time for Dark to miss. They were at close-range combat, Dark's specialty. Defenseless at the moment, Quell took evasive action and rocketed away, using his jetpack to fly off the branch quickly and land neatly on the soft mossy ground below. He peered up at his opponent, who sheathed his sword and eyed Quell back. It wasn't long before Dark grew impatient of Quell's contant taunting and leapt down from the high treetops to a spot on the ground a distance away from Danjer. Little did Dark know, but Quell was prepared for that move. Upon impact, the ground collapsed under Dark's feet and he fell a good twenty feet or so to a rocky bottom. Cracks were heard as if he had broken something due to the fall. He winced a bit and heard a rather annoying cackle. "Woo, what have we got 'ere?" Then Quell showed his face from the top of the pit. Well--what you could see of his face. "Caught a tiny millow-marrow rat in my trap." Dark despised the uncanny jargon Dendwennians used. Their metaphors were horrid. "So you made me fall," Dark muttered. "A lot of good that'll do you." "Heh, yeah," Quell agreed while he aimed a pistol at Dark. The hole was too little to maneuver around to dodge so he really was like a trapped millow-marrow rat. "Easier than shootin' fish in a barrel." He laughed once more, then fired.

The rules are laid out. The story is in the Profiles thread. We each get four posts. Let's go. The forest grew hotter as Dark traversed deeper into the jungle. He looked in all directions at once from the treetops to the mossy ground his boots crunched. The canopy was thick and sunlight barely seeped through, but light wasn't scarce, nevertheless. Dark wiped the sweat from his brow and studied the junglescape. Yoraav was different during the day. He heard noises as animals slithered past, some hunting, some scared and retreating to their habitat. There was a fungus smell that loomed in the air and gagged Mr. Dark. He wanted to choke and cough, but kept his attention on the matter at hand. After seeking medical attention, he received the last bit of information on his quarry. A bounty hunter named Quell Danjer. Dark knew of Danjer, for sure. He was one of the better hunters in this miserable galaxy. He didn't know a lot about Quell, though. Not enough to plan against his maneuvers. Normally, if he had more time, he'd study up, but this was supposed to be a quick job. Dark couldn't figure why. Quell was a more experienced hunter than that waste of space Razdul Bones. Questions clouded his head and he tried to toss them away to keep his mind on the mission. A gunshot woke him from his daze. Standing about 150 feet away was Quell Danjer. His cloak flowed in the gentle jungle breeze and his right pistol barrel smoked from the recent shot. Dark stood and stared. That was simply a warning. Quell was a much better shot than that. If he wanted to do Dark in then and there, he would have. Dark had to concentrate. "Danjer," Dark spoke almost to himself. Quell heard it anyways. "That's me." He shifted his eyes through his iron mask and gray cloth. "You bein' Mr. Dark, I reckon?" "Find out for yourself." "Yer reputation is a high one. Don't think I don't know you." Despite the dangerous situation, Quell felt safe enough to sheath his guns back into their respective niches in his cloak. "Yeah, I'm Quell Danjer. You here to kill me?" "It's not obvious?" "Shoot, no." Quell shifted a bit. "It's mighty obvious. I know you specialize in killin' other hun'ers. Dun play me fer stupid." "Sorry. You speech suggests it." Quell let out a laugh. "Hah, I like you. Too bad this'll go quick." Suddenly a pistol was back in his hand and a bullet was fired. Dark saw this coming and zipped behind a tree to evade. Despite the fact Quell was one of the quickest shooters, Dark was one of the quickest on his feet. The bullet hit the tree and went straight through. Dark was wide-eyed. "That's some powerful guns," he muttered to himself. "I know," Quell called from his far distance with a wry laugh. "Gah, how does he do that?"

An eternity passed or at least it seemed like it did. Dark had enough time to study the barrel of the gun and all that was attached to it. He even recorded a mental image of the room while the seconds passed. Sweat trickled down the both of them, especially Bones, who, despite had the upper hand, was scared worse than Dark. The rising sun cast moving shadows through the room. Things gradually changed. Dark waited. Then it happened. Bones shot. Bones missed. Dark had yet to unleash his full speed on Razdul. He hesitated for too long. It was long enough for Dark to concentrate enough energy to dart when the bullet came. He easily side-stepped and evaded the fatal shot. Bones looked around, but lost track of Dark after he fired. Then a kick to the back of the head sent him flying back out the window down a two-story drop. He hit the ground and hard. Dark landed neatly, but heavily on Razdul's back, cracking his spine slightly. Razdul whimpered a little. "Sorry to break your bones, Bones," Dark smirked. "I'll make this a quick death and end it now." Dark took a large piece of glass from the street and made a quick move to chop Bones' head clear off. But he didn't expect Bones to have enough energy to dodge. Well, he didn't really. He moved, but the glass got his leg, chopping it off at the knee. Razdul screamed upward into the sky as he lost half of his limb. Dark dropped the glass and winced. It had naturally cut his hands good in the process of swinging it down on Bones. But it was worth it. Bones was now completely incapable of escaping. Razdul looked up at his opponent, tears running down his eyes. "Be a man, Bones," Dark frowned. "I don't want to kill a whiny baby. No use crying. It'll be over quick." "Yes it will," Bones muttered. The final trick up Razdul's sleeve was deadlier than ever. Within his vest, he pulled out a small bomb, which he latched to Dark's leg and activated right away. Dark barely had time to think before it exploded and all went up in blazes.

Art Slackers In Slacks [UPDATED DAILY]

Glad to hear you guys wuv 'em. And I've considered publishing them in books as volumes. ------- -
The bullets easily penetrated the rubble and yelps were heard as they made their target. Anger and hate was present in Dark's eyes as he let the lead fill the limp form of Razdul under his brick grave. Suddenly, a large bullet shot through the bricks and hit Dark directly in the chest. It was so powerful it sent him back into the wall and he fell to the ground, coughing blood. The bricks fell off his body as Bones stood up. He was bleeding heavily now, but saw Dark in an uncomfortable state as well. Most of the bullets hit his vest or arms, so Bones wasn't badly hurt. But enough bullets penetrated that he could eventually bleed to death if actions weren't taken. He quickly used the time he had to rip some of his sleeves and type up the bloody holes left in him. He eventually had to use his pants cloth to tie the rest of his arms. Things were blurring for the both of them. Loss of blood cause Bones to stumble around and the electricity was still bolting through Dark. The night was becoming dawn so the streets began to light once more. As the sun peeked through the alley, Bones saw his electric rod off in the distance. He wobbled towards it, but without thinking, grabbed the wrong end, which was still in water and electricuted himself. The gun in his hand fired off and shot Dark in the ear, barely scraping the skin of the tip. Dark put a bloodied hand to his left ear and picked up his remaining gun. Aggressively, he moved toward the collapsed Bones who was flinching from the bolts. Unlike Dark, he could not handle so much electricity and was almost temporarily paralyzed. He stared up at Dark, his eyes all he could move currently. Dark breathed heavily. The bullet was still in his chest. It missed his heart, but still burned like a blazing fire. He had been lucky with the bullets. One in the calf, one past the heart, and one barely clipping his left ear. Now it was time to end the fight. He aimed his gun toward Bones' head when he saw what was in Razdul's left hand. "A bomb," he said simply, then stumbled backward. Razdul threw it up in the air, in which it exploded. It harmed no one, but Dark ducked for cover anyways. When the smoke cleared, Bones was gone. He must've snuck away with the last of his strength. The bomb was merely a distraction.

Bones began to sweat profusely despite the cool rain of Yoraav that trickled down his cut and bleeding face. Every time he looked out at Dark, he saw a hideous black phantom, awaiting to take him away to death's gates. It was true--Mr. Dark was Razdul's hardest quarry. Nevertheless, Bones was known for getting out of tight spots and he still had another trick to try. "C'mon, Bones," Dark muttered under his breath. He shifted himself through the puddles of rain to get a better shot with his rifle. "Come on out and face me." It wasn't long before something came rushing out of the alley. Dark opened fire and tore a trash can lid to pieces. It was only after he fired several rounds did he notice what he just assaulted. Bones was testing him. The water began to grow deeper around their feet and Dark himself grew more impatient. The pavement (which was only used in towns on Yoraav) unfortunately kept the water rushing around the town with no soil to sink into. Both Bones and Dark feared something may flood. Thoughts like these clouded their minds when it shouldn't. That and impatience were tantalizing to Dark. He held his gun steady when he saw something emerge from the alley again. Not so quick to shoot this time, Dark waited to see what it was. It was some kind of rod. Obviously Bones was holding it, but he was still hidng around the wall. Dark studied it from afar and decided not to take chances at shooting at it. That may be what Bones wanted. Not too long after Dark made this decision did the rod touch down into the water. Then, moments later, sparks flew and eletricity burst from the end. Dark felt sudden excrutiating pain as he was being electricuted from a distance. He dropped his gun, but couldn't move to pick it up. Dark's clothes began to smell burnt and his flesh began to began to peel away. Dark saw what Razul did. He was using his electric rod with the water. Since water conducts electricity, Dark was easily targeted. If he didn't act fast, he'd be dead and extra crispy quick.

I think that newer roleplayers might occassionally do that. As Dare stated and I said before, we both did it when we began. Now we're maturing roleplayers and have advanced to different characters every RPG. Some veterans prefer it as the same character, I guess. But some RPGs might not accept that.

I sure can see it.
-
Art Slackers In Slacks [UPDATED DAILY]
Dragon Warrior replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
Heh, we'll see about the shirts. This next comic shows the more cuter side to SIS. We can be adorable too ;) I said this once to a girl, so it's a more exaggerated version of my situation. -
Little did Dark know, but during that very short period of him loading his gun and tossing the grenade, Bones had made his way through the bar and up what was left of the steps. The explosion took out the rest of the wooden staircase, nevertheless. Dark smirked when no reply was given and he waited for the dust to clear. Suddenly, a bomb was thrown from what looked like the rafters and a stray bullet set it off in midair like Dark's old trick. Wood once again took flight as fire engulfed a large portion of the bar. Dark managed to moved before the explosion took him too. He was a bit on fire and burnt slightly, but survived easily. "Trying my own moves on me won't get you anywhere, Bones," Mr. Dark warned. He was still not sure where Bones had got to. He carefully stepped out into the rubble in the middle of the room. He had plenty of upturned tables and chairs for cover, but he was still a bit cautious of where Razdul may pop out of. He heard footsteps, but they echoed uncannily through the room. The destinction of where they were coming from was hard to make out. Suddenly he heard the clink of metal hitting glass. He looked above and spotted a chandelier. In no more than a second later, another explosion occurred as a bomb set off, sending the chandelier crashing down toward Dark. He jumped to the side, his famous speed saving him, but the chandelier was too large. His leg was trapped underneath at one part and he couldn't pull it out. He struggled and looked upward to see where Bones was. The ceiling was too dark to make much out, but he saw a shadow moving along the rafters. Dark started firing shots with his normal pistol, hoping to at least make a damaging hit. Bones appeared to be moving in a circle around the room, stopping at certain points. Dark wasn't sure what plan he had, but he kept on firing anyways. Then Bones stopped at the doorway to the second floor. It was too far away to make out the real form of him, so Dark could not aim. He made a few shots into the dark before realizing what Bones had just did. Then he hear a beep. The beep that was made when Bones activated the bombs all along the rafters and the whole ceiling came crashing down on Dark.

I have noticed this before and at times, when they really don't bother to change anything at all, I feel like my RPG isn't worth their time to make someone new. That may be the case or they're lazy or just really like their character. I'd think it'd get boring after a while. I remember I did it a few times back then, but all I'd reuse was the name. The character would change personality/appearance/history-wise. So the name was all that I kept some of the time. That was back when I first began roleplaying in the earlier Versions. I don't mind it anymore. As long as the character suits the RPG, I allow it. I just don't find it that original. I like to make a new character for each thing. Authors of books don't put the same hero for every book unless it's a series. I look at my RPGs as movies or books or something of the like. Therefore, everything has to be fresh and new.
