I've actually attempted one or two of these and I did so by only allowing a few roleplayers in it. So while we only planned on it going so far, it was also with a limited number of people, so it wouldn't get out of hand and spread too far. Of course, even with the length, it still takes the right people to do it because the RPG died anyways from lack of interest, which is sad. I liked those ones too. If you attempt one of these, I don't know about going by time (weeks, months) 'cause what if there's no posting for like, five days? Then you lost five days of posting and that's five days of the RPG you can't get back. But if you set by a number of posts, you may come near the end and end up rushing things 'til the quality is awful. There's not really an easy way to do it when you set it. I'd say just aim for it being short and end it when you feel the time has come.

His ragged clothes give him an almost creepy and unholy look. He glides when he feels no need to walk and will ride a black horse when even the ability of hovering is too much. After the loss of his kingdom, he mainly mopes with his head down. He carries his powerful sword, which he uses to release the living and bring them to the dead. He can take numerous forms from a handsome human male to a rather unattractive skeletal creature. The cloak covers him mostly so it really doesn't matter. [b]Personality:[/b] Before becoming somewhat of a slave to Hades, Thanatos was a proud God and often did numerous things actively. He was smart, witty, and was almost merciful. If he didn't control the Land of the Dead, he'd be almost good, but instead he had no choice, but to plunge his sword into a beating heart. His appearance shadowed his true ways and no one could ever think he was not as horrid as he appeared. Once Hades took over, he became silent, hopeless, and cowardly. Despite still being the one to deal death, he hardly matched up to the reputation. He was forever melancholy and forsaken, no more the ruler of the Underworld and no more someone with emotion. He became... empty. [b]Bio:[/b] Once, long ago, before even Zeus claimed Olympus, the Underworld was present. The ruler, Thanatos, escorted spirits from the Land of the Living to his world, the Land of the Dead. Unlike the future ruler of the Underworld, Hades, Thanatos did not cause havoc and misery, but simply did his job to take souls to the afterlife. But it was not meant to be. Thanatos was a weak God and was not fit to fill the job. He cowarded before the might of Hades, who, in search of a realm to call home, found the Underworld and claimed it as his own. A battle was fought for the control of the realm, but sadly Hades was ten times the God Thanatos was. Thanatos easily fell, but Hades had mercy on the miserable creature. Since Hades did not want the job of actually removing the souls from their home, he enslaved Thanatos to do it for all eternity for him. Then Hades would deal with them when they arrive in the Underworld. Thanatos had no choice but to obey his new master. His shining armor of glistening black and commanding features withered away with time and soon he just wore ragged cloaks and a dull expression of misery and lack of hope. He wandered the Land of the Living, removing the appropriate spirits and sent them on their way to the Afterlife. Oh, how he longed for a new world to be, a new job to have, or even better yet, having the Underworld back under his control. But he knew deep down that Hades could not be easily thrown and no other Gods were about to attempt to knock him off his ill-gotten throne. Sadly Thanatos disappeared from legend and was hardly even recognized by any Gods as a God himself. He simply was the grave keeper, the grim reaper, the spirit taker and a footnote in Mythology. Eventually even Hades dismissed him as anything of importance and paid him no mind that he did his job. Nevertheless, Thanatos continued to take spirits for all enternity. Was he to be damned to this life forever? Was there any future for the great God of the Underworld Thanatos? [b]Alliance:[/b] Neutral[/size][/indent]

Believe it or not, OB used to be down in quality too. It's come a long way since it first began. I should know. When I first joined back in Version 1, I too spammed the crap out of the place like everyone else. One sentence posts were made, off-topic replies were present everywhere, and the topics lacked in both quality and meaning. It was still a step up from a lot of other forums online, but now James and the staff have definitely turned the place around. I haven't seen it that low since the earliest of Versions. The rules help greatly to keep order, sure, but it's also the members and staff that set good examples and keep everything appropriate and proper that make the place safe for everyone. I think the general public of OB is what makes the place so great.

A lot of their stuff nowadays sounds quite different than their earlier material. "Selling The Drama" and "All Over You" are both from their second album [b]Throwing Copper.[/b] If you compare one of those two songs to a newer one such as "Life Marches On" from their album [b]Birds of Pray[/b], you can definitely see a difference. It's not a bad change and they still sound like Live in some senses. One of my friends did complain, though, 'cause he liked their earliest stuff the most. He doesn't like their new songs. As for me, they always seem to choose the right beat to make it sound good. Unlike most bands that have songs that make me wonder, "Do they know they're making crappy songs or are they just putting songs in to fill space or what?" Live ceases to amaze me with their ability to create nothing, but excellent songs.

Yeah. "Lightning Crashes" isn't really one of my favorites (I like it still), but there are definitely ones I like much better. I think their song "Overcome" is great because it's about 9/11 and it's a really beautiful song.

I can't seem to find the thread I made about them ages ago. Maybe I didn't make one and thought I did. Nevertheless, Live is my favorite band. Yes, their name is Live, for those of you who don't know them. They're popular for some of their hits like "Dolphin's Cry" and "Lightning Crashes" as well as their newest hit "The River." I, for one, like every song in all eight of the albums they have out (I'm including "Awake..." as well), so I'm pretty satisfied with what they have made. Their latest CD is no disappointment either. They just released their new album [b]"Songs From Black Mountain,"[/b] and once again I am overly pleased to own it :D I simply love their song "Where Do We Go From Here?" and also cherish "Show" and "Wings" the most from that album. Anyone else buy this new album or perhaps just like Live in general?

[size=1]This is a simple idea I came up with last night. If Otaku had a mascot, what would it look like to you? It can be anything, really, since Otaku doesn't have a specific preference (not even anime and gaming can be considered the main attention-getter these days). He didn't start out as a Kangaroo Rat. He was a rather demented dog. Then he looked like Mickey Mouse on crack. So I threw in the fuzz on his tail and the funky Aussie hat on his head and said he was a Kangaroo Rat. Voila! He became Australian! He's named Heath Wedgercheese because Heath Ledger, one of my favorite actors, is Australian and it's just a play on words (wedge of cheese). He's also a little insane. This will definitely be my favorite of the three now :P Having said that, I do have some thoughts. For one thing, why does he look so innocent and happy? Isn't Sephiroth the evil of all evils and meniacally insane and wants to kill all and stuff? Maybe I'm missing something. Nevertheless, the coloring job is really well done. I mean, the coat is superb. And the shine on the shoulder pads is excellent. Of course the fire's a nice touch. You've definitely got him spot on (aside from the face, to my liking). Well done. Maybe you should try more FF later :)

Heh, I don't know what Angel Santuary is, like I told you, but I really like that sketch. It's really well done. It almost seems flawless. I'm particularly fixed on the hair, how you individually did the hair strings and have the shine in as well. And the ear still shows through, which is a nice effect. I'd like to see that with more detail :) I'm not so intrigued by the Kingdom Hearts one. It's really good, though, but the people seem a tad odd looking to me. Maybe (Axel?) the white haired person's chin is too long, it seems. It looks like they have a massive jaw. The black-coated guy seems fine, though, and I particularly like how you did his flaming red-orange hair. So in the end, I like the black-coat person better than the white-haired one, but it's still pretty good. Nice colored penciling. Good work, sir :) Bring us more of these.

Oh, believe me, I know that. I make independent films and I have two hours of short 10-minute improv films on a tape my friends and I made. They can be classic, for sure :)

Heh, to do that kind of show, you'd have a lot of work cut out for yourself. I'm sure you wouldn't want to do the show live (the work for that would be insane and stressful), but if you can film it and broadcast it, I'm all for it. It may even be easier to just do the radio show with webcam doing a horror show, but it's completely up to you. I'd like for us to have a vivid variety.

I already mentioned before radio shows were a consideration a long time ago. Radio shows using Winamp and such are actually far more difficult than doing a webcam show (and yes, it'd be live probably due to size and it's be simpler). There's more to it than just getting the program shoutCAST and Winamp to do the radio show. Trust me. James and I have already gone through it :P

You can feel free to place out a variety. I will only judge you on what I believe to be your best work anyways. So yes, if you'd like :)

I noticed I never mentioned when the deadline for sign ups would be. I'm thinkin' 'til Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. It's not like anyone really has to do anything for the sign up.
