Yo-yos? O.o XD ------- Poem: Wherever this Frodo went, there was a hobbit named Sam that followed. And at the most oddest of times Sam would appear, in Frodo's house in the hill that was hollowed. Word: Gandalf

Not sure where that poem's going so I'll just start us off with a new one XD Let's make sure it matches ;) ------- Poem: In the land of Middle-Earth, in the Shire lived some folk. With grass so green and skies a-blue, they drink their brandy and yoke. Word: Frodo LOTR themed :)

American Dad premiers right after the Superbowl this coming Janurary (like Family Guy did before). I can't wait for that too. An alien running around the house. Oy XD And as for Family Guy, don't expect season 4 soon. It premiers next summer. But American Dad will keep us company 'til then. As will all my Family Guy DvDs ^_^

Who went to camp this summer? how was it?
Dragon Warrior replied to foreverinfinity's topic in General Discussion
I directed a kids play at a kids' fine arts camp this summer if that counts. I also worked there got a paycheck XD But that wasn't really my summer camp. I am going to Cross Country Camp next week so I'll be away for a while. It's gonna be so awesome. I loved it last year. We run all these awesome coarses, hang out with other schools' teams, etc. I'll tell more when I return :) -
Yeah, the flashbacks also helped portray that they still loved one another and still thought of each other. Like the dream where Aragorn is back in the bed and Arwen shows up. It's the big romance in the story aside from Sam wanting that hobbit chick XD Tee hee. I did like that future look on how Arwen would still be living even after Aragorn died and she stands by his dead body, then it fades to the stone statue of him. Cool stuff :)

Hell, I have no idea who they are. I just know Rikku. Someone told me the first one was Yuna. Or did they say it was Lulu? I have so many womenses, I don't even know ;_; And it seems the background for the third works better because it compliments their outfits.

It seems like nobody likes using Fox because of his speed :P Once you get use to him, his speed isn't that hard to handle. You just have to be careful with his "Fox Illusion" tactic on smaller battlefields where you can fall right off the edge (example would be Yoshi's Island, Fountain of Dreams, etc.). But Fox definately kicks it into high storm on his homeland of Corneria. Man, can I use Fox there ^_^

That's true. Tolkien was in the first WW (I dunno if he was in WW2 or not) and he wrote a lot of stuff on Middle-Earth during that time, even while he was in the battle. Much of his ideas for Sarumon and the orcs are relevent to the world wars and even Hitler's rise to power. His buddies who died in the war had somewhat of an inspiration for his stories in his book "The Book of Lost Tales." I'd have to say almost every writer gets inspiration from their own life happenings--no! All writers do :3

I definately laugh out loud when I see that Mastercard commercial with Homer Simpson. It's hilarious. He can hear the voice-over and he interacts with it; Something that needed to happen ;) Like the "Haircut: $75" and Homer goes "$75!?" and then he's in the bar and the voice-over says "Spending time with the family: Priceless" and when Homer doesn't move he repeats it and Homer goes "Alright, I heard you! Stupid voice-over..." And to top it off, the little circles of the Mastercard sign are doughnuts and Homer goes "ooo!" but gets disappointed when they become the Mastercard sign. Hehe. Watching that commercial: Priceless. ;)

Yeah,
I'm guessing most people didn't (I don't know why since it was said as clear as day XD). I dunno if that was M. Night giving away who had the dead animals or just trying to make us think it was them or maybe someone else or possibly Noah or what? I personally think it was Noah's parents. Poor mother. She lost her Noah.
-
That's why I think it's Noah's parents who planted the dead animals because, as I said before, when Noah was found missing by his parents, the mother stated that he had run off with the monster costume and some of the dead animals. If the parents were hiding the dead animals, that must mean they were the ones planting them. Savvy?
Oh, good. I was just hoping my eyes weren't too bad. I'm color deficient, you see, which means I can't tell two colors a part sometimes if they're really close and I don't think grey and blue are too close so I was wondering XD And you obviously must be a black mage to be on my sexy womenses list ^_^ New banner :3 Starring the last of the lovely ladies ;) Lulu is her name? I dunno.
-
Well geez... I never thought of that.
They don't want blood spilt so the Elders had them try to avoid it by avoiding the color red? Interesting ^_^ As for what you said on Noah, I'm not sure he knew about the monsters the whole time, but I'm sure he understood what he did to Lucious was wrong. When he was rocking back and forth in the chair and he looked over at his parents and cried "Mommy," that made my heart sink XD Poor guy. God I feel less manly for saying that :p
Oookkkaaayyy XD Tolkien is sexist. I dunno, that doesn't sound like the dude. But I do remember seeing that Peter Jackson decided to add Arwen in more because she had too little of a part. Liv Tyler (played Arwen) only had to show up on set rarely now and then and often was found helping out in the Weta Workshop instead of doing scenes because Arwen has so little to do. Liv Tyler didn't even to the scene where she's riding on horseback being chased by Ring Wraiths. Wait... sorry... that's not fair to say. She rode on a barrel cloaked in fake horse skin in the back of a truck for five days XD But yeah, P.J. had to extend her part just to get her in more.
-
Now, I've never read the books, but in the movies it seems that Arwen and Galadriel weren't even needed in the plot. What did Arwen do? She talked lovey dovey with Aragorn and agreed to die and then came back. She did help save Frodo once, but Tolkien could walk around that. But I guess she's Strider's love so she can have that much. Galadriel... what did she do really? Give the heroes a few boats, a few gifts, shelter, directions? I dunno. Once more, it seems like their jobs were semi-useless to completely not needed. It might be just because their parts are small, though. That may be why it seems this way.
-
Maybe the director's cameo is reallt stupid ;)
But I like your thinking, Ms. Steph :D Noah was awesome and Bryce Howard did very well for her first movie (though she played small extra parts in her father's movies previously and did stage plays).
To tell you the truth, I was sad Noah died. I was also sad he did what he did to Lucious. He was such an innocent.
Females played a small role in LOTR, IMO. I'm not trying to put them down, but I found it hard to find any that Tolkien made appear often. This seemed too much like a man story because Tolkien didn't let Eowyn, Galadriel, and Arwen do anything. What's up with that? I mean, they did do important things (I think Eowyn did the most important tasks of all women), but couldn't he have made more for them?
-
I mean, yes, your professor is undoubtedly very intelligent, but no professor or expert on any piece of literature can really have a completely definitive say on the author's purpose.
There is ONE Professor who knows for sure :D Professor Tolkien himself ;) Teehee... I'm so silly. And since when were there LOTR classes? ;_; I wanna take one.

I actually agree with Vash here.
I remember reading some of Tolkien's work and it clearly states that Samwise leaves Middle-Earth by the way of the Elves. But his reason wasn't because of the ring. Being in the wake of the ring gave him a little long lasting life (like Bilbo and Gollum, but less) and he believed he was over-do to pass on to the other life. That's his reason.
Poem: So here I stay in this gentle land, A town so dear as if in God's hand. I'll live here forever if I may, An eternity here I will stay. New Poem :) Word: Bart
-
That it does. I'm aware of
Sam's passing with the Elves. He became Governor of Hobbiton first, though ;)
And I agree with you, Ms. Eowyn-Wannabe :D He did seem to do well with casting. But I'd like to say that whoever he did choose to be the characters, they'd seem like those characters in the book no matter who was the actor or actress. It's just that we see them on screen and that gives us a picture of what they "could" look like. But the actors chosen definately did well acting-wise.

Poem: And may it be the whispers I hear, from the gentle winds that take my fear. I'll stay in this happy village of old, to live a life worth a million gold. Word: Talent

I love the Rohan music. That song is great ^_^ And yes, I've seen all the footage of both 4-disc sets for both movies (more than once too). It's amazing what they can do. Peter Jackson had unlimited money for this movie so he went all out. I would too if I had endless cash rolling in. And they definately made more money than they spent. And if you want your username changed to Eowyn, talk to Charles or James. They'll change it for you.
-
I understand you completely. That's EXACTLY how I feel with this music and movies. It's so incredibly amazing, it even gives me the shivers. Have you watched the behind the scenes stuff on the 4-disc special editions and at the end of some of the things you can watch, they'll play the music and say something really sappy? That just gives me a chill and I wish I could be there with them. Now that's gotta sound weird. But it's true. I wanna be an actor and acting in LOTR would be the biggest thrill I'd ever have. What lucky punks. As for the instruments, I personally love the flute in "Concerning Hobbits." That's just amazingly beautiful and calming. It gives a sense that this world is free and happy and nothing can go wrong, but if the hobbits just took a step away from their doors in the hills, they'd realize the world is on the brink of war, if not already in war. Amazing.

The third soundtrack is the only one I don't possess (but do plan on getting once I get a Prozzak CD). I definately like all the movies' music ^_^ As for Enya, I burned two of her CDs. I may have lost some manhood, but I enjoy celtic music. Unfortunately, Enya only sung two songs in the Fellowship soundtrack and I'm not sure if she did any for the other two. Most of those high-pitched voices were boys choir XD
