1. Last year, I was in the Language Arts club for my school and I submitted my poem (some of you may know it) called The Shadow Knight. Well, it did pretty well. So, I'm back again this year and completed my newest poem which I turned in today for the competition. It's called Sword of Despair. C&C, please XD Sword of Despair When life sends you the worst of choices, you hear peccant thoughts and angry voices. You?ve made the mistake by taking the dare. Another stab by the Sword of Despair. Deceiving words that were never true, may come back and languish you. This abject world is never fair, for it tends to wield the Sword of Despair. Facing the walls that close you in, the constant tension breaking the skin. Neglecting it all without a care, leads to a wound from the Sword of Despair. Dormancies of wicked dreams, the scarred face of untold screams. Witnessing these dreams could not compare, to living a life with the Sword of Despair. Blasphemy becomes your daily life, continuous calls for endless strife. It all seems bleak; you pull your hair, an agonized fate by the Sword of Despair. But don?t take a fall and cry away the pain. It?s not over yet; break the binding chain. The suffering is gone in one simple prayer, you have finally vanquished the Sword of Despair. -Gavynn Brown
2. Yeah. I made it so it's kind of slanty or whatnot. But no, my house is fine =D Glad you like it, Ms. Haze.... ... if that IS your real name...
3. This is some banner I made after the real incident (just kidding... or am I?) Nothing special. But isn't it pretty?
4. Well, the sun ring was my art teacher and he has no neck because his cloak (the cape around his neck) covers it. That's all I can say. The rest is true ^____^ MEH!
5. Hey! I've seen a real bolt like that before. Honest ^_^ Since you insist, I must post the last pic I scanned tonight. I warn you, I hate the monsters at the bottom. The smaller, younger one looks like a piece of garbage the larger one hurled up ;_; And my art teacher erased stuff :< It's called Danabyn the Elven Archer.
6. Well, I can agree on most parts of what you said except the small guy isn't a dog and the alien's arm has two elbows, if you note them XD But here's another. Kind of a dark one... very merfff... It's called... World of Havoc.
7. The Gavynn Art Anthology Thingy (also referred to as "GAAT") is the better of the ideas I've had before. Actually, I just listened to my friends. They told me, instead of a thread for each picture I draw, I should a thread for all my artwork. And BAM! GAAT was born! Come here and see my newest artwork with all it's jawesomeness and crazy shizzle dizzle wizzle hizzle. Now then, i shall start it off with my newest piece of artwork I call... Stupidly Fearless
8. Excellent. That's 2. I still need just 2 more, then this delicious production can be deliciouser... ness... stuff... Ahem... BUT! If it does not get enough members by Friday, I will have to cancel it for better preparation AND to work on my newest idear. Thank you =3
9.
Originally posted by AzureWolf I hate running, and it seems that a lot of fencers do (even the coaches). Nevertheless, they make you do it, and I'm dead after this 2-lap-around-the-campus "warm-up." They don't let you stop for a minute, but the two laps don't even equate anywhere near three miles. I'm amazed someone can do that. Haha, what a healthy person. I hate you, Dragon Warrior. :)
That's why the saying goes: "Our sport's fun is every other sport's punishment." XD And ChibiHorsewoman, I once upon a time use to be crazy and do horse jumping thingies as well. Wait a tick... I still am crazy :)
10. No problem. That's just one down, though. I still need 3 more :)
11. Hey Ms. Terra, we startin' this soon? ^_^ I like piratesness and this seems like a good RPG. I don't see those that often :<
12. Well, this may just be freewebs being a pain in the cranium. The pics will show up sometimes, but if they don't, simply right click the picture you wanna see, go to properties, copy and paste the image url and BAM! You'll see it :)
13. Hey, train year round you guys and you'll lower your time greatly. I mean, if you're training year round and the people who are better aren't, you'll be at their time or better by the time next season starts :)
14. Yes. We did speak of a capture the flag game ;) But I'm one to wanna take my new ideas to the test. Heh heh.
15. Well, to like it, you have to do it for a while. You won't like it at first, but then you get use to it and sooner or later, it'll be good to run ^_^ Plus, the goal of winning the race is the shiznit!
16. Yep. I just wrapped up my season of Cross Country. 2nd season, actually. And then again, the season is never really over since I train year round. And some people don't even know what the dizzle Cross Country is. Well, I'll tell you what it is! A runner's sport. That's right. What this sport does for fun is what other sports do for punishment. I had a pretty good year this year, in fact. I brought down my time greatly, went to state, was in the papers a lot. I'm just a sophomore so I have 2 years more to go :) My 3 Mile time is 17:17. Anyone else run this sport? Hmm? Yes? no? Semi-colon?
17. Welcome! I am Dragon Warrior (or, as referred to in this RPG, Shargod). It was either this game or Lord of Thieves: Key Master, but obviously, I chose to make this. Basically, it's an intense 4-player strategic capture the flag brawl. Read on to learn more. Long ago, there was a world known as Shargok. In Shargok, there were four mighty leaders who had ruled prosperously for many a years. But soon, a dark shadow crossed over the land and the rulers? relationships grew cold. They wanted more land and more people to rule so they wished to conquer one another. This could only lead to one great World War and cause great conflict, even leading to the destruction of Shargok itself. So the 4 Lords came to an agreement. There will be one ruler of Shargok, but that ruler must win the ultimate contest against one another. They will set up bases with their own symbol-baring flags and they must capture the other lords? flags before their own is. Weapons and such are allowed, but the thought of being the last remaining lord and becoming King of the World remains in their minds and keeps them from dying even the most deadliest of battles. In case, you did not understand all that, this story tells that the 4 rulers of Shagrok are going in battle against one another in an intense capture the flag came with multiple rounds and weapons. The idea of the game is to, throughout all the rounds, end up having collected the most flags. After all rounds are finished, the one with the most flags (or ensigns, which are what we call them in this game) wins. It?s not as easy as it sounds and the rounds and longer than thought to be. During a round, one must use strategic tactics and weapons to win. A player will have skills, weapons, and an assortment of powerful items at their disposal to use at necessary times. To improve on a character?s skills, weapons, and other means of fighting, a player may purchase upgrades from the stores scattered around the arena. Though, getting money in this game is hard. Read the section on Money to learn more. In this game, there are eight characters to choose from. They are all the same except for appearance, name, and their starting skill. Once a character is picked, no one else may have them. It?s no big whoopee to not get first pick of the characters, but first come, first serve. Since each character only supplies appearance, name, and starting skill, you may also choose an assortment of information to customize your character. Your character can be customized in: -HP (Health Points) -AP (Ability Points) -2 Other Starting Skills Read on in ?Stats? section to learn more about customizing your character. Go to the end of the rules to see the character selection and signup sheet. Since a character has certain things already done for you, we?ve gotta give you something to do, right? Well, there?s a number of things to make your character unique and it doesn?t all happen right at the start of the game. In fact, during the game, you can enhance your character. But that?s for later. When you first start, you begin with 10 Stat Points. These Stat Points can be shared between your stats. You can put as many stat points on your stats as you want as long as it all equals up to 10 in the end. But there is the rule that you must have a minimum of 1 stat point on each stat. But the thing is, there?s only two stats. The stats are HP and AP. Split the 10 up between the two and get your starting character stats. Here are some examples: EX1 HP- 2 AP- 8 EX2 HP- 5 AP- 5 EX3 HP- 9 AP- 1 Another customization of your character is their starting skills. In the game, a skill is what you use most of the time. They protect you, fight for you, heal you, and an assortment of other things. Depending on which of the eight characters you choose, you get one starting skill. Then, you get to choose 2 more starting skills from the starting skills list. Cool, eh? But make sure to make your AP (Ability Points) high or your skills will flop. Skills take AP to use. A low AP like in example 3 won?t get you far. After choosing these 2 other skills, you?ll have a total of three. The best way of doing things to have a starting skill of all three types. In the game, there are three types of skills. Check the skills section to learn more. Also, when you choose 2 starting skills, you must remember that these skills aren?t that great. When you choose your character, the skill that comes with the character are actually pretty good skills and they don?t cost a bundle of AP to use. When you start the game, we give you a good beginning. We load you up on items and such so you don?t go out there and die on the first try. You will begin with: -10 Arrows -2 Traps -100 Gold (100G) -1 Sword -1 Vile -1 Ether To learn what those items are, check the ?weapons?, ?items?, and ?special items? sections. Money is important in this game. It?s what keeps you alive. In Ensign Call, you?ll notice shops and such are laid out all across the arenas. Go to these places when you need to purchase something. But if you?re flat broke, forget about it. There?s numerous ways of getting money, though. Firstly, you can sell your old weapon or items. You?ll get them for half the price you bought them for, but if you?re desperate, it may be the way to go. You could also find money on a spot in the arena. During the game, you?ll hear the Shargod (Dragon Warrior) say that there?s something on one of the squares. You may go to the square, but beware! The item or whatever isn?t identified until you are on that scare. It could be a trap! But it could also be money. Cha-ching! The square part will be more thoroughly explained in the ?How to Play? section. You also gain money from killing. If you kill one of the three other players in the game, you get the money they had. When they are revived, they gain the normal 100G they always start with, but you just received what they had when they were alive before. More cha-ching! There are many other ways of getting money. Try finding some yourself. In Ensign Call, one may come across a building in the arena. There are a few types of buildings, each with their own specific help. Here?s the list of them. Shops: Shops are a nice place to stop. Come here with some money and you may buy an item or special item. But be warned, a shop or any other building is not a place to hide from the combat. You either shop or you go bye-bye. There is usually more than one of these in an arena. Weaponry: A Weaponry is where you buy weapons. Weapons help raise attacking power. If you come here, you may buy one or sell one. They are good to have. There is only one of these in an arena. Shrine: If you died, come here and be revived. There will be multiple buildings of this. Weapons are very useful in the game. You may only have one weapon equipped at a time. They not only determine your attack power, but they also help with Attack-type skills. When beginning the game, you start with a sword. A sword has a +1 attack. Without a weapon, you have no attack at all. Check the ?Menu? section to learn more about attacking. For now, here?s the list of weapons, their attacking power, and their cost. Name-Attack-Cost Sword-1-50G Short Sword-2-100G Long Sword-3-200G Heavy Sword-4-280G Broad Sword-5-350G Bastard Sword-6-420G Dark Sword-7-500G Mass Sword-8-600G Deadly Cutter-9-700G Twin Blades-10-850G Sheer Spear-11-950G Gold Sword-12-1100G Scimitar-13-1300G NeverBlade-14-1450G Gothia Falchion-15-1500G Heavahell-20-4000G Items can be just as important as weapons. Actually, they may just be more important. You cannot survive without these. Items are what keep you going. Purchase an item at a Shop and use it any time on the Arena. See the Menu section for details on item use. For now, here is the list of items, their cost, and their effect. Name-Cost-Effect Vile-50G-Heals 5 HP Ether-60G-Heals 5 AP Super Vile-100G-Heals 12 HP Super Ether-120G-Heals 14 AP Power Vile-200G-Heals 25 HP Power Ether-220G-Heals 25 AP Vile DX-300G-Heals all HP Ether DX-300G-Heals all AP Hbooster-100G-Raises Max HP by 1 Abooster-100G-Raises Max AP by 1 Antidote-60G-Heals Poison Special items are used as weapons. If you need to use strategy to win, this is what you will eventually use. These things poise as the ultimate strategy-based icons. Use them wisely and if you lay a trap, don?t be stupid and forget where. See the Menu section to learn more about special item use. For now, here?s a list of the item names and how many you can buy at once, their cost, and effect. Name-Cost-Effect Arrows (10)-100G-Fires in one direction, horizontal/vertical inflicting 1 damage on a target if hit. Trap-100G-Appears as an item/money and if touched by an opponent or you, the toucher dies automatically. Poison Trap (5)-200G- Appears as an item/money and if touched by an opponent or you, the toucher is poisoned. Darts (10)-200G-Fires in one direction, horizontal/vertical/diagonal inflicting 1 damage on a target if hit. Super Arrows (10)-500G-Fires in one direction, horizontal/vertical inflicting 5 damage on a target if hit. Steamed Spreader (10)-1000G-Fires in all eight directions, horizontal/vertical/diagonal inflicting 1 damage on a target if hit (8 targets possible). The game concept is quite simple, but if you?re like me, even that won?t help. First off, there is 8 rounds, which means 8 arenas. Arenas are the areas you compete with one another. I will have 8 maps made up, one map for each arena. These maps will have the whole arena made up of squares (you may remember me mentioning squares earlier). On the top of the map, there will be letters like A, B, and C. Along the left side of the map, there are numbers. These are so you know the coordinates of each square on the map. Each square has a letter and number. So that means, the top-lefthand corner square would be A1. Sounds like battleship, eh? Well, don?t get all goofy. This is just the simple part. Here?s an example map that I?ll be using to explain the game concept. As you can see, what I just said is all here. Note at the bottom of the map, there are two squares missing. Oh my! Don?t freak! This is just apart of the challenge of some arenas. As you can see, there are letters A-F on top and numbers 1-6 on the side. Squares going horizontally are known as rows and squares going vertically as known as columns. So that means numbers are rows and letters are columns. Remember this. In row 5, the fifth box is missing. Same with the 6th row. That simply means you cannot move there (for more info on moving, check with the menu section). There are also three special squares on this map: shop, shrine, and weaponry. These are all of the buildings you will find on maps. Just simply land on one of them to enter. Before starting a round, you must choose a coordinate for your flag. Each round, you?ll have more flags to put places, but for now, let?s focus on just one. You cannot place a flag on the same coordinate as someone else?s flag. You also cannot put a flag where a starting item is or where a building is. It must be a blank square. The place you put your flag is also where you will begin your round. Using the map above, here is an example of a flag coordinate: B5. Now that that is out of the way, you will now learn how to win. Simple. Just move cross the arena and land on the square where another person has a flag. You cannot capture your own flag. If all of your flags have been captured, you are out of the round and must sit out until the round is complete. You may play again when the next round comes. Turns is an important thing. You take turns, in a way. Let me explain with an example. The players are Mike, Jake, Jill, and Gavin (hehe). Jill goes first because she won the last round. She chooses to move. Since it was a blank square, nobody waits for the Shargod to reply to her move (there?s a biggy. If you land on something special, like a building or item, you must wait for Dragon Warrior or ?Shargod? to reply before posting again. Same if you were attacked). Stupid Jill. Jake was right there and he has a clean shot at her. It?s Jake?s turn too. He chooses to attack downward on Jill?s square. Jill takes 1 damage. The players wait and Shargod replies with the clearance. Now it?s Mike?s turn. Mike chooses to move left and enter the shop. He does so. He may not reply again until the Shargod replies. Now it?s Gavin?s turn. Gavin kills all. THE END. Though, one player killing all the others is not possible, it?d be funny anyways. But seriously, that turn-based crud only happens on the first part of the round. It?s so everyone gets a fair shot at starting. Once everyone has gone, you may go anytime you want, unless the Shargod must reply. If you have any more questions on that, ask me. When you do want to do something, you have choices. These choices are shown in your menu. Read on in the Menu section to learn more. As said before, whenever you are about to do a turn, you have a choice from your menu. Your menu consists of the following commands: -Move -Attack -Skill -Item ?Move? is the most simplest one to understand. Maybe or maybe not. Actually, I?m not too sure if it is, but let me explain it anyways. To move, you simply have to look at the map and all the information posted about it (like where other players are, where their flags are, where items/money/traps are hidden, etc?), then decide on a coordinate to move to. Using the map above again, let?s say you?re on coordinate A5. You want to move right so you simply say you want to move to coordinate B5. Simple as that. You cannot move onto a square that isn?t there or where another player is. You may only move vertically or horizontally and only one square at a time unless said otherwise. ?Attack? is the command used when an opponent is close range. When you are right next to another player whether it be one square down from them or one square left, you may attack them, dealing a number of damage (depending on your weapon). It?s not easy getting close to an opponent neither. A person isn?t going to be stupid enough to move right next to you. But some skills may help you with that. See the Skills list to learn more. ?Skill? is where you select a skill and put it to use. It?s a good thing to have, but it costs AP to use. Some skills allow you to use the skill, then use another command from the menu all on the same turn. That is best when used with the ?Attack? command. And lastly, the ?Item? command allows you to use items and special items that you have. The good part about items is, you may use one, then be able to choose another command in the same turn. This happens every time you do it. The down part is you cannot use another item during that turn. But hey! This means you can use a vile, then use a skill which makes you just a few squares and allows you to choose another command which you can choose the ?attack? command and destroy an opponent. A perfect scheme! That is where strategy shows it?s face. Each arena will have not only buildings, flags, players, and special spots, but they?ll also have natural booby traps. You may land on a swamp pit and be poisoned. You may fall in water and drown. These are hazards that can be dodged, but if an opponent somehow pushes you into one or it?s hidden and you land on it, you are in trouble. Such traps include: Swamps- Poisonous Water- You drown and die! Thief Hole- Lose Money Nasty Merchant- Lose one Item Thunderstorm- Lose One Gained Flag Firestorm- Lose one of your flags Sometimes, you may be poisoned whether it be from an opponent?s skill, a swamp, or an item. Poison is not a good thing and for every post you make, it subtracts 1 HP from you. If you reach 0 HP, you die. Poison can easily be cured by an antidote. Make sure to have some in stock! Here are some tips and such for when fighting another opponent and stuff. -When your HP reaches 0, you die and become a ghost. Visit a shrine right away and be reborn into the world before your opponents snatch your flag! -Traps are great because no one knows that they are traps! To lay a trap, just PM me and tell me the coordinate to place it. You must have the trap to use it and that coordinate must be a blank square. Also, after PMing me about the trap, just put in your post for your turn that you used a special item. You don?t need to mention anything else. I?ll know what you mean. -To use the ?Attack? command correctly, an opponent must be directly above you, to the left or right of you, or below one. The attack command only works on one square away from your square. Certain skills will enhance that, though. Skills are a large part of being cunning in this game. Like I said before, you get one skill with your character you choose and you choose 2 starter skills. I will first list the starter skills, then just the plain ole skills list. It will have the skill name, AP cost, cost to buy it from a shop (that?s right. You buy skills from shops), and the effect. It also shows it?s type. There are three types: Attack, Power, Trap. Also, skills with a * before their name means they can be used, then the caster can use another command in battle. -Starter Skills- *Leap-1-50G-Power-The next time you move, you move 2 squares instead in one direction. *L Leap-2-70G-Power-The next time you move, you may move 1 square in one direction and another square in any other direction. *X Attack-2-100G-Attack-Your regular attack extends by another square. *Cross Slash-2-70G-Attack-Your attack can be used on a square diagonal of you. If one falls, they will be teleported to a random square. *Trap Fall-6-200G-Trap-Put this trap anywhere you want in the arena (following the rules still). When an opponent lands on it, they will fall and be teleported to a random square. Now to signup! 18. Name: Damario Dantes Goes by: Notorious Age: 24 Affiliation: Caballeros Appearance: Long black hair, darkened eyes, tanned skin, kind of raggedy-looking, a normal pirate. He has a destinct cruel grin, but he's not as evil as he appears. Personality: He has a wide variety of characteristics and can be quite unexpecting since he could he happy one minute and break out into a yelling fit the next. His temper can reach as high as the heavens, but his kindness can be like gold. Damario, or Notorious, is unknown to many and no one can really get him. That and his grin can just make one wonder of his ways. Biography: Notorious is one of those pirates one does not think twice about messing with, but there are those who are a bit careless. I'm not saying he is undefeated. He's had his moments of being deck-washed, so to speak. After plundering for the great treasure of Ca'Tara, he almost lost his life from being chucked into the sea during a storm and swallowed up. He managed to escape to shore where he had met Captain Flint, whom took him into his crew. Mastering the sword, he's been with the Damned Mistress since.
19. Well, they're very well done. I'm not sure what you mean by font since there isn't any text in your banner, but then I saw the banner in your sig so I was like "DOH!". So, yes, they are very well done, mostly because they blend so well together. And the grid is not too shabby XD My Rating (attachment): 8/10 Yay! My Rating (sig): 9/10 SMASHING!
20. It's very well drawn, indeed. I do admit it looks like a woman even if it is a guy, but I still think the way professional manga drawers draw guys all cute-like has the same effect. Those ones look like girls too (I don't know why they do that, but meh.) So it's good. Heck, I can't draw it. And dragons are the shiznit, meh. My Rating: 9/10 SMASHING, love!
21. Pretty nice. My only beefs are that the pictures don't really blend in with the background and each other which would really help it look better. That and there's a lot of open space. Just some suggestions are to cover the open space and to blend it more. That and get rid of the white line under what appears to be a coyote. Good work, nevertheless. My Rating: 6/10- You're gettin' there ^_^
22. Meh, I'd do it, Ms. Siren, but I'm not too great with wings. I can try and learn how to do wings from my art teacher. I'll get back to you.
23. Pretty nice sketch. It's not just a quicky, but it appears to give off the full effect of the real deal. The expressions, his clothing, his style, BAM! Very nice. But it is just a sketch. Meh. I have no problem with that. Just do me a favor and show me a real one of him ;) I've gotta see that. My Rating: 9/10- BAM! Very Jawesome!
24. I dunno what others say, but I think the scythe weapon is kickass. No way is it too detailed. In my opinion, you can't overdo something when it's make believe like that. I mean, if this dude is from Hell or wherever he's from, how do we know what they're like there? Maybe they do overdo it with weapons. That's your decision therefore I think it's perfect. You've captured it perfectly. My father walked in on me looking at it and just loved your work on the skull's feather and the skull kneepads. Bravo! I just wish I could draw like that. My Rating: 10/10- Like something from Steven King XD
25. Well, I based Daily and Mo around myself so that's probably why. I'm always wearing a hat XD So meh! New episode tonight!
