Firstly i'd like to say that, yes i'm a halo enthusiast/fan boy, I love the game! It's awesome! It's the best game ever! The best FPS ever! Ever!!...now that i got that out of the way i can speak to you frankly. I like the game, yes, but i do understand where a person can believe it's over-hyped. And in ways it is. The one player mode isn't much to talk about when there are so many computer games out there that out does it. But you can't think in terms of computers in many cases. Halo 2 is primarily a console game. That's what you should compare it to. The xbox can't compete with a well built computer, no way! But the xbox can and does compete with every other console out there. And in the consoles Halo 2 is the best FPS out there, hands down. Easily what puts it over the top is its excellent multiplayer experiences. If you own Halo 2 and have broadband you're doing youself a major injustice by denying yourself of Xbox Live. Halo 2's true luster doesn't show until you see it's polished *** in multiplayer over Live! Now, forgive me for not seeing your point of view too well, but with my group of friends i'm the halo lover, and they're the super smash/d&d lovers, although i love those things too. I can see where you'd think that. But now i say this. People like what they're good at. I'm good at halo, so i love it. My good friend Brent hates the game becuase he sucks at it. I know this to be a fact. I let him borrow the game (Halo, he recently got an Xbox) recently, and he's a-lovin' it. He thinks it's funny as hell to throw a plasma grenade on a grunt's face and watch him run backwards towards his companions screaming at the top of its lungs only to sabotage his buddies. If it's overhyped, then it's only by a little.

Is college in Australia free?

I think it depends on the kid. If it's a smart kid who cares about his future, then let him decide. If it's some punk kids who don't care about education, then it's alright to force them. Kids don't know what's best for them. An education is much more important than what some kids will say is more important. More than likely the kids will thank their parents later...maybe, maybe not. But i do believe it's important for the kids to have time off, so they don't lose their minds. Parents gotta be able to compromise with their kids. If they force them to do this, maybe they should reward them later with something cool.... Later.

Haha, i started this thread, but that was a long time ago...a user account ago! A lot has happened since then. My two younger brothers actualy both own nintendo DSs. And i was going to get one for quite a long time, but never did. Right now i'd still like to get the PSP. It's sleek style, all of it's special features, it all gets me so excited. I'm gonna watch final fantasy advent childeren! I personally think the DS is awesome. I like the pictochat. I draw naughty pictures! HEHE. But it's just not enough. The PSP's graphics are much better. The price is very reasonable considering how expensive the unit is to make. (It was realesed in Japan for $183 dollars (i believe) and people are speculating that it'll be even lower when it comes to America, due to Sony's past trends). Although i hate admitting it, Sony has a lot of support from third party companies, moreso than Nintendo and Microsoft, so i'm expecting some awesome games on the unit. Of course I'm not going to buy either system until the PSP comes out. And if the PSP doesn't do well, i probably just won't buy a new handheld. As for the battery life, i personally think Sony will fix that problem. But it's not based on anything, i'm just being hopeful. But really though, i don't play handhelds too long, 2 hours will be enough for one sitting....for me anyways. I got a Gameboy Advance SP for christmas, and Nintendo is still realesing games for it, so i'll stick with that for a while. Nice picture Charles. I really like it. Later.

What OB members do you know, or would you like to meet in real life?
Attimus331 replied to Boo's topic in General Discussion
Eh, i don't have many friends on otakuBoards, but i have a couple on myotaku. So i'd have to say i'd like to meet ninjamonkey, perknup, and mysticalwolfgirl. Those are my 3 best otaku friends. There are a couple of people that i recognize on otakuboards that i'd like to meet: Shinmaru, Desbreko, and a couple of others. Of course i'd like to meet a lot of other people on here, but only when i read one of their messages i completely disagree/agree with. So i could argue, or pat the guy on the back. But then again, if i meet ya and i find out your a completely pathetic loser like myself, i might be a little prejudice whenever i come across your posts from that point on. There are people i'd rather not meet. Later. -
Parental advisories aren't only used for cursing. The message is very important. Listen to some of the lyrics. They say f * * * America! That's not exactly what i'd want my kids to hear (when i get kids). There's more, that's just one example. All of that aside, i must say i do like Green Day. They rock. Later.

Social Stuff..... friends or family?
Attimus331 replied to Eternal Snow's topic in General Discussion
I prefer myself. I care about my friends' opinions and my family's, but it ultimately comes down to my own opinion. They only slightly influence my decision. -
Haha, i love it when people wish for world peace. I personally don't think it would work. I won't say why, i'll just leave it at that. 1. Be able to control time. 2. Know all the answers to the questions i'm asked. 3. Be able to control people. I'm a control freak... Later.

Gaming How to ruin a perfectly good match (Xbox Live-Halo 2)
Attimus331 replied to Muad'Dib's topic in Noosphere
Yeah...they totally ruin the game. I've had those experiences way too much. I just wish i could beat the ******* out of them, i mean really though. People talking to me like that, i'd punch them in the face...They should have people working on Xbox Live, finding people like that and deleting their accounts after a warning. The feedback system just doesn't work, or at least i don't think it does. Later. -
I think XBox 2 and PSP. The XBox is a commercial failure and the new xbox will cost at least $700. The PSP Is OK but it seems like the N-gage: an all in one that doesn't do the functions as good as other devices. What do you think?
Wow...i totally disagree with you. I think the PSP will do awesome. It's owned by Sony, the guys behind the PS2, the biggest console on the market (not the best, just the most popular). The games look cool, the graphics are unbelievable (for a handheld), the price is more than reasonable. C'mon! As for the Xbox 2. It'll do awesome as well. It's Microsoft! Bill Gates! Smart People! They know how to advertise, they know they can't price it insanely high! The only system i think might fail is the next n-gage if their will be one (their won't). Not to say the n-gage is doing anything now. Any of the big consoles will not fail, trust me. Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft; their's no way! Later.

Tuesday's Gone by Lynard Skynard - I keep forgetting what day it is, the week just goes by so quickly for me... All By Myself by Green Day - Just cuz the song's a little dirty... If I Had a Million Dollars by Barenaked Ladies - One because I want a million dollars, and two because it symbolizes my sense of humor, the song is just funny! Later.

If it's a little too dark for you, then don't read it. Some people enjoy such dark humor. I will agree that it can be a little too much, especially for the younger kids. The message isn't great either. But most of the people that read the comic are mature enough to realize it's only a joke. It's like the parents blaming violence on video games. It just doesn't work. A couple of pshyco-idiots out there shouldn't represent the masses. Deppression is a big issure, especialy with teens. Some kids have a lot more to be depressed about than others. I don't think they should try to be happy like you said, instead they should fix the problem. Being depressed is a good indicater that there is something wrong with your life, and that you need to fix it. Ignoring it won't make anything better. Now that might not have been what you were trying to say, but it's how i took it... In my opinion, America's youth is hopelessly pathetic. And i say this knowing i'm among them. Our standards are so much lower than those of kids in other countries, and we're so spoiled and stupid. The "stupid" kids are going to take this comic literally, and that really is sad. I'm not saying everyone is like that, only the majority... Later.

Gaming Which company has influenced the industry the most?
Attimus331 replied to Morpheus's topic in Noosphere
Yes indeed, Nintendo, the little card company from Japan that revolutionized gaming as we all knew it. And also, thank God for Shigeru Miyamoto (did i spell that right?). -
Ok...i'm getting sick of these d***ed clones in Star Wars!
Heh, I opened my gifts already. What about you? I thought it'd be fun to find out what everyone got for Christmas. I got a whole crap load of gifts from my Family! Merry Christmas indeed! No need to go over EVERY gift, but my major ones were a brand new 20GB iPod (Since my old one broke...), a brand new digital camera (Kodak C7430), a brand new SLR Nikon, a most of all, a brand spankin' new car!!! I am the proud new owner of a 2003 Red Eclipse! Ahem, now what did you guys get? :D Note: I know some of us here may not celebrate Christmas, but feel free to share your Holiday experience anyways!
*in a weak tone* i got a 20gb iPod too...but that was it... *looks up and sees all the pretty things Sol-Blade got* i think i'm gonna go now....*as i walk away you can hear me start to cry* Gawd, i wish i got a car! You lucky SOB! I wish i were rich! *starts crying again* OOC: Yeh...i just got a 20gb iPod. I'm very happy with it, it's very cool. I love iPods! I got all of my music on it and everything, it's awesome. Later.

He can stop time, duh! You non-believers sicken me! Haha, just kidding. I like all the numbers that quote gave us, i find it odd though that somebody would want to try to disprove a kid's character. What if little Timmy came across this and discovered santa really wasn't real? He would be heart-broken. Good thing the guy's intentions were purely "scientific". This thread did give me a good laugh though, and i thank you for it. Later.

Haha. I'm half asian, and i often make fun of different races. I never mean it though. If that kind of stuff offends you then you should let it be known. Don't do anything you don't want to do. Peer pressure can change people, and in many cases it shouldn't. Be who you are. As for the liberal thing. Nobody's stictly one-sided, nobody. Later.

At first i was going to ask, "who the **** is Jhonen Vasquez?" Then i remembered Invader Zim and Johny. And i'd have to say, yeah i like his stuff. I think any decent anime out does his art but it's still quite cool and stylistic. Johny the homicidal maniac was really strange to me. A "goth" friend turned me onto it, i liked it but didn't care for it. And as for Invader Zim, it's one of my favorite shows on Nickelodeon, when i still watched Nickelodeon... I will say i did like his style. It was dark and cool. The characters were all very colorful, and you could like or hate them very easily. I remember the kid's sister that played the video games...she was creepy. And Zim's little robot thing always made me laugh. That song he used to sing was especially funny. Later.

I don't believe in the Ouiji board. I do believe in the supernatural and whatnot. Pretty much all the Ouiji board does is a person subconsciesouly has an answer to the question that is asked and the move it in that direction. It barely takes any force at all. Anyways, if your friend believes in it, you can mess with them, it's very funny. I've done it before. Friend: I'm gonna try and get touch with my dead uncle. Me: you gotta ask a question first... F: Okay...Uncle Fred...are you out there?? *we do the Ouiji thing, i move the thing towards "yes", he starts freaking out* It's sooooo funny! You guys should try it. Oh, and sorry if you believe in it....i might be wrong, you can believe what you want. Later.

Well i just heard about the thing today. I sat down at my kitchen table with my mother for a quick dinner and she told me. She said she was surprised that i didn't know...judging by her tone i think she was also trying to say i should get more involved with world affairs...or something. Anyways i was very shocked on the manor. I thought to myself, do i know anyone that lives in that area? No...no i don't, thank God. Anyways after i finished eating i tried looking for some info on the event...but i quickly got distracted. This thread was the first "solid" piece of information i got on the disaster. I'm pretty awstruck about the whole thing, it's all very crazy and very sad. The only good thing that comes from disasters is that we come to a realization that something was wrong. That something could have been done, but wasn't. Well...this is no different, i hope that we can learn from this and become better from it. That's about all i have to say. Later.

Gaming Holiday Titles and the Game Lists that follow...
Attimus331 replied to Brasil's topic in Noosphere
Well, i've got halo 2 already, so that wraps up my holiday wish list. Nothing really sticks out to me. I'll probably end up with a Nintendo DS, but i wish Advance Wars would come out with it, but i guess i'll have to wait. Any good suggestions people, i'm still very much undecided. I've got a Xbox, and Gamecube. I've got a GBA, but i'd rather get a DS instead of a GBA game.
