"David, go outside and play. Your mother and I must discuss something in private." "Ok, daddy." "Davey, I love you. Remember that." "I love you too, mom... Hey dad, what's that in your hand?" "Oh... uh... it's nothing. Just shut the door behind you." I remember there being more than one thud as I was leaving. One was the sound of the door hitting wood. The other was the sound of my mother's body... hitting the ground. I knew what was going on. Dad would check the windows first, to see if I was watching. I didn't need to watch. The walls were thin enough to that I could hear every curse slither out of his mouth, every wound inflicted on her face... all vivid enough to wake one up from a deep slumber. "Wake up! The sun is about to rise!" Illiya said this from next to my bed. Widdershins had worn a path in my sheet from prancing back and forth in an attempt to wake me. I didn't feel good, bad dreams have that effect on me, you just want to kill someone when you have the kind of dreams I normally have. Instead, I just faked a smile, I faked being okay. I felt better already. The first words out of Davey's mouth were, "What's for breakfast?" "Porridge! We already had it, so what's left is probably cold by now," rang Illiya like a song, "I guess you can just heat it up a little, yeah?" "Yeah." Davey pointed a crimson ring at his serving of porridge. He felt the pain, he enjoyed it a little, he saw the faces of those killed for this ring. He calls it the Blood ring, raw rage, raw frenzy, he's using it to heat his breakfast. Emotion bottled up for so long creates magic, you just have to learn how to use it. Davey crystalizes it. Davey sat down and pulled a chain out from under his night shirt. Its charm was a wedding ring, he studied it, and placed it close to his chest and had a moment of quiet reflection. "Your mom again, right?" Widdershins had a knack for sneaking up on people, being a cat and all. Davey put the chain down and ignored the question. It was an obvious answer. Instead of faking a conversation, he simply said "Today's the day." Widdershins gave a nod and walked upstairs, in the silence Illiya could be heard shuffling around, getting ready. In a half-hour's time, Davey had eaten his porridge, bathed, got dressed, and met the others in the foyer.

The new year! whats the first thing you did or are gonna do?
Goodbye, Face replied to orbindo's topic in General Discussion
At midnight I watched the ball drop with the folks, then ran back upstairs to console Sage Kaley about her dying computer. There were also some interesting chats going on, I happened to be in three different ones, lol. -
I've matured a lot over the past year, I think. I used to be really immature before then. The main kicker was when Emilie dropped out of school, I became desensitized to the world around me and life just wasn't fun for me anymore. I think I've grown up a lot, but those who knew me before all this drama know that I used to be really crazy. I took depression medicine for half a year and noticed an improvement once I got off of it this summer. Saying that, I think I act older than I am. There are certain things I'm not mature about, but I'm decidedly not girl-crazy, I make it a point to calm my younger friends down when they get hyper, and I've made a lot of choices that I plan on sticking to for the rest of my life. I have a friend my age who still has trouble with tying his shoes, so that's what I have to go off of, lol.

(mature???)Random question! What turns you on?
Goodbye, Face replied to orbindo's topic in General Discussion
I like tomboys, for the most part. I've had the privilege of meeting a really sweet and awesome one a few years back, but she recently dropped out of school and turned to drugs... like cocaine. I haven't met a single girl that I truly like except for a girl named Kit, she really likes me too, but we're too afraid of losing eachother as friends if something goes wrong. Yeah. Other than that, most of the girls here that I would go out with normally are either really shallow, or lesbians. It's sad. As for having a hot body, it doesn't matter too much. I have just one complaint, since Emilie, if you do drugs, I don't even want to know you. Sorry, it's just one thing I can't take anymore. If I really had to pick a girl in a room, it would be the one with short to shoulder-length brown hair who has enough to her that you can hug her without getting a papercut. It's just a slight preference, I don't care all that much. -
1011. Orphan, The - [There's Only One Thing Left To Do... #05] My Life As A Butcher [3:16] I saw this band live with Still Remains about a month and a half ago. Still Remains pwns this band, but they're still alright. They sound a bit like Thrice. I'm not into this song too much, they have a few better ones, but this is what random play is for. 0561. KILLWHITNEYDEAD - [So Pretty So Plastic #02] Save Your Sermons for Sunday So I Can Sleep This Night Off [2:04] Here's a cool song. If you don't know who KWD is, they mix metal music with movie samples and come out with songs that are so violent and sick, but that's what makes them hilarious. This is the only un-serious band I can stand. 0320. Comeback Kid - [Wake the Dead #03] Wake the Dead [3:17] I don't know what to say about these guys. In my opinion, they're a bad band, but they're catchy enough to make me like them. So... yeah. 0182. Bury Your Dead - [Cover Your Tracks #12] Losin' It [1:14] Ripped this from Brad's collection. They're alright, they have catchy beats, decent lyrics, and a good live show. I really don't what to say about them or this song, I don't listen to them much. 0449. Glass Casket - [We Are Gathered Here Today #06] Chew Your Fingers [3:11] I saw these guys live two nights ago. They're an amazing band with a sad story behind them. I don't know too much about it. I got to meet the drummer, he's a cool guy. Beware of headaches when listening. 1016. Sound of Animals Fighting, The - [Tiger and the Duke #04] Act II: All is Ash or the Light Shining Through It [4:19] These guys are amazing, there's 15 members all from different bands, and they use animals pseudonyms instead of their real names. I only know of a few members, one of the singers is Anthony Green from Circa Survive, another singer from Finch, and two members of Rx Bandits. They're worth checking out if you're into emo music and want it pushed in a different direction. 0923. Still Remains - [If Love Was Born to Die #04] The Task [4:19] Another one of Brad's cd's. I lvoe it, these guys are one of the best metal bands I've ever heard. If you want to get into them, this is one of their calmer songs. 0486. Hopesfall - [A Types Disc 1 #06] The Ones [4:39] I miss the old Hopesfall, the only good new song they have is "Icarus," this one is alright, but it pales in comparison to their old cd. 0788. School for Heroes - [Listen #04] Sleeping on Rocks [4:00] This is a beautiful song from a post-hardcore band from Florida that just got back together. "Sifter" is a better song, but whatever, it's random. 0721. Rifles at Recess - [Whisper in Tongues #07] I Died Twenty Times in 1986 [3:26] Obviously, I love this band. If you don't know what I'm talking about, check my screen name, haha. My signature currently borrows from their song "Dance On Your Grave," which is a better song. The end :p

These lyircs are for "Dr. Shaw" by Swift. They are a local band based in Winston Salem, NC and have three full length cd's and one EP. The songwriter/singer for this band is Gary Forsyth, and he writes about very real things, things that everyone can find themselves in. I took refuge in this song, for the most part. Not really for the father-abusing-child story in it, but more for the fact that Gary had problems that he couldn't tell people about, he alienated himself from his classmates and possible friends because he didn't know anything but pain. He couldn't find the right people to talk to and this is the result. He became a writer because of this. I have basically the same story to tell. Five years old with an imagination the size of the red sea and every night he's out to get me. I can't escape from his clutches. I don't know one day I might just run away with nothing left to give, Every time I lay my head on my pillow I get ****** up. Well I know that I can't wake my dad up or he'll send me back to bed with a spanking and I can't tell anyone at school, they'll just laugh and treat me cruel. Actually this guy is chasing me inside my head. I don't know if I'm alive or I'm dead. Will this guy ******* leave me? I can't seem to escape from these dreams and this madness. I gotta go wake my grandpa up because he's the only one who'll understand. Won't you stop chasing me because in these dreams I cry but no one hears me. Frustrated at what I am. I don't know. I talk to the doctors but they can't help me. I don't know which way is up or down all I know is he's chasing me. Won't you stop chasing me because in these dreams I cry but no one hears me. And I still get chills remembering the way that my head was tucked between the cold wall and my left arm and he's swinging that belt so hard, I can hear it cutting the air and I look up to him and I say: I hope you shoes shine from all the tears that you walk on. And I ran all the way home.

Writing Dusty DW And The Otaku Kid [PG-13]
Goodbye, Face replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
I almost feel sorry for James... almost... As Wraith said, I love all of the cooing and barking, haha. The talking bear, the bowl movements, everything was top notch, and a little smelly. Oh, and you have Charles down perfectly, I'm sure he agrees with me. Again, can't wait to see whatever you're doing next. Now that'll be a $3 service charge for this post. -
I met my best friend, Brad, in Art I class in ninth grade. We didn't start hanging out until I was in tenth grade, he was in eleventh. We've had art class together every year so far. Basically, he's my ride from place to place, I can buy things that I wouldn't dare ask my parents to let me buy, and we get in to some really cool shows in other states, etc. He's at my house practically every other day, and when we're not able to get together for some reason, like this week, he's visiting his mom out of state, I feel terrible. I guess he takes a lot of abuse from me, but overall, he's the best friend I could ask for and he has always been there for me. Lots of heterosexual love goes out to the man.

Art Slackers In Slacks [UPDATED DAILY]
Goodbye, Face replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Creative Works
My word, Gavin. I believe you've just reached a new level of worrying me. Idle Chat is the best, then it's a 29-way tie. Thank you for this, I'm printing these out tomorrow and showing people. You know, so they can be worried for your sanity as well. -
Worst movie in the whole world I would have to say the Tekken movie. It lacks the essence of each character, its just fighting but they never actually describe why they are fighting and then comes Anna with a bazukka gun and tries to kill Nina, Ana would not use Bazzukas.
Anna uses a bazooka in Tekken 5's intro movie. Silly Gabby. I can't really comment on the worst movie I've ever seen, I make it a point to only watch good movies. However, I thought Transporter 2 was a major letdown. It was just really cliche and overall just... dumb. I reviewed on my myO a few months ago and had some good laughs. It should have been sold as a comedy or a parody, it threw so many cliches and every event was expected. This is the most recent failure that I watched. *reads down to Sage Kaley's post* Yeah, Ring 2 was pretty bad, it tied up loose ends that weren't there to begin with. I disagree with Stark on Hide and Seek, I did predict the ending quickly, but it wasn't really a bad movie. It was an enjoyable movie, at the least.

Hawthorne Heights and... Still Remains? Interesting... As for SOAD, I strongly dislike them simply because I think that most of their songs, mainly their lyrics, are stupid. Apparently there's a song about pogo sticks and a fish? Another song where the singer chants "my d___ is bigger than yours"? Next. Yes, I understand that SOAD has a few meaniful songs and rare occurances of decent lyrics. I have to say that some of their songs, between the beat or the groove of whatever's going on, is alright. But when you're going back and forth between "The Pesident should fight the war" and "We're going to a party and having a real good time," we have issues. And yeah, I probably slightly misquoted their lyrics somewhere in this post, I'm at least close enough for you to get my point, yeah?

I was gone for a while. Sue me. I actually like playing Talim again, as I got accustomed to her new moves. I love that AA6BB 6 ~(AB) combo. It's fast and pretty, it can also be changed to not jump and instead sidestep, so you can attack low. You can also switch the Wind Sault move with whatever you want. A lot of her moves make more sense, it's just hard to adjust from SCII. And don't lie, satan665, we all know why you wanted to. :)

I don't come in here very much do I? What I do is take my free hand and position it how I need it, then you just draw all the hard lines you see, it's easier with than without. If you need the other hand, get a digital camera and photograph your hand in that position, or just get a mirror. Hope I helped.

Sign Up Fell Took [PG-13] [Character Profiles]
Goodbye, Face replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in Theater
Name: Davey Nightwind Role: The Warlock Appearance and Being condensed: Jet black hair covers gray eyes of sorrow. Has the look of a murderer, the true essence of his soul never appears due to insanity. He jumps back and forth between calm and crazy. He is obssessed with sharp objects, namely knives, and carries scores of them in a cloak like an alley dealer. Carries vials of poison with him always, he sabotages people, he fixes events, he knows when it'll rain. He is a murderer, he needs to do all of this, he has to know all of this, or he'll never stop watching his back. He dresses like the night because he is the night. The night wears black leather and stars of straps with silver buckles, auroras of rings. Rings of every color. Rings containing screams of the innocent, tears of sadness, and the warmth of love, among other things. These are his power. With out them, he is nothing. He uses a special knife which he made himself. There is no decoration on the hilt save a diamond-shaped hole at the bottom. His trick is that he picks a ring, unscrews the top of the ring containing the gem and screws it gem-first into the end of his hilt. Each ring represents a different power, a different emotion. All of this is known just from chance sightings when Davey was less cautious. Here are some other things you may have heard about him, truth is debatable. They say that he at one point took a prince captive and demanded ransom from the king. By the time the money came to him, Davey had already gone insane and killed the prince in a fit of anger. They say that he's in cahoots with another. A certain female witch, a con artist. She makes a mistake, he cleans up the mess. The story goes that he was an innocent young boy, raised by an abusive father. Father killed mother, Davey grabbed her hand and screamed at father... and monsters came out of her wedding ring and ate the man down to his skeleton. Since then, he snapped, calm sometimes, and insane others. Maybe he just pretends to be insane. Who knows? -
Yeah Jake, you'd be amazed. Then again, I don't understand the appeal of Green Day at all. I'm actually going to a concert tomorrow with the likes of KILLWHITNEYDEAD, Glass Casket, Bloodjinn, and The Demonstration. This is one of the best shows I could ask for, all of these bands are high on my list of favorites. I've yet to see KWD play, but I heard they're not quite as good in person, and it's actually a different band that is kind of liscensed to play their songs or something. I heard other rumors that KWD and The Demonstration are the same band, who knows? I also had the pleasure of seeing A Life Once Lost, Madball, Norma Jean, and As I Lay Dying at the Shadows are Security tour last month. It was amazing, it was the biggest show I've been to. People were fainting and being carried off on stretchers at this show, it was insane. So, you should either check it out or avoid it, depending on how you like your shows. That's about all I know of.

At my house I have some pretty generic stuff. I should start by saying that I am really really broke constantly. I have a New York Pro guitar that is basically a knock-off of a Fender Squier. It's black and white and I don't know much else about it, it came bundled with a small Danville amp for $150. I trashed the amp and got a Peavey one that is twice the size, which still isn't saying all that much, I think it's three feet tall, I don't have anything to measure with currently. As for pedals, I have this cool Digitech pedal that you can program with eighty different settings and select from them. I also have this really nice Metal pedal that my friend sold me, it's really worn out, the labels are ripped apart, so I honestly have no idea what it is. Very nice distortion. When I feel the need to play a good guitar, which is actually quite often, I just walk to my friend Rachel's house, which has a studio set up in it. She has two Epiphone Les Pauls of different colors and basically a bunch of equipment from your dreams. She also has some nice bass guitars and an electric violin, but they haven't invested in a drum set, sadly. I love her house. That's about it.
-
Actually, that has been attempted quite a few times, I heard. Each attack was immediately halted by some really crazy security. I know that at least one of the people who did it was sent to jail. I have a mySpace, I haven't used it in half a year. The story behind it was that I had a girlfriend who was obssessed with mySpace, and she'd basically only talk to me at school or through mySpace. It sounds really dumb now, but I guess she had me wrapped around her finger or something. I joined, got a buddy list full of bands I like, and when she dumped me, I dumped mySpace, that was easy. I still go on it every once in a while for convenience, but I don't actively use it.

I'm 17 and I came here to destroy the boards. Ok, for serious, I joined a long time ago because my friend (Zidane11) wouldn't stop talking about the place. I believe I actually signed up before I had the internet. I re-joined this summer because I had been continually checking up on the site. I guess I was bored and decided to just sign up again. I'm glad I did, I've met some really amazing friends here so far.
-
I accidentally opened up the box containing my Circle Takes the Square hoodie, I had ordered other things that shipped the same day and my parents thought it would arrive later or something. Whatever, it's very nice. I was able to check the size of the boxes today, I only asked for one cd and there's two cd-shaped boxes, so I've been wondering about that. There's also a lot of DVD boxes, which I'm guessing are games. There's a few other things, but I'm at a loss with those, mom like to put small stuff in big boxes, so we'll see.

The NEW What OB members would you like to meet IRL?
Goodbye, Face replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
I'd really be interested in meeting just about everyone here, but these are some of the cooler people I've met... Sage Kaley: My best internet friend and one of my best friends overall. She is simply one of the sweetest girls I've met and I hope to meet up with her someday. Quite clingy. :p Doc: When I first met him I thought he was suicidal or something, real self-downer. Eventually he opened up and became another one of my homies. If you haven't met Doc, you don't know what you've been missing. ElfPirate: Her sister has one of the best radio shows I've listened to, even if I've only listened to it twice. We've had some interesting conversations, and I'm still up for that swordfight, lol. Dragon Warrior: Simply put, he is the man. We were friends back when I was still Cloud Strife00 and we even talked after I left. Oh, and he introduced me to Sage Kaley, which gives him bonus points, lol. Ice Rose: One of the calmer people I know. I just met her, and I don't think I've seen her at her best (she's been sick for a while), but from what I've seen, she's awesome. Very fun to talk to, etcetc. James: Without James, I wouldn't have met any of these people. I think that deserves a plane ticket to NC right there, lol. We need to play some video games together, man. Generic NPC #2: Tony is the epitome of uncool. He's so uncool that he's undeniably cool. I'll end that thought there. I mean, he made Group Sounds, which was fun while it lasted. I'd IM him more if I could tell whether he was actually around or not. Retribution: Alex seems to me like he's one of those people who has volumes of inside jokes with everyone he meets. He's able to zip back and forth between seriousness and insanity with his (victim) not being the wiser. I'm sure at some point, everyone has been inspired by him. We need to talk more. -
Every time someone starts a metal thread, it ends in an argument about genres.
Just uhh, thought I'd tell you so. Yeah. Viking metal... I have heard of the genre, but I haven't heard of any bands that play it. Thus, I will try something new and look some of those bands up. I mean, if ElfPirate can get me into Folk Punk, I'm sure I can be made to like Viking Metal.
-
Every time someone starts a metal thread, it ends in an argument about genres. Can we all just please listen to Jake? lol. I like a few of Cradle of Filth songs, but I do feel that buying Nymphetamine was a mistake, as the only songs that I really liked were Gilded C*** and the title tracks. Oh well, the songs I do like, I like very much, at least. Hey Justin (or anyone else), have you picked up the new Chariot cd yet? It's actually worth those ten bones, although it's only six songs, lol. Yanni Depp is a really cool song, and some of the re-recordings are really good, while some aren't quite as good as the originals. I do like the fact that they did this in a studio, as opposed to a live recording, there really is an improvement, and I can actually listen to it in my headphones without too much worry.

January 20th or 21st, one of those days, it's unlcear... but one of those days, first semester ends. One of those days, I get my life back. I have all my important classes this semester, Art, Science, Math, and English. Homework from the three core classes everyday, consisting of an essay, chapters to read, pages of math to do, and hours of struggling. Not to mention I have to stay after in art class until 5PM on most days to finish anything I do in that class. Next semester is my chill semester, I have one core class, a freshman one: Civics and Economics (ELPSA). The rest of the classes? Creative writing, guitar, and Spanish I, which I've already taken in middle school. I plan to work on a webcomic and also do other artwork to sell. I have an outlet at Solaris, a local tapas bar. I know people who work there, and the artwork there sells for astronomical amounts, I look at some of the sold ones and I think I can do better. Thus, I found myself a job. ^^ This spring I plan on getting back into skateboarding. I'm also able to focus on foods that are healthy, as opposed to foods that are quick and easy to make, thus, I should be able to lose some weight, which is one of my ultimate goals. Other than that, it's all up to fate, yeah?

Gays hitting on Straights, whats your Opinion?
Goodbye, Face replied to Shwa's topic in General Discussion
I get hit on by gay guys a lot. In fact, I have this interesting story about it. I've been friends with a gay guy for a while, I assumed he knew that I was straight, so I never really brought it up. Then one day, about a year after I met him, he just turned around and kissed me. As soon as I came out of shock, I pushed him back and told him I was straight, and then we both apologized at the same time. That was... interesting. In any case, guys hit on me more than girls, which is a little scary, but I'm pretty much ok with it. I'd rather a girl say that I'm attractive, but I still consider it a very nice complement, lol. -
I saw this last night, I can't really say whether I really liked it or not, but it was at least an interesting experience. I enjoyed myself through most of it, and obviously, lots of money went into making it. You can almost smell the money coming out of the actor/esses' pores. I don't know if I could really recommend this to that many people. It is a strange one. I thought it was good, but it's really hard to get into. Did anyone else think this movie felt really short?
