It's hard not to get pumped when you listen to Hardcore and Metal music, haha. Some of my current mood-lifters are: "Mordecai" and "Arsonist" by Between the Buried and Me "Charger" and "Silent Celebration" by Swift "Memphis Will be Laid to Waste," "I Used to Hate Cell Phones but Now I Hate Car Accidents," and "Coffinspire: Multitudes, Multitudes in the Valley of Descision!" by Norma Jean "Dialogue With a Question Mark," "Die Interviewer (I am Only Speaking in German)," and "If Wishes Were Horses More Beggars Would Ride Them" by The Chariot

*raises hand* I'm a fencer! I play on my high school's team and this past year was a good year for us, as we got to the Junior Championships and met some Olympic fencers who happened to be watching their future competition. Other than fencing, I skateboard, I used to play hockey and participate in Karate, but I pretty much dropped out since they weren't being taken that seriously. My Karate class was mostly six or seven-year-olds and for me there just wasn't any progress.

I traveled a little with my band last month, just through the surrounding states. We all got food poisoning from somwhere on the way home, that was fun... We decided to stop tourning after that fiasco, so I don't know if I'm going anywhere else. I think we're (me and my parents) going to Pennsylvania to visit some of my family, but I don't really know. A lot of my family visits us as opposed to us visting them.

Gaming Best Battle System , Which RPG had it?
Goodbye, Face replied to Sir Auron's topic in Noosphere
My favourite RPG battle system is the one in Final Fantasy Tactics...
It doesn't sound like you've played one of the NIS games (Disgaea, La Pucelle, Phantom Brave, etc.). They're all great strategy RPG's and are all definitely more in depth than Final Fantasy Tactics. There's more customization (I'll use Disgaea as an example here, since I play it the most) than in FFT since you can choose a character class when you make a character, then that character can make another character and make him/her a magic user and learn spells off of him/her. You can also pick up one character after another and make a hilarious totem pole of 15 characters and a monster at the top. All of the games take at least 75 hours to beat, and most of the games cost $30, except for Disgaea and some of the newer ones. Either way, you're getting quite the bang for your buck, as most poeple don't complete the game in less than 200 hours. ^_^ Just letting you know. -
Gaming Best Battle System , Which RPG had it?
Goodbye, Face replied to Sir Auron's topic in Noosphere
I hate almost every RPG battle system (I'm a big RPG fan for some reason, though). I'd like it a bit better if the fights were... Tekken-ish, that would be cool. There are a number of RPG battle systems I love, however, and I'm surprised no one mentioned them... Legend of Legaia: You could select moves between your arms and your legs and link them into special moves or even Hyper or Secret Arts for big damage. You could also capture some enemies and summon them into battle. Kingdom Hearts: In my opinion the best RPG battle system ever made. You all probably have at least played the game so I shouldn't have to go into detail on it. I also love the .hack series' fights, even if the camera is a bit wonky. -
I guess I'm like Dagger, if I have a lot of stuff that needs to be done, I try to make a schedule around it. I usually always fail to do some part of it, though. I'm usually a perfectionist, so I do tasks that would normally be small over a long period of time and try to get it right.

I didn't even get a PM, what a shame... Kaige dropped from the skies down to his old friend, still guarding the castle gates. By the time he started to turn and gasp, it was too late... Kaige had a knife to his neck. Kaige: Tell me where my dragon is... Guard: Heheh... What dragon? Kaige: (pressing harder, creating a wound... he'd have to kill him now) Where's Rath?! Guard: After we captured you, we tried to take your dragon... but he flew away. You're traveling in a group, now... right? He's probably flying back towards them... He realizes he's going to die anyways Guard: Shit... Please don't kill me Kaige! Kaige!!! Kaige: Bye, old friend, but you knew it'd come to this before you put me in that cell... Rath had quite a lead in front of Kaige, but him and Fang were off in an instant, searching for both their friends and Kaige's dragon... Edit: Haha, I said I had a knife up to his next...

*refrains* Yeah, I have a problem with just blurting out whatever's on my mind at any given moment. I coined a few strange catch-phrases at my school, trust me, it's worth being embarassed over. My dad listens to the same music as myself, and I have to constantly tell him to stop trying to do that metal screaming stuff in front of my friends. I'm sure I'm at fault somewhere in that picture... That's probably it.

This band is another one of my old favorites that I don't really care for anymore, joining the list of AFI, Atreyu, Bleeding Through, Walls of Jericho, etc. My friend got me into them and took me to one of their shows, I bought Waking the Fallen and haven't listened to it in probably a year. I have been listening to a bit of their new stuff, but I don't like it as much as their old stuff; it just feels "less authentic" if you know what I mean.

I'm still trying to figure out the point of the AO rating. At 17, you can watch R rated movies, which contain sex and nudity. So why increase a mature rating when you could find even worse material in R-rated films? Is it because of the fact that most adults view games as a kids only thing? As far as GTA is concerned, the rating should be fine. It's not like you can actually see the sex happening, etc. Why isn't this issue being brought up with God of War, which has an actual sex mini game?

We have seven cats and two birds, currently. The cats are named mostly after FF characters, except for a few where mom intervened: Terra, Sophie, Perrie, Emma, Mina, Cid, and Setzer. We also used to have brothers named Kuja and Sabin, but they had the same disease at around the same time and eventually died from it. Odd, the vet said he had no idea what it was. My birds and named Blue and Kiwi, simply because of their coloring. I used to have over 20 hamsters (oops!) and a dog. The hamsters (which ALL of them were named after FF characters) died of old age about a year ago. The dog was named Steele after Balto's nemesis. We got rid of the dog because it attacked a little girl in our neighborhood...

I was trying to find a song on LimeWire and it turned out that 400 people already had it... or so I thought. It was the title of the song I was looking for, but it wasn't the right song. I feel sorry for those 400 people. As for high-pitched screamers, there's more in emo/screamo than there is in metal. If you're interested, check out The Sound of Animals Fighting. Odds are, you'll think they're weird, but you'll like them. I've become friends with a metal band that has been causing a stir in the metal scene. They're called Sanctity, at first they sound more like mainstream metal, but then they get heavy. Another odd band for you to (find... and) try out.

Gaming The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Goodbye, Face replied to ThePikasElbow's topic in Noosphere
I found that I gave up in frustration more often playing this Zelda than any other. I loved the graphics, the story had its cool moments. Seriously, I was going from GameFAQ to GameFAQ for second opinions on this one. Like, I knew what to do, but it was too hard to do so for some reason. Granted, when I played it, I hadn't played any Zelda games since A Link to the Past. Since then, I've gotten Ocarina of Time (for two bucks!) and liked it a lot more than Wind Waker. -
Gaming Who is your prefered Dynasty Warriors character?
Goodbye, Face replied to PWNED's topic in Noosphere
I like basically all of the Wu characters, especially Lu Xun, Sun Shang Xiang, and Zhou Yu. Even though they're rather weak, they're fun to play as and that's what counts. I also like Zhuge Liang and Ma Chao from Shu and Cao Cao from Wei. I haven't played DW5 yet, I'll probably get it when it comes down to $20. I'm not that big of a fan. -
And does anyone besides me have any respect for Assassin?![/SIZE']
No, be we all love and respect Hwang. He was the first character I ever played as in Soul Edge/Blade. To other people: I find Maxi to be a great character, but he's unreliable compared to some other characters. Unless you're specifically a Maxi player, you have no idea what'll happen when you press that button! Many say that Yunsung has the best kicks, but they must have forgotten about Maxi, his kicks come out of nowhere and usually set the opponent up in the air to be juggled with even more kicks. Voldo is the man! I've just started really playing as him and getting good with him. I mean, come on, he can do the worm! He also walks like a spider and can juggle people right out of the ring by humping them! Crazy. The next character I gotta work on is Mitsurugi, I never really liked him or played as him much. He has a lot of moves where you have no idea when they're gonna hit when you see them.

the worst/funniest pickup lines
Goodbye, Face replied to mary no jutsu's topic in General Discussion
We had a project in school where we had to make a list of something. My partner decided to do a list of the top 50 worst pick-up lines. I don't have the list, but I remember what graced the number one spot: "If you were my homework, I'd be doing you on my desk right now." I'll have to bother my friend for the rest of them. -
Ah, Kamuro, yet again, you astound me with how you actually know what you're talking about! Thank you. As for Underøath, I do realize how much they've changed. Their older stuff was way, WAY better (IMO). What happened to the breakdowns? Why did they murder their musical integrity? Why did they turn into a friggin' POP BAND? Sorry. Anyway, I was referring to "They're Only Chasing Safety", and I do realize that the old stuff was way more 'hxc'. But either way, like you said, they aren't metal. Symphony in Peril is alright, but I haven't heard enough of them to form a set-in-stone opinion. And if you want bone-shattering, heart-crushing, heavy-as-your-fucl
Aw, come on. Listening to more stuff like Nightwish isn't going to make me any different. I can't stop liking Underoath or AFI or Taking Back Sunday or anything else you disagreed with. What matters is that I like what I like and you like what you like, and we're separate individuals.
I agree with AdV, everyone has different tastes. I have all the Underoath, TBS, and AFI cd's (and some albums). Most of it's great stuff, I just think you need a little more of an open mind, Jake. :)

I meant that instead of telling that person how you feel, you're writing that poem about it instead. I didn't miss your feelings in the poem, I think I hit it on the nail, but maybe I didn't word it right or you didn't read it right.
Evil Eye is one of his deadliest moves because it starts off as a regular swing, but is an instant stun and there is hardly any time to guard break. Same thing with his grabs, he doesn't require much movement to get a hold on someone, whereas most characters need the swinging animation to grab someone. Nightmare just reaches out. God, I hate Cervantes. Yeah, his moves are trickier, and he has that lame-*** spin-on-my-sword-yarharhar move that I loathe, but in a contest of wits and power, Nightmare wins. He has the reach, a huge advantage of power, and can have good speed if you use him right. Also, Nightmare's stances are very important, because he has some VERY deadly change-ups if you do things right. Eh, Taki is usually dead within ten seconds of a match starting with me. Most people I know can't play her well, and I find myself lacking sometimes unless I go through a few matches with her and get used to the moveset. I prefer sticking with characters I know.
I have a friend who's a great Taki player. He uses that side-stepping roll that gets around Nightmare's deadly vertical attacks and comes around with a flurry of attacks. Granted, if one of Nightmare's attacks hit, Taki's done within a few seconds. It ends up being about 50-50 between me in my friend in that set-up. I began playing as Cervantes after losing to a Cervantes player in tournaments two times in a row. I started getting really good with him, probably not as good as I am with Nightmare though. If "NM" starts using lots of long range attacks, you can just back up, go into preparation and press B and he'll basically turn into a fireball. If timed right, you could also use 4B+K and attack him while he's in mid swing. Slow characters like Nightmare have a lot of weaknesses to exploit, so you need to prepare for them. Using lots of fast attacks against a fast character usually doesn't work as well as waiting for a chance to use more powerful attacks. As for sticking with character you know, I perfer to play as everyone, I have a few favorites that I play more than others, but I get bored easily. I have friends who play as Mitsurugi or Kilik every time, and sure, they're great with them. It gets to the point that I just use a character that exploits their weakness better. Speaking of Kilik, a lot of people seem to like him here so I'll voice my opinion. I don't like Kilik because a quick character like Talim and dive in for an attack while Kilik is in mid-attack and kill him. Why? He has few quick, short-range attacks. He can't stop someone who's beating him down right on top of him.
I'm not blessed with the virtues of digital cable, so channels like "Fuse" are pretty much impossible for me to see. I'm left with VH1 and the stereotypical MTV which plays music about 1 out of the 24 hours in a day. And that one hour is full of music, that ironically, I don't like lol.
That is horribly true. If you look at MTV's schedule on DTV or in the TV Guide, only one hour is dedicated to music videos. It's at like 6 in the morning, I forget. Anyways, Jake, with your recommendation, I'll try to find it to watch it.

Heh, you live somewhere near me, Justin, I can tell. I can't believe I forgot to list the Chariot, I saw them live last week and they put on a very funny show. Josh stopped the band in the middle of a song to say he "saved 15% or more on his car insurance by switching to Geico." I'm happy to say that I've met up with Spencer of Underoath three times going to other band's shows. I guess whenver he isn't touring he comes to hang out at the place that started some of his success (Ace's Basement, NC). Here's another popular NC band: Swift. These guys were basically my gateway drug into metal. Their lyrics are very easy to find yourself in (they're also easy to understand). Their drummer is the best producer in NC, Jamie King. He recorded He is Legend's first cd, KILLWHITNEYDEAD's cd's, and 2 of Bloodjinn's cd's. Also, these guys aren't really metal, but hardcore, they're called Circle Takes the Square and they've been my favorite band since 2003. They manage to not really play heavy (most of the time, their guitars don't have the gain turned all the way up), but they're quite heavy. Everyone in the band is incredibly talented as musicians, writers, and their vocalist, Drew, is an amazing artist and he draws pictures for his own band and for their friends Kylesa.

Seigfried was my best in Soul Edge/Blade. ^_^ Nightmare is a great character, I'm good at making people stay down with him, since he has a lot of moves that leave opponents helpless. That quick uppercut of his (3A, I think) catches people off guard very easily. He can definitely hold his own against any character but I think Cervantes is a little better than him, since he has trickier moves and better speed. I also find that Nightmare telegraphs his moves a lot, making it easier for the opponent to tell when to guard impact, which is bad... He does have a few fake-out moves that keep opponents on their toes, though.

Like Sui Generis, candy makes me sick very fast, especially M&M's, so I try to avoid those. I like fruit candies more than chocolates. I love those Japanese candies they sell at anime stores, I have a friend who stocks up on that stuff and I always steal a bag from him, lol. I have no idea what they're called, but they have a little cartoon frog on the packaging. I also like Jolly Ranchers, Dots, and Gobstoppers.
