Contrary to DC, I like "No Four Leaf Clover" better. The middle of the last stanza has a bit of "I just broke up with someone" written into it, but I don't think that's quite what it's about. Is it just that nothing seems to go right in your life and you blame it on luck? That's what I do. XD As for "Better With Words," it seems like you're secretly writing a letter to someone who isn't interested in poetry, or that you just don't want to show your true feelings towards that person. :-/

Also, you forgot about me, I listed some high-quality metal acts! Meanwhile, I'm tired of people calling bands like Avril Lavigne, Linkin Park, Yellow Card, Simple Plan, etc. as Punk. They are not punk, they are Alt. Rock and Powerpop, not Punk... Thank you for (at least the last few people that posted, the list only goes so far down so I don't know about the rest) not listing any of these bands as punk, even though they are pushed by the media as such!

I borrowed this game from a friend about a month ago. The graphics are really cool, but the voiceovers and the lack of difficulty killed it to me. All you really needed to use was the regular attack combo to beat the enemies and bosses. Basically, I thought the game was cool at the beginning but by the end it was just annoying. Then again, what would you have expected from Square right before Final Fantasy XII? (Even though the game keeps getting delayed) Oh! And I'm still waiting for that Parasite Eve sequel! Didn't they promise something when the PS2 launched?
-
Well, it's definitely the best in the thread! It brought a little tear to my eye because I thought of a friend who goes through that everyday (if it's about what I think it's about). It's just really great, I've been giving others more harsh criticism, but here I see nothing to change to make it any better than it already is.
I disagree here. Dude, haven't you seen Metal Asylum? They play some serious metal! I've seen them play a Suffocation video, for God's sake! I can't think of a single other video channel that has the guts to play a video by Suffocation. Rockzilla and Slave to the Metal aren't bad either, but Rockzilla plays pretty much mainstream stuff though.
I've only seen commercials for Metal Asylum. :animeswea I've seen As I Lay Dying and Norma Jean on MTV, while most of the metal I see on Fuse isn't my style. Most of the ones I've seen (I watch tv maybe an hour a day) are the "stereotype" bands.

Just a thought: Do you know how hard it would be to find other players using the random word system? They're probably going to either limit the words or use another system in the online game. Also, would you be able to cross between servers?

I was born on Friday the Thirteenth... 11/13/88. I'm a scorpio and was born in the year of the dragon. For some reason, I never come close to my horoscopes.

It's a whole lot better, I just think line 2 has too many syllables, though. I think it's "slashes" that's throwing me off when I read it. -
well i just graduated from middle school earlier this month all i can say is that i cried i hugged and i cried somemore. well i played piano at graduation and own an award. the award was kool. when i was palying piano i was so scared my whole body was shaking i coudn't even press the pedal correctly cuase my leg was shaking so much. lol i'm gonna miss all my friends that are going to differant highschools. all the times we had. man i feel like crying now. i ahve to stop
If your high school is anything like mine, you'll be fine. I still talk to all my old middle school friends and I've made lots of new friends that changed my life. We actually have a school "lottery" program going on where the state throws incoming high school freshmen into a random school in the county, so that's rather tough, but you meet a lot of new friends that way as well. All in all, you'll be fine after your first week.

I like any music that has meaning to it and treats itself as it's supposed to be: an art form. I like everything except for country, rap (I like hip-hop, though) and pop. I never go mainstream. The closest to mainstream music I go is My Chemical Romance and Gorillaz. Considering music genres, I'm somewhere around (Indie) Rock and Hardcore and Metal bands. My favorites include: Circle Takes the Square Norma Jean Christiansen Beloved He is Legend Swift The Sound of Animals Fighting Between the Buried and Me AutoDefe Alli With An I The Chariot Coheed and Cambria My Chemical Romance If you want to know more about a band I listed, PM me.

We live in the land of the insulted and the home of the lawsuit (at least a lot of us do, for those of you who don't, you get what I'm saying). Some of the stupidest people win the stupidest lawsuits. I heard about a lawsuit where a lady crashed her car due to thick fog (which is nature) and sued a nearby paper mill which had nothing to do with it... and won! So really, I can't see a solution coming anytime soon. Then again, I can't stand music channels anyway, all they play is Green Day, Avril, Simple Plan, etc; and never dig down for any underground bands, no matter what genre. Fuse used to do this, but it seems like they've just become another MTV. So now if I like a music video, I just download it off their website or something like that, they tend to be uncensored anyway.

I'd also like to add that if you're not going to have a rhyme scheme or a rythm, to not go out of your way to rhyme a certain part. I have a problem with lines 5, and 6 simply because they don't make sense, like it's there just to add the rhyme (which only works with emphasis) and it doesn't contribute to the poem. Also, does the "Hiding Moon" mean anything to you? It doesn't seem to make sense either. -
Reading this, I can't help but think back to 2001 where everyone's sig had pointless nonsense and club lists that went on for entire feet. 600 characters isn't going to bring it any closer to that, so I'm all for it, even though I probably would never use the space.

I like what I read, DW! When I realized how long it was, I started skimming, I also skipped the spoilers because I haven't seen it yet. You've made me want to go see it, even though I detest Batman (and Superman)... just after War of the Worlds. XD

Writing Poems I've written in the past year [PG V L]
Goodbye, Face replied to Goodbye, Face's topic in Creative Works
I really love your poems despite the sad tones. It sounds like they would make good songs. I'll be sure to visit your site. ^_^
Thank you! I write songs too, but I usually don't like them as much as my poems. As for the site, I'm updating it a little, just like five pieces though, in fact, here's one that has more of a hip-hop undertone. One of my friends suggested that I try to make something of a rap song, so I made this one, and I taped him rapping it, which is pretty funny, but it also make the poem that much better. I'm also not much of a rhymer, but I did throw subtle ones in for emphasis. "I Forgot the Title of This Poem" To read... to understand this poem Is not to read the words but to feel the beat. These beats hail back from the Phili streets Where I have forgotten... But a part of me still hasn't left. To tour this black-and-white neighborhood with me... Just to glimpse over my shoulder As I try to remember a face without a name tied to it. To see your best friend ten years from now, To forget him ten years from now. Just watch as my blank stare pierces your shields And my words bleach your skin... in fear... "I don't know you anymore." Feel this cold shoulder as I keep walkin' Down these Phili streets, where I'm all but forgotten. I'm having problems with the bold tag, the end tag is there but it isn't working... Took a look at the bold issue for you -- there was a blod tag further up that was never closed, so I fixed it for you. ^-^ -- Lady Asphyxia. -
I actually knew about this place before I had the internet. My friend, the long-gone Zidane11 introduced me to theOtaku.com at his house and then showed me the boards, they were actually the first message boards I had ever seen... keep in mind I didn't have the net. So I got the net and signed up as Cloud Strife00 then later changed my name to Axel--Ignition for my RPG character that I always used. After that, I kinda disappeared for two years. Oh, and I remember GinnyLyn, I used to be a big Digimon poster, lol.
I bought them as soon as they came out, but i have to say it was $49.99 well spent in the long run POST OR REPLY DONE BY -Wes- OF THE SSF
I bought .hack//INFECTION the day it came out because it sounded very interesting to me. The funny thing about it was the fact that I had a weird dream right before I heard about the game that me and some friends got trapped inside an RPG, it was odd. So I paid $50 for that one. I later paid $35 for Mutation, $50 for a glitchy copy of Outbreak, which I returned and bought again later for $20, then I got Quarantine for $20, so I feel pretty lucky I guess. I cringe at the thought of paying $200 for four games that are exactly alike, but back then I was about to.

You seem to start off with a cool rhyme pattern of A A B C D D E F But then you drop off of it and begin rhyming when possible and it kind of throws it off a little. It has a cool meaning, as it seems to come from your life, however (and I do usually have problems with rhyming) you try too hard sometimes to rhyme two words and you just end up with excess lines or you get thrown off your rythm. I'd tell you to keep working on it a little more, and I'm interested in seeing more!
-
I agree, it's very emotionally deep and I like it.
-
Lucky for people new to the series, the .hack games are $20 a pop, now. I wish they'd sell them in a box set or something for a cheaper price. It seemed like that was their original intention. I'll have to agree with you that they were my favorite anime video games. I played a demo of Ghost in the Shell and enjoyed it, but I'm rather broke and I haven't been able to justify paying for it until I can get it used for ten bucks, lol.

You guys keep saying there's people at your school who watch anime... how your friends watch anime... I just keep getting really jealous when I visit this forum. If I buy an anime, I watch both versions. I perfer dubs simply because I don't want to have to read while there's heavy action that I'm missing by looking at the words. I do think that the Japanese acting is usually better than the American voice acting, but I don't have a preference either way.

I graduate in two years, but I'm already feeling the hurt since almost all of my friends were seniors. I only keep in touch with like two really close ones and I've been trying to find some of the other guys' screen names and phone numbers, etc. I really can't imagine school without some of them, My senior year is going to be even more depressing since a lot of my junior friends will have graduated and all I'll have are my younger friends who don't amount to that many.

This argument fits everything from gay marriage to "satanic" metal tours. If you don't like it, don't go. The Ozzfest has an obviously huge fanbase, so why would you want to stop them from coming to your state? Is it going to desecrate your land? No! Is it going to bring Satan to your door? Hell no! So why? Why can't you put on your Frank Sinatra (or whatever) and shut up and let the metal kids enjoy their show?
After reading about this in several magazines, MGS3 is getting a remake. And it won't be a remake like MGS2, with crappy skateboarding extras and whatnot. This is the real deal remake. There are tons of new features. ! : Online multiplayer. This is the biggest thing. How cool is that? You can play either the standard deathmach or a Snake vs. Mercenaries, kind of like Splinter Cell, where 7 mercenaries will search for one Snake. ! : Reworked camera. You can play both single and multiplayer with a full 3-D camera, or stick with the just as good top down style. Hideo Kojima, the creator of the MG games, says he and several Japanese gamaes are susceptible to motion sickness when playing ful 3-D games. He wants to play games like Halo or Grand Theft Auto, so MGS3:S camera is his "practice" for these games. ! : More camoflague and face paints are added in the game. I hope you start out with better camo in the beginning. Let's replace that almost useless Olive Drab with something better :animesmil . ! : More of that stupid-yet-completley-compelling Snake vs. Monkey. If I can, I will find the screenshots of Snake facing off against Metal Gear Ape. Things I would want before the release: Maybe a little more modes in multiplayer, or possibly a online co-op mode in the Snake vs. Mercenaries. I wouldn't have two Snakes, but the ability to choose any MGS character you want, even maybe bosses or villians :animesmil . -the one and only
Yeah, the online multiplayer sounds incredibly odd in true Hideo Kojima fashion. Your character has to follow rules. Apparently, someone is Snake, and everyone else is a guard/soldier/whatever. If snake throws a magazine, you have to look, giving him ample time to gun you down. If you hear a noise, you need to see what made it. It sounds interesting... but strange. I hope it works out.

The only anime songs I really find pleasure in listening to are from FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, and some of Samurai Champloo. In fact, after watching FLCL, I searched for and bought several of The Pillows' cd's.
