Good choices but I'm going to have to go with..
Having to fight God in Disgaea
I mean, who da thunk it? But because alot, if not most of you don't know what Disgaea is, I'll have to go with Ghaleon from Lunar Silver Story Complete. Yeah.
If my memory serves me right, you don't fight
God in Disgaea. There are gods though, there's the Prinny God, and there's the Item Gods
. You're pobably thinking of
Seraph Lamington or Baal
. Also, who hasn't heard of Disgaea? It might be discontinued, but everyone who would like it has probably played it by now.

Jumping back to the pub... EDIT: I fixed that... maybe now I can keep my posts straight... Robin walked in the room as Kaige, Jason, and Kyoske were fighting eachother, each saying defensive statements and mistrusting replies. Robin knew who these guys were, as she actually had some info. Robin: Can everybody STOP?! Silence... Robin: You're on the same team, the guy in black might look evil, but he's one of us. (under breath) He doesn't look very friendly though... Robin sucessfully stopped the fighting and they all shook hands and began a conversation...

I must've edited this post twenty times... Kaige dropped down from about 15 feet as Rath landed. He didn't see Kyoske yet. Instead, he ran over to what used to be a pub. The roof had collapsed over itself. It smelled like death... beer and death... He found a few intact bottles and opened one and sat next to a woman's corpse. He offered her a drink. Kaige: Oh. no... The drink is on me tonight... Kyoske overheard this and went to see what was going on... He was already suspicious of Kaige from the flapping wings he heard earlier, as not that many people have dragons. He was hoping that this guy wasn't a rouge. EDIT: Adding more... Kaige stood up and drew his weapon as two men came through the door, with their weapons pointed at him...

After about a half-hour of flying, Kaige realized he had exhausted all of his booze. He checked his landmarks and pulled a map out of a strap in his cloak. His destination happened to be known for their special brew, so he decided he was going there for a 'pit stop' as well as whatever his ruler had in mind. He saw it first from far away and couldn't believe it. It looked like every disaster known to man happened in this place. There were very few buildings still erect. He decided to check out the scene... just to see what caused it. Here's looking at you, Raze.

lol. Nice intro. Kaige was to leave for Tar Valon today. Kaige knew little about it, just told to go there. He got his things together. His belongings consisted of his cloak with many straps and pockets containing everything he usually uses on his assignments. About 10 knives of different sizes and styles, two canteens of water, another canteen of booze, a few bandages, a several vials of different colored liquids, some were glowing. Before putting his cape on, he changed his belt to one attached to a sheathe (I spell checked this, I don't know if this is the right word). He picked up his saber and did a few routines with it before putting it away. He then went into his fridge (or time-appropiate container) and packed enough food for three days and tied it loosely to his dragon, Rath, who was looking calmer than usual. Kaige had brought his cloak down with him, he put it on and grabbed Rath's reins and guided him toward the doors leading outside. On his way out, several people were gathered around the doors (as usual) and as always, they glared at him. They didn't know how he killed their hero in sleep, but they knew he did it. Kaige just smiled at them as he started running outside, Rath running as well. He hopped on Rath and they rode off to Tar Valon...

Favorite, strangest and most annoying commercials on TV now
Goodbye, Face replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
I don't know how recent these comercials are, but there are some foreign (outside of US) commericals that my friend sends me. One is a car commercial which is basically a "Singing in the Rain" remix, where the guy's in the street, singing the song, the beat turns to a remix of the song, and the guy put his umbrella down and starts break dancing. There's two other car commericals that are incredibly evil, they advertise a Sport-ka, I don't know the maker of the car though. One has the car in a driveway that is opening its sunroof all by itself and a cat jumps on top of the car, looks down and and the window closes and... beheads the cat. Fake of course. THe other one has a pidgeon on a tree branch right up to the camera. The car is parked in the street nearby. The pidgeon starts flying all nice and pretty. It flies towards the car... WHAM! The hood of the car flies up and sends the pidgeon sailing. There's a few shorter commercials advertising an energy drink called K-Fee, where they make you stare at something really small and quiet, then BOO! Zombie, haha... that was so funny... yeah. There's a dutch commercial about a dutch-to-english school. There's a nice older family and their two young kids getitng in a car. They strap their seatbelts and turn on the radio to hear "I wanna F you in the A" to a techno beat. They're all smiling and bobbing their heads to the beat as they ride up the hill. At the bottom of the screen, "Want to learn English?" appears. That's it. I got sent these, so there's probably somewhere online where you can find them. -
What Does your sig, avi and username say about you.
Goodbye, Face replied to shinji172's topic in General Discussion
Sean You're probably not that creative or just think that screen-name-ish screen names are stupid. So instead, you made your actual name your sn, easy to remember, but people will still remember you as the A Perfect Cricle guy, as it decorates your post quite obviously. You have a link to an RPG in your sig. Actually, I didn't check the link, so it could be an anthology, but for analysis purposes, it's a RPG. You also love someone, her name is Muse, so I'm guessing that's an sn. Meaning that you either met eachother on OB, you invited her to OB, or she invited you. I guess that's it. -
Well, I'm not the best person to answer, I'm sixteen, but I think it's all his problems and not yours, so don't fault yourself. The only real problem I see with getting divorced is your daughter. Getting a divorce will probably hurt her. You should try to figure out how to compromise with him.

(yep, I'm joining both of yours) Name: Cowboy Gender: Male Age: 23 Power: Poison Side: The Nine Personality: A little twisted, there's obviously something wrong with his brain, though we're unsure what. He is quite serious. He doesn't believe in or participate in small talk, when he says something it's to be assumed that it's important. He's the perfect killer. People wonder if he really sees others for who they are, or just how easily he could kill them. His style doesn't seem to have the capacity for this, but he is incredibly honorable about it. Killing is his sex and blood is his ecstasy. Appearance: Sorry, no picture, I'll draw one if you want. Axed shoulder-length black hair. Eye color doesn't matter, as it's always covered by a wide-rimmed hat. He wears mostly black, very worn, most of it looks gray. He wears a vest and cowboy shoes (pointed, with that star in the back, you know what I'm talking about) with one of the stars broken off. Weapon: This takes some explaining. He was bitten by a snake and the poison was speading. His piece of the stone attached to his necklace was glowing. Somehow he knew to take it off the necklace and hold it to the bite, his hand turned mostly purple, it was the opison stone's power going into his blood. The purple blood spread all the way to his feet and all the way to his other hand. After some experimentation, he decided the best way to use his new poison-inflicting powers was to make gloves with long nails that were drilled into veins in his hand. This would supply the "fangs" with poison from his blood. His power also allows him to pressurize his blood and shoot the fangs out, but he can't do that to often, as blood sprays out with the nail. Ancestor bio: Gave the phrase "Choose your poison" a new meaning. He was an alchemist who had a major drinking problem. He'd drink anything, and he'd do anything when he was drunk, even help eight of his friends kill the king. Bio: Cowboy (yes, that's his real name) was a little odd as a youngster, he did insane things on impulse, have seizures, uncontrollably twitch, and many other things. It just got worse as he got older, all of the little things stopped and something inside him eventually cracked, with no explanation. He loved playing with knives, he cut himself without an excuse occaisonally. He murdered his first person at 14 years old. Just some random person that got on his nerves. This brought about a life of killing, as the record states, he's killed one million people... 1...2...3...4...5, make that a million and one. Not a team player, but he doesn't mind being in a group as long as people don't mess with him. As for that extra stuff you guys put at the end about current things, check my Weapon entry. EDIT: I edtied a few personality defects, he basically is made less insane, due to the lack of "A constant wide smile." I normally like to play as quirky people but I didn't like how Cowboy came out on paper.

Name: Kaige Splintersteel Age: 19 Gender: M Personality: Generally a good guy, however there's two things that could be his flaw, he's sarcastic, and he treats people like they owe him something (most of the time) Appearance: Long black hair, gray eyes, medium height and thin. He wears a black tunic with a black cloak over it which carries supplies for later (potions, etc) City: Rishek... I guess Weapon: This would be the guy I'd want to have with a cloak filled with knives of every shape and size, but I'll have to change that to a long and thin sword which he is incredibly skilled with (think fencing). Bio: Kaige is an expert in the dark arts, he makes his pain his greatest strength. Rishek sent him because the one they originally chose suddenly died in his sleep the next day, no wounds, nothing. That's right, Kaige did it. He is a master at tricking people. His only vice is his extreme lust of power. No, he doesn't want to be king or anything big, he wants to dominate the weak minded with his more capable intellect. How'd he get this way, you ask? (Let me know if this messes anything up) There was a revolt in Rishek a few years back, Kaige was about seven. His parents, as well as himself, were faithful to the old king. However, that faithfulness ended when the rebels began to storm into residences and kill people who weren't with them. Kaige's parents saw this and told him to hide. He hid, but peeked out of a crevace and watched his parents get brutally murdered right in front of him. Some say that this drove him mad. All things considered, he's a valuable asset to the team, but just watch out when he starts seducing you into thinking his way. Dragon Profile 1 Name: Rath Gender: M Type: Dark Appearance: A black dragon with bloodshot yellow eyes, it's said that the dragon can't see, instead, it senses its surroundings. It breathes blackish flames. Anyone who touches these flames feels all the pain they've experienced in their life all over again, all at once... as opposed to being burned alive. People who survive this become insane, some kill themselves, others are kept in places where that's impossible. This dragon is badass, this where the term "Good Guy" becomes a little loose. Dragon Profile 2 Name: Kiros Gender: M Type: Fire Appearance: A red dragon with yellow markings, getting this dragon initiates a personality change in Kaige, as this dragon is a valiant, good guy dragon. Simply breathes and manipulates fire. When provoked, it can send a whole city ablaze.

Reading this, I'm realizing something... I need to play Chrono Trigger again, I must have been ten the last time I've played it... As for bosses, I tend to hate most RPG bosses unless they make good use of a gameplay mechanic or force you to develop an unusal strategy. I'm going to have to with God from Shin Megami Tensei 2 (not released in America), I've always wanted to fight good ol' Buddy Christ. In case you're wondering, the game gives you a gradual choice to either go against Satan (might have been Lucifer, it was all in Japanese) or God.

Gaming Your opinion on the next year of gaming.
Goodbye, Face replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Noosphere
My opinion on the gaming war... PSP will probably dominate the DS, one reason being that the DS has no good games, it has some ok ones, but nothing that ever made me even consider buying a DS. The DS is just a gimmick to me, two screens and a stylus, and it's only games are over-hyped tech demos. Next-gen consoles: PS3 is the better system overall, the main thing that XBOX has over PS3 is XBOX Live, which is insanely popular and Sony has said that they'd create something similar, but they haven't given any details, while Microsoft has. The Nintendo Revolution is looking like crap compared to the other systems, they haven't said anything thing about it, other than it's a small black box that's backwards compatible with at least GC and N64. The system doesn't match up with the other powerhouses, meaning that it will be like the GC and sell for $100 less. I used to be a diehard Nintendo (and Sony fan), but I'm beginning to believe that the only thing that's keeping Nintendo alive right now is the fact that the system is cheap, and that Nintendo fans the the most hardcore type of fans. They're the ones that are obssessive over Pokemon and Zelda. They create characters that come up in all they're games that people really like, while PS and XBOX don't really have it that much. I am starting to believe that Nintendo will go the way of Sega after releasing the Revolution... but that's just my opinion. Final Fantasy XII looks amazing so far, they've taken my absolute favorite game, Vagrant Story, and used the same art and style in a Final Fantasy Tactics world. the only problem I have so far is that they delayed it what, 3 times so far? And I know I've been brutally honest about Nintendo, but I really can't wait to play Twilight Princess. It looks really cool. I just hope it plays better than Windwaker did (or maybe I have higher standards from games on other systems). I plan on sticking with (buying) a PSP and when I'm not playing that, I'll be here playing that new Unreal game, or going back to Half Life 2 / Counter-Strike. EDIT: fixed a run-on -
Aiyisha is right, at least from what I remember Paine saying something about them, but I don't remember what I did before that.

If they made an advice sub-forum, it would probably take half of the threads in the Lounge away form it. What would be cool is something like an advice column thread, where someone dedicated enough to answer questions (maybe even a team of people) could... be an adivce columnist.

Well, unlike Piro, I have somewhere between 300 and 400 cd's. If I lost them all, I would be incredibly pissed. It's a good thing I've backed most of them up on my computer (I have a big hard drive). Anyways, something like that happened to one of my friends, someone broke into her car and stole her radio and all her cd's. It's a sad world we live in, and it sucks even more without a soundtrack.
-
What part of NC did you live in? I live in High Point. Anyways, ChemAngel is right, IM's and blogging are great ways to keep in touch. Another good thing to do if you're a gamer is to play an online game (free, something like StarCraft or Unreal) and play it with them. That's how I keep in touch with two of my cousins that live in PA.

Just some things I've written for class this last school year, a lot of these are pretty old. Please rate/critique as you see fit. The Seven Nights That Changed Six Lives ?I?ve seen better days?? She began singing. None of us knew the words But we all sang in the same tune. We?ve lived the same life for a week And this is the seventh day. We stand on the side of the highway, The same one where all the stories come from. This place is our church, our burial ground. A station wagon filled with six skateboards, Two guitars and some drums. The life we used to have? The life we wished we had? The hours passed by at some gas station On some street corner. The Red Bull and Powerade The small bill we paid. Nothing worries a store clerk more Than seeing six teens in all black and gray Late at night on a weekday. We are the music?s children, The soldiers of the night. This highway is ours This is our home This is our life This is our grave. The Girl That Didn't Feel Pain I?ve seen her backed against the wall? Tears of sadness Tears of hatred A tear for every punishing word flung at her. She?s spent her whole life pretending? It was the truth that hurt her in the end. I saw her being beaten, Downright defeated at times. Hated for who she truly is. Punches and kicks out of surprise. She?s not crying anymore, She?s only smiling? Smiling for the sake of escape. It?s the little things that keep her happy. The little things that come in orange bottles. She?s not crying anymore. In Your Name, the Holy Weapon The shouts The curses The pain The blood The knife in the shape of a cross Stuck in my back. I bled blue in the absence of air. Did the times we've shared mean anything to you? I've heard you've given that up now. What has He done for you? Welcome to the dark side of our culture. A scratch against the skin. The final cut in the shape of a cross. You bled black in the absence of hope. It will all be better soon. "This, Like Any Other Story Worth Telling, is All About a Girl..." I remember when we were just friends When minutes melted to hours, to days As we held each other in our eyes. I remember when we were in love Making sacrifices, switching schools for each other Just to hold you hand everyday. I remember our struggles Where you found someone else And I sunk into despair. I remember you coming back And our first kiss, our favorite movie Your hair being blown by the wind in your car. I remember the phone call I remember the hospital I remember you dying And I see the sirens in my sleep And I see your car, totaled, next to another like it I see it every time I close my eyes Wishing I could see you when I open them "They Say That in Death, All of Life's Questions are Answered... Can You Tell Me?" I?ll seek revenge on you tonight A bullet for every betraying word. Every insult is a round fired at your heart. You called me your best friend? Him too, and him? You told her you loved her, And her, her too? The blood stains the carpet As I reload. A clip for every ounce Of alcohol in your blood when you swore you were sober. A bullet in your back for every knife in mine. I?ll cut myself a new lifeline tonight. Tonight? I?m starting over. Dear Michaela, Twenty-nine cuts Ten letters Four words One message Hundreds of reasons. Scars are forever, If someone really asked you, would you show them your arm? Addicted to the color red. Addicted to knives and glass. Your heart beats through your wrists. I see the pulse, The slight twitch as our love makes you flinch. Addicted to the feel of an open wound. Addicted to the feel of red caressing the letters. Twenty-nine cuts Ten letters Four words One message: I WANT TO DIE Thank you! Oh, and I put up a website, like an online portfolio. Not to advertise, but if you want to see the rest, they're at http://www.godkevinportfolio.bravehost.com .

Gaming Final Fantasy 7 Tech Demo for PS3
Goodbye, Face replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Noosphere
I downloaded the tech demo, doesn't look that much different from a PS2 cutscene, but if that's what they're saying is actual gameplay... it's preeety... -
I've recently learned that I can't trust that many people. Some of my really close and older friends have changed a lot over the years, into people who betray me. One of my closest friends actually lied to my ex-girlfriend about me in order for her to dump me and go out with him. So, I've been in a social slump recently and have been trying to find a new circle of friends. So I guess that works here.

I remember picking up Final Fantasy in Toys R' Us when I was about seven, it was twelve bones, the most expensive game on the rack, but it looked really cool. Looking back, it had the only story that could keep up with Zelda, besting even Dragon Warrior, which I hated because of having to select what I wanted to do from a menu instead of the game figuring out what I wanted to do. However, being only seven, I didn't have the brain cells to beat it, much less understand some parts of the story. Anyways, several years later, I found a familiar game title in the newest issue of Gamepro, Final Fantasy VII. I was ten I think, and I bought the game while I was with a friend. Bad idea, I got home and fell in love with the game immediately. However, my dad's boss happened to be a fan of the game. He told my dad that there were incredibly violent scenes and sexual innuendo (which there were, but nowhere close to how dad was saying it). So my parents returned the game and told me I could get it again when I was old enough for the teen rating. So I went back to the original Final Fantasy again and finally beat it. I understood why there was such a massive amount of these games. So I went up the ladder. I bought a Super Nintendo for Forty bucks and played Final Fantasy VI (or FF3). I ddin't quite get the game, and it was rather hard to me. But that didn't matter, I finally turned thirteen and bought Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and Tactics all at once. I had been saving up for a while. I beat VII, beat VIII, and got stuck in Tactics (and eventually beat it a year later). I have now played the entire main series. Here is where I rank them... STORY: FFVIII: Boring at points, especially at the beginning. THe end makes it worth it though, it had the best (and in some cases, worst) ending in the series. The whole thing was a good story. My only real problem with it was that all the characters felt like the same person, except for probably Zell. FFVI: I hated the game play, but I loved the story. It had probably the darkest story (if it were remade today it would be darker than VII). It had quite an evil bad guy who was not without his weaknesses. All of the characters felt and played a lot different. FFVII: The story stayed interesting the entire time. Things were blowing up, main characters die and betray you, deep psychological issues, and really cool characters. FFIV: You feel betrayed every minute playing this game. Right from the beginning, the king makes you burn down a town, and your best friend turns on you. It's very engaging, but not as much as the above games. GAMEPLAY: FFV: This game had the best customization without being annoying about it. In fact, all of the newer games seem to borrow things with this one. The only problem with this one is that it's incredibly boring compared to some of the other games. The story was incredibly dry to me. FFIX: I loved the "back to the past" idea. I liked the extra position and I liked learning skills quickly from weapons that changed how your character stood in battle. This game is simply amazing. I also like how you can beat it in twelve hours or 200 hours. FFIV: This game oozes cool, as you start off meeting Tella, who seems like he'll die, because he has pretty much every spell in the game from the start. He doesn't die (for as long as I've played it, I finally picked it up a few weeks ago). All the characters are incredibly different. The only problem I have with it is that it's basically a "protect Tella from harm" situation as he slowly kills the bosses with the opposite of the boss's element. FF7: The next best gameplay in my opinion. Total customization, everyone is a magic user, everyone is a fighter except for Aeris, but even through all that similarity between the characters they all play differently. The only problem for me was how annoying the customization process was, you had to juggle having a powerful character or powerful materia, as every materia you put on decreased stats and makes some bosses incredibly hard to beat. My favorite materia (except for the ones you get from the weapons) is Enemy Skill, it doesn't subtract stats, and the mana costs are low for what you get. That's it! Sorry for being long-winded about it.

I listen to a lot of different things, but they're basically all different styles of rock. Metal, Hardcore, Progressive, Emo, and uhh... Rock! I also listen to some calmer stuff like Gorillaz and electronica artists. The best examples of bands I like are The Sound of Animals Fighting, and He is Legend.

Abstinence only programs Yay or nay?
Goodbye, Face replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in General Discussion
Just interjecting my opinion in this issue. In the end, it really doesn't matter how you teach the kids, as they're still going to learn about whatever isn't taugh and they're still going to have teenage sex unless they believe otherwise. Like me, I knew that I would try my best (yeah, it's hard sometimes) to stay a virgin until marriage even before I had sex-ed. I know people who are four years younger than me who have sex regularly. All in all, I think that people should be taught both, as in, practice abstinence, but if it ends up happening, use protection. That's my mindset and I'll stick to it. You should give the kids all the info there is on it, then let them make their own descision. That's the only way I can make sense out of the debate. -
I fall in between of a goth and nerd. I'm basically one of those kids that are called the next school shooter. You probably don't want to hear about that anyway, as I'm not really like that. I'm atheist, so I'm automatically outcasted from everyone else, I live in the bible (which also means wiccan) belt. I detest the rednecks (sorry if you are one) for basically being as dumb as a rock, but still think they're better than everyone because they can bench their car. I also have a hatred against those city kids (get ready for a black stereotype) who basically only think about themselves, talk unreasonably loud, and just run you over in the hallways. Oh, and I guess I should add what type of goth I am, I fence, I write, I paint, and I go to local underground metal/hardcore shows every Friday or Saturday. No one calls me emo, even though I like most of the genre. There's a lot of us though, unlike most schools.

Think it's been getting better over the past two years I was gone. That's why I came back. I left because there was a point where there were so many N00B's (not newbs) around just causing a mess. I remember it being incredibly strict to the point where us "L337 HaXoRs" were restrained. I've been spying here (yes, under this name) and I think it's finally better. So I'm saying negative on the poll, perhaps there is a short-term n00bification that I don't know about, but it's a lot better looking at the long term.
