Fall Out Boy: I don't think anyone just casually likes these guys. The world is basically polarized between people who love FOB and people who want to rip out their intestines and strangle them with said intestines. Guess which group I'm in. I don't know who told their vocalist that he could sing, nor do I understand how such lame hooks and stupid riffs can make a band so popular. And no, buff dude trying to sell me a phone, they do not get me pumped, stop putting your headphones on my tv. Avenged Sevenfold: What self-respecting musician insults The Dillinger Escape Plan? Their guitarists might be pretty good, but the band is just a bunch of douchebags. You're cocky and you make crappy music, way to go, A7X. Trivium, Poison the Well, and other generic metalcore bands: I don't think I needed to say anything after Trivium, actually.

My parents are really cheap and don't like vacations that don't have to do with visiting our family. So uhh... despite living about an hour or two from the coast, I haven't been to a beach in over a decade. :( I only have one really strong memory, and that was at some beach in Florida. Basically I was way out in the water and I noticed a jellyfish right next to me. I tried to calmly move away, but of course every movement you make just forms a current of water towards you. Being like eight at the time, I was crying, being chased by this jellyfish, haha. I burn up ridiculously easy, like DB. During the summer I can usually only spend like half an hour out in the sun at a time without turning tomato red the next day. My parents can tan all they want but I've turned anything but red.

My dear friend Elisa took both of these. :) Me with my bestfriend, Brad, in tow. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j246/goodbyeface/IMG_1386.jpg?t=1183773848 This one's a landscape, so linkage. This was part of my graduation photoshoot for my family. Elisa and her friend Tres took me out to the city where I did casual things like eating in restaurants and walking old ladies across streets in my graduation getup for funny candid pictures. This is one where Elisa and Tres were trying to shoot me at the same time and Tres wound up in her photo. XD And congrats, Mitch. Good to see you're breaking your addiction. Also, Dagger, you are beautiful. I'm surprised no one's said anything. :X -

I was really worried that they would mess up the movie, but in all honesty, I only disliked two things, but they were a big deal. As noted, I absolutely hated the camera work and the editing. During fight scenes, the camera was so close and shaky that you couldn't tell anything that was going on. Also, none of the Decepticons' characters got fleshed out AT ALL. Megatron probably had ten minutes of screen time. The movie seems to constantly go for quick laughs even during really tense situations, I didn't understand why we needed to laugh at the robots' antics every five minutes. But besides all of this, I really enjoyed the movie. It did what it was supposed to and it ended... despite being like two and a half hours long. If you have a Blu-Ray or HD player, then this is the movie you're gonna need.

Yay for being kinda mentioned by two people so far. hahaha Sage Kaley / Bluemoon - She doesn't really go here anymore, but she was here long enough for me to meet her. We became amazing friends and it's hard to believe that we've known eachother for almost two years now. I don't know what I'd do without her to turn to now. Her life's always a mess and I want to be there to help her through it. We'd cuddle, eat Wendy's, and watch movies together if we were to meet, haha. DeadSeraphim - Alan reminds me a lot of my friend, Tres, with just how zany and violent he is. I'd almost be scared to meet him because he'd probably think I'm a loser, and tell me so constantly. He's a funny guy, though. Mitch / Copycatalyst - We're fellow beatniks and we're apparently starting a band. I guess it'd be cool to jam, play videogames, and uhh... have coffee. It's hard to get disconnected in a Pokemon game when you're playing right next to eachother. Semjaza - I owe so much to Tony. At the very least, my website, a good portion of my music taste, and probably whatever "coolness" I have. Our opinions are similar on a lot of things, but he's always more well-informed than me. I kinda look up to him like an older brother. Jakehammaren - Dude, we need to go pillage a grocery store or something. Keyblade Wielder - She is one of the friendliest people I have ever met. Do I need a reason? Charles - He was my Gears of War buddy until my 360 broke. We gotta have some in-person rounds too, you know? Tical / DigitalBoy - Because I want to punch him in the face. annnnd James, he's the man. I kind of want to explore a city with him or something, since that's what we always end up talking about. Oh, and Dragon Warrior kind of dropped off the face of the earth, but I've always wanted to hangout with him, too. :)

01. Cinemechanica - [EP1 #01] I Punch Over Trees This EP is really rare, as the band only made so many of them, and sometimes they bring them to shows and sometimes they don't. I love the dueling guitars in this song especially. Their main influence appears to be video game music and they really sound like such here, Capcom needs to hire these guys to do the next Megaman X game. 02. Deerhoof - [Holdy Paws #04] Satan Another math rock band, but with a Japanese female vocalist, well... they make weird music. This song, despite being called "Satan," is actually really pretty and it's one of my favorites by them (I have like six cd's of theirs). My only problem with this song is that there's parts where she's chanting something but she just sounds like she's meowing. >_> 03. Explosions in the Sky - [Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever #04] Have You Passed Through This Night? Bah, long album name. This song is one of my favorites from Explosions, the first half of the song is narrated by a guest speaker, with the music playing softly in the background. Eventually the focus drifts away and the music gets louder until the drums really kick in and the fun part of the song really comes in. I really love the drumming here, but it's really dissonant because there is so much going on. I wonder what this song is like, live. It's truly an experience in the recording. 04. Transistor Transistor - [Erase All Names and Likeness #10] Straight to Hell This is one of my favorite songs in general. I like the tone of the guitars, and their lyrics are smart, as always. They're just so far above every other punk band, and I'm happy that they kind of added a bit of a metallic flair to this album. Any song that contains the constant chanting of "We're all goin' straight to Hell!" has to be good, right? 05. The Demonstration - [Existence #06] Bent on Devastation Everyone has their guitar hero song, right? Whenever you get it in your head, you immediately have to air guitar and headbang in the middle of a like... job interview? That is what this song is to me. Jake needs to hear this. The band recently changed vocalists and recruited Seneca's, who sounds like Keith from Every Time I Die, not sure how I feel about that one. 06. Mass Movement of the Moth - [Outerspace #03] Seven This is probably the strangest love song ever. I think their keyboardist is playing one of the themes from Zelda II over the guitars. I actually got to see this band play acoustic, which was interesting. It fit their music rather well, despite them being a hardcore band. If you're not afraid of low quality recordings and some messy vocals, then check these guys out. 07. Jeromes Dream - [Completed 1997-2001 (disc 1) #01] This is for Baby Fat Nine beltloops... down to... six! Brings me fame, brings me faaaame! The end. :) 08. Holy Molar - [The Whole Tooth and Nothing But the Tooth Disc 1 #06] Just One Minute and Thirty-Six Seconds Closer to Smoke from the Crematorium This is a few members of The Locust playing with some other guys, supposedly live in a prison. "Alright, who threw this chair at me?! You're going to get this bass showed so far up your..." 09. Funeral Diner - [The Wicked EP #01] ...And The Beast Shall Be Made Legion Punk bands sure make AMAZING instrumental songs. When the keyboards and chimes kick in, you can't help but be moved. It sounds utterly creepy, and that's a good thing. 10. Drive Like Jehu - [Drive Like Jehu #06] If It Kills You Annnnd back to the math rock, haha. Some of DLJ's songs take so long to start up but this one is worth the wait. This song should have been on the radio in the 90's, it has that perfect grungy sound along with one of the best... breakdowns?... that I've ever heard. It's just a really fun song, and one of my favorites by the band. 11. Jucifer - [If Thine Enemy Hunger #01] She Tides The Deep This song contains one of the best and most brutal riffs in rock n' roll repeated over and over for eight minutes. This song is amazing. 12. KILLWHITNEYDEAD - [So Pretty So Plastic #11] Put Your Mouth Where the Money Is Yaaay, the only metalcore band I can stand! These guys sure are fun, too. They have Dr. Extremus Melodicus doing guest vocals on this song, and it's a perfect contrast to Matt's vicious growls. 13. Hot Cross - [Fair Trades and Farewells #03] Throw Collars To The Wind Dude, I can play Josh's part of this song, I'm so happy. :D 14. I Spoke - [autobiography #02] Friends not Fans I love the song name, and the music is very passionate, as most real emo music is. I wish I knew what they were saying, haha. 15. La Quiete - [La fine non è la fine #02] Metempsicosi del fine ultimo: Nevrastenica oscillazione fra poli estremi This band is amazing, and I'm extremely lucky to have seen them live here in America. They're extremely nice guys, and their music is so amazing, despite being a required taste to most people. One man's music is another man's... noise... I suppose.

I've been wondering about this. Isn't Resistance still Sony's only GOOD game on the PS3 so far? So what happens when they have to take it off the shelves? It already feels like a losing battle for them, but maybe all the stuff I read about them is skewed.
Aww, thank you! I LOVE your hair. o.o Is that natural or did you do stuff to it? And I know a lot of people like to "fix" their photos, but most of them would be alright without it. I feel like mine really need some touching up before they're publicly Okay.
Well, that color IS in my hair, but my hair is pretty much just brown. I messed around with the contrast and levels to get the background out of the picture and my hair turned that color and I liked it so I didn't try to fix it. And Alan, you are pretty! lolz -

Whaaaat? You're not bad at all, Ink. I vandalize all my pictures a little before putting them online, haha. I had a "professional" photoshoot recently, but she hasn't given me the pictures back yet, so I'll put some of those up when I get them
if this thread is still up
. -
Guys, v4 was black and white from what I remember. V3 was lavender-ish. I think for one of the themes after v4 (either v5 or 6) we used a theme that Syk3 made that had a lot of dark stuff in it. Anyway, the banner suddenly being gray instead of blue makes me feel like there's too much gray on the page, and the blue menu sticks out a little too much because of it. I'm kind of with Tony, it being a new theme rather than replacing the old one would have been better. But... OBE soon! Woooo!!!

He says it's all those things, but it's probably another Norma Jean clone. :) And Jake, I don't understand your beef with #12 Looks Like You. I know that scathing hardcore isn't your type of music, but those guys are extremely good compared to everything else in that genre. They have some jazzy bits and a whole lot of "urgency" to their music. Completing this are the Mars Volta lyrics sounding like they've turned to Satan or something, haha. They're just a really cool band.

Pink Razors - [Waiting to Wash Up #06] Sincerity Is So Pretentious [1:53] This is one hell of a fun punk band. One of my friends pretty much exclusively listens to these guys, so I figured I'd give them a shot and I like them. This is probably one of my favorites from them. Hot Snakes - [Audit in Progress #04] Kreative Kontrol [2:22] Hot Snakes are really amazing, but this song is my least favorite from them. It's overly repetitive. A Fine Boat, That Coffin! - [A Fine Boat, That Coffin! #06] Zerfall von Molekülen in einfachere Bestandteile [0:51] These guys are an amazing German hardcore band that plays kind of like Dillinger Escape Plan, I actually think they're better. The guitar in this song is really cool, especially. Combatwoundedveteran - [This Is Not An Erect, All-Red Neon Body #35] Disembowelment At Room Temperature [0:42] lol. Some Girls - [Heaven's Pregnant Teens #07] Totally Pregnant Teens [0:54] Scathing hardcore at its absolute best. :D Thirty3 - [Ether #08] Pirates Sleep With Cowboys, And Cowboys Eat Their Young [2:47] One of my favorite songs ever. This band is so amazing, it's a shame that they hardly got noticed at all, even with all the glowing reviews. The Locust - [The Locust / Melt-Banana #04] Priest With the Sexually-Transmitted Diseases Get Out of My Bed [0:34] lol. Godspeed You! Black Emperor - [Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven #00] She Dreamt She Was A Bulldozer, She Dreamt She Was Alone In An Empty Field [9:43] This is half of the first track of the second disc of this set. This is probably my favorite part of this record, but all their other stuff is better than this. Gospel - [The Moon Is a Dead World #02] Yr Electric Surge Is Sweet [4:14] One of the best bands to ever be formed. I love these guys, and it's a shame I never got to see them live. If you like progressive rock and hardcore, this is the band you need to check out. NOW. Also, the lyrics in my signature are from this song. Melt Banana - [Cell-Scape #08] A Hunter In The Rain To Cut The Neck Up In The Present Stage [2:33] lol. pg. 99 - [Document #5 #02] Comedy of Christ [2:15] I stole my Xbox Live name from this song. :D They have better, but this is a solid song. Kylesa - [No Ending / A 100° Heat Index #01] No Ending [3:18] I love Sludge Metal, and Kylesa's probably the best there is. Furthermore, this is their heaviest song, which I got to see performed live. It was ridiculous. Oasis - [What's the Story Morning Glory] Champagne Supernova [7:28] Noooo! Oasis makes me cry! Turn it off turnitoff turnitoff!!! Phoenix Bodies - [Raise The ******** Flag #06] I Guarantee You're A Pile Of **** [2:11] This band almost made me deaf. :) The Great Redneck Hope - [Behold the **** Thunder #03] It Sure Does Get Lonely Out Here in the Boondocks. Thank God for Cock. [0:40] I mean, what can I say.

All my away messages are quotes from my conversations with DeadSeraphim. True story! Wouldn't they have to tone down everything to make a DS version of FFVII? It took up three CD's, that's about 2GB. The reason why these remakes are so cool is because it's a 3-D upgrade of a 2-D game. To make a downgrade of a game just to make it portable probably wouldn't be a good idea. And having just bought FFVI for the GBA about half a year ago, I'm a little angry, heh. They need to warn us before they make announcements like this. Remakes in such quick sucession, ARRRGH! I probably wouldn't buy it. I'd be excited for 3-D version of V and VI, though.

I'm not a big classic rock fan at all, as in North Carolina it seems to be the only thing that the radio plays other than country and rap. I like rap, but I have to be in the mood for it, you know? There's two bands that really stand out though. I'm a big fan of (The?) Pixies and Rush. Both bands still make music now, but obviously, they were present decades ago, as well. I don't really know what to say about either of them, I feel like I'm unworthy, haha! Edits start here: As for classic metal, I'm a big fan of Atheist, too. I was going to say Cynic, but they did most of their good stuff in the 90's. I love technical metal and that's basically where it starts getting good. I keep adding to this post as I think about it. I also like Moss Icon a lot. They were basically the band that turned the "hardcore punk" emo to the emo heard today in bands like pg.99 and Circle Takes the Square. It was full of passion and the music reflected that, rather than being a set of boring, alternating chords. Moss Icon's songs would just set up a beat, then absolutely rip it apart, and I love that style of music.
-
Thanks, Jake. I was going to apologize for not really knowing anything about metal (seeing as the only style of metal I really like is Sludge), but you pretty much got the idea. All I was trying to demonstrate was that AFI was basically changing their sound (which I thought was really good) into something that at least sounds like whatever their target audience is currently into, which are bands like Green Day, MCR, and Cradle. Thanks again, Jake, for putting it in better words than I could have. I'm upset that you, DB, hold this point of view so strongly when you also say that the genre doesn't matter to you basically. Obviously, no amount of common sense will fix this (and I believe I tried in the past and you were a prick then, too). The point is, there is no art that can be defined as "bad," there's something out there for everyone. And if being an elitist means that I go out of my way to look for bands that I like that don't get MTV or radio play, deeply care about the music I like, and will continue to like it no matter what some little **** on the internet thinks, then yes, I'm an elitist.
It is true that I despise most emo, but it's not to say that I could never get into it. As i said, i like AFI, and they were among the forerunners of the emo invasion just a coupla years ago. i can even tolerate certain My Chem songs (I always liked 'the ghost of you'[/B'], no reason why.) I just generally like to hate on emo, namely because of the culture that encompasses it.
Haha, I was laughing until I read down to this. It's clear to me that you have absolutely no idea what emo is. AFI was a punk band until they ruined their sound by becoming something of an alternative rock band with black metal vocals thrown in to cash on the Cradle of Filth obsession that everyone got into several years too late. MCR was never even related to Emo, ever. Allow me to Jake-off for a minute. :) Emo/screamo/emocore/whatever is all synonymous. The purest form of the genre died along with Moss Icon in the early 90's. This pure form of emo was strongly related to hardcore punk (such as Minor Threat, Black Flag, and Bad Brains). What separated emo from hardcore was that it actually changed rhythms up and added elements like spoken word and sent messages that were about more than angry subjects. Then, a reviewer dug up the dead Emo term to describe bands such as Sunny Day Real Estate, The Get-Up Kids, Dashboard Confessional, etc. just because they had emotional lyrics, regardless of the actual style of the music. It basically just regressed from there. Meanwhile, there is still a underground Emo movement, which has nothing to do with what you think the genre is. The suicidal, make-up wearing, tight-pants kids are not "emo" in this sense of the term, and are following the same image that these bands who stole the genre portray. Go look up the band, Pageninetynine. Funeral Diner, Phoenix Bodies, and Majority Rule are also good examples of modern emo. If you don't like it, that's cool. But on the real, don't insult me by bringing up AFI and MCR in reference/defense of my music tastes. :)

In the last thread, I think I said I was forming a band? Well that ended up failing, as my partner in crime basically got potheaded and wouldn't show up to write songs. My friend Siarra and I messed around on guitars a few months ago and have been writing songs over the phone since then, haha. We kind of have the post-rock/emo style going on, similar to Funeral Diner. I have a big party coming up in a month and we'd like to get a full band together for that, since I'm already having two bands play in my house. XD I've been trying to record some stuff on guitar, but I have really awful anxiety about it, and everything has to be perfect before I put it online anywhere.
-
2007DigitalBoy, try to avoid bashing genres you don't understand, not like Nomura really knows what he's talking about when he mentions "emo" either. Also, completely dismissing groups made of poor college musicians expressing themselves in a unique way, while glorifying a band that has a movie based off of them? That's just wroooong.
-
La Quiete has a really cute video for their song, "Giugno". Basically, they put out a 3-song EP and asked around for people to make a video for each of the songs. This one was made using stop motion, which just adds to the cuteness. It might take a few viewings to get it, but once you figure it out, it's a really sad and beautiful theme. Here it is. There's a few others that I like, but so far, nothing's struck a chord quite like this one.

Linkin Park's music is the sound that makes me punch infants, so I won't even bother expressing that opinion. But, honestly, since when was U2 bad?
