How do you feel when it comes to the oppsite or same sex
Pumpkin replied to a topic in General Discussion
It's funny this topic came up because actually I have to admit, I do hit guys. Before you start to judge me, it's not like I do it on purpose. It's more like a playful punch, like renayiiq had stated mostly with guy friends when they say a cruel joke about me or something perverted. It's kind of a bad habit I guess, but they don't mind. Since I'm use to behaving like my guy friends, I noticed that I tend to do that to my crushes as well. There was this one guy I had a crush on, and he said some compliment about how pretty I was and that guys must like me a lot and I punched him on the arm. He said it didn't hurt, but I can tell from his face it did. I felt awful after but he got over it fast. I really don't know my own strength sometimes. However, most the time it's just a playful tap. If a girl hits you, that sometimes yes it can be in a flirty manner. I guess you could call it "fiesty flirting" since that's what I do to my boyfriend sometimes. I don't recommend any boy liking me unless they can handle tough love, :blackeye:. -
Honestly, how would any of you feel if someone printed horrible lies about you or your loved ones?
While I sympathize with Chabichou's anger, I also have to disagree with Retribution. I don't disagree with that it's sick, yes thats a horrible thing to do and the newspaper should give an appropriate apology for offending these people. However, boycotting and pretty much banning Denmark seems a bit harsh to me, since they however had no say in the matter. It's like blaming a parent for teaching a kid to open up jars, since he stole a cookie from the teachers. Denmark allows the newspaper, but I'm sure they had no say in the cartoon. I don't think they will give a public apology because this matter is not with them, but the newspaper. If anything, the muslims should boycott the newspaper. Blaming a government just seems a bit extreme to me, and that comes from a Catholic. Even if a newspaper were to post something bad about Jesus, the fault would rest with the people who had done it, not the government. BTW: Be happy with the country you live in. Just some advice. I never liked Gaia Online so I can't relate. I do think people do however, expect more of you as a member on OB to be active & post quality not quantity. Which is how it SHOULD be. I've been to many forums where people just post just to get their post count up and create some of the dumbest threads ever. Need an example of an out of control forum? Go to Minitokyo or AnimeOnline and you'll see what I mean. One of the things I like best about OB, is that we're so strict with the rules and being specific about grammar is not bad if it doesn't get out of hand (being a grammar natzi is a bit too much). I do think however, Some (not all) older members view themselves over newer members sometimes but that is pretty common. There are always going to be people with big egos on different forums, and I've run into these types plenty of times. Overall, I pretty much agree with what Solo said. Rules change and the forum develops for the better (I'd hope so).

I have to admit, I never thought I would ever be looking at an OB-fiction thread. Especially one based on the killing of n00bs, but it actually kept me interested. Maybe its your writing style or the more seriousnesses coveted by the humour, I have on idea. Either way, I love it! Can't wait to find out who the killer is now. "Dundundun"

I love the color blue so thats a plus with me, I can tell you like Yukikaze which must be an anime or video game I'm assuming. I love the image, it's bright, and stands out and the size is just right. However, it doesn't hold any details from what I can see, which is the only big drawback from it. It needs more personalization as well. I'd give it a 4/10.
Yeah, I know. It's hard to do ones like that, because I know noone who will pose, and noone who's patient enough to take pictures of me. I'm kinda stuck doing it with a mirror until I find an 'assitant.' Heh.
I definately know how that feels! It's very hard to find someone that will actually be patient enough to take pictures of you. I feel your pain. XD I love your pictures! Especially the "purple" one even with the camera, I've been on your myspace and you have great talent. The mirror heart is a myspace cliche' is all I can say, and I would expect something more unique but it's still cute! I also love the "Don't Judge me" part. The lines give it a symplistic look, it might look good in a nice light blue or orange even. Keep up the good work. I really love the effects so far.

One day, when I was actually updating my deviantart (which is collecting loads of dust right now by the way) I ended up looking through some other's artworks. The first thing that comes to mind when you say the world art is drawing, painting, sculpting, etc. But what I've come to realize, is that there are many different arts such as graphic design, photography, && loads more then I would ever think of. Performance arts such as acting, dancing, singing etc. My question is, What is your talent(s)? Has anyone ever told you that your artistic ability wasn't an art? How did that effect you && what arts are you still doing today? As for me well..Before I would describe myself as "Having no artistic ability" but then again, we're talking about art not the stereotype version.

Writing: Most likely one of the things that I'm most passionate about. Maybe its because when I was 7, I use to write short stories all the time somehow I'll never know but I've always had a thing for writing. I love writing stories especially fantasy fiction stories are one of my top favs. I'm told I'm good at poetry but I'm not really fond of it to be honest.
Dance: I've taken Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Aerobics && HipHop. Dancing has been something I've been doing since I was in kindergarden so it's developed into a part of my life. It's the thing that helps me relieve stress or express myself. I'd love to learn how to breakdance and plan on learning soon. Most people would think that dancing is not an art, but a "sport" however, it is a way to express oneself.
Make Up Design: I'm sure I'm not the first girl to admit that she likes make up. But not just for superficial reasons, I've collected lots of high designer make up and love to experiment by mixing colors && pigments. I'd love to be a professional make up designer, unfortunately I know I'll never be that good as some people (yet again my passions are mostly dancing and writing) but it's a hobby I like to do. As most people would say, make up is not an "Art" but I believe it can be used in an artistic way.
Photography: I love taking pictures but this is beside the point. I've just got into photography lately, and I actually would love to one day make high-quality abstract ones. There is something about abstract photography that interests me. I guess it's the graphic design on some photos, but all the same. I've been learning so I'm fairly new at it, but it's a work in progress.
To anwser the other questions, I've been told Dance && Make Up design are not arts but I don't care what anyone thinks so that kind of renders the insult pointless. I'm still practicing make up, still writing, still dancing, and still doing photography. I think that pretty much sums it up.
It?s not being fat that?s going to kill people, it?s the fact that many obese people rarely get the minimum amount of cardiovascular exercise.
Wrong anwser. Actually you forgot to include that some people have a slow metabolism and can't digest food as others. That way it is HARDER for them to lose weight. I know many people in my family who eat healthy, exercise, and eat smaller portions and are still overweight. Health issues can also cause overweightness. The one thing I can't stand about people when they view people who are obese, is that all they need to do is work out and stop being lazy. Not everything is that simple. As for the subject of this topic, I would say DDR would bring fun into the schools. But isn't that a lot of money that could be going towards something important? I'm not trying to say it's particullarly a bad idea, but I think that there are more important issues. Plus, what happens when they play DDR at school and they want to play it at home? I think a ball and a bat, can get you the kind of exercise a kid needs without being cooped up in the gym and it requires way less money. It's more of the money issue that I'd be worried about, but as far as entertainment goes it would definately bring some interest into PE.

Aww I love them both and I totally get what your saying Katana about the chibi-ness. Pretty much anything Chibi gets people going "Awww" lol. I'll have to alternate between the two, thank you to both of you guys, you rock.

I need a pretty decent size banner for one of my RPG's I want to create called "Filles de Cerise". If I could have that on the banner with "when good girls go bad" underneath it, that would be exactly what I'm looking for. I would love a girly picture or a banner with lipstick prints on it. Here are some images I would like >>> Fav pic, Pic 2, Pic 3, Pic 4. If you could do this that would be great :)

Hello everyone. Yup I'm in need of a new banner/avatar set, even though I loved my old one I'm looking for something more humorous for once. I haven't found any picture to really describe what I'm going for. I just want something manga/anime-ish that displays my name on my avatar and banner, but on the banner a saying. For once, I'll let the creators decide on that, creativity is welcomed. I'd love something unique. If you could do that I'd love yah forever. Thank you. >>> Click, Click I love these pictures. ^^; if you could put something maybe like "warning : extreme cuteness may have side affects such as obsessive hugging, etc." would be cute. This is a fine dillema I've gotten myself into.

Alright stop. Collaborate and Listen. Sorry. I just had to say it, stupid song is stuck in my head. This is funny because I went through the same situation as you just recently. When I was 17 I was just getting ready to enter college, get my GPA up, focus on moving our && getting a job. It was all set up. I had just broken up recently with my ex of almost five years (off and on) and had no interest in having a relationship nor have time for any intimate friendships. When, something out of the blue happened. I met a guy. We became close friends. And then the impossible happened, I had a new boyfriend before I knew it. To make matters worse, he was a year younger then I was and still in highschool so that made seeing eachother even worse. (My mother at first wasn't too happy with the idea either) My ex got pissed, sure, how dare I move on right? If that guy is going to hate on you for moving on, well I think its safe to say that it's not worth worrying about because after all he's your ex and he's just mad because he doesn't like seeing you move on. Anyways, my point is even if you have a lot of things going on, and you plan on doing great things, that doesn't mean giving your life away. Especially in highschool, this is the time where you can have a social life (if you think college is easier believe me its not lol) and have a boyfriend. Even if things DON'T work out with this guy, relationships are not how long you will last with that person but the memories you share with that person. I took a chance with my boyfriend now by agreeing to go out with him. It ended up being one of the greatest decisions of my life. He is closer to me then my ex who I've dated off and on for 5 years, that says a lot. He'll be working this spring and so will I. I have night classes and it will be hard for us to get together. Even if we do break up, I know I'll always have his friendship and support with me that will never go away. It's called taking a risk, something I hardly do by my fault. My point is do you really want to give up this relationship simply because your too preoccupied? Or do you really not like this guy? Who's to say it won't last? My point is I suppose, is it sounds to me like you need to give him a longer chance. Work and school is important don't get me wrong (I know how you are feeling because I've felt exactly the same way, just thought I'd tell you so you don't think I'm ragging on you), but meeting someone that will help you blow off steam and make you smile even when you feel like bawling? Priceless. -
I don't like to regret anything. Infact, I could regret the fact that I was so shy in middleschool and I didn't stand up to the people who were mean to me. But then again, I wouldn't have gained the courage that I did in Highschool and seek out change. I'm a completely different person and have a lot of self-esteem because of the people that use to be mean to me when I was younger. It's kind of ironic, but now every chance I get I stand up for myself and others. It's helped me relate to others and made me the caring person I am today. Even now, my friends will tell you I always care about people and never judge anyone. No one ever could label me in highschool because I made friends with all different types of people. If I would have never been b*tched at, I would have never known what it felt like to be left out and to be considered "different". I believe it's made me a better person, even if it was a bad experience in my past, I grew from it. So no, I don't regret anything that I do. Some things will suck every once in awhile, but I'd like to think it happened for a reason. Even though some things just don't have one.

Honestly, I haven't really run into any really bad writing promts like "What is your favorite ___?". Infact, I have a bit of a problem like Retribution where they give me something that I have no knowledge about or that requires a bit more research and I'm expected to do it in class and wing it. Really, it sucks. The last essay I'd had to ******** my way through which I really hate doing that. But if your in HS, Raiyuu is right when he says going to college will change that. Honestly, I'd like something a bit easier and stupid for once. But then again, I am an english major to be exact and technically its expected to be a bit harder on me ;/ especially since I have to take so many literature classes to get into Sac State. How fun. BTW, atleast your teachers tell you what your going to do on your exam. My astronomy teacher keeps telling us that if we're under the age of 20 we're not going to pass. He pretty much just handed us the book and told us to figure it out. Yes, it pretty much sucks.

I know I've done this thread before, but I decided to bring it back since it's been quite a while since it was posted and I see a lot of new members on OB now. If not, feel free to close it for me. Everyone that's been here's obviously has learned the use of the Internet. The internet is a system in which people around the world are allowed to communicate. The point I'm trying to get at is, how did you discover the Internet? Did a friend tell you, or maybe you introduced it to them? How old were you? and what were some of the first things you did? Or maybe you've just started using it? What do you remember about how computers use to be or better yet how the internet was like? Any sites that you remember going too? I know my first contact with the internet was when I was 6 or 7 and I use to go into Nickalodean chat rooms and talk about cartoons. I had parental advisory so no I didn't get into anything bad. I didn't use the internet again until I reached around 12 or 13 in which I got hooked on creating my sailor moon mailing list which I sent through AOL (that was the best in the 90's) and I remember being in mailing list rings. There was some kind of war between zines and mailing lists that now I find funny, especially since zines ended up taking over most of the mailing lists from what I remember. Everyone had a diary mailing list, not a blog as you see nowadays. (livejournal, myspace, blogspot, xanga, etc.) I also read fanfiction on fanfiction.net. I use to RPG in AOL chatrooms which were pretty lame to be honest. I didn't come back to the internet until I was 16 in which I started joining forums instead since I had DSL and mainly used it for that and email. And now here I am on OB, which happened by accident actually since I wasn't expecting to find a forum that I liked. Anyways....my question is what do you remember of your use of the internet? What were your hobbies and what do you mainly use it for now? I know for one I mainly use it for mmorpgs, school, email and OB. Feel free to share the details.

Honestly, I only have one tradition in my mind that sticks in my head. My best friend that I've known since the 7th grade have always done one thing once a year since we were 12/13 years old (she's 20 now and I'm 18). There is a county fair that comes around where I live that everyone goes to that stays for acouple of weeks. Every summer we go atleast once and take pictures at the photo booths we have there and we end up splitting it in half and each of us gets to keep the two photos that we like. It's crazy cause I just found a lot of my old photo's with her in the drawer the other day. Sometimes we'll let in other people on our tradition but we mostly just go ourselves. I can't wait until this year so I can compare it from when I was 12. Let's just say, I've changed so much since then.
My favorite color changes but I have many different ones for different things like Chabichou stated. My signature color for some reason is purple and it started when I use to write in this purple pen in HS and I would forget to write my name on my paper, most of my teacher's could tell it was me because I wore a lot of purple back in those days. If you actually looked at my room I have a lot of purple items that would really make anyone go crazy trying to count them lol. So as far as items go, purple is my favorite. Purple means royalty and I've been called the nickname "princess" lately so that must mean something...hmmm... My favorite color to wear changes but lately it's been brown. I've really got into the color brown lately. I'm told it looks really good on me and also I've changed my hair from blonde to dark brown so that might also be why I've taken such a fondness for it. Brown is comfort and stability and also fits exactly fits with my personality. Purple and Brown symbolize two different parts of me, but I would never put them together.

I'm not going to talk about my own "faith" because honestly that most likely could offend some of the people here that are highly religious. People take parts of other religions because of their views, does being in a religion mean that you have to follow every rule? Actually I think you don't. As you know, some christians believe the bible to say that gays are wrong when in fact, many christians I know are fine with gay rights. You don't have to believe in every point in the bible to say that you are a "true" christian, it's not right to go against what you feel in your heart. If god "loves everyone" then he will love you for what you feel is right (as long as its not murdering innocent people, then we might have a problem there). I've never heard of someone who believes in Heaven but not hell but I have to say that having your own belief is not foolish or stupid. It's a part of your idendentity and morals. Keep this in mind, not everyone reads the bible the same. You may read the bible and take it completely different from the person next to you. Everyone has their own views on it and everyone has their own morals based on it. All religions have something in common and that is god whether he has a different name or not. If you can get past the specifics of the bible and not take it TOO seriously word for word, then maybe you will see my point. But then again, who am I too say? I've never been a very religious person myself. But I just had to state that setting your own set of beliefs from religion(s) doesn't sound like a dumb idea to me.

On average, what do people fear more then death?
So in short, when we get phone calls with clicking on the end, they're usually followed no more than a week later by "have you considered the benefits of double-glazed burglar alarms?"
So that's what that's all about. I keep getting strange phone calls once a week and no one anwsers but the "click" noise and I figured that was what it was for. I don't like believing in ghosts or any "paranormal" things for that matter. Infact, I'd rather pretend they don't exist if I hadn't seen what an "orb" is. I was walking down my hallway to the kitchen from my house when I squinted and saw a bright light ahead. I figured it was my lamp and kept walking closer when I noticed it was moving and stopped, it slowly floated towards me and then went faster and went through me. It felt like time stopped or as if I were moving in slow motion for only about 1 second but it felt like minutes. I turned around but I could not see anything behind me. That was when I was 12 and since then I have never spoken much about it, because even though I know what I saw, I refuse to believe in it. There was also a moment where my chair was shaking profusedly when I was on the computer, and I thought it was an earthquake and got up. I noticed that nothing else had moved and asked my parents if they felt it but they said nothing happened. It was just very wierd. Do I believe in ghosts? Maybe. But I'd rather leave them be. It's all too wierd for me. The dead should be left alone.

Heh..indeed we are...but anyhow... He was more like my brother to me (since I've known him since I was 12) then my brother in law so it mean't a lot to me to have something to remember him by. I guess my christmas didn't turn out so bad as I thought. By the way Boo Santa Claus is scary enough without the six legs and lance. O.o;
