I could probably spend the better part of fifteen minutes trying to write down exactly what I think of The Simpson's progression as a syndicated comedy over that last decade and a half. Now I could do that, or I could just quote what Tony has said and save myself that fifteen minutes as I agree with pretty much everything he has said. The Simpson's lost it's spark many years ago and special guest celebrities and crappy storylines will not restore it to it's former glory.
Yeah this pretty much seems to sum it up. I remember the old episodes were hilarious, especially the first few seasons. They are always the best of course. I think most people have moved on to Family Guy, I know I did. Its cliche but I learned to love it. The newest project Futurama, isn't too bad. Wish they would come out with new episodes though. Simpsons just never seems to die, and sometimes I wish they would just let it die and let me look back on the good ol' episodes. It seems as if every new one, is less funny then the next. It really has gone downhill....a lot. Let it go. By the way I remember one old episode where Bart Simpson cheated on a test and went to a school for child geniuses. I think that was my favorite. For sure. Homer will always be the Home I know from the first season. Drinking Beer and Eating donuts on the couch.
another type would be the jerk type of guy. because theres this real jerk-off at school who won't stop hurtting me (phisically, but not really hard) and is mean to me, but i'm like, in love with him! my friends and me call him blub blub because his name is Travis Fish. that's right, Fish....
Jerk type eh? If you mean stereotypes that I like, none. I don't like people who fall into certain categories or play themselves out to be. I don't think its too smart to like someone who is mean to you either, just saying. Its your decision, but it sounds to me as if he's messing with you. Just be careful is all ok? Anyways back to topic, I'll that I'd really look for in a guy is someone who can keep on to their promises, loyalty, attractive but doesn't have to be the best looking (i like tan skin a lot), great sense of humour, mature, older than me, tall, doesn't care what others think, and is willing to play the role of my best friend also. Yeah, I guess you could say I'm a bit picky, but hey what can I say? They get to have a gorgeous girl like me..muhaha...Kidding. Oh and by the way, yes I think this topic has been said plenty of times before too. But don't fret too much about it.
But let me add this, if you choose not to do something just so you're not following the "conformists," isn't it just as bad as doing someing just to follow them?
I have to agree with Solar Princess's last sentence. And also with Corey's opinion too. If you want to go to Prom, don't. If you do, then go already. It shouldn't be a big deal..but you shouldn't be forced into something that you don't want to do.
I seem to have been misunderstood when I said conforminst. I was reffering to the people who make rash generalizations about me, simply because I'm not attending the prom. I mean the people who assume that anyone who doesn't go to prom is some kind of loser, or else a depressed little punk. By conformist, I mean the people who pressure and pressure and pressure until you're ready to crack, just because you're not going to a dance. Does that clear it up at all?
Now this seems silly, but I can totally relate to you. You see, I'm a senior in Highschool right now. Prom is coming up (real soon) for me. Its my year 05' and I'm graduating. Except for one problem, I don't go to a regular school. I switched when I was half way through my junior year to catch up because I got bad grades, and have been in a Independent Study Program (haha, funny I know. And YES there are people there. Its like a smaller school, with no dances.) I never liked school to begin with, I hate highschool, and its not like I'm a depressed teen with no friends, I had lots of friends. (Infact I talked too much which is why I got in trouble most the time and starting getting bad grades. oops?) I'm turning 18 this summer, the most constant question I get asked is, Are you going to prom? The anwser is, no. I get pressured almost everyday by my best friend, mom, and everyone that I know saying it'll be the best thing ever and that you should just go to prom. I just dont want too. I haven't been to that school in awhile, I don't like wearing dresses and being formal and I have a boyfriend so that wouldn't be a problem with a date. It just goes to show you some people are not just cut out for prom, they just simply don't want too. I'd rather go to a night club when I'm 18 with my sisters, then go to a formal dance where you do the same thing only with people you have had to see forever. I won't miss highschool, and I'm already amped up for college. (its not a university, but a junior college but still) and I can't wait to be out of my own. People look at me like I'm crazy when I say I'm not going to MY prom, my sister never did it either. The lesson here is, no matter how much people push you, you got to make your own decisions. Don't let them make you feel bad for your choice. You should go only if you want too, besides even if I went, most of my friends would have graduated already. (I made friends with all my upperclassmen, my classmates were too immature) There really is no point in me going to prom you see, most of my friends would have moved on, its not a big deal. But to all those going to prom, I hope you have fun and don't worry about being a comformist. Now THAT would be silly.

Considering most of you are like 13, 14, and the 15 range, you still have TONS of time to grow. Sadly for me I feel I stopped growing at 14. I'm 5'4" and I'm 18! How sad is that? I've always wanted to be tall like my sisters..there both 5'10" where did the good genes go? I got all the bad ones. I think I need a hug now. :animecry:

Hello there. I'm looking for someone to make me a new banner and avatar (matching) using this image (not the words underneath the picture included) : http://www.anime.org.au/main/images/wallpapers/ayaceres_wallpaper.jpg The size would be about the same size as the banner I'm using. And the avatar, well you know the drill. Also, with the words "Pumpkin" and underneath it saying "No one is told any story but their own" Thank you. P.S. I'll give you a cookie? Please? :animeswea

I'm about to ask the woman i love to marry me
Pumpkin replied to Lightwing's topic in General Discussion
You really bursted young mans dreams and hurt his feelings I mean comeon his relationship wouldn't have worked out I mean he shouldn't know that but you didn't have to be so cruel. Boy u have to realize we are teenagers meaning love doesn't last that long most relationships are lucky to last 6 months for the most committed or those who say they are boys say they are in love with girls all the times sometimes they mean it, but usally cause they are innocent and naive and other times it just to get the girl to do what they want to do. Honestly think about this and see if you really could see yourself not 3 years from now but one year from now still with her I mean boys hearts are a fickle thing you say you love one girl then we are trying to get the next you shouldn't try to settle down I mean most guys your age or trying have a little fun not fall in love and have a happy ending.
This is kinda true. I mean, everyone keeps on saying how its never going to happen, which has a big chance of being true. If he really is 14, this is probably his first girlfriend. Think about your first. Everyone wants to "marry" their first, and are naive in their first relationship. They always think their going to be together forever and get married and have kids etc. Sometimes it miraciously does happen (and sadly yeah I've seen it happen before, pretty astonishing no?) but don't break someone down because of that. I remember I was naive at 14, and although I'm not "old enough to be a mother and start talking like one" yet I can rightly say I remember the stage and atleast some people go through this atleast once in their lifetime. I even had a friend who was 16 and got proposed too. Yeah sounds ridiculous. And yes even older people have done it in the past. *GASP* So no blaming today's generation. Give the kid a break, He's young. And one word of advice to him, if you want to stick with this person just remember you'll miss out on a whole lot of fun and different people, take it from someone who knows. -
I'm actually not too big fan of Clamp, they seem to make too many cliche manga's out there. And mostly Shoujo. Chobits was okay. But Magic Knight Rayearth is by far the best ever that clamp has made. Atleast in my opinion.

What Does your sig, avi and username say about you.
Pumpkin replied to shinji172's topic in General Discussion
My turn ^^ I'll do... Lady Dust Username - Lady suggest that you are very considerate and poised for your age. Your seen as mature and someone you can depend on. Your also unique and you love it. You also have a dust fetish. Custom Title - You never like to stay the same and are constantly changing and improving your imagine. You like to feel like a chameleon. Avatar and Signature - You like hot weather and the desert. It also seems like a metaphor for again your constant changes, but no matter what your personality and friends stays the same. It suggests that no matter what, you'll always be around and the same person. You also like Rodeos. Yee-haw! (okay so I'm not really sure about that one) P.S. By the way Momo I like Peach girl too :) -
Which of the two games do you think is better, and why?[/I']
Here is how I see it : FFX Vs. FFX-2 Advantages FFX 1. Stronger Plot FFX has more of a storyline and you are first introduced to the characters and get to know their backgrounds. There is conflict and a struggle that each character has to go throw. Example : Rikku and her being accepted as an Al Bhed and having to live life as an outcast. 2. Detailed Characters As I said up above you get to find out about more characters, not to mention the number of characters you get to play inside the game. 3. Setting is Unique Everytime you enter into a new area, (example : The calm lands) there is always something or an action you have to do. There is also beating the temples, its like a never-ending mission. FFX-2 1. Fighting System The fighting system in FFX-2 is fantastic! you can move freely, and fight as fast as you want, making the battle alot easier and more exciting then in FFX. Definately a plus. 2.Open Setting The setting of FFX-2 is basically this, you can go everywhere you want to! Its fun going back to all the places you fought so hard to get to in the first one, now you can kick back, have fun leveling up wherever you want, and do what you please. It really gives you a freedom. 3. Dress Spheres Now I know many people don't even like dress sphere, I say why not? I know I enjoyed the Dress Spheres a whole lot better then the Sphere Grid in FFX. It's a personal opinion on this matter but I think it makes the game more fun and a whole lot easier for those who get confused easily. To be Continued....(disadvantages)

Muhaha that was me...no really...no one's getting in my home. If they did all they would have to steal in my room is videogames and books. Who wants that? Except someone might want my del computer...then I'd have a serious problem. Despite it doesn't work half the time anyway. By the way, someone stole a stone donkey off our lawn acouple days ago. Guess they couldn't afford a mother's day gift this year. Funny how they never take the gnomes. Poor gnomes. They get no love.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Teaser Trailer Now Online!
Pumpkin replied to EVA Unit 100's topic in Noosphere
Thanks for the link to the trailer! You Rock! This book was my very favorite out of the whole series, even better then the 5th one. (Which the new one was seriously lacking) and is a whole deal scarier then any of the other further books. I do hope they add in the horror that is described in the book and even if the warning label does have to get raised to PG-13 or whatever, it would be well worth it in my book. This is something that I've been hoping to see ever since the first one came out, which I agree with BoxyBrown wasn't really the best and live up to its potential. Hopefully this time though things will be different. -
Ahh this is a hard one because there are so many bad movies hollywood has made over the years...hmmmm...acouple come to mind... 1. Pootie Tang - Dumbest movie ever. Slightly funny, but mostly just dumb. A cornstalk that turns into his dad, his obsession with his belt, Chris Rock? Where does it end? 2. Spice World - Blah. The name says it all. No comment. 3. Guess Who - Boring story with Ashton Kutcher who falls in love with a black girl. The whole story involves around the dad obsessing that he's white, infact the whole family is. This could be funny right? wrong. I found it absolutely boring, they took a cliche idea that could work and just made it come out boring. I almost fell asleep in the movie theater. This doesn't stand close to anything like "Meet the Parents" which was basically what they were competiting towards. And those are my three worse movies.

What thought comes into your mind most often?
Pumpkin replied to Filipinorocker1's topic in General Discussion
Honestly, I'd have to say that the thought that most often nags at me is something along the lines of: My lifetime spills away with every minute--what the hell am I going to do with it? It gets old after a while to never have an answer for that one.
Basically what Elfpirate just said. That and when my belly is stuffed but theres that last piece of pizza or cheesecake and your left wondering "Can I eat that? Can I really stuff that down without getting sick?" I always did wonder how that one cheesecake got away :animesigh -
Older siblings, Younger siblings; What's with them?
Pumpkin replied to Shadow Blade's topic in General Discussion
My family must be pretty strange, for my older sister (she is the middle one) gets all the attention and gets no trouble from anyone. I have two older sisters and I'm the youngest. That's alot to take especially since there is such a wide age-gap between us that its astounding (not to mention the oldest is my half-sister which makes her even older). I get along ironically with my half-sister more so then my real sister, all we ever do is fight. We're opposites. She's the aggressive redhead and I'm the ditzy blonde. Okay so I'm not really all that ditzy. And I'm not all the way blonde. But anyways, we're all so different no one would guess we're sisters at all. Our personalities don't match, and because I'm the youngest I get picked on all the time. It's not fair when you don't have someone to pick on yourself, if only I had a little brother for instance...oh well. -
I can't go as far as saying that manga is a huge part of my life, but it is something that I enjoy from time to time. I really only read manga when I throughouly enjoy the Anime (especially when it comes to favorites) or if it continues off of the Anime in which of course, I'll want to find out more. I love to read but buying mangas is expensive and I dislike reading it online for some reason. The only manga I really bought that wasn't an anime in the first place was Peach Girl but I'm dying to read Mars. I'm a sucker for romance manga for some reason, don't know why.

I remember Calvin and Hobbes, although I don't really read much of it anymore. I use to be an avid fan of it since my best friend in the 5th grade gave it to me for my birthday, I got hooked. I always loved Hobbes the most and the book "Wierdos from another planet" was our favorite. I loved how Hobbes got him into all sorts of trouble and how they use to pick on the neighborhood girl and not let them into her fort because she was a girl. Reminds me of my childhood haha (of course I use to beat them up afterwards *cough* but anyways) It's too bad he didn't make a cartoon series, I think I would have liked that as a child. I know he didn't want to be commercial about it, but really, if you have a chance at making something big, why not? If the quality remains good, that doesn't mean your a sell-out. As for merchandising, I don't even think I would've bought it when I was a kid, I just loved to read too much to pay attention to that sort of thing. A TV show though, that's an idea. Oh well.
But... Pong was the first game ever! I went to this international Videogame Exposition visiting Finland, and there were samples from games throughout the history of videogaming, and it became very clear that Pong (the simple game with a ball moving back and forth between two paddles) was the first videogame ever created. To my recollection it was developed by some scientists working with computers to entertain their sad and miserable lives... okay, maybe it wasn't exactly [/I'] like that, but something along those lines.
Pong as far as I know definately was the first game ever created, without that little ball and those two paddles how would Mr. & Mrs. Pac Man ever be created? Maybe there is a use for boredom after all, life would seem strange without video games. Oh well. And yes Donkey Kong was on Atari. My sister had it.

If I were to go to Japan, I would most likely visit the places that people would most likely never dream of going to. Like Kyoto and other cities that are not as popular as Tokyo, there I would get to visit more historical facts and shrines that reflect Japan's past and culture customs. I think learning about the country's history seems interesting (ok not I sound as boring as a history teacher) that doesn't mean I wouldn't go to Tokyo, of course not for manga. (Hey its in Japanese, I can't read that stuff!) I would go for the fashion of course! You know Tokyo is the fashion capital of the world? Well suprisingly it is. So much for Paris. Looking at designer clothing would be awesome. Hey I can dream can't I?
Hrmm, I get turned off by reed-thin men. Never mind that he's nice; I want someone I can hug comfortably (I've a thing against feeling somebody else's bones). Yeah, and I like them half a head taller than me. That way I can wear heels when we go out. :animesmil
Sadly reminds me of my bf hes so short and thin, but oh well. Its his personality I was attracted to in the first place. Anyways the blood types are indeed just fads, just like how we Americans like to play with our Horoscopes. My mom and dad are an Aries and Cancer and they are suppose to despise one another and are the worse signs to be together. A fire and water sign. Just goes to show you that following superstitous traditions when it comes to forming relationships just might not be the smartest choice you could make.
I personally love "Candy Shop". I mean, you all are saying the reason you hate it (just skimmed through, not going into detail) is because all he talks about is sex. I think that was probably the point of the song, and the beat. It makes you feel dirty, makes you want to do ever single thing it mentions. And the words are catchy. "Soon as I come through the door she get to pullin on my zipper It's like it's a race who can get undressed quicker" "As Long as she ain't stoppin, homie I aint stoppin Drippin wet with sweat man its on and popping" Are you telling me you wouldn't go to a club, get drunk, and still not dance to this? That is what the song is for. Did you ever think of that? (And the lyrics I just put up are some of my faves from the song BECAUSE they are tongue twisters.) So, could you guys stop getting on to 50 cent about how he should stop telling us he can get hoes? Cause he isn't. But, at first, I will tell you this: I heard "Sugar" before I heard this song. I got kind of upset at 50 Cent because it sounded like he was copying. But both songs are good, great beats, great rhymes, all around grgeat songs. But while you are all entitled to your opinions, I still think you have your reasons wrong. :p
I think Skye is right on track. If you take a look at the MTV Interview that debued on MTV not too long ago, 50 states "Songs like Da Club are what make records, not the deep emotional ballads or the songs about having a beef with somebody" which is true. Everyone has to make a living right? Well this is how they make theres. Every artist has to have a few club hits to make it in the buisness, Candy Shop is another one of those cliche' ideas. I admit its not the best I've heard from him, infact I like In a little bit a WHOLE lot better then Candy Shop. (Definately not one of his best club hits) All I've been hearing is how people talk about how Eminem and so and so is better and more respected and yet they make their own club hits but differently. What about Just Lose it? isn't that an easy song to sing as well? The lyrics aren't as well thought out either. All artists have to make these songs, but if you truely want to judge someone, buy their CDS (not saying you haven't just stating) and don't listen to the singles that are out now. That is how you can tell if someone is a good artist or not. And if this is about another stupid "Rap is about sex, and degrades woman and blah blah blah" thread that comes about, face up to reality. This is the milennium. We all do it, and guess what? Sex sells. Madonna did it in the 80's. Backstreet Boys even did it in the 90's. And now rap is taking over. If you don't like rap, thats your decision, thats fine. By the way, Its a shame that the game had to leave Gunit, he has some real talent and I even think his CD has overcome 50 Cent's. He's got alot of competition to do so I'm sure thats why he added in more club hits then ever. Money is what makes the world go round, its sad but true and if you were in the same situation, I'm know for sure thats what you all would do as well. Everyone has to make money somehow.

I've gone to a N.E.R.D Concert featuring the Black Eyed Peas once with my sister. While we were watching Pharrel Williams perform, the black guy (I forget his name) came and sat three seats away from us. He was talking with this lady, and actually winked at me once and smiled at my sister. Okay so its not much but its the closest I've ever got to a celebrity. He seemed like the music bothered him alot cause he kept his hands over his ears to block the loud music out, it really did make your heart feel like it was going to pop out. But then again thats San Francisco for yah. It was awesome.

There is a few important things to say about my town called Santa Rosa. One it is the last home of the famous Charles Shultz owner of the comics "Peanuts". Infact his kids were raised here and he lived here when he died. His studio is around here and his ice arena where he use to visit at every show. Everyone over here is almost obsessed with Charlie Brown, its strange. Another thing is the man who played Timmy from the show Lassie in the olden days is alive and is working here in our city. Everyone knows he lives here and he lives up in the hills. There is also alot of Luther Burbank places, Luther Burbank was a man who was a herbalist and would mix fruit and came up with alot of fruits that we didn't have in the past. I forget which ones he made, something like mangos or such. I'll have to look that up later ^^ pictures below.

I first got my cat Harley when I was in the 8th grade. (this was a long time ago please note) after many countless days of begging my mom that I wanted one. I've always been a dog lover ever since then when I was a kid, and the only reason she decided to get a dog was my older dog had died recently. My mom hated cats until we got our first one. He was so cute, who knew he would turn out to be so evil. Since then my mom and I love cats and we have 5. Four we rescued from the dump that we found, and one that my neighbor abandoned that was like 11 years old. Kitties are just adorable and cute and I think its only natural to want to share about that. I would brag about how cute my cat harley is if he didn't claw my air mattress that I use for a bed 5 times and have to have it replaced. Yes lovely. Thank you for the cold nights I had to sleep on the floor. And even when he wakes me up in the middle of the night by meowing loudly in the face, I don't regret choosing a cat over a dog. I'm not going to say anymore incase I regret that last sentence. :animesigh
