No freaky preminitions like that ever hapened to me, but once i stayed up all night, and the next day i was halucinating. i don't remember what i saw, but i was in my room, and it made me not want to leave. i just took a nap and i was fine. My mom says the same thing happens to her if she doesn't get enough sleep, so maybe it's genetic. i just have to be sure i get enough sleep i guess :animestun
I use to have sleeping problems so I would get hallucinations all the time. Arn't those so wierd? As far as visions go though, the night my brother-in-law died on his motorcycle it was raining and I had a wierd feeling in my stomache. It was like someone punched me, I always get those feelings when I feel something bad is going to happen and I'm usually right. It was raining also, and the night just seemed so creepy. I don't know if thats what you call a "Vision" but I definately get wierd feelings and even my friends find it odd.

Do you mean like puppy love first love? I remember when I was 12 I had my first little crush named John who I thought I "loved" but he ended up ditching me weeks later. You know how that is. The point is alot of people consider there first love different, as far as my first love goes, I've been dating the same guy since I was 13 years old and I'm 17 now. That's 5 years and still going strong so whenever this relationship ends well, that'll be it. If ever, if it happens it happens.
To answer your question, it's not a religion; it's really more akin to a philosiphy. Simply believing in something doesn't make it a religion.
This is true. Although I do see where your coming from with thinking it could be considered a religion. But that would go against everything they stand for. The Council is probably more like a club then anything else, although I don't know why there'd actually be one, its obviously there for a purpose to bind them together. But no it is not a religion.
So, if she doesn't actually skate, and doesn't 'act' how a skatergirl stereotype is supposed to act, then what is it that makes her a skatergirl? You're not making sense, lol. As for stereotypes, particularly those of goths...meh. Sometimes America[nism] just blows me away. The sheer folly of thought exhibited by many American teenagers is worrying. America tends to exhibit some of the more extreme tendencies of the human race, and I think these stereotypes are a perfect example. In the race to push everyone into an easily understandable box [otherwise a useful tool in society] American teenagers have transformed themselves into mindless drones, acting out their alleged 'roles' in how they fit into their 'unique' teen sub-culture. Amusingly enough, this doesn't apply to every single American teen, but is the common stereotypical image
Who says only American Teens have stereotypes? I mean seriously, there are different kinds of stereoptypes all around the world, its not just America. It's not just teenagers either, Adults judge as well. Stereotypes will always be around, but yea I choose not to label people. I know plenty of gothic people and for me that just means all they wear is black. Thats all Gothic really is, just because your gothic, doesn't mean you have to whorship the devil. I hate how people assume that, that isnt what a "True" goth is. There is no such thing as a "True" goth. Nothing is wrong with being Gothic either.

The question is very basic. What exactly are you talking about and how extreme? I would need to know this before I actually decide whether or not its worth it. I would jump off a bridge with no parachute If I could live even if it meant breaking every bone in my body for tons of money. I think anyone would, its sad, but one lesson I have learned is "No one can ever have enough money" It really is the root of all evil. Since there are already bank robbers etc, that are willing to bend the law, who's to say anyone else wouldn't take the chance at getting free cash for doing it either? I think secretly we all would. I would pretty much do everything and anything to get my hands on some serious cash............except maybe trying to eat someone's grandmother. That's going a bit too far.
Heh- anyone who's ever eaten at a fast-food restaurant is a risk-taker... I believe we all take risks-- with our actions and with our emotions. We tell people how we feel, making us, in a sense, vulnerable to their rejection; we don't wear masks when we're sick in America, running the risk of infecting others; we use public restrooms; we climb into buses and cars-- fully aware that we could get into an accident and be killed, etc... Life is full of risks that every one of us takes. Since we choose to take them, then I'd say that the benefits must outweigh the risk...(except in the case of fast food and public restrooms...tee hee) As far as out-of-the-ordinary risks, I guess I do take those, as well. I enjoy things that are considered a bit risky... such as skateboarding and being out in the ocean when the surf's up (waves with a 20-ft face) Give me a well-packed parachute and a plane to jump out of, and I'm ready to go...I do love my adrenaline high.:animesmil But when I do take risks, I try to make sure that I take them with a certain degree of responsibility. There's no sense in being a fool about it.
I guess you make a really good point about the fastfood (I go to school and have been forced to eat icky mcdonalds everyday yuck! bad huh?) but the risks I was trying to get at were mainly the big ones not daily ones. (although that was helpful as you sometimes forget about those since everyone does it daily). So the question is are you a big risktaker? and what is your view on people who do take big risks? This applies to everyone. And yes you will be paranoid if you worry about the simple stuff like Morpheus said.
-
A catchy common phrase used by many, especially when trying to convince someone to not take a risk. What are your thoughts on risks? Everyone has taken atleast one in their lifetime. Usually for me it leads to trouble, but sometimes it seems the benefits of taking one outweigh the actual penalty. My questions are How do you deal with them and what usually happens to you when you do take a risk? Has there ever been a time where the benefits were too great for you to ever turn it down? What happened? Explain Your thoughts.

Does your race still sometimes conduct the stuff that interset you?
Pumpkin replied to a topic in General Discussion
I can't really say I've had much problem about stereotyping when it comes to race since where I live, all there is are mexicans and white people. Most of the black people over here act white anyway, and no one really says anything. I think its extremely stupid though if you take what people say to heart, as long as you like who you are and don't listen to them does it really even matter? You should never change yourself for anyone else, cause it doesn't last and you don't get true friendships that way. Anyways, back on topic, I have been joked with though by my non-white friends that say "Oh god your so white!" when I say something that sounds cheesy or a word that I'm using. It doesn't bother me because I know they are joking, and I listen to rap/hiphop,dance, etc. I guess someone could say I'm trying to be "Black" but those are just things that interest me now at the moment. You can't let things like this get to you otherwise it becomes a bigger deal then it really is. -
I would like to say I never lose my temper, but there are times when I just lose it over something so minuscule it seems ridiculous. Usually this happens when I've had a really tough week, and it just boils down to the point where I get really upset. I can be an aggressive person, but I also don't get mad easily unless provoked, but when I do, boy watch out. I guess it runs in my family because everyone in my family acts that way, its a habit. No I don't throw many fits, although sometimes punching your pillow when your angry can feel pretty darn good.

I haven't read Mars yet, but I want too, that and the Kare Kano Manga since it carries on after the anime series ended. Also, I read Peach Girl to Volume 6 and it just got too-soap opera-ish for me. Plus I heard
That sae got pregnant and all that and it just sounded like it was a cop-out from a soap opera, I hate how she switches from boy to boy too. Yeah real "love" there.
I don't know why, but I just lost interest. Check out Kare Kano. It rocks.

I rarely ever see male anime fans on websites or forums ever. So I was suprised when I came on here, there were acouple guys on the site. Its so rare, usually the ones that are, are the mods and thats it. I guess it deals with your experiences, but I have to agree with whoever said that men just arn't as open about liking anime as women. My boyfriend likes it and hes more open about it than I am though, but they are rare to see online. I've never been to a convention before but from the pictures I've seen the majority of people there are female. I'd be shocked if it was 50/50 here on OB, but I think, there are more girls if I'm not mistaken. I don't really know. But that is just what I think.
We always called that game bloody knuckles. You put some form of a coin on its end and flick it at the opposing persons knuckles which are held still on a desk. The fist person to bleed loses. Needless to say i've played stupid games. One of the oddest ones was the slapping game though. You have like 3 people and have them put there hands on top of each other in a pile. The hand on the bottom sllaps the hand on the top as hard as possible, and then then hand on the bottom does it again. Sounds easy but its actually rather painful. The first person to quit loses.
I know someone who played bloody knuckles before and he has scars all over his hands now. Pretty gruesome, cause yeah his hands were all bloody etc. *shivers* ack I could never take that. Lots of stupid games still exist, spin the bottle, and truth or dare. I mean come on, who hasn't played Truth or Dare? Or those stupid girly games where you call up a guy and talk to him saying hes cute, and the rest of them giggle. Ok so I never really did that, but I know someone who did!
Tipping (or Balance) was another that we engaged in. The whole point of this game was too stay flat-footed. The way we played is that we stood in front of each other, and tried to push the other over. The trick was that, if you pushed too hard, and your opponent didn't offer resistance, than you would tip over, or lose your balance.
My grandma taught me how to play this one, I use to teach it to all my friends, I also use to do that handshaking thing. Not sure if anyone gets what I mean, but like you rhyme and spack your friends hands, like patty cake when I was little. lol
-The third game is a sort of variation of this. We walk down the halls saying "boop" at random times. Almost as if having a conversation. -The final game I play is to randomly go "Pssst" with one friend back and forth through out of all class. We never really whisper any conversation. Just "Psst".
omg this reminds me of the stupidest game me and my friend from middleschool use to play. We'd pick a random word to say, and then we would call eachother out with it. Example, I would see her down the hallway and go "BABOOOON!" and she would go "BABBOOON!" back, meanwhile people looking at us like we're a bunch of retards. We stuck with the word baboon for awhile, and its still an inside joke with us. Nothing wrong with baboons.

Well this is the first movie I can remember seeing in theaters, was technically the Lion King when I was like 7 or 6. I loved Timon and Pumba skits and Mufasa's death was actually pretty dramatic to me as a kid. I'll alaways remember the song "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts deedle dee there they are standing in a row, big ones, small ones, ones the size of your head!" Is classic to me. But yeah, I went to see it with my friend Nikki at the time. It's funny, I've loved movies ever since then.
Hmm... yeah, there are a few things I'd like to change. First of all, I'd like to be taller. But not to the point where I'm above average... just around average height. That would mean getting another inch or so on my height to get me where I want to be. And I'd also like to make my face look... better? Hmm. Well, I mean, many girls have said I look "cute" and all, but I still don't always like my face. But I'm relatively lucky to not have any acne. How blessed!
I guess that pretty much sums it up for me. Honestly, I wish I didn't care so much about my looks, but lately, its like I've become obsessed with changing myself. Maybe because shallow people point things out to you that you become engrossed into trying to change yourself, its an awful feeling. I know I want to be tanner (Which I've tried tanning, and got an alergic reaction from it great and it takes a long time for me to tan) since I'm really pale. I'd love to change my hair, I just recently got bangs which I thought would make me look better but I can never style them right so they just hang on the sides of my face. Great. I'd also like to be taller, I'm like 5'4". I don't like how my face looks like, even though I've never had serious acne problems. I've been told I'm cute but to me it just feels like they say that to be nice. As far as how it affects me, yes I can get paranoid sometimes. (I go to school with shallow people so its kinda hard not too, darn independent study) I'd also like to lose a few pounds, I'm not fat, but I want to be about 115lbs and have a nice flat stomache. It can affect anyone's self-esteem, mine included. IF I feel I look good (Which it happens sometimes, sometimes I can feel attractive.) I'm alot more socialable and act way more confident. If I feel like I look as good as I can be, then I'm probably the most confident I've ever been. It seems to be a cycle with me, one week I feel extremely confident and think everything is going great and next week, who knows bad hair day. I guess you just gotta wait things out. Hopefully I'll have a great hair day soon, heck I need one.
How many of you are actually a part of different anime sites? It seems that this is one of the largest ones or maybe even the largest one..but anyhow...im sure someone here is a part of a different site as well as this one right? =P...but so yea...here are the other sites that im a part of: www.animecrawlspace.com www.animeonline.net and last but not least...this site XD...those are the ones that i know of so far...i wonder if there are other sites just like these
I came from Animeonline.net (AO) a long time ago, right after the big bang (when the site went down because it was underpayed) and it just kept going down and I got fed up so I looked for a new place. Somehow I came across OB and haven't really looked back. I use to post alot on MT (www.minitokyo.net), and AO once it went back up and AT (down now but it was www.animetalk.org) I knew alot of people from AO, and made alot of cool friends there. Sadly I left that all behind because all the posts on the new site are all so spammy and I really didn't like the layout so what was the point in me staying? It sucks because I really got to know the people after almost being there for a year, but now I'm here and I don't think I'll be going to any sites soon. Plus the moderators really kick people in the butt, which is good because you don't get the "Wut Colour IS ur FaVoRite" posts that you see on minitokyo. Don't get me wrong I liked MT, but Otakuboards has since become my new-found favorite. BTW Welcome to OB, you should stick around here longer, you'll like it a whole lot better believe me.
2 wolf paws, one on each breast both about palm sized. One has the chinese symbol for death and is dark red, the other for life and is light blue.
Is this kinda like Eve's cat paws? that actually sounds like it'd look really pretty. As far as I go, I've never had a problem with body modification. Infact on guys, tattoos are especially sexy. Girls as well, if its placed in the right place, you know on good features. Like stated above, tattoos can be sexy if you know where to place it. I have four earrings. Two on each ear and I recently got my second one, it doesnt hurt, and I love how it looks. Most of my friends have their nose, tongue or belly button done. I find belly button rings extremely attractive for some reason and once I get older I'm definately going to get one and maybe a nose piercing who knows. I think piercings and tattoos are looked at as a way to express yourself as an indivual, if you think it looks good, or want to be different, then who's to say its wrong and stop you?
Now that I have worked on that new phobia for all of you to deal with, my phobia is that of guinea pigs. I really don't like guinea pigs. I hate the way they look so calm inside of their cage and then when you reach in to pick one up they freak out! In a flurry of sawdust and fur they scurry quickly over to the other side of the cage. They make that "veep, veep, veep" noise too. I know they do that to taunt me! Looking at me with those evil red eyes...waiting for me to touch them. Darn you creepy little rodents!! No matter how much I tried to work with guinea pigs while at the vet clinic I could never pick one up. I can hold one if handed to me, but I still can't pick one up on my own. Everytime they freak out I freak out. I would rather work with mean snakes and angry lizards than a guinea pig. They're fixin' to loose a finger!
I love saying the word Guinea Pig for some reason. Anyways, I once knew someone who was scared of a hamster so its pretty common. I always did think they made some pretty wierd noises......
I hate the noice the vacuum cleaner makes, but I don't think that's a phobia...
Maybe It is because I hate that noise as well. Anyways back on topic, Sure I have alot of phobias, who doesn't? I think it'd be impossible if you were not afraid of something. Some common fears I have are heights and spiders. I can't stand being up really high even in ferris wheels (although I will go on one I just cant look down) and spiders just give me the creeps! I also hate clowns, cause I saw a movie when I was little about an evil clown, and well they just always kinda creeped me out with their cheerfulness. Another thing I hate that is silly is, well, goats. I hated petting zoo's and having to go in and see the goats, they would always try to head-butt me and ever since I just don't like them. I don't mind baby goats but large ones...just..ugh. Most of my friends find it pretty hilarious but I really dislike them.

I don't think I'm especially bad looking, but I know I'm not pretty. I guess that being said, I'm not judgemental. I use to stereotype like other people, but it was a phase I just grew out of once I reached my sophomore year of highschool. It's better to judge someone by their personalities, and sometimes people's personalities appear to make them look cuter. Ever have that happen? I've known alot of unattractive guys that just have cute personalities and can get any girl they wanted. It's all on how you represent yourself, confidence especially always makes you seem more attractive. Don't be shallow like the rest of the world and media, but be you, and see people for who they really are. As fruity as that sounds, try it, it makes your life so much easier.
Most of that is true, except that because of ninjas being so stealthy, quick, and working solo so often, you wouldn't make a name for yourself. You would be just another nameless legend. You could never prove that you were that ninja... unless you showed off to prove it, in which case all of the people you pissed off would be out to kill you. Unless you want to be hunted, you would probably be a nameless, or at least faceless myth. Think Trigun... everyone knows the name Vash, but not many believed the actual Vash to be him... and those that did hunted him down.
True you do hold a valid point. Alot of credit wouldn't be given to you, but to me that would override working for someone else. Credit wouldn't really mean alot to me, and that would solve the people chasing me and everything. As long as the name stays intact, who cares if people don't know what you look like? thats a good thing. Like vash as example, he had the choice of going to a normal life, and not many people know his real identity so it's really easy to lie about something like that then people pointing you out. The people that did hunt him down did figure out his true identity because of his own actions, that part would be hard, but if you are careful and have a second one it would be hard for people to figure out your true identity. It's kind of like spiderman.
