[QUOTE=DarkOtakuBoy]When I'm at work or at school, I pretty much act my age, for fear of failing or getting fired most likely. However, when I'm chilling with my friends, I would say I act younger (around 16 or 15 years old.) We have all been friends since we were 10 years old, and 10 years later we are still a very tight-knit group of neighborhood "kids". So, when we all get together (as we do very often), we still act and feel younger, playing Magic: The Gathering or playing videogames. Not to mention the same inside jokes that are still as funny as day one. (the only difference now is the beer, which can and does make us act even more immature. hehe) Plus, my hobbies like anime, videogames, and punk rock music are for guys in their mid teens. (according to "accepted social standards" I mean) Dark Otaku Boy - who utterly abused parentheses in this post. =([/QUOTE] [SIZE=1] I have the same situation as DarkOtakuBoy. I have friends that are way older from me (my best friend is 2 years older, and they range from 18-28 yeah yeah I know) and then I have friends from ages (13-16) that are mostly at school. When I'm at school I act younger, more how you say hyper? but at home I think I can act older. I don't think you have to be a teenager to like anime, thats just some silly stereotype. I've seen 30 year olds go shopping and pick up anime tapes in the store all the time, ecchi most likely *coughs* Just kidding. But seriously, anyone who tells you such a thing is stupid. Anime is for ALL ages. Not just for kids. I had to explain that to my sister, who was shocked to hear there was smoking in a "cartoon". But I guess you have to watch it to get it. Don't let it get to you. [/SIZE]

Do you consider yourself a pacifist or a warrior?
Pumpkin replied to elfpirate's topic in General Discussion
[QUOTE=Adahn][size=2]Hmm, I don't have problems, so it's sort of difficult to decide. I'm not a very violent person. If people don't like me, or are mean to me, I tend to be nice to them. I guess it's just the kind of person I am. I have a funny little story. I was at the Olive Garden, and I really like their breadsticks, so I asked for more so I could take them home. Being the good person that I am, I ate one of them so as not to seem wasteful, and asked for 'doggie bags' to take home my uneaten food. The waitress put the meal I was eating in the container thing, then took my breadsticks and threw them away. My mom insisted that I give her hardly a tip, because we both (well, all three) knew she was doing it to be a *****. But, I felt compelled to over-tip her. I don't know what kind of an effect it had on her, being rewarded for doing something nasty to me, but I really didn't want to give her less of a tip in response to poor service.[/size] [size=2][/size] [size=2]On the other hand (sorry for the tangent), I love fighting for fun. My friends and I did it for a while, and people eventually were afraid of me, because I fought like my life depended on it, even though it was just for fun. I didn't fight dirty, but I wanted to hit the other guy so bad they all must have seen it. One kid who must be a good half-foot taller than me, and a football player to boot, refused to fight me because he said he was afraid. I've always sort of hoped someone would come along to test my mettle, but it hasn't happened yet. If it does, I hope I can fight with the same passion for victory as I did for fun, and am not blinded by rage.[/size][/QUOTE] [SIZE=1] I would say I'm both a warrior and pacifist. And I've had the same thing happen to me, since I always ask for things to go when I'm at a restaraunt. Honestly, she is taking advantage of your kindness, I would have tipped her less for it. Your just too nice of a person. Sometimes I'm like that too, its almost as if I have two sides of me now. When I was a kid, I was really aggressive as well and use to get into fights at school all the time, hard to believe I'm the same person now. Most people are shocked when they hear that I was a rebel because I'm so mellow now. It takes alot to provoke me, but once my "warrior" side comes out I pretty much fight with all I have. So I believe I still have a fighter spirit deep down ;) even though my friends say I wouldn't hurt a butterfly, if only they knew. :D [/SIZE] -
[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] Wow and I thought everyone was forgetting about cowboy bebop now. Guess I was wrong. I like this idea, and you did the beginning in a cute way although it needs alot of work. I suggest what Annie mentioned is add in a main villan we're suppose to track down, someone that is our main goal. I want to start a faye-like character :) since shes one of my idols *cackles* Muhahaha This will be great. Good Job! Keep me posted on any updates to it. [/FONT][/SIZE]

I have very different ideals from people in my hometown. I'm a senior in HS right now. Although I dream alot, I know I will probably go to my local Junior college for two years and then (hopefully) transfer to a University. Most of my friends have the same plan, but then also want to live in England after the two years is up. I have yet to decide what I want to do. I've never longed for a family, as much as everyone else has. I guess its because of my parent's bad marriage, or my un-trustfulness when it comes to men, but I've always wanted to be a single mother, and adopt a child from a foreign country. Preferrably places that children are really not taken care of. I also want to have a nice career, I love hollywood with all its glamour and even the bad side of it. If I could be successful in any part of that career area, such as Journalism would be fun. To interview stars, or be on the radio, or I have thought of writing screen-plays for movies. Even if it sounds childish. No drawing for me, all I can do are stick figures. Writing is a passion of mine, either being an author, or articles in magazines, would be a dream job. I also want to live in a city (much to my mother's complaining of me thinking of such a thing) and might move out to San Francisco (its expensive there so maybe not) but it's the city I was raised around. It's not too far away, and most of my friends are going to the college that Box Hoy named. I want to start over, and have a great career and a child of my own. I want to do something that makes a difference or is unique. I know I can do something wonderful if I put my mind too it, but I have yet to decide. I also want to be a professional dancer, and love dancing. Maybe own my own club. Something that makes money, but that I enjoy doing. To me there is only opportunities.

Anime Your favourite Anime Seiyuu (Voice acting) & Music
Pumpkin replied to PWNED's topic in Otaku Central
[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] Hmm my favorite Seiryuu? would probably have to be Megumi Hayashibara, her most famous works I would say are from Love Hina as Haruka and Cowboy Bebop as Faye. But mostly, if you want to see every anime she's been in take a look at this link [[url]http://www.tcp.com/~doi/seiyuu/hayashibara-megumi/roles.html][/url] She's amazing and I love the sound of her voice. No one could make an anime sound more at home to me. Also I prefer the music of Slayers the most, although I don't think I could pick a favorite ;) there are just too many great songs out there that I enjoy! [/FONT][/SIZE] -
[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] Wow alot of people met eachother on OB. Strange. Atleast I don't feel so much of a loser when I say I'm in an online relationship. We don't live too far from eachother, same state and everything. He lives in southern california and I live in northern. I'm known him since I was 13 year old, and we just clicked. Its wierd how that happens, If I knew how stressful it was I probably would not have got into it because of all the trouble it has caused my family. My mother knows of him, but I spare her the details since she's pretty discriminating about people (She likes to gossip thats all I'll say) But other then that my relationship with him is pretty good. He can't visit me yet, why? because my mother would throw a fit. She also likes to throw in the fact that he's mexican, and also of the fact that he's poor. She makes rude comments about it and I'd hate to have that shoved in his face because he's had to deal with racial problems in his life (shes not racist she just says mean comments to make me feel bad). Me, I'm white and I also grew up pretty wealthy (although I wouldn't say so now) and was one of the "richer" kids in my class for awhile. The fact that its an online relationship doesn't seem to bug her as much as the factor of us being so different. It sucks because we're alot more alike then we seem, and despite all the heartache and trouble, I wouldn't trade it for the world. He's always been there for me and is understanding, infact I can tell him almost anything. We plan on moving in together soon, and finally I'll be able to get away from my mom and her controlling nature (she doesn't even let my sister take her money out without her signature and shes 24!) and if I have to be near her I'll suffocate. Heh, anyways I'm glad there are others out there like me who are in somewhat similar situations :) [/FONT][/SIZE]

What do you look for in a guy/girl?
Pumpkin replied to Farto the Magic's topic in General Discussion
[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] Sorry I'm not a guy, but I'm going to reply to your post anyways. I use to be like you, infact half the time I thought relationships we're pointless, still did even when I had a boyfriend for awhile, but later that began to change. The reason? because I didn't go searching for one, it just sorta happened on it's own. Your young, and actually getting serious with someone isn't the smartest thing to do. Japan_86 is right when he says there is more to the world then just having someone, which I'm sure you will find later on in your life. Anyways as far as the stalking in the mall goes, we'll yeah there are alot of girls that go to the mall to check out guys. Vice Versa. I know guys follow me in the mall sometimes, and yeah it bugs me but you can't let it get to you. Its somewhat flattering in a stalker-ish-wierd-dont-you-come-near me sort of way. And okay about the giggling, I use to never giggle, but now I laugh all the time. Thats just me. It can mean they think your cute when they stare and giggle at you, but sometimes it could be you just have a funny expression on your face. I do that alot with my friends, if I see someone with a funny expression I laugh but then again I laugh really easily. Which is odd since I never did before, one trait my boyfriend got me use too. So you see not every girl giggles for THAT reason. Also, as far as a guy liking a girl, guys like different things. It all depends on YOU so you're going to have to figure that one out yourself. Look around and think about what type of girl you like, sounds like you'd want someone caring, sweet, carefree, outgoing and friendly to me. How can you say what kind of girl all guys like? Some guys like short girls. Some guys like them for looks. Some guys for personality. I have numerous guy friends who look for different things. [/FONT][/SIZE] -
[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] My name is Katie. Which was quite common at my schools. Most girls were named Kahryn and called Katie for short. So I got ALOT of teachers calling my names like Kathryn (its not by the way just Katie wierd I know), Kaitlyn, Kate, Kat and yes even Kitty. I prefer Kitty overall.me My friend yelled across the quad one day saying Katie so many times she accidently called me kittyy, and used it all my freshman year. I was actually called "Kitty Kat" that was my nickname and I would sign that when I wrote notes. Eventually it became annoying when people would laugh and pet my head and call me Kitty Kat. In the 7th grade, my friend and I use to call each other Baboon. Don't ask it was like our own little thing. I hate being called Kate. I have been called that since I was little by teachers and I have to ask them not too, its silly but theres a girl on my block named Kate that I always hated. Meanwhile making me think of her everytime I hear that name. Plus I just don't like it. lol. So now Im just Katie, and I'm satisfied with that. As far as my online names go. For forums, Purplefire and Pumpkin. And in most games I roleplay as Karmata or Yavela. [/FONT][/SIZE]

[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] I usually look up images of that anime, and music. Music especially if I like it, and check to see if I missed any OVAS or Specials. Then I might look at a review or too, nothing special. If I really liked the anime, I will look into buying the manga. But only if it really struck me, which doesn't happen all that often I must say. Music is the most thing I go for. [/FONT][/SIZE]

The OtakuBoards Nifty Fifty: Nominations (2004)
Pumpkin replied to Shy's topic in General Discussion
[B]What is it?[/B] The Chicken Throwing Thread [B]Why was it nifty?[/B] I don't remember the name of this thread..I looked but I cannot find it. But I found it soooo funny that so many people (me included) argued over a co-worker at a factory for Kentucky Friend Chickens threw a chicken like a football into a bin where it was soon to die. There was the "PETA" side and the "I eat meat so I dont care" and then there was the "I think animal cruelty is funny" people. Something about it just seems too funny to be, flaming about a chicken. Its one of the only ones that I remember thoroughly. [B]What is it?[/B] ChibiHorseWoman [B]Why was it nifty?[/B] I don't know why people say she makes 'un-unique' threads, most of her threads are the common questions we WANT to ask. I like them. She makes interesting discussions in the Otaku lounge. and for that she is nifty XD [B]What is it?[/B] The "What would happen if the world ended" Thread [B]Why was it nifty?[/B] Mutant Twinkies in a factory and coakroaches, need I say more? -
[QUOTE=junkobakaiba][font=Times New Roman][font=Comic Sans MS][size=2]The reason I came to otaku boards was not so long ago when I was even newer to anime. I had just been looking for something on Yu-Gi-Oh! And stumbled upon theotaku?s Yu-Gi-Oh! Shrine. I then being terribly new to anime explored it trying to find as much as I could about any anime there was. I suppose I was just looking around the site when I noticed otakuboards. That was when I was just joining any forums I saw (which is why I have this stupid user name! ^^) and so I immediately joined? I suppose it wasn?t too much later that I posted and now that I look back I was pretty ashamed at those posts. I think I managed to look like a total idiot and upset quite a few people. After a while I realized this so kinnda stopped posting until recently. I?ve seen more interesting topics and have the slightest bit of maturity so haven?t made (as big of a) fool of my self.[/size][/font][/font] [font=Comic Sans MS][size=2][/size][/font] [font='Times New Roman'][font=Comic Sans MS][size=2]EDIT: oh I remember more of how I got from theotaku to otakuboards!! I think I actually fond theotaku when looking for .hack music. When I saw the jukebox I decided to try it and realized I had to be a myotaku member. I immediately registered so that I could listen to music and some how stumbled upon otakuboards. [/size][/font][/font] [font='Times New Roman'][font=Comic Sans MS][size=2][/size][/font][/font] [font='Times New Roman'][font=Comic Sans MS][size=2]and is it just me or was there another topic like this somewhat recently (it would have to be recent if I rember it! ^^) because I remember some of these stories...[/size][/font][/font][/QUOTE] [FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] I know exactly how you feel Junkobakaiba (By the way I love your name, its alot better then boring ol' Pumpkin hehe) Anyways I will tell you a story of how I came across OB. (Be warned its a long and confusing story, bare with me) Once upon a time there was a person named Purplefire who was a beautiful evil scientist bent on world destruction (don't ask), she registered at a site called AO (Animeonline.net) and began to post away and made lots of friends. One day the Administrator could not afford to pay for the site anymore, meanwhile one day it dissapeared. Poof. Half of the members created another forum for talking called AT (Animetalk.org) who all considered themselves well how you say "Elite" or the "Old-school" members. The rest ventured off to MT (Minitokyo.net) meanwhile, AT was fastly dieing, so Purplefire began to post on MT. Soon enough, AO was up and running again, and she registered at her favorite site. No more then three weeks, all the old people of the forum were replaced by people speaking in 1337 speech and famous posts like "DuDE that site ROx!! DIS anime is KOOL!" and after a migrane or too, decided to take a break from the chaos. Even MT's topics started to become more too common and stale such as "Whats your favorite color?" and in search she used a program entitled "Google" and eventually typed up Otaku. There she came across a place called Otakuboards, and decided to try it out. Alas, "Pumpkin" was born on 9/23/04. Although she still talks to some mods and friends from AO, she remains here to this day. Actually I can't believe its been five months. If you don't believe how bad at AO is, you should check it out yourself. I dunno I didn't like the new layout, many of the people I actually talked to and got to know well before never came back (to my sad dismay) and I like the fact that this place is so strict about their posts. I love the old AO, and hated to see it change like that. It actually affects you to a certain extent believe it or not (not like i cried or anything but still it was my favorite site at the time) By the way I have nothing against MT, except that they have the most repeated topics in the history of forums. One thing I like about this place, every thread is unique. Or atleast somewhat. So I'm proud to be an OB'er...even if I don't know that many people here. [/FONT][/SIZE]

I wish I knew another language besides English. I'm half-Hungarian and my mom and grandma speak Hungarian. My mom never taught me the language because she felt there was no use for it, I wish she did. As for responding in english, [B]Panda[/B] My mom does that all the time. I guess it comes from only using it around the house, my friend calls it "Pigeon Talk" lol since my grandma will ask my mom something and she responds to english. But hey, atleast you know another language right? ( I wish I did so then I knew when they were talking about me, which I know they do! XD ) [B]Chabichou[/B] that is amazing that you can learn so many languages, its useful and I actually heard once your bilingual with two languages, it makes it easy to learn another one. I don't think you'll have much trouble learning Japanese. [B]Syk3[/B] if it makes you feel better I had the same problem. I only know the basics of spanish after taking it from Kindergarden to the 6th grade and then two more years in highschool. People ask me all the time why I never learned it and that I should know it fluently, the problem is that I don't use it in my everyday life. Which is a must if you're going to learn a language otherwise you'll forget it. Which I did, sadly. Even after all that time, I was never really interested in Spanish even though it would be "So" useful and all since I live in California. Sad enough I'll most likely have to take spanish again in college although I'd love to take Japanese (No brainer there, you knew I was going to say that) since thats what interests me at the moment. [B]Altron[/B] Well I agree with you to a certain extent, going to Japan JUST for anime or because thats where its from is wrong but its okay to be inspired by it! If you have determination to learn Japanese you can do it, it just takes alot of time, effort, because its so hard. I want to take Japanese because it would be fun to me for a language course, then to do an easy close-to-english language that I clearly dislike. I don't expect to be fluent but I think it would be fun to learn a few things too (maybe figure out a kanji letter in a manga, how is that not an accomplishment?) Another reason anime fans often like to go to Japan is because it sparks an interest to learn about their culture. Is that wrong? Is it more wrong to want to know about Japanese culture from greek? I know I want to visit there because I want to see the temples and get a sense of their lifestyle because it is SO different from ours. When things are different to you, and your lifestyle (Im assuming you live in the U.S) yeah its interesting. So don't always jump to the conclusion that thats the only reason. Anime is a big part yes, but there are lots more things in Japan then anime that appeal to people. Tokyo is the biggest fashion city if you didn't know, just an example of why people might visit Japan. There are many different reasons.

[QUOTE=Angel]I really liked the Red Bull commercial where a bird craps on a guy's head. Then the guy drinks some Red Bull and flies over top of the bird and starts unzipping his pants. Revenge is great. Also there are two Budweiser commercials that make fun of the Miller Light commercials where the refferees replace people's Bud Light with Miller Light. It has the referees stealing the Bud Light and then they jump into and ride off, laughing. In the other commercial the cops stop them for stealing the beer, and they just make a run for it.[/QUOTE] [FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] lmao I love that Redbull commercial. Makes me laugh so much everytime. Another commercials that I like are those ones with the guys in their offices (forget what its for? cereal or mcdonalds Im sure) The one where the guy is eating his cereal and his boss comes up to him and tells him hes fired. He can't hear cause hes eating crunchy cereal so all you can hear is the crunching noise, and he keeps nodding. Meanwhile the boss is like "you can go far with that attitude" and there have been plenty of other episodes of the same guy where the boss goes "Ugh hes still here" Guess you have to see it to believe it. There is also another one where the Boss goes "Okay someones got to get fired?" Guy "Well then which one of us is going to get fired?" Boss *Eating cereal* "I dont know, umm pick a number..how about you, choose a number between 1 and 5?" Other Guy " 4 " Boss " Your Fired " Yet another one you have to see it to get it ;) I also love the one where there are two bikers and a guy on an imaginary bike since he can't afford one. He says hes going to go down a hill, and runs down this steep hill covered in leaves and falls on his face half-way. Cracks me up all the time. Gotta be my most favorite commercial on at the moment. [FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] You might want to add more information about what you want next time, I was suprised it was hard to find any good scans to make a banner out of Hotaru with. If you don't use this banner I won't be offended just make sure to credit me if you do. I did one of young hotaru since I wasn't sure what you wanted, not my best work, but I tried. (mainly because you didnt put a picture you wanted up that would help me out lots ^^) [img]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v494/PurpleFire/minako.jpg[/img] By the way the link is this [url]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v494/PurpleFire/minako.jpg[/url] Add the [img] tags and presto! [QUOTE=ChibiHorsewoman][color=darkviolet] Your grandma and Wiccan Samurai's grandpa sound like they have my mother-in-law beat, but let me elaborate a bit more. My mother-in-law had a (n invisible) boyfriend who was supposed to be heir to the Spalding (ie basket balls) fortune, but then his plane crashed and he died. Her brother who is supposedly in the Hell's Angels is 'responsible' for killing him so he doesn't exist any more. She doesn't shower or bathe at all and has 7 cats in a one bedroom apartment. She gets jealous of how much time and attention my husband spends on me, our daughter or anyone else...let's see....She thinks that any guy (including my dad who has been married to my mom for 30 years) who talks to her wants to get with her. My mother-in-law dresses like a [spoiler]Sk]anky [/spoiler] 20 something because she's a size 00. She's a size 00 because all she eats is beef jerky and she skips eating for days even though she has pleanty of food stamps...One of her neighbor's kids (who is actually her neice) asked her for a box of pasta once and Sandy (my MIL ) told her that it was in the freezer so she couldn't use any. Oh, let's see, Lincoln told me that once she used one of those telephone dating services and when the guy showed up he took one look at her and said he had to repark his car. He never came back. And to top it all off she got **** face drunk at mine and Lincoln's wedding reception and got mad at me for yelling at her about it. She said it was because of her boyfriend's death...not because her sister (who she doesn't really talk to) wouldn';t give her $300. Oh yeah, when Lincoln got back from Korea the first thing she said to him was 'can I have $350? She hadn't seen the only one of her 2 kids that speaks to her in a year and instead of asking how he was or saying she missed him, Sandy asked him for money. So yeah, after I pay my bills I'll donate $20 to the red cross, but I still don't think anyone can beat all that.[/color][/QUOTE] [FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] LMAO. My grandmother hates cats, infacts she usually tries to kick the ones we have (yeah we have 5 cats but thats because they were abandoned, one of our neighbors dumped his 11 year old cat on our door and he was half-dead, long story anyways) did i mention she cusses in another language? yes thats right, and tries to speak to my friends in hungarian. Like they can understand anything. As for that telephone dating service, omg that is hilarious. Really sad but funny. Reminds me, my grandma is quite popular with the guys at the retirement old people's center (she use to live with us but now she moved over therer) infact I was walking with my mom to go visit her. She doesn't open the door to strangers, and we usually have to yell to get her to open the door, she must have been asleep since she didn't hear us and we asked one of the janitors to open the door for us. My mom was saying to me "I bet she's in her nightgown so she doesn't want to come out." and then that old guy was like "It's okay, shes got it going on!" and left. How embarrasing is that? Old men are so perverted ;D Anyways, Methuselah your uncle doesn't sound all that bad. Atleast he's not into Lord of The Rings or else he'd be smacking people with mops eh? My dad think he's a kid too. So I guess I'm use to that kind of behavior. After all he does rhyme everything remember. [/FONT][/SIZE]

[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1] Alright I compiled a list of Quotes I found amusing. [B]What if you're a really good person, but you get into a really, really bad fight and your leg gets gangrene and it has to be amputated. Will it be waiting for you in heaven?" - Bart Simpson from The Simpsons [/B] Not sure If everyone has heard this one already, but it really kinda makes you think. If Heaven is paradise, if your paralized, or have lost a leg, and die, do you still get it back when you go up to heaven? the posibilities are endless. [B]Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. -Einstein [/B] Hey the genious said it himself. 'Nuff said. [B]It's a wonder we don't dissolve in our own bath water. - Pablo Picasso[/B] For those who don't get this one, I don't blame you. Just stating how we humans love to use up all our natural resources ;) [B]"Adults are just obsolete children and the hell with them." - Dr Seuss[/B] We are all children at heart. Atleast, I am....or maybe thats just my upset stomache. [B]Opera is when a guy gets stabbed in the back and, instead of bleeding, he sings. - Ed Gardner[/B] I don't know about you, but I hate Opera music. It so sounds like someone dying to me, or choking on a chicken bone. No Phantom of Opera for me thank you. [/FONT][/SIZE]

[QUOTE=Sol-Blade][SIZE=-3]My most hated cliche? [U]The Invulnerablity Cheat[/U]. lol No seriously though, some cliches that seem to repeat themseleves are: [B]1.Main characters always getting what they want. (Call me a negative person, but it's nice to see them go through hardships. It adds a level of realism and depth to their character personas) 2.Main characters always, [i]always[/i] kicking ***. Why can't they lose just a couple of times? We all know that they will end up... 3.Winning in the end. Come on, every story just apparently [i]has[/i] to have a Happy Ending. Eh? I'm a big fan of multiple endings now, sure it's nice to see game characters reach their goal, but the "What If?" endings really make get more into the story, even after completing a game. 4.Almost [I]every[/I] Love Story is a joke. (Look at the Final Fantasy games, almost every...single...one.) Give me two people I can actually develop emotions for, and be happy for. 5.Main guy being a "Badass/Hero/Stuck-Up" kind of person. 6.Main girl being a "Sexy/Good-Looking/Yet falls in love with the guy who she is just crazy for" kind of person. 7.Basically everything I said in the [u]Most used anime cliches.[/u] thread. 8.And lastly...nobody likes all the incredibly exaggerated cleavage of virtual women. It just looks stupid, and annoying. Yeah, go psychics.[/B] [/SIZE][/QUOTE] [FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1][COLOR=SeaGreen] I agree with James's post as well. Anyways, the love stories in some games arn't so bad. Yes I dont get the Rinoa and Squall thing, although I can say plenty of smart girls go for stupid guys IRL, but its rather wierd that she doesn't hate him off the bat. REALLY Strange. What really is a pet peeve of mine is they always make the villan look dumb or just a cold-blooded killer (Which is good in some instances :) muhaha) I mean look at Seymour, ugh it looks as though he's trying to show off clevage or something, not to mention he always talks in a lispe. Seems to happen with alot of villans these days with accents "Yessss I vill take over thiss vorld" What are you Jafar or something? Sad really because I've always loved the villan. Hey they need love too right? If they could make a game where they showed a villan's background story, or atleast made it so you can play the villan and take over the world..I would buy it in two seconds. I would rule the world and make everyone my slave muhahaha now thats a game I would love to play. Oh yes. [/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]

[QUOTE=ChibiHorsewoman][color=darkviolet]Gah! What do you mean they're not real? Oh well, I guess I should stop lusting after Duo Maxwell from Gundam wing and find me a real man...wait I have one. Seriously though, maybe your girlfriend is just pretending to like this anime guy because she wants to get rid of you, but instead of being up front with you about it she's making it seem as though she's in love with an anime guy. I think maybe she wants you to break up with her so she can be with a guy that she likes. Yeah, that's definately it. Problem solved, discussion over! Now if you'll excuse me I have to go back over to my stand and charge $0.05 for Psychiatric help.[/color][/QUOTE] [FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1][COLOR=SeaGreen] LOL. This whole discussion makes me laugh. I'm sorry. But yeah, I agree with what ChibiHorseWoman says, couldn't say it any better. Either that or the girl is crazy with [B]FanGirl Obsession Disorder[/B] and has got to take a grip of reality. I admit I long for Doumyoji in Hana Yori Dango but to chose him over my boyfriend? Uh...let me get back to you on that one ;) P.S. [url]http://www.cheep-productions.com/peachandandy/index.html[/url] Thank you to whoever posted this website, now I will have nightmares about Peach for the rest of my life. I can just hear her cackling now. the horror. [B] EDIT [/B] (reply to posts below) - ChibiHorsewoman, lol you just gave me the picture of my grandma pinching that guy on the butt, but then again, the peach obsessed guy could become obsessed with your mother-in-law XD Lix is right, this is definately a lame excuse. Its kinda like the saying "My dog barfed on the carpet so I can't come outside today" [/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]

[QUOTE=MehrLicht]well yeah orphans that relief workers dont find are meeting bad fates. dont think uniformed soldiers and red cross are taking kids from shelters and selling them. and another interesting bit of information for any soccer (or futboll) fans. zinedine zidane was on a beach when the tsunami hit. one of the best players in the world. i dont know if they found him yet or not.[/QUOTE] [FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1][COLOR=SeaGreen] I'm pretty sure if this guy, Zinedine Zidane, you speak of was on the beach he clearly would have died. Probably haven't found the body because most of them got washed away. So far they have only found 12 lieing on the beach. Horrible tragedy that sadly no one saw coming. As for turning Orphans into Sex Slaves, I could see that happening on a lower scale, I doubt they could steal them from the centers though, they'd have to pick them up off the ground themselves I would think ;/ Still really sad though. What OB members do you know, or would you like to meet in real life?
Pumpkin replied to Boo's topic in General Discussion
[quote name='junkobakaiba][color=black][font='Comic Sans MS'][color=black][font='Comic Sans MS'][size=2]Hmm this is an interesting topic. I (sadly) don?t really know any members really well? but I?d still love to meat lots of people. Any one on OB that seems nice and friendly would be nice to meet and I?d also like to meet any one who might live near me (in the DC area) because it would be nice to know some any fans not just on the internet. And I?d still love that big party for all the OB members that Mitch mentioned in the Three Whishes thread. So I guess I?d just like to meet someone close by, nice people, and really anyone and everyone.[/size][/font][/color][/font'][/color][/quote] [FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1][COLOR=SeaGreen] Actually I'm the same way you are. I don't know many people on OB for the fact that I'm originally from AO known as "Purplefire" the evil scientist you turns everyone into their little guinea pigs muhaha O.o; don't ask (Animeonline.net) and became great friends with everyone there except..everyone went away (animetalk.org) ;( and now all the N00bs have taken over. Conversation and posts have gone down to pointless chatter, and I find this site to be more to my liking. It would be interesting to actually meet people from forums that I know of, (By the way, I see your a new member welcome to OB!) so I guess I'll just stick around here for awhile. [/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR] -
[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1][COLOR=SeaGreen] Actually you might just be onto something there. I think its a great idea (funny too I might add ^^ ) and you can actually learn something about OB posters, especially newbies. You should have like a specific name for it like "OB Chat" or a forum post where you can post the conversation you had in the chatroom, anyways I could never sit through an episode of space ghost. Although I love Zorak. The Brak show rocks! anyways, I think you should try and speak to a mod about it, maybe then you can get some real input (since I only post here every once in awhile, hopefully that will change soon) [/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]

[FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1][COLOR=DarkGreen] [B]Name:[/B] Y'avela Dul'brene (Yah-vail-ah) (Dull-breen) [B]Age:[/B] 105 [B]Race:[/B] Nymph [B]Location:[/B] Victoria [B]Appearance:[/B] [url]http://www.selinafenech.com/artworks/moon.html[/url] [B]Spells/Weapons:[/B] Carries a white crystalized diamond on a silver pendant that hangs from her neck to cast healing and other spells. [B]Abilities[/B] Y'avela is a winter nymph and draws power from the season. . [B]Shadowmeld[/B] - Appears so that you are invisible, blending in with the background. This comes in useful when trying to make a quick escape or simply avoiding attention. Camoflauge/Stealth Affect. . [B]Healing Touch[/B] - Can easily cure a sickness or heal a person's wound, takes a certain amount of time. The more damage the more time it takes to heal. . [B]Icefire Glaze[/B] - A icy light falls from the sky freezing its victim in a frozen state so that they can no longer move. Cure is only to heat one'self or use fire magic. [B]Biography:[/B] Y'avela's mother, Zydrelle Dulb'rene was a well-known water nymph of the village in Lorien, and was known for her beauty and kindness. Her mother often helped others in need, and studied herbalism so she could learn about cures to deadly diseases. On her search for a cure for a particular disease, she came across a blue mage by the name of Kalador Albagorn. She decided to agree to travel with him on his journey since he knew about the other lands and she did not. She figured she could find the herbs along the way. She soon found herself falling in love with him. Hence Y'avela was born three years later in the village of Kuria. Her relationship with the blue mage did not settle well with her ancestors and family, for it was considered somewhat taboo to love outside your own kind. Half of her family disgusted by the incident and convinced that she had told family secrets to the Blue Mage, sent out a mysterious elf assasin to track them down. Kalador and Zydrelle were on the run before they knew it, and worried about their newborn daughter, left her in the care of her grandmother Al'vara Dul'brene, an older wood nymph in a old wooden cabin in Victoria. Unfortunately, they never lived to come back, and were killed three months later. Y'avela learned alot about healing and spells from her wise grandma who raised her, but by losing her parents she has lost her faith in depending on others. She doesn't have contact with any of her other family, for half of them in Lerion believes her to be dead. She developed her love of herbs and nature from her mother, but something about her grew different. Although many expected her to become a wood or water nymph, she found that she enjoyed prancing in the snow and became accustomed to Winter. She grew fond of Winter, and found it to be the season that gave her most strength. She soon was dubbed the "Ice Nymph" for her emotionless stature. She tends to be shy, and hides behind trees to peer at onlookers. Her curious nature has lead her to spy on others, but has never been caught doing so. Y'avela soon became friends with few spring nympths of Victoria, running through the forests, and changing the season. But she was different from them, and began to feel more isolated from the nymph-folk. Her attitude changed as she became friendly with many Draconians and admired them for their loyalty and strong nature. One day she hoped she could be strong and admirable too. Her grandmother Al'vara soon fell ill on her 105th birthday. Her sadness grew as each day grew by, as she watched her grandmother pass away. Her last words were for her to find her own destiny and reclaim her family's name. Y'avela's determination grew to prove that she wasn't a worthless nymph, and could do more then just change the seasons as time went on. Her journey, her destiny, relied on making a difference somehow like her mother, if only she knew what. She had grown fond of living in Victoria, but it was time she set out and find her own destiny. Y'avela left her small cabin, to find out more about her past, her future, her parents murder, and her family's mysterious secrets. Something in the back of her mind told her that the Nexius was involved, and she knew only one way to find out the truth. To track down her roots, and confront her family, but what layed ahead of her was yet to be revealed. She had to make a name for herself. For her mother's sake and her own. [/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]

[QUOTE=ChibiHorsewoman][color=darkviolet]Sometimes my family just makes me glad that I'm [i]adopted[/i] and I have the papers to prove it. :D And then there's my mother-in-law who just makes me glad that sometimes the apple falls very very very far from the tree. The best example I have of how my family makes me glad to be adopted is the time my mom's side went to an Italian resturuant for my papa's 75th birthday. My brother ordered spegghetti and my aunt Marty, goddess love her, asked him if he wanted balls with that! And there's always my brother who tries to run over squirells in his car. I swear if you say squirell he'll jump in his car and drive over someone's lawn to hit it  My mother-in-law leaves pleanty of examples. She's suggested that I stick my daughter in a pillowcase when I told her that Abby was having trouble sleeping at night. She asked her neighbor if she thought I left my daughter in the car when I went up to see Lincoln's cousin's room and left Abby at home with my dad. Oh and once she threw a temper tantrume in Payless because I suggested she try on a different size pair of shoes than the ones she had in her hand. :flaming: I dare anyone to top my mother-in-law! If you can I'll donate $10 to the red cross for the Tsunami relief fund.[/color][/QUOTE] [FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1][COLOR=SeaGreen] LMAO! sorry but but your brother who tries to run over squirrels sounds pretty funny. I bet you anything that my grandma can beat your mother-in-law. She's a sweet old lady but doesn't know the term "hands off", infact she even spanked my x-boyfriendsand complimented on how "cute he was". She also likes to grab other parts O.O; you don't even know how embarrasing that is. She's half-hungarian so most the time she misunderstands what your talking about and will make my friends sit down to talk about her life and world war II and how awful it is. Half the time she forgets that they are here to talk to me, and not her and gets annoyed when I try and talk with my friends. She also has two "boyfriends" and tries to dance infront of my friends. Which I have to admit is kinda funny especially when dancing to a rap song. And then theres my dad. My dad tries to be cool too much, and gets on my nerves easily. He rhymes everything you say, like if you said "I want to go the store " he'd reply "Store? More? you want to go to the store?" and finds it funny to repeat things in rhymes. Not only does he do this, but he laughs at his own jokes and likes to swerve the car back and forth. Its just a carwreck waiting to happen, my mom however is another matter, shes very serious and I don't even know how she can take my dad since they are so different. Its like we're the adams family or something. My sister however burps in public, is aggressive, and total opposite of me. She also likes to sing (which its painful to hear her singing) and screaming at old men jogging along the road. I'm not kidding. So yeah thats my whole family for yah. But the worst would have to be my perverted Grandma who asks me about my sexlife. oh goodie. [/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]

[QUOTE=Siren]Well, if I'm in the middle of nowhere, with no way to get home? I'd scoff at only three wishes, and verbally doubt this genie's power, because...what kind of genie only gives us three wishes? A second-rate genie, that's what. "I bet you couldn't even get me back to my home," I'd say to the second-rate genie, and with any luck, he'd poof! me to my house, and I'd still have three wishes. Now, if I had three wishes... My first wish would be for encompassing power over every living being in the entire universe, because, hey, I'm power-hungry, and I dig that control-thing. The second would be for 30 million dollars a month to be given to me, tax-free in a Swiss bank account. My third wish...would be for revenge against my enemies. They'll burn like pigs in hell. Hopefully my genie is one of those malicious ones, eh? ~_^[/QUOTE] [FONT=Verdana][SIZE=1][COLOR=SeaGreen] Okay Okay sorry to burst all of your guy's bubbles BUT there are three rules that a genie can never do...haven't you all watched Aladin ? 1. A Genie can never make anyone fall in love or stay in love 2. A Genie can never bring people back from the dead 3. A Genie can never give you power (jafar was an exception) My three wishes would be... 1. (selfish wish come on like you dont want something material people!!) A nice computer with a good connection, preferably a laptop with graphics cards and everything and never breaks down. 2. I would wish that I could have an expensive party at a palace with all my friends there and with gourmet food and all. (JLO style!) 3. I wish to set the genie free. yes its cheesy, but would you like to grant wishes all your life? I doubt it. plus if i make friends with him...maybe he'll grant me whatever i want later on muhaha....oh yeah beat that. [/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]
