I only played and own the second one Eternal Blue and it was really hard. Once I got into the castle (you know where he sees the light) and got to the top floor I quit lol its actually a really hard game for being so old. You noticed as games get older they get easier? Games back in the day were so hard, its good for me that there easy cause i suck, but geesh it was hard for me. I read up on the story since I couldnt really finish it. I liked Hiro and the guy with the horn in his head. Thought he was cool, reminds me of Kimahri except without speaking in third person (Kimahri loves Yuna. Kimahri love Sushi) Lucia is also especially pretty. I wish I could talk more about the story, but i dont know much about it :( if someone could fill me in more that would be great. I've always wanted to know what happens ^^

I can think up acouple of institances that are customs, I'm not quite sure what your trying to debate here or if you just want to see how many people can realize things we do everyday. Things that your expected to do is introducing someone. Say your with a group of friends and another one of your friends comes over (Who doesnt know any of your other friends...still with me here?) and talks to you, there is pressure to introduce them. You can either 1. Say goodbye to your friend or continue talking with them 2. Introduce them to your other friends at the table First one usually would result in awkwardness and either the person will ask who they are, or sit quietly staring at the wall O.o; If you introduce both your friends, than they can get to know eachother at a fresh start and see eachother less as strangers. Kinda get it? I see that as a custom. We dont have to introduce people. But most the time we do it because its what we're use to (and yes there are people who dont introduce others ^^ its considered rude see what i mean) if I'm wrong about this, let me know.
Dubbed is a term meaning that the anime show was taken from its original form with Japanese voice actors, their voices were taken out, and voice actors who speak English replaced them. Subbed is where the original voice actors are still there, and the translated text is just at the bottom of the screen. Some people prefer subbed because the voice actors tend to be better, other prefer dubbed because they don't like to have to focus on reading the text. There's other arguements about them too, but that's the basics. If you're watching an anime in English it's been dubbed, either professionally or by fans of the show. Fruits Basket was done professionally, and I think they did a really good job with it. Isn't there only four DVD's? Maybe you meant first four episodes...? Anyway, the point of the show is that everyone has flaws, both major and minor. Tohru's isn't necessarily that she wants to impress people, but that she doesn't want to be a burden and she wants everyone to be happy, sometimes at the cost of her own happiness and well-being. She's a people-pleaser, not an attention whore. I love Tohru, but that's just me. ;) -Karma
I like your view on it, but yeah I enjoyed Fruit Basket too. Actually reading the manga right now but I've already seen the anime. My favorite characters would have to be Kyo and Shigure (who doesnt love that cute puppy dog ^^ whee) but yeah Tohru is just your typical happy go lucky kid, but deep down there is just sadness because she feels shes a burden because of a certain incident with her mother. Shes also naive and cute too XD

I think I have to deal with alittle bit of racism each day. Where I live, its a somewhat small town, its more like all these towns smushed together making a big city. Where I live, there is a big seperation of Mexicans and Whites. In my old school, there use to be the Mexican table, and people used racial words like calling it the "Beaner Table". My boyfriend happens to be Mexican, which is rare, especially around here to even see a white girl with a mexican guy is almost kinda shocking. Its just different. I dont think they mean to be racist, but in a way everyone here is. I tend to have alot of Mexican friends too, that get alot of crap from other people. At my new school there are these two white boys who talk crap, half of the insults i dont even get the meanings of and Im afraid to ask. My boyfriend and I make racial comments at eachother, but in a JOKING way, I'm not offended unless its in a serious tone. When its in a serious tone, I feel angry because I think of how many people have talked crap to my bf about his race calling him horrible names. I might make fun of my boyfriend's accent, but he knows im joking. When your joking people can tell because the sound of your voice, and i think people who take things too seriously can sometimes just take it out of hand. Only way it can be offensive is when the person says the racial comment and means it truely. My parents are not exactly happy with me being with someone thats mexican, but they just have to deal with it.That is life. You just gotta shrug it off, and if you cant then alot of crap is just going to get you down.. Okay that was pretty long. >.< sorry for me rambling. pay no attention.

idiotic things that people say about relationships
Pumpkin replied to foreverinfinity's topic in General Discussion
Aah, but my dear Cinnamon, I didn't say I'd go up to a girl and tell her I liked her...that would involve me having chosen and placed this girl on the top. I don't think that being interested in other people if you're in a relationship is a crime....as long as you don't do anything, and don't plan on doing anything. I think something like this could just be a difference between males and females...because most of the guys in this thread have agreed with me, but the girls seem to think that there is something wrong with it. I guess it's just one of those things ^_^ o_O Geez. And question for you Lady Rin...what is the age difference between you and... 'Ranger'?
I'll tell you why girls find it so offensive. For a guy, its just considered flirting, hey what is that? nothing right? i mean your not doing anything sexual so that makes it okay. Wrong. One lesson with girls, they read WAY too much in anything. So basically your saying "I have a girlfriend, but I like you too" that is the message you send to a girl. I know this because it happens to me all the time, and often gets on my nerves. IF you have a girlfriend, you can look, but dont get too flirty , it gets really really annoying to me because it sends wrong signals. It also makes girls think that your interested and sadly messes with their feelings. You could really make someone like you, and then its almost like you dont like them anymore it feels like your being dumped. Doing that to a girl, could possibly make them hate you. Its okay to flirt and like a bunch of girls when your not in a relationship though, thats perfectly okay. But when you have a girlfriend I think she should be your main focus. There is a fine line between liking and looking. Warning to those who like many girls and have a girlfriend...it usually ends up bad. -
I'm from California and I like Anime/Manga and Games. I know there are tons of girls out there that do too, maybe your just not looking in the right place? lol. Anyways..yea..whats the point of this thread again? anyways...guess cali girls like anime too..suprise suprise

I just HAD to say this....that "Formula" you posted is all wrong. (I hate that you said formula too..just sounds wrong lol be yourself and dont use any stupid guidelines) It works, if all you want to do is attract girls to your looks and for someone who doesnt care about anything but that.If your a shallow person and you want a shallow girl, then I guess it would work for you. You dont have to have a great body, great hair or skin to get girls. Having just a pretty face is nothing, most the time girls dont even care about looks. There can be a guy with greasy hair, pimples, but still be considered hot? How? I'll tell you. It sounds cheesy, but sometimes a guy's personality can make him seem well..hotter. Especially a guy who can make you laugh and be your best friend. Often guys hear that girls like confident guys...this doesnt mean you should think your the ****, or have an ego (I cant stand men like that) or that you have to look like a guy from a magazine. it means Feeling comfortable in your own skin, comfortable with the way you are . Girls can sense when your fine with how you look and comfortable with who you are. Knowing who you are and being yourself even if your not the most attractive guy around a girl is considered sexy :) even if they do have greasy hair. I know because I've seen it, and I've fallen for a guy the same way. Maybe you should work on your flirting techniques or something.
Baron, I'm the antithesis of this formula, and just from how I project and carry myself, I get attention. There is no concrete, rigid, structured list of dating steps or guidelines. There just isn't, lol. If there were, only certain people would be dating certain people, all the time, and the "inferior" people would be dating "inferior" people, all the time. That's not the case, clearly, so clearly, the formula given in this thread is bunk, because it's trying to apply objective qualities to a situation that is clearly subjective. Furthermore, the objective qualities stated here, in the formula, are ultimately based on subjectivity, so their objectiveness comes into question, don't you agree?
I definately agree with this. There is no such thing as a right "formula" just be yourself.
I remember watching a movie in Health class once about all of the celebrities and such you see in the media who have ridiculously small waists and perfect breasts and flat stomachs. The movie went behind the scenes of a major media magazine (I can't remember which one, it's been two years since I saw the movie >_>). The thing is, they had the people who designed the cover on the video. These people then showed, in front of the camera, how they went and adjusted the pictures they got to make the women look their very best. A little round about the belly? A slight click and drag of the mouse, and it was gone. Breasts not big enough? Click and drag, and boom. "Respectable" size. The other portion of the movie dealt with dancers, and how many of them cut themselves because they needed to vent their frustrations. They were frustrated because they were not thin enough; their instructors told them to lose, like, fifteen pounds when they were already ten pounds underweight and living a diet of water and crackers. *shakes head* Ridiculous stuff.
This is called Digital Editing. Its done in every magazine, even the hottest models get it done. Its way common and suprised you didnt know about it. Yes it gets done, but thats what they need to sell their product. Its sad but true but people love perfect things :( even if there is no such thing as the "perfect" person.
You know what the main difference is? Most of us overweight men are comfortable with ourselves. Dare I say, we're proud. It's not that society accepts overweight men more, it's that we don't complain about it... at least not as openly as some women. The majority of us tend to keep our insecurities to ourselves. So if we have any problems with how we look, it might take some coaxing to get us to talk about it. .
Wow you must not know alot of overweight women. I don't really want to start an argument or anything so take take this the wrong way, but i gotta say i've seen alot of confident overweight women. What about Queen Latifah? Shes overweight and proud. There are even celebrity people who have been overweight and yeah they are confident. Opera. Missy Elliot. and lots more. There are alot of guys who are overweight on TV that are not given as much craptalk about as women you know why? As the saying goes "Its a man's world" and women are projected more as an object then a person. We are meant to look this way and that way for a guy to even look at us, or be considered Beautiful. There are many overweight celebrities that are overweight and considered cute, alot of girls are nice and dont judge by weight, and most the time muscles arent even attractive on a guy. Sad but true. Theres American Idol winner Ruben, Biggie Smalls, Fat Joe, "Doug" from King of Queens, even Peter from family guy lol there is always room for the fat guy, but hes always got to have the 'hot' wife. So there is alot of competition, even if an overweight girl has got confidence, shes still considered ugly even if she has a cute face. I've even heard this straight out of a guys mouth. I'm not saying all guys think that way, but the majority of guys care about looks, and girls are more caring about personality then looks. And Most girls who claim "Oh I'm so fat" I'm sure 99.9% that want to get plastic surgery and are even really skinny to begin with.

I think I kinda get what your saying. Everytime I see a supernintendo, and this happened just recently, i was babysitting a kid and he had one. We were playing all the mario games, the really old ones like Mario 3 and Super Mario World. Donkey Kong 1&2. To me those are the games I use to play and beat when i was a kid and just remembered how fun it was for me :D and how they just seem like classics. I think as cheesy as it sounds, we all have games that make us remember the old times. Like I remember the first Final Fantasy, and i was like what is this? and remember riding on my first chocobo lol I also remember Golden Eye being the first gun game i found interesting. Ah, those were the good ol'days.

Police Brutality...are they given too much power?
Pumpkin replied to Sol-Blade's topic in General Discussion
Perhaps I've just been lucky, but the few poilce officers that I have known by name we're really bad guys. But from what I understand, most police officers do have something of a superiority complex. And it seems that the worst in what the police force has to offer (at least in the US) tend to work in areas where there are a lot of us minorities. Once, I had a friend whose father was a police psychologist who works in the Juvenile Division. What he said was that most cops have such a hard time trying to catch the criminals who have enough money to evade the law, that they take it out on us minorities, no matter how small the infraction. Personally, I think that the police forces in Northern California, especially here in the San Francisco Bay Area, do have too much power. There are numerous reports every year of officers going into schools and activities in which the participants are minors and doing serious harm and damage, with out thought to the fact that hte person they are beating up isn't even of age yet.
Omg you live around the Bay Area too? I live right near San Francisco. I have always had a problem with the cops around here, I dont know why but they are just too cocky. Just because you are a cop, doesnt give you the right to talk **** to someones face, even if you do have the law behind you. Since where in the law does it give someone the right to beat someone up for such a small crime? no where. I've known alot of people who got sent to Juvi for things they didn't even do. I sadly can't count how many times some cop questioned me about what i was doing, or about my personal life. I can't say much because well I've only had bad experiences with cops, I've come across many sad to say, they are nosy, rude, cocky, and most of all violent. They also ring hard punishments to crimes people haven't even done without even asking about it. I guess if they catch someone and call it a crime, $$ theres money right there! Sad but true. But thats how i see it :( BTW my friend (who i wont name)'s brother was gay and ran away with his boyfriend when his parents found out. He's 18 so there wasnt much they could do, so they called the cops to go search for them since they hadn't heard from him in awhile. The cop actually had the nerve to joke about it when they were all worried and call him a ***. I think thats pretty rude behavior for a "defender of the law". -
In regard to the working for the apartment and the car...I don't know what the context of that was, so I can only say that this is an obvious realization, lol. I mean, of course you have to work for those things. If that is a stumbling block for anyone, then that person isn't going to have fun in the real world.
On that note, It wasnt a realization for me, was just stating its the normal for everyone, atleast almost everyone, there will always be that someone that has their car bought by mommy and daddy and never learn that value.
Amen. I really think I shouldn't be in college but a lot of people aren't so why waste this opportunity? I'm pretty good at Geology and am being offered jobs even as an undergraduate but really, I'd rather fall into a lavaflow than be underemployed. I wonder how well we'd do in school if our parents did the exact opposite (push/not push us into working harder)? Would it make a difference?
BTW forgot to add that college is not a bad thing at all, infact its probably one of the best things you could do after HS Just hated how people state that if you dont go to college that somehow means your a loser? no. it doesnt. but yes its good that your parents encourage you to do so, but i dont believe in the ones that blame you if your not going to college. some people just dont have their heart into it, maybe they are pursuing something that requires attention elsewhere? music? dance? who knows. Whatever it may be, there will always be people who look down on you. But who cares. its your life, and not theres.
Has anyone else had a never-ending perm that just wouldn't die?
My hair is naturally wavy and frizzy. So I have to straigten it like every day or even twice a day if i want it to look nice, I also get blonde highlights and have light brown hair :D I like how it looks but..there was this one time I couldn't go to my hair dresser (he's pretty expensive because hes really good at it) named Curtis because we we're running low on money that week so we went to one of those cheap places in the mall i use to go to when i was little. I told the lady i wanted layers, and my hair straightened, and she made my hair curl so much i looked like Juri from Utena lol i mean literally Example : http://www.raw360.com/media/1/20040116-juri.jpg It seems flattering on an anime character, but in real life? lets just say it was a mess that i'd like to forget. Honestly I think I like Return of the Jedi..I think it was called? isnt that the third one of the original? whatever anyway the one with that Rancor monster and when Leya was in a metal bikini was a good one. Also, I liked Clone Wars. I thought clone wars was actually good, and did something that lacked in star wars, a deep love story. even if it was a little cheesy it was still something.

That kind of stuff happens to me all the time for some reason. I think its just a coincidence. Sometimes you wish you can turn back time, but in the end, if it was bound to happen I think it would have. No going back now. As for true love, Half of me doesn't believe in it cause I can't say I haven't had many experiences with it, but I have found someone special to me. As much as I hate to admit it, yes I do love him. alot more then i ever thought i would. So yes there is love out there, as rare as it is. But one thing I do know there is a major line between lust and love, and many young people get those two confused. Also, passion fades away really quick so hold onto it while you can. You can only have it for so long.
Like everyone else? Boohoo.
Exactly my point! haha Thank you. Even after all that crap, it really doesnt matter at all :D For the people who dont have parents that care, you end up growing a stronger person. I seriously believe in that.
But the problem is often that they CAN work at that level, they just don't want to exude the extra effort. This is demonstrated by quite a few posts in this thread.
As for this that is someones own choice, and not for you to critize. If people make mistakes, that is there problem but they dont need you to voice your views on it. Period.
That's[/i'] art? That's garbage.
Oh man. you better stay away from rap then because there is way worse stuff out there then that. Basically all the crap gets sent to him and not other artists because alot of the stuff he does talk about (Not beating up women and all that other crap) is truth and about how he views things. Yeah it might be bad sometimes, but if you just label everything bad without looking into the deeper side in it you'll never get anything. There is always a sadness behind every word of anger, it explains him. and that is a gift of the freedom of speech and self expression thats in the Bill of Rights, a part of the constitution. Anime Can you tell whether or not a Japanese seiyuu is a good actor?
Pumpkin replied to Dagger's topic in Otaku Central
Just like to point out, I don't watch dubs. Most of what is put out is changed and I'd rather watch the original with Japanese voices. thats just what i prefer, i prefer japanese voices over english. To my experience most dubbs have horrible voices that just dont go well with anime, most make me cringe. The only one I ever kinda liked was Trigun, i liked Vash's voice and his laugh XD As for how you can tell if a seiyuu is doing his job or not? I dont think you can tell in a professional sort of way but you can look at the characters expression and if you personally think his voice suits his character. its all a matter of opinion. you might not think spike's japanese voice suits him in cowboy bebop, and that is alittle too deep or you might think inu yasha's voice in english is too funny. Either way it all comes down to your own personal opinion. So heres mine. I would rather watch subtitled anime because those are the voices they were made with, and i find japanese voices to be more fun and amusing :D english just sounds all-too boring. -
Honestly I think Eminem is one of my all-time favorite rappers, Why? Not because hes white, but because he writes personal things about his life in his albums. It's different then the usual "yo im a p.i.m.p biatch" over and over again. not that i dont listen to the mainstream stuff XD but the fact that he usually has a personal message in his songs if you listen to them closely. In a way, he has evolved rap, not only because of his race, but because of his lyrics. They speak about his view of his life, and also pokes fun about how people take the things that don't matter too seriously. Theres always going to be controversy. I think he makes that quite clear. But yeah gotta love slim shady, infact i need to buy his new album soon!
wow didn't think I'd start all that. As for my life being a cakewalk....BS!!!! My life's been a hellhole since I could walk , but I won't go into that. All I wanna know is if people my age are trying their hardest at **** they aren't good at to begin with (like math or biology) and still get critisized because your parents siblings kids are getting a's and b's while you get the 'average grades' and are proud of your-self but that just won't please them...thats all. But I will tell you I HAVE had to worry about having water or lights...I've had to live off of caned green beans for two years...now... I can't stand em' LOL and I can still laugh. Trust me I know how to suck things up. All this girl wants to know is if other people's parents are as expecting of them as mine are of me??
It's funny because my parents are always waiting for me to SCREW up. Everything I do, is wrong. Everything I do, upsets them. I guess I changed, and I've always been the sort of rebel-kid. I'm not a good student, I didn't get A's and B's in Highschool (i still dont and im a senior) basically enough to get me by, and I hate how everyone feels that the only way you can succeed is by going to college. College is NOT for everyone. People can make good money without college, and i dont feel it makes you higher then someone else. My parents you could say were dissapointed, because i had always been the smartest, popular kid when i was young. I think they expected me to be a straight A person and be prom queen..I probably could have to be honest. But its just not me, not who i am, not who i want to be. I'm not a super-model, im not a valley girl, I'm not the smartest person, and I'm not the most althetic person either. I'm still even looking for the thing I'm good at. For a long time all I ever did was be who my mom wanted me to be, i dont want people to like me for something i'm not, and to go on to a career that im not interested in. I'm going to get kicked out of the house when im 18, i have to work for my own car, i have to work for my apartment, and have been saving up since i wasl ike 10. All I have ever thought about since i was 7 was getting out of here and actually leading a life that i know they dont approve of. I want to do so much, and if they cant accept it i dont need them. Its sad but its all so true.
Okay, I'm currently taking an Animal Science class and have been learning about food animal production. First off, chickens are going to make a fuss, even if you just walk up to them in a hen house (my friend lives on a farm and I've helped her collect eggs before). Also there is a legal document known as the Humane Slauter Act. I don't think many people know about this, especially some extremist animal rights supporters (no offence to the vegitarians out there). I'm not sure how this applies to poultry, but it states that unless an animal is being used in a sacrafical slauter, it must be rendered unconcious prior to death. In no case can an animal be skinned or ripped open alive. So try not to believe the stories that say that all meat packing plants just stick a cow on a convaer belt and start hacking away at its flesh. Just thought I'd lay that myth to rest. As for your story, chobit, nothing can be done about chickens making noise, that is not considered lines for abuse. But the rest of it, if it's true, would be in violation of the HSA and should not be seen as a typical poultry processing plant.
Wow obviously you've never visited a factory or known someone who works with them. You think they say they do everything they state? No. Many bend the rules in so many ways. You should go to where they slaughter cows, half the time they arnt all the way sedated, sheep too, if you heard the screams i have you would think twice about that. But anyways, I think its wrong to blame PETA or anyone who is passionate about the way food is processed. First of all, its because the animals are treated like garbage and not handled with any proper care, which is secondly can be bad for your health because they dont even make the chicken properly. I don't think any animal should be throw around or slaughtered while being alive like that. I have to say I get everything Baron was saying, would if someone slaughtered your cat and just said "Well it was going to die anyway?" and ate it. Yeah you'd feel pretty disgusted right. I dont have anything against meat products either and not trying to encourage everyone to go vegetarian or anything, I think its more of the fact they want the horrible way of slaughtering to stop, cause in a way we are more like animals ourselves. We treat them in a in-humane way.

Hey guys. It's Chloe here. Can we meet up after school? At Angel's Cafe? Come if you can. It's urgent! Kiyoko Hideki looked down at her cellphone. "Chloe? Who's Chloe?" she thought as she could not come up with any idea. It was only her first week here, and she was already invited to a dinner party? She thought to herself as she borrowed her Aunt's old motorcycle on her way to the Cafe. She was late, too excited from track team tryouts. "I wonder if I made the team" Kiyoko daydreamed to herself as she rounded a corner. The symbol on her forehead began to pulse and shine orange, the symbol of Uranus. It appeared the day she had entered the school, and had never bothered her until now. "Ow!" she yelped and held one hand on her forehead, a strange dizzy feeling began to overcome here as she began to close in at the Angel's Cafe. As she pulled over to the curb, she noticed glass was shattered on the sidewalk, and people were panicking. Her mouth dropped open at the sight that she saw. OOC : Sorry haven't been posting -.-
On the other hand, SNL always has good presentation and most of the time the jokes are hilarious. Like the one this weekend, they were doing a skit where a young girl wanted to get her ear pierced and it was probably one of the funniest things Ive seen on the show. I could not stop laughing.
I have to admit that one was pretty funny 'RICK RICK RICK!" probably one of the funninest..but i also have to agree that most of there stuff is rarely funny, every once in awhile ill find one that is great, it was alot better in the old days, and i just think some of there stuff gets old. MAD TV is more willing to bend the rules a bit now. But of course this debate could go on forever and ever
