I said besides the Hurricane Spin, so that wouldn't count, and you need the Bug-Catching Net to solve the riddles, so you couldn't get it from completing them. And you get the basket at the start of the Riddle Quest, not from completing the riddles. So no, none of those are correct. Though I suppose I shouldn't have said that you get the objects in question from completing the Riddle Quest. Technically, you get them as you complete the riddles, not after completing them all.

I kind of disagree with the whole thing about Metroid Fusion being too linear. Really, it's not any more linear than other Metroid games, besides possibly the original. You can still go off at pretty much any time and explore freely. You don't have to follow Adam's instructions as soon as you get them. And in the other games you do still have to do things in a certain order. You still have to get certain items or beat certain bosses to be able to get to new areas and whatnot. The main difference with Fusion, I think, is that it does just tell you flat out where to go and what to do most of the time. I think this makes the game feel more linear and that there's less exploration, but like I said, you can ignore Adam and go off exploring pretty much any time you want, so I don't think it actually does affect the game too much. The second time I played through I just ignored the current objective from time to time so I could go collect power-ups and whatnot before advancing, and it was just like any other Metroid game. Another thing to mention would be the hint system in Metroid Prime. It acts basically the same as Adam does in Fusion, telling you where to go next. And I don't really think the hints make the game more linear, they just let you know where you need to go next in order to advance in the game. Again, you can still ignore them and go off exploring elsewhere. I think Adam in Fusion is the same sort of thing; a guide that tells you what you need to do next in order to advance in the game, not what you have to do next. But yes, the original Metroid was extremely non-linear (you could even choose whether to fight Ridley or Kraid first), so I'm hoping Zero Mission will retain this. Personally, I don't really like being told what I need to do next, which is one of the main reasons why I like Super Metroid more than Fusion.

Oh yeah, I always think of those two being in the same game... It's too easy to get the Oracle games confused, they're so similar. Yeah, Metroid: Zero Mission really crept up on me. Last month, just a few days before Christmas I think, I was checking through some release dates on Nintendo.com when I saw Zero Mission scheduled for Feb. 9. and I was like "What, that soon?!" Until just recently there seemed to be barely any info or screenshots or anything about it, and after all the publicity for Prime and Fusion, I was expecting a lot more for Zero Mission. This is definitely going to be my next game purchase, though. Ever since the game was announced I've been waiting and waiting for it. I've loved every Metroid game that I've played (still all but Metroid II), and Metroid is fast becoming my second favorite gaming series. Super Metroid still remains my favorite, but I also enjoyed Prime and Fusion immensely. And, like Tony said, Zero Mission looks like it may just be good enough to topple Super Metroid's reign. One thing about Zero Mission that I'm really interested in is the bigger emphasis on the storyline. The whole slogan for the game seems to be "What really happened on planet Zebes?" so I'm looking forward to seeing how they added onto the story, as well as the gameplay. The addition of the Crateria area from Super Metroid, which apparently has Chozo ruins in it, looks like it could hold a good amount of storyline info. The storyline for the Metroid series has always interested me but until Prime and Fusion were released there seemed to be so little of it actually told. With those two games the storyline really started to get more fleshed out, which made me even more interested. I think the series has a lot of potential in this regard, so I'm really looking forward to future installments. Oh, and by the way, there's some screenshots, movie clips, and a few wallpapers on Metroid.com if anyone's interested. There's also some stuff on Nintendo.com. I wish they'd release more official art, though.

Actually, the answer is three, but close enough. Answer: You use Bombs against Vaati during the first stage of the fight. Question: The name Talus is used in two Zelda games, the second of which being the name of the Talus Cave dungeon in Four Swords. What is the original name and what game is it from?

Actually, you can get the Wave Beam before the Ice Beam if you're good at wall jumping up a single wall. Very handy trick. But yes, the Charge Beam is correct.

Answer: 18 - The Legend of Zelda 07 - Zelda II: The Adventure of Link 11 - A Link to the Past 08 - Link's Awakening 08 - Ocarina of Time 04 - Majora's Mask 08 - Oracle of Seasons 08 - Oracle of Ages 04 - Four Swords 05 - The Wind Waker 81 - Total This is counting both the first and second quest dungeons in The Legend of Zelda since they're completely different. I didn't count the Ocarina of Time Master Quest dungeons as seperate, though, since they still have the same layout as the ones in Ocarina of Time. This also doesn't count the remade games' dungeons since, again, they're the same as in the originals. Question: In Four Swords, what is the most you can carry of any one type of seed? (As in, how many can you carry of each kind?)

She's right, music does play a pretty vital role in Oracle of Ages, seeing as the main concept of the game, traveling back and forth through time, is accomplished by the use of the Harp of Ages. Answer: 1987 - The Legend of Zelda 1988 - Zelda II: The Adventure of Link 1989 - Zelda 1992 - A Link to the Past 1993 - Link's Awakening 1998 - Ocarina of Time, Link's Awakening DX 2000 - Majora's Mask 2001 - Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages 2002 - A Link to the Past/Four Swords 2003 - Ocarina of Time/Ocarina of Time Master Quest, The Wind Waker, Collector's Edition Four more years and the series will be 20 years old... Question: What system were each of the above Zelda games made for?

Those would be the ones. Ask away.

Yeah, A Link to the Past is one of them, but there are more. Two more, to be exact. Keep in mind that they don't actually have to be called crystals, they just have to be some sort of crystalline jem.

Answer: If you choose to save after beating TWW you can start a new file on the second quest. Question: In which Zelda games do you collect crystals of some kind for the purpose of advancing the the main storyline? (No, Rupees don't count).

Sorry, but posting multiple times in a row is against the rules, and there is no way to attach multiple files to one post. If you want to have multiple images in one post, please host them elsewhere and then either post links to the images or use [img] tags to display them within the post itself. *deletes the second and third posts*

That would be handy. I've actually wished we could do that once or twice. The thing about it, though, is that it makes spamming through PMs all too easy. Like those people that register only to advertise their site. They'd be able to put in a huge list of names and spam tons of people with just a bit of typing and the click of a few buttons.

Okay, that's it--I'm drawing the line for this thread. I am so tired of continually telling people not to just post lists, only to be ignored... Thread Closed

Yep, those are the two ways. You can either use the Hover Boots to walk over the quicksand or you can use the Longshot to pull yourself across to the crates on the other side. Go ahead and ask a question. :)

ScirosDarkblade, if you want to reply to these types of threads, you need to tell some reasons why your favorites are what they are and give some details. Only giving a list of your favorite RPGs won't do, I'm afraid, since a simple list is considered spam on account of it being short and not serving much point.

That's how you cross the rest of the Haunted Wasteland; I'm asking how you cross the quicksand at the very start of the Haunted Wasteland. You know, that long stretch of quicksand that you come to right after going through the gate from the Gerudo Fortress?

Whee, my Collector's Edition disc will be on its way soon. I just registed my friend's PIN number a bit ago and got the confirmation e-mail. But now I have to wait a couple weeks to actually get it. I want it now, dangit. :p I'm having a hard time deciding whether to start on Zelda II right away when I get it, though, or if I should play through the original Zelda first. I kind of want to play through the original again, or at least the first quest, but I'm afraid that if I don't start on Zelda II right away I might put it off even more. ... This has got to sound so pathetic, lol. :cross:

Yeah, one of my main gripes with TWW is its difficulty. I came out of almost every fight in the game with full life--even room fulls of Darknuts, Wizrobes, and Moblins. Enemies just give you way too many hearts when you kill them compared to the amount of damage they do. I think it would've been a lot better if enemies did about twice the damage (with the exception of the Darknuts' jumping attack) and you never got three hearts out of those orb thingies. Pretty much the only fights where I didn't just totally wipe the floor was the last form of
Puppet Ganon
and the end boss. The last form of
Puppet Ganon
was just so dang hard to hit with the arrows, so I'd be sitting there aiming and it'd just come up and smack me since it moves so fast that you can't really dodge effectively. For the end boss, it really wasn't that hard, it just took me a bit to get the pattern and timing down. Once I did that it was pretty easy. I really hope they step up the difficulty for the sequal to TWW. If they don't I'm going to be really disappointed. I'm still waiting for a 3D Zelda game with a difficulty level on par with A Link to the Past and the Game Boy games. Ocarina of Time Master Quest was an improvement, but it still wasn't on the same level. Though at least the puzzle difficulty has remained strong in the 3D games.

Skull Mask: Sell it to the single Skull Kid in the Lost Woods, one room to the west of the entrance. Cuccos: The way that I get to them is to catch one of the other Cuccos and bring it up in front of the door to the windmill. Now hop up onto the fence, run along it, and jump off towards the big fence to the left of the door. (Left if you're facing it, that is; right if you've just come out of it). If you jump at the right angle with the Cucco, you'll float over the fence and land on the other side. Now just toss the Cucco back over the fence and then do the same with the other two Cuccos before following them and putting them in the pen. Zora's Domain: The "opening" down beneath the water is just a glitch, so it's not what's causing the rumble. I believe you have to play the Song of Storms on the platform either when you're young or old and it'll make a hole appear. Either that or try Bombs, but I think it's the Song of Storms that opens it up. Lake Hylia: Simply stand on the plaque at dawn and shoot ar arrow at the rising sun. This will cause the Fire Arrows to appear on the small island out in front of the plaque. Red Powder: I assume you mean the Odd Potion, right? Just give it to the Kokiri girl standing where the other guy was. Forest Stage: Wear different Happy Masks as young Link and you'll get different reactions from the Deku Scrubs. Lost Woods Skulltula: The clearing with the pit that leads to the Forest Stage, right? I'm pretty sure the Gold Skulltula is up on a ledge to the right of the entrance to the clearing. You should be able to use the Hookshot/Longshot on the tree in the meadow to get up to the ledge. Magic Beans: Plant them in those square patches of Soft Soil as young Link and then return as adult Link. The beans will have grown into floating platforms which you can ride to areas that would be otherwise inaccessible.

Well, you have to use the Bottle to pour water on the wilted Bomb Flowers. I'd count that as having to use it. Answer: Yes, it is, because I've done it. The first time I played through Ocarina of Time I beat the Spirit Temple before ever setting foot in the Shadow Temple. Question: In Ocarina of Time, what are the two methods of crossing the quicksand in the Haunted Wasteland?

An important thing to remember when trying to get a perfect town is to not have any trees right next to each other. Always make sure that there's at least one space in between your trees, both straight and diagonal. However, rocks and flowers don't matter for this--only other trees. But basically, just keep planting trees in the acres where the Wishing Well says there's too little green or something like that. And make sure that if you plant a sappling and it stops giving you a message for that acre, that you replant if the sappling dies. Even trees that you just planted count towards the rating, so if you plant one, get a perfect rating, and then the sappling dies, it'll go back to imperfect. Also, flowers don't matter for the Wishing Well's rating, so don't bother with them unless you want the decoration. The only thing that matters for the "too little green" message is trees.
