There are more, actually, that you don't need in TWW. Answer: Bottle, Bottle, Bottle, Picto Box, Deluxe Picto Box, Magic Armor, Tingle Tuner, Hero's Charm Note that there are only three Bottles that you don't need--one is required for entering Dragon Roost Cavern. Also, there's tons of items that go in the various bags that I could list, but I really don't want to... Four Swords items: Answer: Shield, Boomerang, Bow & Arrows, Magnetic Gloves, Gnat Hat, Bombs, Pegasus Boots, Roc's Cape, BowWow Question: In The Wind Waker, what route did Ganondorf use to escape sealed Hyrule and emerge on the surface of the Great Sea?

The DailyOtaku iss.2Thursday, January 8, 2004 Sightings of the Final Flasher Recently, the DailyOtaku has been recieving reports of the elusive Final Flasher, a member that once frequented OtakuBoards but then left for personal reasons. Lately, however, there have been rumors of this member's return and these sitings can only add strength to them. Follow the DailyOtaku as we investigate the latest Flashings. The first of these sightings occured at 2:45 AM PST on the morning of January 5, 2003. It was quiet in the Music, Movies & TV forum, when suddenly and out of nowhere, the Final Flasher appeared! Creeping into a thread titled "It's Elemeno P!" he Flashed the thread's author before disappearing as quickly as he had come... But not before leaving his mark for all to see. The forum's moderator, Manic, put a quarantine on the thread, but soon lifted it once he judged the Flashing to be harmless. The Final Flasher's mark can still be seen by passersby, for any that want a closer look. When the DailyOtaku questioned the creator of the thread, Shinji, about the Flashing, he said that "It was certainly unexpected." Going on, he continued with, "It was kind of disturbing at first, but now that I think about it, it's sort of an honor to have my thread chosen for a Flashing." And that it may be. If the Final Flasher truly is returning to OtakuBoards, this first Flashing might just go down in history. The next Flashing occured only hours ago at 1:39 AM PST on January 8 in the Sprite Central forum. This time it was a thread created by Dragonballzman, titled "Whoocha! LIKE NINJA!," to show off his latest sprite animation that got Flashed. When asked about the Flashing, Dragonballzman commented that "It was strange. At first it stung a bit, but then there was this weird, tingly feeling. In the end, it felt somehow satisfying." Just as with the previous Flashing, a mark was left in the thread for all to view. As of yet, we can only wonder at the meaning of these sitings. As some have said, these Flashings could be signs of an imminent return of the Final Flasher. Others, however, believe that the Flasher is simply toying with us using brief appearances to cause commotion among OtakuBoards' members. But, whatever the case, it seems these sightings are not limited to OtakuBoards only. It is said that Desbreko, who is still being withheld in the OtakuBoards Moderators forum for psychological treatment, has had brief encounters with the Final Flasher over AOL Instant Messenger, or AIM for short. The DailyOtaku was only allowed a short interview with Desbreko, in-between therapy sessions, and the former Category Moderator seemed to still not be all there. When asked about the Final Flasher, the most common response was "Four weapons! Four! Not five!" or a variation thereof. We were able to learn that Desbreko has had two encounters with the Flasher over AIM, but his screaming of "Four weapons" still remains a mystery. It is unknown at this time whether others have also had sightings over AIM, but when James was questioned about the OtakuBoards Flashings, he said, "Don't worry about them, Flashy knows what he's doing." The Site Director apparently isn't at all worried about the sightings, as they seem to be harmless. "There are a lot of new members that have joined since he [the Final Flasher] left, so I may have to create an announcement to keep the newbies from panicking," he went on. "But this certainly isn't a problem." Later, the DailyOtaku also got an interview with Warlock, a good friend of the Final Flasher. One of the longest standing members of OtakuBoards, Warlock has known the Flasher probably longer than anyone else, and we got to sit down with him for a few questions. Here's what he had to say. - - - - - - - - - - - - - DailyOtaku: You're a good friend of this Final Flasher, so you must know him pretty well. What do you think these recent Flashings mean? Warlock: Well, I can hope that they mean Flash is going to come back to OtakuBoards and stay, but he can be pretty mischievous at times. He may just be putting us all on--or taking things off, as the case may be--so who knows. [a wink] DailyOtaku: How did you react when you first heard about the Flashings? Warlock: At first, I thought they were just jokes. Like I said, Flash has done some pretty crazy stuff, but with their increasing number I'm starting to take them a little more seriously. DailyOtaku: Do you ever wish he would Flash you? Warlock: [pause] No comment. - - - - - - - - - - - - - In the end, then, these Flashings mostly remain a mystery. As has been said, there are rumors about what they could mean, but none have any strong evidence backing them. We do know, however, that they are harmless and no cause for concern, so don't be worried if you and one of your threads is Flashed. If the Final Flasher is indeed returning to OtakuBoards, they can only become more common, so just sit back and "enjoy the view," so to speak.

Well, I learned a couple days ago that my friend finally got Mario & Luigi, so I should be able to use his PIN number and get my own copy of the disc pretty soon. Happiness abounds. ^_^ I have a question about the OOT and MM ports, though. Did they do the button layout the same as they did for the Ocarina of Time bonus disc, where you can use X, Y, and Z for the C button items in addition to using the C stick? I never liked using the C stick for items when I played through Ocarina of Time Master Quest, so I always used the X, Y, and Z buttons instead. Can you still do that?

Ugh, not this again... I was so hoping this subject had died by now. You have no idea how many times I've had to explain this: That short little video clip shown at E3 all those years ago wasn't from an actual game. It was a tech demo made just to show off the GameCube's graphical capabilities. It was a CG movie, nothing more, meaning it really can't be accurately compared to The Wind Waker's graphics. So yeah, it's not like Nintendo was in the middle of making a realistic looking game and then just suddenly decided to switch to the cel shading. They were working on the next Zelda game at that time, sure, but I doubt they had done all that much with the graphics yet. They sure wouldn't have been far along enough for that movie to be actual in-game graphics, at least. Really though, the gameplay in TWW follows the same formula as OOT, so if you liked OOT you'll most likely enjoy TWW. The different graphical style doesn't really change the gameplay all that much. If someone's only reason for not playing TWW is the cel shading I'd say they're really closeminded. So ends Desbreko's 1,473rd rant about TWW's cel shading. :toothy:

Bleh, sorry Dan, I was busy the whole day so I'll have to get that Widescreen TV tomorrow. As for The Legend of Zelda and the other super rare NES games, I believe there are e-Reader cards that let you get them. It was either series 4 or series 5 that had the NES game cards, can't remember. (I'm not sure if there even is a series 5, actually. If there isn't, then it's series 4). I'd assume that the cards that give you the NES games are pretty rare, though. And that's nothing, heh. I have over ten Golden Shovels by now. :p I also have a Golden Rod and Golden Axe, and I'm also going to try and complete my insect collection this year to get a Golden Net. Really, getting a Golden Axe wasn't that hard once I got my town into perfect condition. All I had to do was pick the weeds that grew every day and make sure I never dropped any trash outside of the dump and I was fine.

The DailyOtaku iss.1Saturday, January 3, 2004 Desbreko Abuses Syk3's Master Sword Earlier this week, DailyOtaku recieved shocking details about a major scandal in the OtakuBoards community. According to several key witnesses, Drake Desbreko, the Category Moderator of the Otaku Series section of OtakuBoards, was caught playing with Syk3's Master Sword against the will of its owner. Read on to hear the shocking details of this vile and disgusting yet suprisingly alluring story. According to one witness, Dragon Warrior, a fairly regular visitor of the Art & Design forum, he heard a "strange gasping, moaning noise" coming from one of the locked threads. "I recognized the noise instantly," Dragon Warrior said in a short interview. "It was like what women do when they see me, only there was a sort of pained whining mixed in." Nothing could have prepared him for what came next. Upon prying the locked thread's door open, which seemed to have been quickly and shoddily slapped into place, he came face-to-face with something that "even made me envious," said Dragon Warrior. Another witness, Zidargh, quickly coming onto the scene after a startled yell from Dragon Warrior gasped, "It's huge!" No sooner had the room's fully conscious occupant given a startled shout of surprise than the doorway was packed with spectators, marveling in wonder and cringing in disgust at the same time. There, for all to see, was Desbreko, hunched over Syk3's overly large Master Sword and staring wide-eyed at the multitude before him. Another of the interviewed witnesses, Mimmi, had this to say: "It was like nothing I'd ever seen before--no wonder Mei likes him [Syk3] so much! I guess I can't blame Desbreko for wanting a piece of the action." Various other female witnesses were also said to have uttered similar remarks at the scene, according to those interviewed. Others reportedly just walked away with blank stares. Oddly, it is also rumored that Zidargh was overheard muttering such things as "I want to be sexually molestered now!" and "Be right back, I need to change my top, my nipples are going erect," as he was walking away. It is not known at this time, however, whether these statements were heard and transcribed accurately. Soon, however, James, Charles, and the other Category Moderators arrived to close off the area. Both Desbreko and Syk3 were escorted into the confidential OtakuBoards Moderators forum and were not allowed to be interviewed until much later. While waiting, however, DailyOtaku was fortunate enough to be able to interview Shinmaru, a friend and biatch of both Syk3 and Desbreko. Due to space limitations, the full interview was not able to be published, but you'll find the vital questions and answers still intact. - - - - - - - - - - - - - DailyOtaku: Shinmaru, you're a friend to both of the members involved in this scandal. How do you feel towards Syk3 and Desbreko after what's happened? Shinmaru: I'm shocked and hurt, that's how I feel. The fact is, I'm more than just a friend to Syk3 and Desbreko--I'm a personal biatch to both of them! [a pause, as he collects himself] I just can't believe Desbreko would do such a thing without even a thought for the wellbeing of my nads! DailyOtaku: Do you think you'll still be able to be a friend to Desbreko after this? Shinmaru: I'm...I'm just not sure at this point. I think I'll need to talk to both of them first... And maybe get kicked in the nads by Des. I can tell what he's feeling by his kicks, you know. DailyOtaku: Will your Sammich making skills be impaired at all by this event? Shinmaru: No, they can't be. Not now--Syk3 needs all the support he can get. I'll make him Sammiches until my hands bleed, if I have to! I just...I... [sobs] I have to go now. - - - - - - - - - - - - - After hours of waiting, we were finally allowed an interview with Syk3. However, all he would say was "He touched me..here, and here. [sobs]" We can only guess at the mental trauma he must be going through, but whatever Desbreko did, none now doubt that he wasn't in his right mind when he did it. There are rumors about temporary insanity claims floating about, but James has been keeping a tight lid on the whole affair, and not a single detail has leaked out of the staff forum about Desbreko's condition. Some say he'll be relieved of his moderation duties, while others even go so far as to say he'll be banned. If the rumors of temporary insanity prove to be true, however, it is thought that he may be able to return to his normal moderating duties after extensive therapy and counseling. We were able to catch the Otaku Anime Category Moderator, Shy, for a quick question about Desbreko as he was seen exiting the OtakuBoards Moderators forum, but his only reponse was, "*eats a cookie*" We can now only guess at the future of Desbreko, this once bright and promising member of OtakuBoards. The general consensus among both members and moderators about when we'll get news on Desbreko's condition, however, seems to be, "Wait for version 7."

First off, yes, this should've gone in the Anime Lounge forum. Anime Lounge deals with all threads pertaining to anime, while Otaku Lounge is for everything that doesn't have a specific forum on the board. This thread has to do with anime, therefore it goes in Anime Lounge. Secondly, are you actually taking this seriously? I mean, have you looked at any of the signatures on that petition to ban anime? Almost all of them, ironically, seem to be against the petition. Not to mention, as it has been in more than a few of the signatures, that the person that posted the petition has the e-mail address "." Now, do you really think someone who hates anime would have an e-mail address like that? This whole thing smells of a stupid joke that's gone too far. Third, I don't see this thread generating any real discussion. If left open, it'd probably just result in a bunch of people posting things none too different from most of that petition's signatures. That is, insults directed at the creator of the petition and counter arguments on why anime shouldn't be banned. So, I'm going to close the thread before that happens.
Originally posted by Ooder Ikaruga...'nuff said
No, actually, it really isn't enough. :twitch: You need to actually give reasons about why it's underrated--otherwise the post is just spam. Please provide some if you post in here again.

Hmm, would you mind giving a little more detail in your posts? Your reasons are good, but it'd be nice if you could tell about the battle system and stuff like that. I've always heard Star Ocean is good, but not a whole lot of specific details about it's good qualities. Thanks. ^_^

Yep, it's BowWow. When I first got one, my friends were getting so pissed off at me for using it, lol. They tried to fight back by throwing me off pits and trying to strand me while they ran ahead to take all the chests, but I still came out the victor. :toothy: Answer: You need to collect a minimum of 5,000 Rupees in a dungeon in order to get a Hero Key. Question: In Four Swords, under what circumstances can getting a Black Rupee (which makes a few Red Rupees spill out onto the ground) be good?

I wouldn't mind starting over at all. Really, the most fun I ever had in Animal Crossing was when I first started playing. Exploring everything you could do and finding new items and furniture kept me playing each and every day for about three months. AC had this sort of magical feeling about it; it was like I never knew what I'd find next, or what would happen next. I was always so eager to get done with school so that I could go play AC during the first couple months of owning the game--more eager than I've been with almost any other game. And if starting over with a new Animal Crossing game could rekindle that sort of fun, I definitely wouldn't mind.

I take it you mean the packages that occasionally float around tied to balloons? To get them, let them float into a tree and get stuck (the tree can't have fruit on it), and then shake the tree to make the package drop to the ground. Now just pick it up and open it. Most of the things you get from the packages aren't that good, however, except for the occasional piece of foreign fruit. As for my house, the first floor is a Master Sword shrine. I've got all the house plants, the Bonsai Set, most of the Mossy Garden set, and all of the Rock Garden set. I'll attach the picture of it that I took a while ago. My basement is my lounge area. I've got my NES games down there, along with a widescreen TV, a computer, stereo, couches, bed, wardrobes, all that. I finally got rid of, or stored elsewhere, all those items I was saving, since they were just sitting down there taking up space. My second floor is still under construction, so to speak, though I haven't played the game for quite a while. I'm eventually going to have it set up with the whole 8-bit Mario theme (thanks to the codes in Nintendo Power). Still not sure on how I'm going to arrange everything, but I'll fit it in somehow. I always manage to find a way. ^_^

Can we try to stay at least a little more on topic in the future, please? Rumors about how many more seasons there are going to be would be better discussed in a seperate thread. And Rika&Shugo, please try to add a little more depth to your posts. All of them in this thread have consisted of only three lines or less, which leaves very little room for any amount of detail. Please at least try to improve your post quality for future posts. But anyway, I think this thread has basically run its course. There isn't really anything else to say on the subject, seeing as we've come to a conclusion on the issues presented in the original post, and leaving this open would probably just lead to the pointless repeat of things already stated. Thread Closed

Close. The answer is 1,400. Answer: "That" would be the Sail for the King of Red Lions. Question: What item in Four Swords allows you to steal Rupees from other players?

Well, considering that you're not actually supposed to be able to play online, and the people that made the program that lets you aren't charging for it, no, it doesn't cost anything to play Double Dash online. All you need is a broadband adapter, a network cable, and a PC with Warp Pipe installed on it and you're good to go. And speaking of getting a broadband adapter, I may not be getting one after all. At least not for a while. People just got me PC parts instead of money to get them myself, so I ended up with practically no money left after Christmas.

Yeah, I'm with Semjaza; I don't see what there is to be confused about. I mean, you yourself pretty much just summed up all the recently released or soon to be released FF games spot-on, except for there only being one FFVII sequal and it being a movie. As for not being able to keep up, it's not like all this came up at once. FFXI and FFXII were announced to be in the making since before FFX was released, I believe, which was a good while ago. FFX-2 was more recently announced, as was FFVII: Advent Children, but it's still not like it was all together. And like Semjaza said, FFX-2 and FFXI were the only ones to be released within a short time of one another. Also, FFXII and FFVIIAC aren't even going to be out until at least late 2004, so it's not like you have to worry about them for a while yet. So yeah, I think everything's been explained pretty clearly. Edit: *sees Sage's post* Um, I don't think he was being sarcastic... It really isn't that hard to follow, if you just take a moment to think about it and run things through your mind. Just read through the list Semjaza posted--not that hard. As for the offshoot games, they don't really have much to do with the main series, so I don't see why they'd matter. The only connection between any of the offshoot games and a main series game is FFTA and FFXII, both being set in the same world.

Well, if you just want to get one card for each different Pokemon, that probably wouldn't be all that hard (provided you have the money to spend). Getting one of each unique card, however, would be a whole lot more difficult. They do seem to just keep releasing expansion after expansion. I think they're up to four Ruby/Sapphire sets now, and the games haven't even been out in the US for a full year. Personally, I gave up trying to get every card a long, long time ago. I originally started collecting when only the Base Set and Jungle Set were out. Then they released the Fossil Set, and I thought, "Okay, they've got cards for all 151 Pokemon now; that's it until Gold and Silver are released." Wrong. They came out with the Base Set 2, which was just the Base Set and Jungle Set combined, and I was fine with that. No actual new cards. Then they came out with the Team Rocket Set, and I started getting annoyed. Then they came out with the Gym Leader and Gym Hero sets, and I pretty much just said "Screw this." When they start making multiple cards for the same Pokemon within the same set, I think it's getting a little pointless. That was about the time when I stopped buying the actual cards and just bought Pokemon Trading Card Game for Game Boy. Base Set, Jungle Set, and Fossil Set all available on the one cartridge, you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars to get every card, and you can battle any time you want, regardless of whether or a friend is around. You want another booster pack in the game? Go win a card battle. You want another booster pack of real cards? Drop $3 at a card shop or wherever. I don't know about other people, but I think that second option sounds kind of stupid compared to the first. Anymore, I pretty much just consider the TCG to be a money sucking marketing gimmick. If Nintendo were to release another TCG Game Boy game, I'd buy that, but there's no way I'm spending $3 per booster pack. I don't have that kind of money.

Yes, I'd say The Wind Waker is an extremely good game, and I'm sure many others here would agree with me. I don't think you'll find a better action/adventure game on the GCN, and I think it even beats out Ocarina of Time on the N64. If you liked other Zelda games, you'll almost definitely like The Wind Waker. If you're talking about the Zelda: Collector's Edition disc, yes, it has a demo of The Wind Waker on it, so you could try it out on that to see if you like it. It's a pretty short demo, though, so there's actually a whole lot more to the game than the few little bits you see in it.
-
Gah, I still haven't gotten a Collector's Edition disc yet. I already have a GCN and a couple more years on my NP subscription, so I don't really want to spend the money going for either of those routes... I've already registered my copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! but I don't have enough money for Mario & Luigi. So I've been waiting for a friend to get it, since he was going to let me use his PIN number, but it's been a while and he still hasn't gotten it. So yeah, I'm starting to get really annoyed... Anyone else have a spare PIN number you could send me? ^_^
-
Gah, I was actually thinking of the wrong old lady. The one behind the waterfall gives you info on how to get through the Lost Hills, not info about the Magical Sword. You got it right, though, the Magical Sword it is. Answer: The two items are Blue and Red Water of Life, and they cost 40 and 68 Rupees, respectively. Question: In A Link to the Past, how many Rupees does it cost to max out both the number of Bombs and Arrows you can carry at the Pond of Happiness?
-
Well, I guess I'll list off what I got. I didn't get too many actual packages, but I'm extremely happy with what was in them. 1. VIA computer motherboard 2. Intel Celeron 1.7 GHz CPU 3. 256 MB stick of DDR-SDRAM 4. Nvidia FX 5200 graphics card 5. PC case and power supply And that's it, except for a few stalking stuffers such as a new pair of headphones, some AAA batteries, and a huge bag of Hershey's Kisses. But, like I said, I'm extremely happy with those five things. I can now play pretty much any PC game I want. ^_^
-
Actually, you used a question mark at the end of the sentence. It was therefore a question, and I answered it. Answer: Only for as long as it takes me to see your next smartass post. Question: In the original Legend of Zelda, what is the name of the item that the the old lady behind the waterfall gives you a hint about?

My new year's resolution? Well, I really only have one. That is, beat Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, either on the Collector's Edition disc or my old NES cartridge if I really have to. It's the only Zelda game I haven't beaten yet, and I'd really like to finally play all the way through it. I've been putting it off for a few years now, with the excuses of there being other, newer games that I wanted to play and also the whole issue of dragging out my NES and hoping the battery in the cartridge is still good. With the bonus disc, which I'll hopefully be able to get soon, I won't really have those excuses anymore. And just as a little side-note, I find it a bit ironic that yesterday I sat down and played through most of A Link to the Past on my GBA SP in one sitting. This is my sixth time through the game, combining SNES and GBA version playthroughs, but I have yet to beat The Adventure of Link. :cross:
