You've beaten the Shadow Temple? If you have, Navi should be talking about Gerudo Valley and the Spirit Temple. Are you sure you've done everything in the Bottom of the Well and the Shadow Temple?
-
Eh, close enough. For a Guardian Acorn, you have to defeat 15 enemies in a row without taking damage. For a Piece of Power, you have to defeat 40-45 enemies in a row without taking any damage. Go ahead and ask one... Or do you want to stick with your previous question?

I think if that happened to me (if I weren't homeschooled that is), I'd probably be surprised and then pissed at having to lay on the ground while they search everything. That couldn't have been at all comfortable. But, since I am homeschooled, that means I can have all the drugs I want and never get caught! :hippy: As for my opinion, I don't really think it was wrong. If that's what it takes to stop drug use, so be it. I don't think they really needed to hold them at gunpoint the whole time, but whatever. Like wrist cutter said, if you don't have any drugs, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

Um...you meant "enemies," right? But actually, they don't just appear randomly. Try again. :toothy:

Okay, I decided not to go ahead with the World Pass thread, but I did make another thread to replace this one. (As you've probably noticed, since this one is now unstuck and closed, with the new one in its place). Any FFXI discussion should be moved over from this thread to the new one, as it pretty much just covers everything. Thread Closed

^_^ Question: In Link's Awakening, how do you get Guardian Acorns and Pieces of Power? (As in, how do you make them appear?)
-
Heh, that question (what items appear in every Zelda game?) was actually asked before. I forget exactly which items it was, but they included the sword, shield, keys, and I think a couple other. So if you really want, you could search back a few pages and find the correct answer. Anyway, are you thinking of Gels? Or maybe Buzz Blobs?

Eh, so it puts every enemy to sleep -- if it hits. That means one free hit, and then they wake up. I'd rather have an Alchemist that can turn people into frogs and use other status afflicting spells. They may still be able to hit me as a frog, but they won't be doing more than 2 damage, and I'm going to be doing more damage to them at the same time. And I guess you could just keep using Azoth over and over again to put them back to sleep...but wouldn't that make battles pretty boring? I like at least a little challenge. Last time I fought clan Bloodthirsters, one from a Jagd area, I used five of my weaker characters and one strong one. I only just scraped together a victory (stupid undead monsters kept coming back), but it was one of the funnest battles I had been in for a while. And thanks for the info. One question, though -- can you go back and complete other missions after you beat the game? I'd like to complete all 300 missions, so I don't want to beat it if I won't be able to go back and do the rest of the missions afterwards.

I may be organizing it, but the thing is, since I don't have the game myself yet, I'm organizing it for other people. Although, it seems like not many other people are getting FFXI. You, .h4ack, and Sephiroth are the only ones I know of. So, I dunno... If you don't really care, I think I'm going to get on the Bismark server when I get FFXI. If that trick for recreating characters quickly that I quoted earlier actually works, I don't think there's all that much need for World Passes, really. People could just do that until they get on the server they want. This thing didn't really take off like I thought it would, and it's pretty much just fallen apart. I didn't think World Passes would be that hard to get. I mean, do they really expect people to wait for a friend to save up tons of Gil to get a World Pass before they start a character? I don't think I'm going to bother with the main thread -- not enough people have shown interest in getting the game. I'll just say I'm going to be on the Bismark server when I get it, and anyone else that wants to get on the same server can. Or if I actually know someone else is getting FFXI, I might work it out through PMs or something, but I don't think there's enough demand to warrent a thread devoted to trading World Passes.

I used to jump from the top of all sorts of playground structures. Never got hurt, either. The time I jumped from the roof of a house a few months ago, however, had my feet aching for a few days. Mainly because I landed wrong, though -- should've gone into a crouch on impact, but I didn't, so all the force went straight into my feet and stopped there. I just sort of fell over on my side afterwards, clutching at my feet. :cross: As for childhood memories, hmm... The time I nailed my older brother in the back of the neck with a dirt clod was pretty funny. I'm still surprised that I actually hit him; I got him square on the neck, exactly where I was aiming. I was pretty little, and it must have been about ten feet away. Heh, he was sure pissed after that one. :toothy: ... You know, I can't really think of anything else that's funny. I must have had a pretty boring childhood. Either that or my memory is bad.

Whee, FFTA status update. I'm currently at 110:15 for play time, with 260 missions completed. Marche is level 33, almost level 34, and all my other characters are level 25-26. My clan is level 66, with all stats in the 50s. Yet, after all this, I have not unlocked every job on every race. There is one remaining: the Assasin job for Viera. How the heck do you get it? On one of my Viera I've got all the Fencer abilities, all the Red Mage abilities, two Archer a-abilities, two Sniper a-abilities, and one Elementalist a-ability. What else do I need? Also, I'm kind of stuck, as for the story. I just got the Allmighty antilaw card from Ezel, and now I can't find anything else to do besides dispatch missions. So yeah, I've got the Almighty antilaw, but what do I do with it? Do I have to let Ezel join my clan? I really don't want to give up any of my current characters -- especially to replace one with a character that can't learn any abilities other than the ones he starts with.
"Don?t mess with my body." He said slyly. "There?s more than one place to stick a Master Sword."
Lol, that sounds exactly like something I'd say. I love it. Everyone's dialogue sounds natural and fitting, like things we'd actually say. That, for me, was the most enjoyable part. You've pulled this off wonderfully so far -- keep up the good work. ^_^

Maybe they meant next Monday. :cross: But anyway, should I even bother with the main thread anymore? It doesn't seem like anyone else outside of this thread is getting FFXI, or at least will care about getting on the same server. And I guess the people over on the other message board, or at least most of them, are on the Bismark server. So I don't know if you'd want to start a new character, Zidargh, but I think they'd probably get us a World Pass. Should I see about that? I know I'd like to be able to play with both you guys and them when I finally get FFXI.

Um...we're discussing what would be the best way to introduce people to the games through something else. Obviously the games would be the best to start out with, but for people that aren't into gaming, what would be the best way to get them interested in them? And this is assuming that whatever it is, be it movie, anime, comics, whatever, would be done well, too. Obviously it wouldn't help if it were crappy.

Its name is Dead Hand, but yes, that's correct. Ask away. It's nice that this thread picked up again. Great for keeping Zelda stuff in my memory. ^_^

Well, I'm glad at least one person likes my work enough to comment. But anyway, I just added some more avatars, if anyone cares to look. That Mithra with the white hair is my favorite one -- makes me think of both Cecil's and Crono's hair, heh. I think if I were to play a Mithra, I'd want hair like that.

I take it you mean the Iron Knuckles, for that first one? Yes, that and the Flare Dancers are both correct, but there's one more in addition to those two.

Nope, you don't actually need the Lens of Truth to go into the Shadow Temple. You won't be able to see the fake walls and invisible stuff, but you can try to go through it, heh. The answer is Din's Fire, which you need to light all of the torches that open the door to the Shadow Temple. You get it by going down the "dead end" from the path to Hyrule Castle, bombing the rock, and crawling through the hole into the Great Fairy's Fountain. Once inside, you just need to play Zelda's Lullaby while standing on the Triforce crest. Question: In Ocarina of Time, which mini-bosses do you fight more than once?

It says when it's going to be released on the page that Semjaza linked too -- November 11. Right up at the top of the page, in fact.

Samgee, you're insane. And not in the good way, either. I mean, the huge text size doesn't help, but what's with that dancing Ganondorf gif...and the location...gah... I guess this is a reminder of why I keep that image in my Evil folder. :twitch: But eh, I guess I'll fill this thing out. I wonder how many people actually read other peoples', though, and not just post their own. First Name: Jonathon (Yes, spelled with an O and not an A). Age: 15 Hair Color: Brown -- almost blonde, but not. Eye Color: Grey-green Height: 5'4" Wardrobe: T-shirts (mostly dark blue or white), grey-black flannel overshirt, black sweatshirt, black leather jacket, black jeans, dark blue jean-shorts, white socks, brown steel-toed boots. Personality: Quiet and pessimistic with an ironic sense of humor. Hair Style: Long and tied back in a ponytail. Favorite Music Type: Videogame music and anything else that doesn't suck. Favorite Band/Artist: Koji Kondo (I wonder how many people will know who that is). Hobbies: The Legend of Zelda, videogames, reading, writing, playing the ocarina

Nowhere that I know of does it say that Link isn't full-blooded Hylian... Unless it says it in Zelda II, which I highly doubt. And all of Link's relatives (the two Links that have known relatives anyway) have pointy ears. As Semjaza has shown, Link's uncle from A Link to the Past has pointy ears, and Link's grandma and sister also have pointy ears in The Wind Waker. I have art of all three of them. Also, in the A Link to the Past comics, we also see that Link's mother and father as well as his uncle have pointy ears. (Well, you can't see his father's ears since his hair is in the way, but you can see that his mother has pointy ears). So yeah, there's no evidence for that, either.

AAARGH!!! Why couldn't they have just made it one game? I've already got Double Dash!! reserved, but I won't have enough money for Mario & Luigi or another NP subscription (which I already have through 2005 anyway). At least not until Christmas, but I'd like to use that money for a new PC and FFXI. Hmm...if anyone's getting more than two of those games, could I use the third PIN number? Please? I'm desperate here...

I think he means the Cane of Byrna, not the Ice Rod. If so, it's still not that hard to get if you know where to look. First, go up on Death Mountain, to the warp portal just below the Mountain Tower. Warp to the Dark World, and then walk down to the cliff edge. There'll be a gap in the wall -- jump down. You'll land on a small ledge with a cave on it. Inside the cave, you'll need the Magic Hammer to pound down some stakes, but you should already have it if you've got the Cane of Somaria. Beyond the stakes is a long path of spikes, so make sure you've got the Magic Cape and a full Magic Meter or lots of life/potions. (And either way, be sure to dash down the center of the path using the Pegasus Shoes -- there are torches lining the sides, so be sure you're in the center before dashing). At the end of the path, there'll big a big block that you have to lift up, and then a treasure chest with the Cane of Byrna in it. There'll also be eight pots, each with a heart inside. Hope this helps.

Semjaza's right; he's just making up rumors. I mean, if he thinks the Link in TWW is the same Link as in OOT, I wouldn't believe anything else he says. It clearly states in TWW that Link is not related to the first Link in OOT. (The King of Red Lions says it when you first meet Jabun).

This happens to me a lot, too. I don't know why it happens either, though. I have OtakuBoards set to use cookies, and I have Mozilla set to accept all cookies, so I dunno. I'm hoping it'll clear up after the upgrade to version 7. But if this is happening to you too, I'd recommend writing your posts in something like Notepad and then copying them into OtakuBoards when you want to post. This way you won't run the risk of losing your post if you end up having to log in again. That's what I've been doing for most posts that are very long.
