Come on, am I the only one here who likes the DK Rap? Put your hands together If you want to clap As we take you through This monkey rap "There's also a mic built in to pick up clapping." Yeah, I can guess what song that's gonna be used for. :p Personally, though, music games have never seemed that interesting to me, so I probably won't end up playing this much, if at all. Though I may have to try it out just for the DK Rap. I mean, really, how can you not like a rap about monkies? It's the only good rap song I've ever heard. :toothy:

That, and you get to pick the game you get with the system now. Also, I've been seeing a few of the games that were in the bundle pack selling for less than $50 now. (I've seen MP4, SFA, and MP going for $30). So it really is a better deal, just not that much better. And yeah, I'd say quadrupling their sales isn't bad at all. One of Nintendo's themes has always seemed to be affordability, and it seems to be paying off.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about, for your White Mage. Don't bother having her learn Red Mage abilities if you don't have to. You'd be better off having a White Mage with Summoner abilities, or a Summoner with White Mage abilities. If she's a Red Mage with Summoner abilities, she'll only be able to use the weak white/black spells along with the summons. If she's a White Mage, she'll be able to use all of the white magic you've learned along with the summons. Probably the only white magic that you've learned on her that you'll be able to use with the red magic command is Cure. Everything else you'll have to use the white magic command for, and if you want summons, you're going to have to give up either the white or red magic command. So you see what I mean? A Red Mage can't learn every black magic and every white magic spell, they can only learn the weak spells from each. And since you'll have strong summons for attacking, you won't need the weak black magic. So you should go for strong white magic instead of weak white magic and weak black magic. And as for Mog Knights, I really haven't found them very useful; I can usually do more damage with my Moogles when they're Gunners. Plus, Gunners have long range attacks and lots of abilities that cause status effects. Mog Knights seem to just be a Moogle version of the Fighter class, except that since they're Moogles, they're weaker. I find Gunners to be the most useful class that Moogles can have, with Jugglers second, though I haven't really tried out the Gadgeteer class. (Also, it's cool if they can have some black magic spells as secondary abilities). I love standing back with a Gunner and inflicting a bunch of status effects on my enemies while doing damage at the same time. Same thing with Jugglers, only they have to be closer. Dagger has got to be my favorite Juggler abilities, since it both damages and disables the enemy. And I'm absolutely loving the Double Sword ability on Marche right now. Nikolai finally mastered it, so I switched Marche to a Ninja and now he's learning it. He usually does about 175 damage with both hits--I can't wait to see how much he does when he masters the ability and I switch him back to a fighter with it. Before as a Fighter, he was doing upwards of 100 damage with a single normal hit, and 150-175 with the Doublehand ability. (Now, if only he had four arms so he could use both Double Sword and Doublehand). :whoops: Also, I'd like to say that the Counter ability can be better than Bonecrusher. My evade on Marche right now, as a Ninja, is 69, so things don't hit him very often at all when they attack from the front. Even when attacking from the side or back, there's still a decent chance that they'll miss. And if you're using Bonecrusher and the enemy misses, you don't counterattack; with Counter, you counterattack even if they miss. If I had kept him using the Bonecrusher ability, I would've done a lot fewer counterattacks over the time that he's been a Ninja. So don't use Bonecrusher just because it does more damage--you should also look at that character's evade stat, and see if they're going to be dodging a lot. If so, Counter will probably be the better choice over Bonecrusher. Edit: Hey, guess what I got in FFTA today... Yep, a Sword Breaker! (And sure enough, it teaches Steal: Weapon). I got it for doing mission No. 102 Wyrms Awaken, which is a clan mission where you have to go out and fight another clan in order to get them to help you. So there you go, that's at least one way you can get a Sword Breaker. ^_^

Cool. *commits the names to memory again* Question: In FFIV, what are three kinds of weapons that Cecil can use as a Paladin?
-
Yeah, I know the Rat Tail was used it getting the Excalibur, I just thought that maybe you got another one for the Adamant Armor. Anyway, for some reason, I'm thinking the name of the tail is the Pink Tail. I have no idea if that's right, it just came to mind. And I still can't remember the name of the monster. >_
-
You can actually tell what that symbol is, just from the little bit you can see around his eye? Either you've got a good memory, or you're wrong, heh. Anyway, because I obviously know this since I specified Breko's appearance (yes, that's his name) for Ginny (who drew him), I won't answer. At least not yet, anyway; I'll wait a bit to see if anyone else can get it.

I'm not sure, but I don't think Media Player will work. Do you have QuickTime? If not, try getting it and installing the plugin for your browser.

It probably has to do with how much you compress the image when you save it as a jpg. Sometimes it's pretty much impossible to get the text to not be all blurry when you save it as a jpg, even when you set it to compress the image as little as possible. You might try saving it as a gif if that happens. I like the banner, though, even without text. For only having those two images to work with, you put them together pretty well. Also, I don't think the banner really needs any text. I think a caption would do just fine, if you're going to use it in your signature. Maybe something like this: __________________ Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

I merged your thread with the other CC help thread. Please look to see if there's already a thread on the same subject before creating a new one. As for your question, the main hall that the Prophet is talking about is the one you went through to get to the library (where he is). From the library, just go out the door and across the walkway. When you get back into the building, that's the hall he's talking about. From here, go up through the hallway, and you'll see some pillars off to either side. If you go behind the second to last one on the left and push the X button, the platform at the end of the hall will lower, giving you access to the second floor.

Right, I'll close this, then. Mainly because there's already another FFX-2 thread that you could have posted this in, however. You don't need a whole new thread to ask a single question about a game. :cross: Thread Closed
Originally posted by Razzamataz actually for a nu mou illusionist you need to master 3 white mage abilities and 5 black mage abilities, levels have nthing to do with it this time around. (sadly) question: whats the name Ares zodiac monster. (Final Fantasy Tactics)
I'm pretty sure that's what he meant. I don't think he meant experience levels, but the number of abilities mastered from that job. As for how to get Adamant Armor in FFIV, I know you need to get a Rat Tail (I think that's what it's called--some kind of tail), and take it to that mine near... Gah, can't remember the name of the village. It's that one on the little tiny island, where you can buy silver equipment. Anyway, if you go to the mine you can trade the Rat Tail for some Adamant. Then you take the Adamant to the smith in the underworld, and he'll forge some Adamant Armor for you. I forget which enemy you get the tail from, but I'm pretty sure it's one of them that you fight on surface of the moon or in the Luner Path caves. Bleh, I've forgotten too much about FFIV; I really need to replay it. I know there's a lot missing, but will you accept that?

Well, he did say the name of the command in some of his answers... And yes, the King Dodongo and Volvagia fights are correct, whadubba. Ask a question. :)

Jigglypuff's Sing/Rest (up+B/down+B) combo was a lot better in the original SSB. There, Sing would actually put people to sleep long enough for you to finish the move and use Rest on them. In SSBM, it seems like they always wake up just as, or sometimes even before, you finish the Sing move. Though really, I wouldn't consider that combo to be very cheap anyway. If you miss with Sing, you're going to be hit with either a long range or air attack. It's not like it's an automatic hit or anything. If you want to see something cheap, try playing as Samus in the original SSB and constantly use the Screw Attack (up+B). That is cheap, as it can break through almost every other attack in the game. Oh, yeah, just remembered something; there is an extremely cheap character in SSBM...but only when he's a CPU player. Luigi is that character, and I swear the game cheats for him when he's a level 9 CPU. There've been times (meaning more than once) that he's been on the edge of a level like Pokémon Stadium, where the point that you get KOed isn't all that far off from the edge of the platform, with around 150%. I hit him with a side smash attack towards the close edge (while I'm playing on Link or Samus), and he doesn't get knocked off. And not only does he not get KOed off the side, but he manages to jump back to the platform with distance to spare. Never have I seen anyone else get knocked away that fast, that close to the edge, and not get KOed. Ever.

Well, I don't remember anything about the Burnt Tower, so I can't help you with that. With Lugia, though, I'm pretty sure you can get to him from any of the entrances to the Whirl Islands. So there isn't just one cave that you go through, you have to find the right way through all of the Whirl Island caves. I do know that he's on the lowest level of the caves, however, so you'll want to be heading down as much as you can. I also remember that when you get to the lowest level, you're on this little bit of ground with water on either side. If you Surf on the water and head up, you'll come to a little doorway thing. Through it is a little room with a pool of water where you'll find Lugia.
Originally posted by Mia_Hieis_gurl lol ur right just as long as he a kid theyed go togather... um ya i guess malon and link would go good cause zelda probably not very into getting into big monsterous fights and malon works on a farm and has a bow, and in majoras mask she fighs aliens or things that try to obduct her cows. anyway it shows link left her to find his place in life or something and so hes probably forgetten abou her by now... oh well... srry princess...lol
You're talking about Romani there, not Malon. Malon is only in Ocarina of Time and Oracle of Seasons. Romani is a different character from Majora's Mask, they just reused the same character model from OOT. (Like they did for the majority of the characters in MM). If you really look at the dialogue for each of them, there's a good amount of difference.

Answer: She dreamt that dark clouds covered the land, plunging everything into darkness. Then a ray of light shone out from the forest, parting the clouds and bringing light to the land once again. Question: In Ocarina of Time, which boss fights (not including the Ganondorf/Ganon fights) feature music different than that of the first boss fight with Gohma?
-
Well, this looks, and probably will be, very cool, but I most likely won't be getting one. Why? Because me and my friends already have Link Cables, and in all the times we've played, distance has never really been an issue. That, and all of us would have to get one in order to use it. Personally, I'd rather put the money towards another game, and they probably would too. I'll wait for the next generation Game Boy system for wireless play beyond my WaveBird GCN controller.

Well, when you go to the Monster Bank after capturing a monster, you can use items and stuff on it to make it stronger. I think that however strong the monster is, that's how strong a Morpher will be when he transforms into that particular monster. Not sure about that, however, since I haven't tried it. And I dunno. If they do, maybe that's where their Bad Breath comes from. :p

I recently played through Chrono Cross, and I have to say, it's an excellent RPG. It really grabbed my interest and held it till the end, though not enough to play through multiple times to get different endings. As has been said, however, the story will probably make a lot more sense if you've played Chrono Trigger, which is on the SNES, before Chrono Cross. It really expands on Chrono Trigger's story, while at the same time remaining fresh and interesting. I also really enjoyed the battle system; it's unlike anything else I'd ever seen. Oh, and if you look in the Chrono Trigger thread that's a bit farther down the thread list, you'll find more info on Chrono Cross and peoples' opinions on how it compares to Chrono Trigger.

It's Link's Awakening. And you can see underwater when you dive in certain places, such as the boss fight of Level 4: Angler's Cave. It switches to that side-scrolling view... Though really, I don't see how being able to see underwater would make a difference. So yeah, Link's Awakening is correct. :)

Personally, there's only one person I'd use the bold thing on (could it be you? ;)), and I don't care if people would use it for my name in their lists, so I don't care either way. Member list and a little alert for when someone updates their page would be very handy indeed. If you look, there's a lot of space to the right of the friend list in the back room, so I don't think it's going to get cluttered. I do have another suggestion, though; that is, an option for using only HTML in Otaku Life and comment posts. As it is, I have to have all the HTML on a single line, since myOtaku interprets both hitting the enter key and the and tags as line breaks. Makes it annoying when I'm trying to do updates and stuff to my introduction, since I have to wade through all the HTML to find the bits I want to change. It'd be much easier if I could have things on different lines and just use the and tags.

I don't think any of the characters are especially cheap. From my experience, the game is so well balanced that you can win on any character, against any character, if you play your character right. Items, however, I find to be very cheap in some situations. Mainly the recovery items, like Maxim Tomatoes and Heart Containers. If you happen to get a few really good items dropped on you, it can really give you an edge. (Though at least they toned down the Hammer in SSBM; you can actually put up a fight against it without having to come from below or use Kirby's brick down+B).

Ah, I see. Well, I would've just taught my Bangaa Bonecrusher, since I already had four Warrior abilities learned, but I only have one item that teaches it. And it's currently in use, teaching it to another character, so I figured I'd just go ahead and learn Counter, Air Render, and Whirlwind while I'm waiting. Also, that opened up the rest of the jobs for him, so now I can switch freely. Right now I have him back as a Dragoon, since he learned those three abilities. To put monsters into the Monster Bank, you have to use the Capture ability that Hunters learn, to capture weakened monsters. So far, the only monster I've captured is one of those purple Malboros. And yeah, the Flan was about the same level as me. It started out with about 65 HP, I think. After I got it down to about 30 HP, I had regained enough MP on one of my Bangaas to use Downsize, which hits for half of an enemy's current HP, so that speeded the fight up a little. If it hadn't been a hard mission, I would've just hit reset. As for a battle with laws against fighting and color magic, that wouldn't be all that bad. I could just use Fighter Techs and whatnot instead of the fight command, and Sagacity and Phantasm abilities for magic. Not to mention that I have two antilaw cards for Color Magic, plus R1, R2, and R3 antilaw cards. :toothy:

I didn't say Red Mages are almost useless, I just said you'll want one with good attack power. I have a Red Mage (that started as an Archer then switched to Fencer) with red magic and lunge techs, and I find her very useful. Barrier is a very handy spell--it casts both Protect and Shell at the same time. The attack spells are nice for when I'm not close enough for a lunge tech. As for Air Render, it's a lot like using the fight command, just from long range. (It almost always does the same amount as a normal hit when I use it, except on Marche). Far Fist has an area effect, but I've found it's usually also weaker than a normal hit or Air Render. I only use Far Fist if I'm not close enough to use fight or Air Render, or if I can hit multiple enemies with it. And yeah, if you have something that'll teach Bonecrusher, that's usually better than Counter. But you can't start off as a Templar, unless the character starts as one one he joins, so it's useful to have Counter before you can learn Bonecrusher. And also, Counter works whether or not the enemy hits or misses, with any sort of attack (as long as they're in range). Bonecrusher only works if you actually get hit with a weapon. Myself, I've got two main Nu Mou. Clay knows all the white magic abilities I can learn so far, plus most of the black magic ones, plus a few Beastmaster ones, and he's now working on Sage abilities. (I love Bio; more powerful than Water or Aero, and it also poisons the enemy). Frantz knows/is learning all but one of the black magic spells I can learn so far, most of the white magic, and he also knows all of the Illusionist abilities I've got. Plus, Clay knows Turbo MP and Frantz knows Magic Pow+. Extremely nasty in a fight. :demon: Heh, that's nothing; one time I forgot to use a character with some sort of attack magic in a battle, and there was a Flan in the enemy ranks. Luckily, I had an Archer with the Aim: Arm ability, so I just kept using that and it couldn't attack me, but it took almost an hour to win since I was only doing 1 damage per hit. Got a ton of experience from the fight, though. :cross:
Originally posted by Sephiroth Guy's please, not this argument again, lol, FF7's ending has been argued to death here on OB, one more argument and I might bang my head against the wall repeatedly!
Only might? I have. :cross: But yes, if you want to debate about FFVII's ending, there's other threads to post in, such as the plotholes/theories thread, or you can use PMs. This thread is for talking about the FFVII movie, not the FFVII game. I have to say, this really caught me off guard. I never expected Square to do another movie, let alone an FFVII one. Still, it looks cool. Though of course, The Spirits Within also looked cool, but like James said, it wasn't all that great. They had better do a good job on this, though. It has a lot to live up to. And Cloud's hair does look good, but the big spike in the front doesn't look big enough to me. In the official art from the game, it looks a lot bigger. Though really, I'm not sure if I'd like it more if the spike were bigger. That might look a little funny, heh.
