Originally posted by King_Cloud690 I personally think that the GC FF will SUCK! Its stupid that they came out wit another FF on the suckiest new system! Since its the only system with the FF series!(was)
Um, if you haven't noticed, this is a thread about FFX-2... Which is on the PS2. FF Crystal Chronicles is the new GCN FF game. So yeah, you're in the wrong thread. And if you're going to make claims about things sucking, you'd better have some decent reasons. Otherwise people are going to totally shoot your arguments out of the sky, as I'm tempted to do. Fanboys aren't exactly looked kindly upon here...

White Knight? Do you mean Paladin? I'm also just guessing, since I don't actually remember it from the game, though. :cross:

Nope, that's not it. Bleh, I'll just tell the other way and ask another question. The second way you can get medecine is by finding it in treasure chests in a couple of the later dungeons. You can find some in Level 8 I know, and I think there's one other dungeon. Possibly Level 6, but I'm not sure. Question: In which Zelda games does Ganondorf/Ganon use a weapon or weapons?
@_@ It brainwashed me..
Heheh, that's why I'm here; to catch people on that sort of stuff. Can't let the...um... How to put this without using vulgar terms... Ah, here we go. Can't let the insecure little punks win, now can I? :toothy:
But with the cheezy graphics of LoZ on NES, how could something look realistic in comparison to something cartoony on such a low graphic level..? Given the fact that Zelda has always been graphically at the top of the line, but still..
Well, go look at something like Contra and then look at The Legend of Zelda. See what I mean? Contra has more realistic characters and environments, while Zelda was done in a more cartoony, fantasy style of graphics. You don't need very complex graphics to have different styles. The "realistic" games like Contra may not actually look too realistic, but they're moreso than Zelda.
Here you got me by the multiple meanings of the word mature..
Yeah, I figured you might mean it in that sense, but I like to point that out whenever I can. (Again, I really despise the opinion that TWW is only meant for "kiddies"). Personally, I think using the word "older" would be more appropriate in that context. "A lot of the older players complained..." Makes it clearer that way. Though you do have to remember that age seems to have less and less influence on how mature people are anymore.
*clap clap clap* Well said, sire.
*takes a bow*

Using the same setup as in my earlier post, the three Small Keys of the dungeon are located in rooms 1-B, 6-B, and 3-G. The 1-B key is the room with the four blocks arranged in a ·..· pattern with the crystals all around, if you haven't gotten that one yet. I think you need to destroy the crystals and push the blocks into either a square or straight line to get the key.

I've been trying to buy all the preset machines before making a custom one. I've gotten a little under half I think, plus I've been spending a lot of tickets on the story mode chapters. I've done five of the nine chapters so far, and I need to save up some more tickets to get the sixth. Oh, and speaking of Star Fox, take a look at the pilot of the Little Wyvern. His name is James McCloud... Ring any bells, heh? He even looks like James McCloud from Star Fox, from the hair to the headset. I thought that little cameo was amusing. So far I've been doing the best with Deepclaw, piloted by Octoman. He's got a good balance of all three attributes, and his ship is fairly light so you still get decent acceleration with the max speed cranked up. And his answer to the "What was the key to your victory?" question at the end of a Grand Prix is amusing. "I have more arms," lol. :whoops: Has anyone else unlocked the Diamond Cup yet? I did on Friday, and dang is it cool! Dragon Jumps or whatever it's called and Fire Field: Undulation are two of my favorite tracks in the game. And Phantom Road: Slim-Line Slits is just evil! You get so bashed up on that track in Grand Prix mode, even on Novice class, it's not even funny. Definitely the hardest track in the game, at least for me.

Heh, yeah, those rooms puzzled me for a good while too. What they are, are the miniboss rooms. You fight the miniboss of Level 5, a giant Stalfos Knight, four times. Each time will be in one of those rooms with the skull pattern on the floor, and the number of blocks in the corners tell you which time you'll fight him in that particular room. So if there's three blocks, you'll fight him for the third time in that room. Two blocks, the second time, and so on. So basically, if you find a room with one block, you'll find him. Then if you've already been to the room with two blocks, you'd go there to fight him again, and then on to the three-block room, then the four-block room to beat him for good. Room with four blocks and seaweed? ... Do you mean those crystal-looking things that shatter when you hit them with your sword? I think I know the room you're talking about. Is it right before the four-block skull room? If so, it's not really related, it's just the room before the last miniboss room. Just look for the one-block miniboss room for now.

Yeah, I've never actually played a strategy RPG type game before, so I really don't have anything else to base my opinion off of. I've decided I'm definitely getting this game when it comes out, after reading more about it in the latest issue of Nintendo Power, though. (I should have just enough money by the time it comes out). I skimmed their walkthrough article enough to get more info about the game in general, but not really enough to know what to do, where to go, and such. Looks like it's going to be a very cool and very long lasting game.
Originally posted by OtakuSennen Now, I'm not saying that the two groups can't cross over, but that's just what demographics the developers had in mind while creating the game.
You must not know very much about TWW. ;) Miyamoto and others have said time and time again that they created TWW for people of all ages. It was not made with younger kids in mind. So many people assume that because of the cartoony graphics, and it's just not true. I mean, really, the original Zelda had cartoony graphics compared to other NES games of its time, yet it wasn't considered a kids' game. Heck, it was dang hard. Probably very, very few little kids would be able to beat the first quest, let alone the second. And when you say that it was a lot of the mature gamers that complained about the cel shaded style, you've got it backwards. It was the immature people that complained. The actual mature people appreciated the style for its complexity and how it went back to the games' graphical roots by being cartoony. Not to mention that, if it came down to it, they'd be able to look past the graphics at how the game actually played even if they didn't like the style. I mean, really, if you base your whole opinion of a game off of its graphics, that's not exactly a mature opinion. But anyway, about SCII, I don't think it's going to change Link's image. He's already had both the cartoony and realistic look before, so another game in which he's realistic isn't going to change anything. We'll probably see people saying that that's how he should have looked in TWW, but we've already gotten tons of that because of that old Spaceworld trailer. So yeah, this is nothing new, just more of the same.

Well, if you take the map of the dungeon and put the rooms on a grid with 1-7 from top to bottom and A-F from left to right, there are keys in the following rooms: 3-C, 3-D, 7-D, 2-F, 4-F Can't really give you any more help without knowing which ones you've already gotten.

I said two ways, not two costs. One of them is buying it from Crazy Tracy, but there's also another way to get medecine. Try again. ^_^

Hmm, so does the runner-up get a consolation post? If not, too bad. :p ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cecil stood up as Auron stepped back from the microphone. He extended his arm and the two shook hands, the same old grin on their faces, only this time... This time there was a hint of regret. Regret at the competition being over. "Congratulations," Cecil said as they shook. "You deserve it." "You didn't do so bad yourself." Cecil chuckled. "Yeah, and I suppose I don't really need another island or more money anyway." Auron raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean by that?" Cecil grinned again. "You know how, back in Besaid, I said I had a title that would be a lot more annoying than 'Sir'?" Auron nodded, still puzzled, as Cecil continued. "Well, let's just say this game was fit for a king," he finished with a wink. Eyebrows shot up all around the lounge of the Ragnarok before Auron finally replied, the grin returning to his face. "I can see what you mean...Your Majesty." "Ha ha, yes, I can just imagine what Zell would have been capable of with that knowledge." "Hey!" Cecil chuckled again, and Auron asked, "So what are you king of?" "The Nation of Baron. After I and my friends defeated Zeromus, me and Rosa got married and I became the new king. I had to save the world in the process, but I went from Dark Knight to Paladin king." "You're right, then; you don't need the money or island. And you've already got a good title, Your Majesty." "It's too bad you're not from my world. I'd make you bow before me," Cecil said with a smirk. "I don't have to be from Baron to bow," Auron said with yet another grin, and bowed. "Yes, very funny. This is why I didn't say anything until now, at the very end." Cecil glanced over at Cid. "So what happens now?" "The competition's over, so it's time for you guys to get the #%&$ off my airship and go home." Cecil raised an eyebrow. "Touché." "Heheh, nah, I'll give each of you a lift back to your own world. So hold on to your drawers and don't piss in 'em." And with that, Cid sat down in the pilot's chair and blasted off into the dimensional warp. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- The End

From my myOtaku page: Well, I looked at the ads again, and F-Zero GX did come out today, not yesterday. So I'm glad I didn't try and pick it up yesterday, heh. Would've been a wasted trip. I finally got it today, though, after waiting about 3/4 of a year for its release. So what do I think about it? Well, let's just say it made me go "woah." Multiple times. And for various different reasons. And I actually did the O_O look while I said it, except that my mouth was hanging open. So yeah, it's definitely lived up to all my expectations so far. The play control, while at first I thought it seemed a little too finicky, is fast becoming second nature. And, like I had hoped, they kept the drift control for the R and L buttons the same as Maximum Velocity on the GBA. If you just push in one of the buttons, you drift to the side while staying pointed in the same direction, instead of it turning you to the side like in F-Zero X. And, what's more, you can still do the drift turns that the F-Zero X style allowed. To do those, you just hold in both the R and the L buttons and you'll drift around turns. Very nice; it's like getting the best of both worlds. Of course, the first thing I noticed about F-Zero GX was the awesome speed of the game. Never before have I seen a racing game go this fast! At first I was just trying to keep up with what was going on, and that was on the easy tracks with barely any sharp turns. You really have to concentrate on the later tracks... And this was just on the easiest difficulty! I can't imagine what Expert mode is like. Also, another thing I found cool, was that after I stopped playing I realized my heart was pounding and it felt like I had just been hiking a little ways up a steep hill. I'm not kidding, either; it got my adrenalin pumping. Even in practice mode it can get pretty intense, just trying to stay on the track on some courses. The story mode also looks like it's going to be extrmely fun. I've only done the first two missions so far, and while the first wasn't that interesting (a training mission), the second was a lot of fun. It's a race against Samurai Goroh, pilot of the Fire Stingray, along a cliff edge while large boulders roll down the hill. Very fun trying to dodge the boulders while taking the turns as sharp as you can (because you really need to if you want to win) and trying to find good places to use your boost. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this game so far. A definite buy for anyone that likes racing games. So what do other people think, then?

I know one of them is the Intangir, but I'm not sure about the other. Does it appear in the World of Balance or the World of Ruin?

Well, Ginny just couldn't figure it out. On one hand she wanted Auron, and on the other hand, she wanted me. Of course, this made me a bit jealous at first, until I realized this unique solution to the problem. Unique Solution That's right, it's me with Auron's body! How can you beat that, eh? Well, I don't know, and I don't think Ginny knows, either. Just look at her, swooning over "us" like nobody's business. Well, I've gotta go. Ginny waits for no man... Or men, you might say. *runs off together with Ginny* Original Sketch

Um, you must not have looked very hard then. There was a thread right on the first page. I've merged yours with it, now. As for having to pay more for the PS2 version, that's not exactly true. Unless the game itself costs more on the PS2, you're not paying any more for it on the PS2 than the PC. I mean, it's not like FFXI is/will be the only game that uses the network adapter and hard drive (which is also required). And if you've already got the network adapter, you don't have to buy that. And really, when you buy a PC, what do you think you're paying for? The hard drive and modem are included in the cost, so it's not like you get them free or anything. PCs just happen to come with built-in hard drives and modems, while PS2s do not. PCs are also more expensive than PS2s. Go figure. And if you really want to get nit-picky, it's pretty much definitely going to cost you less to get a new PS2, hard drive, network adapter, and even a keyboard for it, than it would to get a new, good PC that can run FFXI. So actually, I consider it unfair that PS2 owners get off so cheap. I'm going to have to upgrade my entire system if I want to be able to play FFXI. PS2 owners just have to buy a modem and hard drive. :p And another thing; Final Fantasy hasn't always been on the PlayStation/2. It was originally on the NES, then SNES, then the PSX and PC. There were PC versions of both FFVII and FFVIII, though they were released a little while after the PSX versions. Sorry about the rant, heh; been having computer trouble lately. I don't mean to sound condescending, but I think it may have come out that way a little, so if it did, sorry.

Art I know you waited a long time for this, Braidless Baka
Desbreko replied to GinnyLyn's topic in Creative Works
Very cool...but you still need to do Cemyth. :toothy: But yeah, very nice job, as everyone else has said. The shading on the hair/flames is awesome. I wish I could do that. Heck, I wish I could get any shading to look halfway decent. :cross: Edit: Yeah, it better be coming. *gives a mock-threatening look* :naughty: -
Fine, I'll ask a different question. Hopefully some will at least be able to answer a question from FFVI. Question: In Final Fantasy VI, how can you learn the spell Ultima if you choose to get the Ragnarok as a sword instead of a magicite? (And yes, it's possible, I've done it).

Yep, it's the original Legend of Zelda. Ask away. Edit: Um, are you going to ask a question, or shall I just ask another one? It's been a couple days... Edit II: Right, I'm just asking another question, then. Question: What are the two ways you can get medecine in Link's Awakening?

*wades through confusing posts* Agh, they're pulling me under! Help, it's got my leg, I can't-- *glomp* x_X But anyway, yes, Level 4: Angler's Cave is the next dungeon you'll be heading for, which is behind the big waterfall at the base of the Tal Tal Heights. You'll need the Angler Key to get into it, though. If you need help finding the key, just ask.

The text is the official SMA4: SMB3 logo, so I'd hope it fits well, heh. (Well, except that the SMA4 part is technically supposed to be above the SMB3 part, but it doesn't fit in the banner that way). And I might take out the SMA4 part, exacept that I've got this overwhelming urge to keep the complete logo.... You know, to keep things "correct," heh. ^_^; That and I just think the left side looks a little too empty without it, since there's that big open space below the SMB3 logo.
-
Yeah, I know. I think they should have just kept the original titles, instead of adding "Super Mario Advance" to them. I guess they want to advertise that they're on the GBA or something. Anyway, like I said in the edit, I fixed the white edge. So you people can't complain about that anymore. :p Hmm, I've got a pic of Mario in a Frog Suit, but I haven't been able to find one of him in one of those shoes. (Bah, I can't remember how to spell the name of those shoes for the life of me). If I can get some art of that I'll have to make another banner with it, though. It and him in the three suits.

Cid turned to Cecil. "Well, get on with it." He glanced at Auron for a moment. "And please make it easier to understand." "Hmph." "Right, why do I deserve to win?" Cecil looked thoughtful for a moment. "Yes, that's what I asked." Cecil then looked over at Cid, a quizzical look on his face. "It was a rhetorical question, used for effect, and not meant to be answered. But anyway, like Auron was saying, I think we're both worthy of winning this thing. We've both performed up to and beyond our limits while competing, so I really couldn't give you any real reason why I should win." Cid stared at him for a moment. "So basically, what you're saying is, 'I don't know'?" "What I'm saying, is that I don't think either of us really deserve to win any more than the other. And because of that, when it comes down to it, personal bias is going to choose the winner. Neither of us did better than the other, so people are basically just left to choose their favorite." Zell couldn't help himself. "I think someone is just bitter about Auron getting most of the votes." Cecil glared. "Quiet, you."
