Well, you didn't actually need to list where each monster is. I was just asking how you get it. But yes, that is correct.
Originally posted by wrist cutter No, my school does not have uniforms but I wish they did. It'd make shopping for clothes so much easier. I HATE shopping for clothes. I'll do your clothes shopping for you if you let me kick you in the crotch each time I do it. :p Anyway, I'm homeschooled, so no, no uniforms. In fact, some days I won't even change out of my night clothes (boxers and light t-shirt) until after I get done with my school work. It's great; complete lazyness in regard to clothes. :toothy: I don't get all this about making it so you don't have to decide what to wear each day, though. I mean, is it really that hard to decide what to wear? For me, I get up, I toss on some shorts/jeans and a t-shirt, maybe a hawaiian shirt/flannel shirt/sweatshirt over the t-shirt (these are depending on how hot/cold it is), my steel-toed boots, and that's it. I have a few different colors of t-shirts, but I mainly just seperate them into "light," "grey-ish," and "dark" piles in my drawer, and I usually just grab one at random. It's not that hard, lol.

Bleh, forgot all about this. About time I answered, if no one else is. ^_^; And by the way, I updated the scoreboards recently, if anyone's interested. Answer: Light Ring L-2 - Lets you shoot Sword Beams with up to three hearts less than full health. (This one is so dang useful). Blue Ring - Makes you take half damage. Red Ring - Makes you do twice as much damage with your sword. Green Ring - Makes you do more damage with your sword, and makes enemies not take as many hits Octo Ring - Makes you look like an Octorok. (I love this one, heh. It's just too bad they didn't let you spit rocks to attack). Question: In Oracle of Seasons, how do you get the Red Ring?

You know, I could've sworn I had already changed the title to also cover Ages... *changes it* Okay, to repair the cracked Tuni Nut, you'll need to take it to Patch at the top of Restoration Wall, like Lady Asphy said. Before you can get to the wall, however, you'll need the Tune of Currents. So, go down the western stairs from Symmetry Village in the past, and walk one screen to the west. You'll see another set of stairs leading back up. Go up them and keep heading north up another set of stairs until you come to some water. Up in the northeast corner of the screen, you'll see one square of deep water. Dive into it to get to Tokkey's house. (Not to be confused with the creatures on Crescent Island, which are called Tokays). Talk to him and then play the Harp of Ages for him, and he'll teach you the Tune of Currents. This song allows you to warp from past to present no matter where you are. Still in the past, walk back down the two sets of stairs you just went up, and then continue heading west at the bottom of the second set of stairs. Cross a small stream at the base of a waterfall, and you'll see an owl statue and a place to open a time portal. Ignore the time portal spot and play the Tune of Currents while standing in the southwest corner of the screen to warp to the present time. As you can see, there are some stones that would've blocked your path if you had used the time portal. With the Tune of Current, however, you were able to bypass them easily. From here, head south as far as you can until you can go south no farther. Instead, head one screen to the east, and you'll see some vines growing up a wall, with another spot where vines can grow though there are none. Ignore the vines for now and just head north up the stairs in between the vine spots. Lift up the rock with the Power Bracelet to reveal a time portal spot, use it to warp back to the past via the Tune of Echoes, and then walk back down the stairs. As you can see, in the past the vines haven't had time to grow. There is, however, a large bulb at the base of the left vine spot. Push it over so that it's under the right vine spot before walking back up the stairs. Now, don't bother warping back to the present and climbing the vines. If you do, you'll find your path is blocked by boulders and gaping pits in the ground, and you'll have no choice but to return to the past. Instead, go into the cave above where the time portal was in the present. you'll emerge on a hill above the cave entrance. (I think there are two exits from the cave, but I'm not sure. If there are, you'll want to take the exit on the right). Outside once again, you'll see on odd looking stone to your left. Push it farther to the left into the water, and then go back through the cave the way you came. Back down by the vines, play the Tune of Currents to warp to the present. Now when you climb the vines on the right, you'll find the boulders and pits have been filled with water from the stream you diverted in the past. (If you leave the bulb on the left side and climb the vines after you've diverted the stream, you can get an upgraded Bomb Bag that can hold 30 Bombs). Swim across the pool and climb the stairs to the north. Head north again, then east, and then south down another set of stairs. Here you'll find a time portal, with which you can use to return to the past. Do so, and retrace your steps back down to the pool of water. Finally, nothing lies between you and Restoration Wall. Simply head down the set of stairs from the pool of water and walk to the east, then north to find the wall. Climbing the wall itself is no easy task itself, however, as boulders constantly rain down from above. If you can make it to the top, though, you'll find a large cave entrance. Inside you'll meet Patch, who'll repair the cracked Tuni Nut... If you can complete his "Restoration Ceremony," that is.

Cool. I think that's the first FFVIII question I've gotten. ^_^ Question: In Final Fantasy IV, what monster do you have to defeat in order to get the Crystal Sword?

Gaming Is anybody still addicted to Animal Crossing?
Desbreko replied to SS5 Gogeta's topic in Noosphere
First off, yes, I think you should definitely get this game if it looks/sounds fun to you. For me, I thought it would get boring after a week, from just hearing about it. Once I actually played it, though, I was totally hooked. Secondly, I doubt AC2 will be released anytime soon. Nintendo's said that they're going to do an updated Japanese game first, to include all the features that are in the US Animal Crossing. So I wouldn't count on another US Animal Crossing being released until at least 2005, most likely 2006. As for the memory card thing, I think it should work, so long as you don't try and put both NTSC and PAL game files onto it at the same time. Though since AC takes up the entire memory card, you shouldn't have any problems with that. -
Isn't that a GF ability that makes the GF's attack stronger, where you tap a button as much as you can during the GF's animation, except when a little red X appears over the cursor? And if you tap it while the X is in place, it drops the power back down to normal? I vaguely remember something like that from watching my brother play FFVIII, when he rented it.

Yeah, so far the story hasn't been confusing for me. It's just been leaving me with lots of questions that slowly get answered as I progress through the game. But that's part of what keeps me playing, so it's not a bad thing. ^_^ And yeah, I do try and stick with a set party of my favorite characters as much as I can, so there hasn't been too much annoyance at having to swap around Elements a lot. But still, some of the characters just feel tacked on for no real purpose. Like Poshul--I mean, what the heck is up with her? She's a pink, talking dog thing that joins your party because you give her a bone, lol. (Though I do have to admit, they did get pretty creative with some of the character designs). Right now I'm just about to head to Marbule, and I'm using
Lynx
, Norris, and Radius. And I'm wishing I could get Razzly to rejoin, to replace Radius. She's the best magic user I've found so far, and I also just like fairies. Plus I find a guilty pleasure in letting her beat things to death with an Iron Rod. :naughty:
Originally posted by Gargoyle God theres no question up right now so heres one... In final fantasy V, how many jobs can you get?
You can't ask a question just because the answer to a previous one is being debated. You have to answer a question in order to ask one. This quiz does have rules, and that's one of them. And yes, FF RENO, your banner is huge. The size limit here at OB is 500 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall. Please resize it to fit the limit or remove it from your signature. As for the "judgement call," I say just go with it; keep the quiz moving. Otherwise we get posts like the one above, which are annoying. So yeah, go ahead and ask a question, ang3l5rul3.

Well, if you need help with something, IMing me would be the easiest. That way I can actually talk to you and ask where exactly you're stuck, and all that. But yeah, if you don't want to IM, a PM would also be good. Or there's probably a help thread for LTP/FS floating around the forum somewhere.

Do you mean those slots to the right of the Sword Beams icon? That would be where it displays the keys you've earned. Each little mark is where a key would go, if you've gotten one. There's a Silver, Gold, and Hero key for each of the three dungeons. There's actually only two abilities that you get (besides the normal Spin Attack, which youu start out with). One is the Sword Beam, and the other is the Hurricane Spin. If you've played The Wind Waker and gotten the Hurricane Spin in that, it's pretty much the same thing. In LTP, you charge up your sword twice (it'll charge up to let you do a normal Spin Attack, and then if you wait that amount of time again, it'll make that little charge-up noise again), let up the button, and then tap the button. As long as you keep tapping the button, and as long as you have some magic power left in your magic meter, you can just keep doing it. In Four Swords, since you don't have a magic meter, there's just a set amount of time that you can keep doing it before you have to charge up again. But, in FS, you don't have to wait twice as long for your sword to charge in order to use it. In LTP, the Hurricane Spin is actually not that useful. I've only used it a few times, and most of those were just for fun. In Four Swords, however, it's very, very useful. With a little practice, it makes defeating some of the bigger enemies a lot easier, and it also works really well for chopping down bushes and grass. (You do not, however, want to use it to put out flames in the Death Mountain dungeon. Since you don't have that handy little energy ring around you while you're doing a Spin Attack/Huricane Spin like you do in the 3D games, you're still vulnerable on every side that your sword isn't occupying. So basically, you'll put out a couple flames and then run into the next ones, which will hurt you and stop the Hurricane Spin). To get the Hurricane Spin in A Link to the Past/Four Swords, you have to first win ten rounds in Four Swords, to get ten Medals of Courage. You'll also need to have gotten the Bug-Catching Net and Magic Powder in A Link to the Past. (I think that's all the items you need, but there might be one more; it's been awhile since I did it). Then, in LTP, go to the Woodsmen's Hut and talk to Q. Bumpkin who's inside. If you can complete his riddle game, you'll earn some wooden statues to go in your house, and also the Hurricane Spin. Also, you may have noticed an extra opening in the Pyramid of Power, over towards the east side of it where you jump down to get the Heart Container Piece. That's the Dungeon of the Four Sword, and to be able to get in, you'll need to have beaten A Link to the Past and at least the Silver Key Quest of Four Swords. If you manage to beat the dungeon, you'll get a different ending and it'll also tell how many times you've used each item and how long you've been playing. And yeah, they are coming out with a Four Swords game for the GameCube. I believe there was a thread about it and Tetra's Trackers a little ways down the threads page. I can't wait for it to be released.

*yells "PLOT TWIST!" and plunges onward* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The three Aeons struck simultaneously, each with his own devastating attack; a blast of fire and brimstone, hotter than that of any valcono, from Zeltinc; inumerable bolts of energy from Auronite, spreading out like webs to entangle and trap anything in their path; and from Cemyth, a ray of pure Holy light, meant to shine through a creature's exterior and disolve the very essence of life within. All this, fueled by the Survivors' determination, met and broke the barrier surrounding Anima, plunging onward to pummel the possessed Aeon. A cry rent the air as Anima fell beneath the onslaught, and the Survivors let out a gasp of relief as they ceased their attacks. Zeltinc 'voiced' what all three of them were thinking in the backs of their minds. Did we...did we beat him? That was too easy, came the thought from Auronite. Cemyth neighed and tossed his mane, looking warily at the fallen form of Anima. You're right. Stay on your guard; I don't think we've beaten Ganger yet. Then the small voice of Rinoa: Run.... Before it's...before it's too late. We can't just leave you like this! thought Zeltinc, his flame pulsing brighter. Hahahahaha.... Very good; you've stepped right into my trap. Now, experience my power! The room around them faded, and out of Anima rose the form of Ganger. It glowed with a black light, floating above the fallen Aeon for a second as the Survivors' eyes grew wide. They could do nothing but brace themselves and prepare for the worst as they saw Ganger split into three and fly at them.... No, not just at them, but into them. Then the world before them went completely black, and they could feel the link between them being severed. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Cemyth felt as though he was falling; but the utter blackness around him made it impossible to tell whether or not it was real. Then a red light shone faintly below him; he knew that light from somewhere. Then he plunged through a layer of blackened rock; or what should have been, in any case. It looked to be mainly transparent, and he passed through it as easily as air. Down he fell still, through layer upon layer, through a multitude of caverns and crevices, as the rock grew to be a silver-white. The light was getting brighter and more intense; closer and closer, as he fell. Now the rock was no longer just silver-white, but it was shining crystal, like that of his sword. Now he knew this place. He knew it and did not believe it. This was one of the moons orbiting his homeworld, deep below the surface. This was where he had faced the greatest evil he had ever encountered: Zeromus, the product of Zemus' pure hatred. This can't be real! Cemyth shouted in his mind. I've already done this! I defeated Zeromus, and now I'm the-- But there it was: Zeromus, in all its hideousness, orbiting around inside the core of the moon. Cemyth's descent slowed and eventually stopped, drawing level with Zeromus as he too began orbiting around the core, opposite the incarnation of hatred. Shades of blue crystal whirled about all around them, the walls of this giant cavern, with the red glow of the core's light shining steadily out from the center of the cavern. Zeromus rumbled at its foe, preparing to cast the ultimate black magic: Meteo. Cemyth roared in replied, casting Shell to lessen the onslaught of falling meteors. Even at half strength, however, the barrage still hurt Cemyth badly. Cure 4! he thought automatically, and the two flares of multi-colored light converged on his battered body, healing it completely. Then realization struck: Shell? Cure 4? ...I must know ever white magic spell there is! Zeromus rumbled again, and once again the barrage of meteors flew at Cemyth. He was ready this time with a spell of his own, however: White! Spheres of pure white light flew from Cemyth's horn, consuming every one of the burning meteors. Even with this small triumph, however, Cemyth knew he could not win with magic alone. From previous experience, Cemyth knew that Zeromus was invincible to any attack while in this form. Use the Crystal, came a tiny voice from within. Cemyth was startled; he knew that voice. It was a voice he hadn't heard in a long, long time. Brother? Can it be? Use the Crystal, Cecil, came the voice again. I don't have the Crystal! Cemyth cried out in his mind. He knew that without the Crystal, all was lost, for only its power could change Zeromus into a form where it could be damaged. Another small voice: Believe in yourself, Cecil. I am here with your brother, watching over you. You cannot perish now, at the very last. Believe in yourself, warrior of the light; Paladin! FuSoYa! Brother! I will not be vanquished! Cemyth reared up on his legs, roaring a challenge. The horn on his head shone brighter, shining with a light that could only be.... The Crystal, Cemyth--no, Cecil, warrior of the light, Paladin--thought. The light from the Crystal shone out from his horn, overtaking Zeromus. The beast roared, howling a cry of hatred, as only an incarnation of pure hatred could. The light subsided, and there in its place, was now an even more hideous beast: Zeromus' second, even more powerful form. Zeromus Theme Cemyth stood his ground, roaring back, tossing his mane wildly and waving his Crystal horn about. Zeromus roared again, and Cemyth was suddenly tossed off balance as both he and Zeromus abbruptly started orbiting the opposite direction. This was it; Zeromus' most powerful attack, even more powerful than the legendary Meteo. This was the Big Bang. Cemyth was tossed on his side from the sudden change of movement, and then the attack struck. Lightning flashed all around, bolts stricking him repeatedly, and the core of the moon shone even brighter, its fiery light rising up around him as he shook with a force strong enough to crumble a planet. The only reason the moon itself could take such an attack was because the attack was not focused upon it; it was focused upon Cemyth. As the storm of lightning and fire ended, Cemyth was thrown off his feet once more as they again changed the direction in which they were orbiting around the core. When the attack had subsided, Cemyth rose to his feet, scorch marks lining his entire body, a limp in his left hind leg, and his head dizzy from the sudden changes in motion. Cure...4, he thought with stoic determination. Again the dancing light healed his battered body, fully revitalizing him. Now it was his turn. Cemyth charged, horn pointed straight out, as he readied a White spell. He made contact, the horn plunging deep into Zeromus' body, the power of the Crystal causing the beast to scream in agony again and again as each shining sphere of the White spell plunged into the wound. As a last blow, Cemyth reared up, tearing a long gash with his horn. Jumping back, he watched as Zeromus sagged, deeply wounded. Now was his chance. You can do it...brother! Cemyth reared up on his hind legs, the intense light of the Crystal shining again from his horn as he roared his final challenge to Zeromus. Then the light within the Crystal could be contained no more and it shot forth, filling the entire cavern with its brilliance. The pulsing light stabbed through Zeromus, tearing huge gashes through it, each blow accompanied by a roar of pain and hatred from the monster. It sagged farther, falling out of its orbit and being drawn into the bright fire of the core where it was consumed, utterly and forever destroyed. Again. Help...me.... Rinoa! Cemyth saw, in his mind's eye, the trapped form of Rinoa laying on the floor next to Anima.... And the Survivors' Aeon bodies also. Now, though, he could just see himself starting to stir. I have defeated you in my own mind, Ganger! Now I will destroy you outright! Around him, the walls of the moon's core went transparent again, and he flew up and up, back again the way he had come. As he flew, he could feel his Aeon body being stripped away, his own body emerging. Cemyth's horn flattened and became the Crystal Sword in his hand. Faintly, he could also see his body laying on the ground return to normal. He looked up and saw the final layers of rock approaching, finally bursting through the surface of the moon. He briefly recognized the constellations of his world, before everything went black. Then Cecil's eyes snapped open; his real eyes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay, so there's my post twist. Ganger's possessed us, and is fighting for control of our minds by taking the form of the end boss for each character inside our minds. I know it's funky, but it's fun, so just go with it. ^_^; And I figured after we each fight our end boss, there could be a final form that we fight as our normal characters, too. (And I have some amusing ideas about that. PM or IM me if you want to know about them, but otherwise just go with whatever you want to do).

Well, if you didn't like Paper Mario, you probably won't like Mario & Luigi. It, like Paper Mario, is an RPG, not a platformer like most other Mario games. So liking other Mario games besides Super Mario RPG (SNES) and Paper Mario won't really matter, since Mario & Luigi is a different type of game. Personally, though, I'm really looking forward to Mario & Luigi. I liked Paper Mario quite a bit, and Mario & Luigi looks to be even weirder than that. And while I haven't played Super Mario RPG, it's on my "To Play" list of SNES games, so maybe I'll find some time to play it before I get Mario & Luigi. I can't wait to see how they're going to use the duel control system thing, where you control both Mario and Luigi at the same time.

Heheh, the competetive part of it is half the fun. (Of course, on the other hand, the other half is the cooperative part). The thing that makes it so fun is that you have to cooperate to advance through the dungeons and to beat some of the bigger enemies and also the bosses, but at the same time, you're also trying to beat the other player(s). (And yes, whoever collects the most Rupees in a dungeon wins that round, and they get a Medal of Courage for winning. Every medal you win is saved to your game file, so it keeps track of your vistories, and you can get something special if you get 10 medals). At first, me and my friend were just trying to get through the dungeons with enough Rupees to get the keys needed to unlock Vaati's Palace, so it wasn't all that competetive. But now that we've both beaten all three quests (by getting enough Rupees in each dungeon to get the Silver, Gold, and Hero Keys), it doesn't matter how many Rupees we get total. So basically, we're just trying to stab each other in the back as much as possible, while being forced to cooperate. It's great fun, heh. About the only rule we have is that we try not to cause harm to the other player(s) on purpose. (Since you can pick up and throw or hit other players into pits and flames and whatnot, it can get ugly real fast without a rule like that). It's mainly because we don't want to die, but also because you get double the normal amount for any Rupees that you pick up while every player has full hearts. So yeah, if you get the chance, you should definitely play this game; you won't be disappointed. I have 23 Medals of Courage, and even after playing that much, I still love to play it whenever I get the chance. (It should be 25, but my friend reset his game a couple times before it could save. And it would be over 30, except that I let him win about 6 or 7 times so that he could get up to 10 medals). And that's just the times that I've won, too. I've probably played around 40-45 rounds altogether.

That's all but one, unless you count the ones for the Philips CD-i system. But those weren't even made by Nintendo, so they're usually not counted. (And I suppose there was also an old Game & Watch Zelda game, but good luck finding one of those). Anyway, the one you're missing is Four Swords. It comes on the same cartridge as the GBA remake of A Link to the Past, and is the first multi-player Zelda game. Each person needs an A Link to the Past/Four Swords cartridge to play, but it's tons of fun. Me and my friend have spent hours and hours playing it, and it never gets old because each dungeon is randomly generated from a bunch of different pre-set pieces. We still see new parts every now and then, and we also suspect there are more that you only see when you're playing 3- and 4-player.

Heheh, I've started playing Chrono Cross finally (ended up borrowing Star Fox Adventures from a friend in between CT and CC). I'm finding it almost as fun as CT, but not quite. The story is good, but I don't like how there are so many characters. They don't go as in-depth with their back story, and it's annoying having to change around your elements (magic) every time you want to swap one out. The battle system is quite fun, however. I do actually like the element system; it's only annoying if you want to be swapping characters a lot. (Which I do as little of as I can). I'd say the battle system is as good as Chrono Trigger's, though it's totally different. Heck, I've never seen anything like it before--I guess that's part of why I like it. So yeah, I'm loving Chrono Cross, but I don't think it's going to live up to Chrono Trigger. At least not for me, anyway. About half the people that I've talked to about it prefer CT, and the other half prefer CC.
-
Well, I've never played this game myself, but I do remember my brother renting it long ago, before the N64 was released. I don't remember anything of the story, but the battle system looked pretty fun. I suppose this is another old SNES game that I should get around to playing some time, heh.
Originally posted by James I actually think that the homing attack was very well done. I think it's really suitable...because you really have no other way of launching yourself at enemies. It makes sense, especially when you use enemies to cross large gaps or something.
Yeah, it is cool to be able to use it, combined with enemies, to cross gaps and stuff. I find the attack itself fine, I just think it would've been better if they had made it so you had to aim manually. (If there had been a better camera and better play control, that is). Pretty much just make it so you launch in whatever direction you're tilting the control stick, when you push the jump button in the air. You could still use it for all the stuff it's used for now. And sure, it would make it more difficult, but the better camera and controls would also make it easier, balancing it out. And I mean, sure, it looks cool to bounce from enemy to enemy to cross a gap in the path, but to me it's not that fun. All you have to do is tap the button at the right time, and you're across. I'd find it a lot more fun if I had more control over it.

Yeah, the ending is the same, but it is satisfying to see the Quest History scroll down the screen with all 000's. And actually, every game I've played on my LTP/FS copy, I've never died. So I've gotten 000 for all four times through, heh. (I did die a few times on my first time through on the SNES version, though). Oh, that reminds me! There is one thing that changes the ending, that I noticed when I beat it on my last time through. That is, if you don't beat Agahnim in Hyrule Castle, the Twin Lumberjacks never cut down that tree that they're sawing through. So in the ending, instead of the tree being cut down and them working on a new one, the tree is still there. (Though they're still working on the other tree). So that's a slight change, heh.

Easy way to keep posting, if you can get on the net even for a few minutes at a time: Just write your post in Notepad or something, get online, and copy it into OB to post. That way you don't have to be online while writing the post, just for the actual posting of the post.

Guess I'll ask another one, then, if you're not going to. ^_^ Question: In the original Super Mario World on the SNES, you just had to beat Funky (in the Special World) to change it to Autumn. (You know, with the different looking enemies?) What do you have to do in the GBA remake, Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, to change it to Autumn?
