Hearing sounds of dinner coming from the cafeteria down the hall, Arik decided he should probably get down there a little earlier this time in order to get a decent table. Waiting through the line, he got his dinner, and then surveyed the room for possible places to sit. Finally, he was waved over to a table by Leo, who has just sat down himself. Across from him at the table was another man, one Arik didn't recognize. Maybe he's part of Leo's group, Arik thought as he made his way to the table and sat down on Leo's side. Leo smiled as he introduced his friends, confirming Arik's thought. "Arik, this is Sergeant Clavat Bunel, a friend that's also in our group. Clavat, this is Captain Arik Farrel, someone I met a few months ago. He'll be heading up the healing part of our group." The two shook hands across the table, and Clavat began, "Nice to mee--" before he was cut off by a piercing laugh that echoed around the cafeteria. "What was that?" he then said, cringing. Leo pointed at the group of girls in line getting their dinner, and then said, "Oh, no -- they're heading our way. Try not to--" a gasp from one of the girls as she sat down at the table next to Leo's, and then a scream from all four. Apparently, they had spotted the Lieutenant. "That's it," said Arik. "I can't stand this anymore! Mute!" The spell encompassed the entire table, instantly silencing the girls. A cheer went up from the entire room. Clavat laughed. "Well, you certainly have a way with people." Arik stood up and took a bow, causing more cheers, before sitting down again and grinning. "Last night before we leave; have to make it interesting somehow," he said. The group laughed, watching as the flustered girls tried in vain to speak.

Stall for time, Cecil thought. Cindy has to show up soon. Lowering his sword, Cecil raised his other hand in a gesture of surrender. "All right, then. What are you going to do now, then? You've finally possesed an Aeon, but what are you going to do with it?" "What do you think?" The voice sounded like Zidane's, Mindy's, and Ganger's voice all mixed together. "I'll take over the rest of the Aeons, and rule Spira with their magic!" Ganger punctuated this with another squeeze of Zidane's head, lifting him up off the ground so his feet were dangling. Cecil winced, seeing the pain that Zidane was in. He muttered a Cure spell under his breath, casting it on Zidane without letting anyone else see. It was weaker this way, but he could see it helped anyway. Zidane wasn't squirming quite so much now. Auron this time, having caught onto Cecil's plan. "Surely you don't think you can take over all the Aeons with the power of just one?" And there she was, finally, slipping around the corner of the temple and sidling up behind Ganger; Cindy, the mantis sister. Trying to keep their expressions blank as Ganger talked, the group prepared for the moment of action. "Hah, don't you see yet? With the power of one, I can--" Then it all happened at once; Cindy struck with a blow to the possesed Mindy's left shoulder blade; Cecil cast Size on Zidane, causing him to slip from Ganger's now-loose grasp, and then casting the spell on him again shortly after to bring him back up to size; and Zell leapt forward, raining a barrage of quick punches on Ganger. All non-lethal hits, meant to incapacitate the opponent, and they did the trick. Ganger stumbled back, stunned for a moment. "Sorry, little sister!" Sandy, transforming back into her normal form, pounced on Ganger with her mighty girth. This rendered Mindy completely unconscious, and the form of Ganger rose from her limp body. "You haven't won yet!" he snarled. "The most powerful Aeon still remains!" And with that, he sunk through the ground and melted away down the temple's support pillars. Running immediately to the unconscious form of Mindy, Cecil knelt down beside her and looked over her injuries. Nothing too bad, just some scrapes and bruises, mainly. A couple broken bones, but Cecil fixed these with a couple quick Cure spells. For now, she was sleeping peacefully. "Good, she's okay. It won't take too long for her to recover, I don't think." "This is the worst headache I've had in my life!" Zidane cluntched at his head, moaning as he sat on the ground, and the group looked back to him. "For that," Cecil said while trying not to chuckle, "there's not much I can do. Most of the actual damage was healed by my other Cure spells." "I don't think that quick size change exactly helped things, though." "Well," Auron spoke up, "Would you rather have gotten caught under Sandy when she pounced?" Zidane looked up at the large ladybug sister, who grinned. "I, ah, uh...guess not," he trailed off.
Originally posted by EchoMew2PKMorph I didn't know that there was a Duplication trick in R/B. The only one I know works for G/S, and slightly for Crystal. I never got to see it untill I hooked up my Crystal to Pokemon Stadium, which revealed the same exact pokemon I ment to duplicate, except the fact all the letters in it's name were reverted into spaces. Oh, wait, duh! There are also monkeys in Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, right at the start. Some of them get turned to stone in Seasons, I think it is. :cross: Anyway, same question: Question: Which Zelda game features an area called the Lost Hills, in addition to an area called the Lost Woods?

As some of you may have noticed, I had a few lines in my signature just recently that read, "You know you play too much Zelda: A Link to the Past when... ...you beat the game without fighting Agahnim in Hyrule Castle because, 'He's not worth my time.' Booyah." First off, yes, I actually did that, and you'll find out how in a minute. My question for this thread, though, is have you ever done something like that? Used a trick or cheat to beat a Zelda game without doing something that you would normally have to do? Or maybe just added some extra challenge to the game by not getting optional weapons, items, Heart Containers, and whatnot? If you have, I'd like to hear your experiences and what tricks you used. As I said, I've beaten A Link to the Past without fighting Agahnim in Hyrule Castle. Now I'm playing through again, and this time (believe it or not), I'm doing it without getting the Master Sword. The same trick that makes skipping Agahnim possible also lets you skip the Master Sword, though it makes it harder and a bit trickier. I call this trick the "Dark World Drop," and you can find out how to do it by reading the text below my main post. Basically, to skip getting the Master Sword, you just perform the trick after you've gotten the Moon Pearl out of the Mountain Tower, but before you get the Master Sword. Then you can just do the Dark World dungeons as you would normally. But wait, you may ask; how are you going to get into Level 6: Misery Mire without the Master Sword? After all, you need the Ether Medallion to open its entrance, and you need the Master Sword to get Ether. Well, yesterday I confirmed my theory on how to get past this. What I did, was I just went straight to the Tempered Sword from the Fighter's Sword (Lv.1 Sword to the Lv.3 Sword). This let me get the Ether Medallion and open up Level 6, yet the Master Sword is still sitting in its pedestal in the Lost Woods. I've already beaten Levels 1 and 4 in the Dark World (it's possible to go straight from 1 to 4, since you don't need the Hookshot or Fire Rod in Level 4), and everything looks like it'll go smoothly from there. I'll confirm it when I beat the game. (You'll probably see another thing in my sig, heh). So yeah, those are my experiences thus far. I've been thinking about going through A Link to the Past and getting as few items, Heart Containers, and whatnot as possible, but I haven't done it yet. Probably someday, though, since I just keep getting better at the game each time I play through. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- The Dark World Drop This trick allows you to get into all of the Dark World before you've beaten Agahnim in Hyrule Castle. This has some obvious benefits, such as getting some items and Heart Container Pieces before you'd normally be able to, but it also has another use. With this trick, you can actually beat the game without ever getting the Master Sword or fighting Agahnim in Hyrule Castle. First of all, go to Death Mountain in the Light World and go through the warp portal near the Mountain Tower. You can perform this trick as a rabbit, before you've gotten the Moon Pearl, but there's not much to do in the Dark World as a rabbit. So, it's reccomended that you have the Moon Pearl first. After you warp to the Dark World, walk south a bit and you'll come to the edge of a cliff. Drop down through a gap in the edging, and then drop down again from the ledge that you'll land on. (Ignore the cave on the ledge for now, as you need to Magic Hammer to get anywhere in it). Now walk one screen to the east, and you'll come to a large gorge blocking your path. In the Light World, there's a broken bridge in this location, which is what makes this trick possible. When you get to this place in the Dark World, walk up to the top post and wedge yourself as close as you can get to it and the wall. (In other words, hold in diagonal up/right until you can't go any farther). Now stop moving, and using the Magic Mirror to warp to the Light World. This is the hardest part of the trick. During the time while you're flashing, and the warp portal that you created won't pull you back into the Dark World, edge to the right a tiny bit. It should look like you've only moved a couple pixels. Now stop moving, and let the portal pull you back into the Dark World when you stop flashing. DON'T MOVE! If you've done the last part correctly, you will actually be standing in the wall a little, but you won't be warped back to the Light World. If you move, you'll be pushed off the wall and you'll have to start over. Also, if you've moved too far and you do get automatically warped back to the Light World, you'll have to start over. Now, wait until you stop flashing again, and warp back to the Light World once more. Step to the right until you're all the way out of the portal and onto the broken bridge. Then, while still facing to the right, holding in the B button to charge up a Spin Attack. With your sword charged, edge backwards into the portal ever so slightly. The less you're in the portal when you get warped to the Dark World, the better. While you're being warped, keep the B button held in, and also hold in right on the Control Cross. If everything has been done correctly, you'll jump off the ledge and into the gorge below. (If you don't, start over; it takes a little practice to be able to do this trick consistently). Don't worry, though -- you can actually stand on the black area that looks like a huge pit. The red lines cannot be walked across, however. When you land in the gorge, walk south, slip between a little gap in one of the red lines, and walk down to the next screen. (DO NOT walk down to the next screen farther to the right. If you do, the game will screw up, and you'll most likely have to reset). Now you should be in a familiar looking area; just to the east of the Graveyard, next to the river...only you're on top of that big cliff! (And of course, you're in the Dark World). The screen will be a bit glitchy, and the music and color palette won't have changed from Death Mountain, but this can easily be fixed. Either while you're still up on the cliff (you can walk around on it), or after you drop down onto the grass below, simply warp to the Light World using the Magic Mirror and then warp back in order to fix the glitchy screen. And that's it; you're now in the Dark World, off of Death Mountain, without having beaten Agahnim in Hyrule Castle. This trick can be performed any time in the game after you gain access to Death Mountain in the Light World, but once you get the Magic Hammer, there's no use for it since the Magic Hammer lets you go everywhere in the Dark World that this trick can get you.

I am so pissed that they didn't release Onyx (black) when the SP launched. When I originally saw pictures of Japanese GBASPs, I saw Platinum, Cobalt, and Onyx. Then they didn't release Onyx in the US, so I just went for Platinum instead. Now I'm pissed that they're releasing Onyx later, after I've already bought a Platinum one. I would really like an Onyx one, instead of Platinum. But hey, who knows; maybe I'll win one in the Player's Poll contest in NP, heh. I actually won an NP t-shirt one time, so it's possible.

Answer: The third Bottle that you can get, the one in Lake Hylia, contains a letter from Princess Ruto. You can't use it for anything else, until you show the letter to King Zora and the letter disappears. And I don't know the exact words, but it starts the regular message for when you get a Bottle, but then it says there's something already in it. I think he meant that for another four player game, like Four Swords. Just instead of using the Four Sword to split Link into four of the same person, have four completely different Links, like from the different games. Not have a game where you play as four Links by yourself. And I agree, it is a cool idea, if they made it so each Link had unique items that couldn't be used by the other Links, or unique abilities or something. Add another layer of complexity to the game.

Heheh, my vote definitely goes to Charles. And no, not just because I'm mentioned in it, heh. His actually made me really laugh, not just chuckle. He set it up perfectly, and then the last part brings it all together just right. I think I'm actually going to have to save it, heh.

My real name, Jonathon, is a variant on Jonathan, which means "Gift from God." Everybody should be thankful for my existence, lol. Don't know what my last name means. As for my screen name, Drake Desbreko, Drake means "Dragon," and here's what the Hyrule Encyclopedia on Zelda.com defines a Desbreko as: "Desbreko - Z6 Desbrekos are huge skeletal fish with sharp teeth. They have no stomachs to fill, but they nevertheless enjoy inflicting pain on the living."

Anime What was the first anime that you watched?
Desbreko replied to Krillen's topic in Otaku Central
Well, I suppose Pokémon was the first anime that I ever saw. I actually bought a good amount of the VHS tapes after seeing a couple episodes on TV over at a friend's house, so I have most of the first season, but after that they didn't seem worth the money for the tapes. I still like watching my old first season tapes every now and then, though, and if we had cable I'd probably watch it on TV. Other than that, though, Trigun was the first. My second-oldest brother had come up from Santa Clara, so we (me and my three brothers) watched something out of my oldest brother's collection, and Trigun happened to be what was picked. After seeing a few episodes, I borrowed the series from my brother, and watched the rest. It's comedy drew me in, and then the story held me to the last episode. -
The first thing to check would be whether you have it set in your profile to log you in automatically whenever you're on OB. If you have that on, then that's probably it. Just check in the Edit Options section of your profile; it's the second option from the top.

"Looks like we'll be traveling together. Quite a coincidence, only having met earlier today." Rydia jumped a bit at the voice behind her, turning to see Arik looking at the list over her shoulder. "Huh?" She turned to look again at the list, and noticed Arik's name in the same column as her own. "Oh, so were are. But why is a priest on offensive duty?" "Field medic," he replied. "I'll be keeping you and the rest of our group in fighting shape. Don't hesitate to ever call for help," he said with a wink, and then was off down the corridor. Rydia puzzled at this for a moment, before going back to other thoughts. Returning to his quarters, Arik stepped into the room and closed the door, picking up the small box of matches on a nearby shelf. Stepping about the room, he lit several candles, providing illumination. In the far corner from the door was a bed, beside the head of which was a small desk and chair. At the foot of the bed was the sliding door of the room's closet, afforded him because of his rank as Captain. Across from the bed was a dresser, and alongside it spanning the wall all the way to the door were a few shelves. Still not exactly a large room, but it was home; the only home Arik had, aside from the Mages' Sactum. Stepping over to the desk and sitting down, he opened up an unmarked, leather-bound book. It was his journal, which he had been keeping since he left the sactum. Picking a pen from one of the desk's droors, he began to write. Another campaign is about to begin, and I've been assigned to Lieutenant Leo Tantosen's group. I'm glad, as it's always better when you're with someone you know, especially as your senior officer. Tomorrow we will be leaving for the village of Bankai; hopefully everything will go smoothly, but only the future will tell. A new girl in the battalion is also in our group, whom I met today at breakfast. We've only just met, but hopefully we can become friends; the more the merrier, as they say. She seems to still be settling in, so maybe I can help her feel welcome on the journey. Sigh...what a hopeless romantic I am. She's cute, but I should stay focused on our mission. - Arik Farrel Blowing gently on the ink before closing the journal, he returned the book to its place on the desk and got up from the chair. Blowing out the candles, he left the room. One more day before they were leaving, and his subconscious was telling him to make the most of it.

Gah, Pikmin 2 in October; yet another game I must get. I'll also have to check out Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. And I still need to get Skies of Arcadia Legends, actually. Yes, definitely looks as though there will be no PS2 this year. >_

Ooo, FFS comic! Go ahead, use whatever you want from my posts. Just no taking quotes completely out of context. :cross: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The three racers sat mounted on their Chocobos, standing ready at the starting line. "Remember, Zidane, only one of us has to win. Don't go pushing me off the track or anything." "Yeah, yeah," Zidane said in a rather cocky tone. "Just beat the old geezer, no problem." "And it's all uphill, so don't tire out your Chocobo." "Alright, I get it! Let's get on with the race already!" "Heheh, alright then. When the stone lands, we race." The old man held up a small stone, showing it to Cecil and Zidane lined up beside him, before tossing it into the air. Tightening their grips on the straps, they waited for the stone to land. When it did, it exploded in great burst of light and with a loud bang, just behind the Chocobos. "WOAH!" Zidane was jolted back as his Chocobo leapt from the starting line. Already their opponent had gotten the jump on them, in the ensuing confusion as Cecil and Zidane almost collided. "Foul play!" Zidane yelled, urging his Chocobo forward at top speed. He wants to use tricks, huh? Cecil was thinking as he raced along, straightening out just behind and a little to the left of Zidane's Chocobo. Lets see how he likes this trick! "Haste, Haste!" Cecil cast the spell on each of their Chocobos, and immediately they sprung forward at double speed. Indeed, they actually had to slow down to make it around some of the sharper twists and turns. "You're the best, Cecil!" Zidane laughed as he sped ever upwards. Though not golden, these Chocobos were no doubt close to the standards of one. They had to be, in order to make it all the way up the track. "Don't get cocky!" Cecil yelled as they neared the old man. More cocky, that is, he added in his mind. Though they were taking full advantage of the effects of the Haste spells, they still seemed to be gaining ever so slowly on the old man. Then the torches flashed, relighting with blue flames, and everything suddenly got much harder. Now the track was lined with boulders and other obstacles, causing the survivors to have to weave back and forth on the track. Not only did this take more time than racing on a plain track, it also tired the Chocobos faster. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- "Sure is dark down here," Zell commented as he and Auron made their way down the dirt path. Suddenly, Auron stopped his downward descent along the path. "Shh," he hissed, and motioned for Zell to be quiet. Down from below, the faint echos of a voice could be heard. "Someone is down there," he finally said in a whisper. "It sounds like whoever it is is in pain." "It must be Cecil and Zidane!" Zell almost shouted, happy about the prospect of them still being alive after the long fall. Then it suddenly got a lot brighter, as torches all around them on the support pillars burst into flame. And, not too long after, a brighter flash of light flashing up from below followed by a bang and a faint vibration in the path. Auron glared at Zell. "Good job. Whatever is down there, it now seems to know about our presence."

Well, I don't really have any one prefered genre; more like two. I like action/adventure and RPG about the same. (Playing Star Fox Adventures curently, and after that, going to play Chrono Cross ^_^). I also like the point-and-click type adventure games that you find almost exclusively on the PC. (I did manage to get Discworld II on the PSX, however). Those require quite a bit of thought, and are often also quite funny. After those, I like platformers, but beyond that, I don't really have mach preference. Sports games are the only ones that I really dislike. I've never been much into sports in video games or real life.

Well, Toad is in SSBM, but not as a playable character. Peach's B move uses Toad to block and counter attacks, sort of like Marth's and Roy's Down+B moves. That's the extent of Toad's role in the game, however, except for a trophy.

Yes, this thread has gotten off topic. I also think that all the decent discussion that's going to come out of this thread has already come out. I'll be closing this now, to prevent this from becoming a flame-filled argument over which FFs are better. And TriGunMaSta68, you'll want to consider stating your opinion is a less vulgar manner. People are more likely to listen to you that way, and it also won't be breaking the rules. Thread Closed

You're talking about Marin, for the Link's Awakening reference. Similar to, but a different character from, Malon. I actually think a Link/Marin relationship would be best. There are bits in Link's Awakening that suggest they have feelings for each other, and I think they make a cuter couple than Link and Zelda or Malon. And besides, Malon is mine. :p
OR Ruto.. Ya never know.
*slaps forehead* You just had to bring that up, didn't you, lol? Bleh, I saw his file name once, quite a while ago, but I can't remember it now. Heh, I remember it was something really stupid, though. :p Probably the only person that has any chance at this one would be Samgee Gamwise, since I think he has the copy of MM that Olga's saved game is on. (If the save file is still on there, that is). :cross: But, uh, no, that doesn't really work as a question. That's a question about you, not Zelda. I'll ask another one to keep the quiz going, and he can just take my place some time later if he wants to ask another (real) question. Oh, and hiachi, please do not one word post. That was complete spam, and served no point whatsoever. Question: Which Zelda games has Tingle appeared in?
Originally posted by GinnyLyn I loved the look of Wind Waker, yes, but that's pretty much where the love stopped. Most of the puzzles were tired and old, and my complaint was that there was a serious deprivation of dungeons, overcompensated by a far too large overworld. If there was at least enemies to slay by the handful, all that sailing around wouldn't be so bad. As it was, I could start Link going in one direction, run off to the bathroom, check on my laundry, microwave some popcorn, come back upstairs, and Link would still not be wherever I wanted him to be. (And this is with the warping, argh.) OK, some exaggeration there, but not by much.
Why in such a hurry to get places? I highly enjoyed the sailing aspect of TWW, and how it actually took you quite a while to get across the overworld. I would've liked some more big islands, sure, but I found sailing around pillaging the platforms and dredging up treasure to be just as fun as simply walking across the overworld of OOT and encountering all of five enemies on the way. Even with the sparse amount of enemies in TWW's overworld, it's still at least as many as in OOT. (Unless you count those enemies that just keep coming back, no matter what, like Stalchildren and Leevers). I will agree, however, that the game did suffer from a lack of dungeons, just like MM. Still, for the ones they had, the storyline kept me actually wanting to go to each new one. I found myself enjoying the dungeons as much or more than the stuff inbetween the dungeons, on the overworld/islands--the complete opposite of MM. (I think OOT was kind of in the middle, in that regard). As for the thing about how dark they were, I actually didn't find LTP's Dark World to be all that dark. Sure, the storyline was sort of dark, but when you're actually walking around it doesn't look any less fairytale-ish to me than TWW. It's just in 2D instead of 3D. (I mean, really; you go to a place called the Lake of Ill Omen, and what do you find? A giant fish thing that gives you the Quake Medallion when you toss a rock at it). I found OOT to be the darkest in the series, though mainly because of the more realistic graphical style. I thought the storyline was a little darker than LTP's, but not much; it was mainly the graphical style, in my opinion, that made it seem so much darker than LTP. And in that regard, I think they did a good job. I loved OOT, and the Shadow Temple actually kind of creeped me out, yet still made me want to keep going to find out what was at the end. That's an effect not many games have had on me. Majora's Mask was sort of a cross between OOT and LTP for me. On one hand, the storyline is kind of dark with the whole apocalyptic moon thing and Majora's Mask, yet on the other hand the whole thing with the Skull Kid and the Four Giants seemed more lighthearted to me. And again, as Ginny kind of said, the graphical style is the same as OOT's, but the graphics themselves lend more to a less-serious feel with the Happy Masks and all the weird stuff with the people you help. (The Link being a kid thing was pretty much for storyline purposes, I think. I don't think that has much to do with the feel of the game, at least for me personally, though I did prefer the taller Link in OOT). And then, of course, you have the completely non-serious, cartoony look and feel of TWW, with just a bit of dark storyline. I'll say right now that I absolutely love the graphical style of TWW, and it reminded me a lot of LTP. (Always a good thing, seeing as it's my favorite in the series). After the really series OOT, and pretty serious MM, trekking (or sailing, as the case may be) through TWW's cartoony word was a very welcome change. And, like I said, it felt more like LTP and the pre-OOT Zeldas, which I also liked. A darker game such as OOT is nice once in a while, but for the most part, I think the more fairytale-ish approach suits the series better. So, if you couldn't tell from the last six paragraphs, The Wind Waker is my favorite out of the three 3D Zelda games so far. Ocarina of Time follows three spaces behind, with Link's Awakening and Oracle of Seasons between it and TWW on my favorite list. Majora's Mask, sadly, falls into second-to-last place on the list, though not because of anything talked about above. (It's almost all because of the [expletive deleted] time limit). I could go on about each game for hours, comparing them to one another in tons of different ways, but I'll stop now. :toothy:

What would I do if OtakuBoards were to shut down? Simple. I'd get together a group of former OB staff, and we'd make a new board: ObwakuBoards. It would be hard, starting all over from scratch, but I wouldn't stop until the dream was realized. And what a dream it would be. It'd have a "Memory of OtakuBoards" forum, where people could post about their favorite memories from OB, and just discuss the "good ol' days" of when OB was still around. It would be... *gets teary-eyed* ...beautiful.

Right, seeing as I know absolutely nothing about FFX, I'm completely winging this post. Sorry if it's not at all accurate. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Zidane groaned as he came to. "Am I dead?" "If only," Cecil coughed. It felt like a lung was going to come up, but thankfully, it didn't. "Har har," Zidane said as he slowly stood up. "You so deserved that, and you know it. Now make with the healing." "Maybe I did," Cecil admitted; they hadn't exactly given Zidane a warm welcome. "Bottoms up," he said, and then drank the Ether all in one gulp. "Well, there went 10,000 Gil, but I think you'll agree it was worth it. Cure 2! Cure 2!" Casting the spell once on each of them, they suddenly felt much better for wear, though they still hobbled a little. "Ethers cost 10,000 in your world?" "Indeed. And I don't have many left, out of the ones I started with in this little 'game.' " "You were right, though, I'll agree it was worth it. So where are we?" Cecil pointed up, and Zidane's gaze followed. "Does that bridge way up there look at all familiar?" "Oh...yeah." Cecil nodded. "I'd say you deserved it almost as much as I did." "Hey, at least--" "But," Cecil cut him off, "Now is not the time to point fingers. We've got to find a way back up to the temple." "You wish to reach the temple above?" Both Cecil and Zidane spun around at the voice, startled. "Heck yeah," Zidane said. The old man, whom the voice had come, from raised an eyebrow at Zidane. Elbowing Zidane in the side, Cecil said, "Yes, we do. Do you know a way up?" "Heheh, indeed I do," the man said. "If you'll follow me...." And so they did, walking behind the old man into the shadow of the temple above. "How can you see anything under here?" Zidane complained as he stubbed his toe for the second time. "You may stop now. We have arrived." As he said this, hundreds upon hendreds of torches sprung to life all up along the temple's support pillars, illuminating the longest Chocobo track either survivor had ever seen. It started not ten feet from where they stood, and wound its way up between the pillars until it finally ended on a ledge near the entrance to the temple. Also nearby was a small Chocobo stable, with a small selection of racing Chocobos. "Awesome," Zidane said as he tried to follow the track up around the pillars with his eyes, eventually losing sight of the right path in the many twists and turns. "Think you can beat me in a race?" the old man said. It was obviously more a challenge than a question.
Originally posted by gamemasterkev00 I've been waiting for the next Mario Kart since the N64 one!
Did you miss Super Circuit on the GBA or something? I think that one's the best out of the current three. But anyway, it looks as though I probably won't be getting a PS2 this Christmas either. Still too dang many GCN and GBA games that I want more. I'll be getting F-Zero GX when it comes out in August, and then I'll hopefully have enough money for Mario Kart: Double Dash by the time it comes out in November. Then I'll have to wait till Christmas to get Super Mario Advance 4 and Sword of Mana, and maybe another GBA game. Then I'll save the money that I'll get from my birthday shorty after Christmas for FF Crystal Chronicles. So many games, so little money. >_

I could swear that's violating some sort of noise restriction, Arik thought as he waited in line for breakfast, trying not to cringe at the screeching coming from a nearby table. "Hey, Whitey, soup's up!" Arik smiled wryly at the nickname, and held out his bowl to be filled. "You know I hate that name," he said. "But thanks anyway for the breakfast...Teddy." "Oooh, I'll get ya for that one!" Ted bellowed as Arik turned away to find somewhere to sit. The pickings were sparse this morning, but if at all possible, Arik wanted to sit far, far away from the screeching girls. A simple Mute spell--that's all it would take, he thought as he passed by the table and headed to the other side of the room. Well, at least there's a table with only a couple people at it. Sitting down without even a glance at the other two people, other than acknowledging that they were there, he began to eat his breakfast. Staring down into the bowl, he ate spoonful after spoonful with a constant rhythm, not even noticing the strange look he was being given from the girl at the other end of the table. "Did you even notice what was in that?" The voice finally came, and Arik looked up. "No, not really. Food is food; it keeps you going. Taste is merely a side effect." "You really think that way?" the girl asked. Arik shrugged. "I've tasted worse," he said before draining the last of the bowl. "Not much fazes you, does it, Arik?" A new voice, this one from Lieutenant Leo Tantosen, sitting across from the girl. "Ah, Lieutenant," Arik said as he did a small salute with his spoon, twirling it between his fingers as he would his staff. "Indeed, not much." With an abrupt change of subject, he said, "So who's the new girl? I haven't seen you around before." "I'm Rydia, um...sir?" Arik chuckled as he stood up to shake Rydia's hand. "Captain Arik Farrel--Arik will do fine, though." And, for the first time since he sat down, he cracked a smile. "Nice to meet you." Leo again, with a reassuring voice and a grin to match. "See, friendly people."
