1. Well, I don't plan on getting one. I just got a GBA SP a couple months ago, so I figure I really don't need another thing that plays GB/GBA games. I'd rather get another GCN game (F-Zero GX in August) than a GBP. Also, my GCN wouldn't fit in my system house with a GBP attached. (The system house was designed for an N64, which isn't exactly a tall system). So yeah, I'm perfectly happy with my GBA SP. I really don't even notice the small screen once I start playing, and with the SP there aren't any problems with lighting either. Also, the SP is portable, and I really like being able to stick it in a pocket to take with me. I'd only say to get the GBP over a GBA/SP if you're always going to be playing at home and would never use the GBA's portability.
2. I thought they started taking more beta testers, though? At least for the PC version, anyway. Just take a look at this: http://www.square-enix-usa.com/notice.html Maybe that ended too, though, I don't know. I would've tried for a spot, but I don't think my PC can run it. Plus I don't have near enough free space on my hard drive.
3. Ahh. . . . The break was nice, but it feels good to be back. Gave me time to replenish my creative juices. :toothy: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lulu remained speechless as she stared at the figures in the water. Finally, to break the silence, Cecil jumped forward and tackled Auron from behind, sending them both underwater amid much thrashing. As the two came back up, everyone was laughing, Cecil included. Auron just glared at him for a moment, and then returned the favor with a tackle of his own, catching Cecil off guard. Again they both plunged beneath the surface amid much splashing and kicking. It took a while for them to come back up this time, and when they finally did, both were caughing, sputtering, and gasping for air. "Alright," coughed Cecil, "you can give as good as you get." His scraggly white-blue hair was plastered down around his head, looking almost like a large jellyfish had attached itself to his head. "Yes, and you'd best remember it," Auron commented with with wry grin. "There is one thing I can do that you can't, though," Cecil remarked as he returned the grin. "Oh?" "Watch." Cecil pointed down at the water. "Float!" Up from the water, Cecil rose to the surface until he was was seemingly standing on its surface. "I can walk on water!" Zell stared as Cecil walked about. "How many uses do you have for that spell!" "Too many for his own good," Auron said as he grabbed Cecil's legs and pulled him underwater as he walked by. The Crimson Warrior then sat on his back, the float spell keeping him above the surface while Cecil was face down in the water. Some muffled gurgling was heard from Cecil as he thrashed about, finally throwing Auron off his back as he flipped over, before returning to an upright position in the water with the Float spell having worn off. Now it was Cecil's turn to glare. "And here I was thinking you were some courteous knight, Sir Auron." "Like you're one to talk, mister Paladin," Auron shot back. "That was just plain rude, though." "And tackling someone from behind isn't?" "Less so that yanking someone underwater and using them as a water float, yes." "Hey, guys, cool it!" Zell yelled at the two. Silence, as Cecil and Auron looked at him. They glanced back at each other; back at Zell. Then they both tackled him together. "AAAGGHHMMPPHHH!"

OOT help
Originally posted by Mystik i can help you a great deal, i just need to know what floor your on, and a description of the room.
Um . . . considering that she got banned, I don't think she's going to be able to provide any more info on where she's stuck or ask for any more help. And as such, there's not much point to keeping this open. Thread Closed
5. Yep, that's another one. That's not all, though. There's still one more.
6. No, yes, and no. You aren't actually required to get the Great Fairy's Mask. You only need it if you want to collect the Stray Fairies in the temples. And you don't have to use the Giant's Mask to defeat Twinmold. Like the other bosses, the Hero's Bow works too.
7. No, I'm not counting the boss remains. Like I said, I'm talking about the 20 Happy Masks, nothing else. :cross: And the Garo's Mask is one of them, but it's not the only one.
8. I haven't seen any commercials, but I did see the movie from E3. I have to agree, the game does look fantastic, and I think they modeled Link really well. I'm going to have to at least rent it when it comes out, if only just to play as Link, heh. ^_^
9.
Originally posted by Mystik no offense, but your a stuborn 4$$
No offense, but if you keep flaming people you're going to end up banned. I suggest you read the rules before continuing to post. Other people are free to express their opinion, and disagreeing with it doesn't give you the right to insult them. And just for the record, The Legend of Zelda was released in the US in July 1987. You can find the release dates of all the games on Zelda.com.
10. Answer: You first see him in the dungeon of Figaro Castle. Question: In the SNES version of FFVI (don't know about the PSX version), what name is used for the enemies that later became known as Tonberrys? (As in, what was their name changed from for the later games?)
11. Yes, you are required to get the Deku Mask, Goron Mask, and Zora Mask. That's why I said "(That's not including the four transformation masks)." I'm saying, which of the other 20 Happy Masks are you required to get in order to beat the game? Nope, it's fewer than six. Most of the Happy Masks are completely optional. I'm also looking for which ones they are, though, not just how many. ^_^
12. The answer is simple: He keeps his various items secured in his tunic using Hylian Velcro. ;) (I never get tired of that joke, heheh). But yes, this thread isn't going to lead to any good discussion. It'd probably just end up with a bunch of people saying how they voted on the poll, which defeats the purpose of the poll in the first place while adding spam to the thread. 13. They've already done comics and cartoons, and both were really bad. (Well, except for the A Link to the Past comics that ran in Nintendo Power). They were a good idea, but they turned out bad. If they were to actually do them good (a whole comic series as good as the LTP ones in NP, or a decent cartoon series), that would be great. I'd love to see them, and I'm sure it would help draw in people that have never played the games. As for a movie, I've never and probably won't ever think they could do a decent one with live action. Not unless I actually see it and like it. I think they should stick to animated stuff, in which case a cartoon series would probably be better anyway.
14.
Originally posted by hiachi In order to save the carpenters, you have to fight the Gerudu ninja-people, one for each carpenter you save, since they just happen to have the keys to the jail cells...:wigout:
Um . . . he didn't get my question right. You should be answering my question, not his, since mine hasn't been answered yet. :)
15. Lol, all 20? You don't need all of them; you don't even need half of them, actually. You only need all 20 to get the Fierce Deity's Mask, which also isn't required to beat the game.
16. If the soundbytes thing is used, I'd want there to be an option to turn them off; same with the profile themes. I hate it when there's sound on a website and no way to turn it off, especially if I'm already listening to music and it interferes. Perferably there'd be play/stop/volume controls for the profile themes right in the profile, too, to override your default setting. That way, if you didn't want to hear them automatically when you view the profile, you could turn them off in your options and then only listen to the ones you want using the controls in peoples' profiles. Edit: Yeah, the sizes do go bigger than that. I think he's right, though, you shouldn't be able to set above size 2 in your profile. That would just get annoying. Size 6 Size 7
17. Yeah, that's why I subscribe to both Nintendo Power and EGM. Nintendo Power for the more in-depth coverage of Nintendo games, and EGM more for reviews and news about the non-Nintendo systems/games. I usually just skim over the reviews section in NP.
18. Answer: Well, there's a few that you can get right at the start. There's the Great Fairy's Mask, the Blast Mask, the Bremen Mask, and Kafei's Mask, all of which you get right in Clock Town. You can get any of them first. Question: In Majora's Mask, how many and which of the 20 Happy Masks are you required to get in order to beat the game? (That's not including the four transformation masks).
19. Wait, sorry, I got mixed up. It is 15 pounds, not 20. Sorry about that. Answer: They removed the chanting sounding bits from the Fire Temple music. Question: In A Link to the Past, you're only required to use the Flute and use the bird to warp you somewhere once. What is that one time, and why is it required?
20. I subscribe to EGM, and they don't really seem very anti-Nintendo. Most of the first/second party games have been getting pretty good review scores, up there with the big PS2 and Xbox games. They seem about as unbiased as you're going to get in a gaming magazine--at least to me. As for another game with multi-player like Perfect Dark's. . . . Why not just go play Perfect Dark? :cross: I mean, really, if it's basically the same thing, I'm not going to spend more money on it. I'd want something that's new and has improvements. Something that'd be like the step up to Perfect Dark from GoldenEye 007. But yeah, like James said, you're kind of contradicting yourself with that. You say you want new, different games, but then you say you want a game with the same multi-player as Perfect Dark. Which is it?

*cough*

You know, in the back of my mind, I sort of knew this was coming ever since I saw that pic of Mitch wearing the shades and reading Ginny's comment on how he looked sort of like a young Auron. Still, that didn't lessen the feeling of "whhhyyyyy...?" (Okay, so that's maybe not too good a way to describe the feeling, but I can't think of anything better; it's hard to describe). Good job, though. . . . I guess. . . . On that . . . image . . . thingy. . . . :twitch:
22. Well, the text is the official Chrono Trigger logo. So, there's not much I can do with it. And the background is actually from the game itself; it's the background for when you're fighting Lavos, the end boss. I used it for a few different reasons. First, I needed something fairly bright, so that the logo would be easily visible. Second, it looks related to the graphics for when you're going through a time gate in the game. Third, I just think that background is cool, heh. Also, I wanted the background to be related to the game somehow, and that was the best one I could find that wasn't too dark. I guess a couple of those things you'd really have to have played the game to recognize, though. (The background being from the end boss fight and looking a bit like going through a time gate). Seems most of my gaming banners are like that, though, since I'm making them from the perspective of someone that's played the game a lot. I did use some blurring effects on the background to make it less pixelated, though. So it could be worse. :whoops:
23. Been playing this game a lot lately, so I decided to go get some official art and make a banner. Seems like you can tell what my latest video game obsession is by looking at my current banner, heh. Anyway, if you can't see it in my sig for some reason, here it is: http://www.angelfire.com/ex/desbreko/ChronoTrigger.jpg So what do people think?
24. Yeah, I was having this problem too. What it was doing was saying that it was five hours earlier than it really was, at least for me. So anything I posted was placed as if I had posted it five hours earlier, thus causing it to be above other posts even though they were already there when I replied. Like others have said, though, seems to be cleared up now. Haven't had any problems today, it was just last night.
25. Okay, first off, Link doesn't get reincarnated. Most of the Links in the series are different Links, with little or no relation to others in the series. (A few games have the same Link, such as OOT/MM and OOS/OOA). Aryll is Link's sister, but the Link in TWW is a different Link than the ones in the other games. In short, the Links in the Zelda series are, for the most part, completely different people. And about getting a PS2 because it can play DVDs, yeah, I can see how that could influence someone's choice. But the thing is, you could have just gone out and got a $75 DVD player and a GCN and you'd still be paying $25 less than if you got a PS2. (This would be back when the PS2 was $300 and the GCN $200, anyway). So yeah, I don't really see how being able to play DVDs would make that much of a difference. Edit: Well, yeah, a new hero arises when one is needed. What I was saying, though, is that the hero is a different person each time. It's not the same person getting put into different bodies (reincarnation), it's completely different people becoming new heroes each time.
