  1. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Shinobi1827 [/i] [B]Lady K, that's not fair. Not everyone has seen that movie. What about us? [/B][/QUOTE] [color=indigo]Life isn't fair. If you haven't seen the movie, then you can't answer the question, simple as that. Just wait for another question to be asked. If we wanted to make these quizzes "fair," we'd only be asking questions that everyone would be able to answer. And how would that be any fun? The point of these quizzes is to think of questions that will be hard to answer, to make it a challenge. If every question were really easy to answer, I know I'd sure get bored of the quiz really quickly. So, yeah, if you don't know the answer to a question, just wait for it to be answered and a new one to be asked. If you haven't seen the movie/played the game that the question is from, well, you're just out of luck. I mean, go take a look at the Zelda Quiz. It's the oldest of both the Otaku Series and Otaku Gamer quizzes, and has been running smoothly ever since it started. If someone asks a question in there and I (or someones else) hasn't played the game that the question is from, I wait for someone else to answer. Simple as that. There's no need to post up multiple questions to make sure everyone has a chance to answer. Sorry if I sound a bit annoyed, but I kind of am. Not at any person, really, but just at how the Final Fantasy and Pokémon quizzes seem to be kind of falling apart. (FF more than Pokémon, though). I'm just trying to keep these things together and running smoothly. I'm not directing this at just you, Shinobi1827, but at everyone who's participating in the quiz.[/color]
  2. [color=indigo]Nope, the Hurricane Spin isn't limited by your Rupees. It's simpler than that. ^_^[/color]
  3. [spoiler][color=red]Do you mean something like this?[/color][/spoiler] [color=indigo]That is, text with a black background? To do that, the vB code would be this:[/color] [s[i][/i]poiler][c[i][/i]olor=red]Do you mean something like this?[/c[i][/i]olor][/s[i][/i]poiler]
  4. [color=indigo]Here's my current Winamp skin and wallpaper. The winamp skin I haven't changed in a long, long time, but the wallpaper I changed a little under a week ago. Decided I wanted a change from all the Zelda: The Wind Waker wallpaper I had been using, [url=http://www.angelfire.com/alt/desbreko/WinampSkin.jpg]Winamp Skin[/url] [url=http://www.angelfire.com/alt/desbreko/Des-ktop.jpg]Des-ktop[/url] The Winamp skin is a pic of Link fighting Volvagia, from Zelda: Ocarina of Time. One of my favorite official art pics from the game, and in my opinion, one of the best Zelda Winamp skins out there that I've seen. As for the wallpaper, well, I've been playing Metroid Fusion a lot lately, so I decided to go with a MF wallpaper when I changed from an old TWW wallpaper. I wish I could get a Metroid Zero Mission wallpaper, but there isn't any wallpaper for that yet, let alone art. And as for the icons on the desktop, I made most of them out of pics that I have. And when the Recycle Bin has something in it, it turns blue-purple so it looks like the Metroid Fusion logo instead of the Metroid Prime logo. ^_^[/color]
  5. [color=indigo][b]"If you answer a question, please post a new question."[/b] That means [i]do not post[/i] an answer unless you also post a question. If you can't think of a question, wait till you do to answer. This is the last time I'm going to put up a question for someone. If I see any more answers without a new question with them, I'm just going to delete the post. [b]Question:[/b] In FFIV, what spell did FuSoYa and Golbez kill Zemus with?[/color]
  6. [color=indigo]In that last one, it looks to me like an area out of Super Metroid, on the surface of Zebes. The black areas are rough rock platforms, with the grey areas being the stormy sky behind them. . . . Okay, I think I've been playing too much Metroid lately. That's two of them that I see something from a Metroid game in, lol. I think my favorite is the green one, though. That one really jumped out at me, and I really like the color green. (It's second only to violet, for me). ^_^[/color]
  7. [color=indigo]Walking out through the immense library doors beside Zara, Ariel found herself in a rundown old street, abondoned buildings lining each side. When the huge doors slid shut behind her, Ariel turned around to see that the library looked no different from its surroundings on the outside. To a casual observer on the street, it would be hard to tell that it was occupied. Its walls were scored and cracked, with graffiti coverering most of the surface. Ariel shivered, even though it was late afternoon and not at all cold. "It makes me want to go back inside," she said as they continued walking down the dirty sidewalk. "You get used to it after a while." Ariel looked about, staring as a few bums leared at them. She couldn't imagine how she would ever be able to get used to this, but she hoped Zara was right. As it turned out, their journey to Zara's apartment complex was rather uneventful. Other than some drunk coming up and asking them for some "entertainment," to which his answer was a sharp smack on the hand from Zara's scepter, they encountered no one and there was little talk between them. "This is it," Zara finally said as she stopped and ran a keycard through a slot in the door of a large building. The door slid open with a small groan, and Ariel follewed her in. The lobby of the apartment complex looked old and slightly dusty, and the pair hurried through into the elevator leading up to the apartments themselves. The door slid closed behind them, and Zara punched one of the many buttons on the wall. Ariel blinked. "56?" Zara looked over to Ariel, a blank look on her face. "Yes?" Ariel looked away shyly. "Nothing. . . . That's just the floor of the library that I appeared on." "The top floor?" Ariel nodded silently, remembering the view from the windows. "Well, this building goes a lot higher," Zara said and gestured two the rows of buttons by the door, the highest of which was labeled '82.' "Do you have . . . windows in your apartment?" The memory still pained her, the sight of the huge, all-encompassing city staining the land with its pollution. A slightly quizzical look this time. "Yes. Why?" "Nothing, I. . . . Nothing." She shook her head, ridding herself of the memory as the elevator doors slid open and they stepped out into the hallway. "Sorry." "Don't worry about it. Like I said, you get used to it after a while," Zara said as she slid the keycard through the lock mechanism on another door, this one opening into her apartment. Stepping inside, Ariel looked around. The apartment and few pieces of furniture were rather plain, though by no means rundown. Much like the library, the inside of this building was much nicer than its outward appearance suggested. "I only have one bed, but there's a sofa over there." Zara gestured at a sofa against the wall in the back-left corner of the room. "You can take your pick." Ariel drew a blank. "What?" "To sleep on." "Oh. The sofa is fine, thanks." She walked over and sat down on the sofa; it was comfortable enough, and wouldn't be too hard to sleep on. In fact, sleep was sounding pretty good. It had been a long walk and she was tired, the sun having set about an hour ago. She yawned. "Tired?" Ariel nodded, in the middle of another yawn. "I suppose it is getting late. I think I'll be going to bed too. If you get hungry or anything, help youself." Zara pointed over at the small kitchen area off on the other side of the room, and then walked down the hall to the apartment's one bedroom. [center]~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~[/center] The next morning, Zara found Ariel already up, sitting on one of the stools next to the counter in the kitchen area. She was peeling an orange out of a fruit bowl, and the dawn sunlight was streaming in through the window on the east side of the room, across from the door. "Sleep okay?" Zara asked. She glanced over at the open window, then back at Ariel, who was smiling as she ate the orange. "Fine, the sofa was great." "Hmm, good. You know, I don't think you ever told me which Ancient Force you are." Ariel blushed slightly before answering. "Oh, I'm sorry. I'm Starlet." "Ah, okay. I'm Atomos." "Okay. So, what are we going to do today?" Ariel asked, cheerful and smiling once again as she finished the orange.[/color]
  8. [color=indigo]Heheh, I laughed so hard when I first started reading your comics. And they're just as weird as they were when you first started them. I can't wait to see what you do with these two guys robbing the place.[/color]
  9. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by James [/i] [B][color=#808080]Is it supposed to be [i]funny[/i]?[/color] [/B][/QUOTE] [color=indigo]Lol, I thought it was. I didn't see it as bashing Nintendo at all, just a simple joke. :cross: But really, is [url=http://otakuboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18002]this[/url] any better? That was posted by Charles, who later became an admin, and it wasn't even closed. I think it's good to have a little joke every now and then, as long as it doesn't get too spammy.[/color]
  10. [color=indigo]Probably the next game I'll be getting is F-Zero GX for the GameCube. Yeah, I know that's quite a ways off (few months), but I have another purchase planned in between there (video capture card for my PC, so I can take screens and movies of games by hooking my GCN up to my PC), and I just don't get that much money. Maybe if I manage to get a summer job I'll be able to get something else first, but I don't know yet. As for why I want F-Zero GX, it's partly because I'm starved for a good racing game, and partly because I love F-Zero games. They're always fast-paced, have awesome tracks, and I like being able to blow up other racers by slamming them into walls. It'll also be a good multi-player addition to my GCN game collection. Right now the only multi-player game I have is SSBM, and kind of Zelda: TWW with the GBA connection).[/color]
  11. [color=indigo]The thing is, if we close this and make a new thread, it's not going to make any difference. The rules have been posted in this one, it's just that people are answering question with wrong answers, and then people get confused about which question to answer. [b]Even though it's been said to go back to the original question.[/b] I checked, by the way, and FFIII is the first to have summoned monsters. And people, if you don't know the complete answer, don't post. If you think you know it, that's okay, but if you know that you're missing part of the answer, just don't post. All it does is clutter up the quiz, which can cause confusion. Anyway, I guess I'll ask a question for Zeh. [b]Question:[/b] In FFIV, what color is Kain's hair? (And no, I'm not talking about art, I mean in the game itself).[/color]
  12. [color=indigo][b]Answer:[/b] There's a switch in the floor of that big room with the tall platforms that you have to hit with a bomb. Once you hit the switch, the block around the Heart Container Piece will disappear. [b]Question:[/b] In A Link to the Past/Four Swords, in the LTP remake, the Hurricane Spin is limited by how much magic power you have. How is the Hurricane Spin limited in FS?[/color]
  13. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by MysticBabe [/i] [B]The wind waker takes place after the timeline with ganan in it from OOT. You know when link returned to his 10 year old self at the end of OOT? All the other games took place after then. The Wind Waker took place hundreds of years after the timeline where ganan was in power. So basically we now have two timelines. Quite gensius of them to do that. Its like starting all over again with the series. [/B][/QUOTE] [color=indigo]Um . . . how does that work? There's only one Hyrule in OOT; Link getting sent back to his childhood doesn't create two different worlds in which two different timelines could take place. Link just gets sent back so that he can live through those seven years that he missed. After seven years passed, he would be an adult again, it's just that Ganon would never have ruled over Hyrule during those years since he'd be sealed away in the Sacred Realm. So, yeah--same world, just different times. Personally, I think TWW is set between OOT/MM and LTP, same as I always thought. I'm still developing theories, but basically, I think it fits. Because if you look back at the story in LTP, it talks about an ancient race of people that were known as the Hylia (plural being Hylians), who forged the Master Sword and who faught to imprison Ganon in the Sacred Realm/Golden Land. (This is in the intruction booklet, by the way). So if you notice, the people are no longer called Hylians, as in OOT; they're called Hyrulians in LTP. That means it's a different people than in OOT. My guess is that that Great Sea did eventually subside and Hyrule was once again uncovered, with Ganon sealed away in the Sacred Realm again. ([spoiler]Didn't the King of Hyrule, when he touched the Triforce, wish that the oceans would come down and drown Ganon?[/spoiler] I'm not sure, I'll have to go beat the game again, but I think that was basically it). The handfull of people left on the islands would repopulate Hyrule, and then eventually the story of LTP would take place when Ganon attempts to break out of the Sacred Realm (aka the Golden Land/Dark World) again. Like I said, I'm still developing theories to explain more of [i]why[/i] I think that, but I think it'll work. There'll be some guesswork involved, but there always is when dealing with the Zelda timeline.[/color]
  14. [color=indigo]This game sounds like [i]so[/i] much fun! Reading that reminds me of when me and my friends would get together and play Gauntlet Legends on the N64, with all of us arguing over items, treasure, and health, while also trying to just stay alive. I'm definitely getting this game when it comes out. Do you know the release date?[/color]
  15. [color=indigo][img]http://www.shineget.com/link.gif[/img] [b]Character Name:[/b] Link [b]Character Personality:[/b] Highly determined, Link races with a will to win. Being a young boy, though, he's also in it for the fun of the racing. He has a good-natured sense of humor, and highly enjoys the use of items to add more excitement to the races. [b]Home:[/b] Hyrule [b]Other:[/b] Don't make fun of the tunic, and no one gets hurt. . . .[/color]
  16. [color=indigo]Weird . . . I don't really see anything in the Spirit one.[/color]
  17. Drawing his Crystal Sword, Cecil took up a fighting stance, his gaze darting this way and that looking for the monster. Suddenly a thick vine darted out from the left side of the trail, wrapping itself around Cecil's ankle. [color=teal]"It's alive!"[/color] Cecil yelled as he swung his sword down to sever the vine. Quickly shaking it off and regaining his balance, he looked up to see a huge plant monster standing in the middle of the trail, long vine-tentacles extending out towards them. At the same time, Rinoa threw her Blaster Edge, the weapon flying out to chop two huge vines clean off the monster. They dropped to the ground just inches infront of the pair, still slightly wriggling and twitching, as Rinoa's weapon returned to her hand. The monster screamed, though neither of them could tell quite how the monster was making the noise, and reared back. Cecil took this opportunity to dash in close, slashing off the remaining vine tentacles. After this, Rinoa's Blaster Edge again swept through the air to land a blow on what looked to be the creature's head, and Cecil finished the monster with a deep stab through its middle. Pulling his blade from the limp monster, Cecil grimaced at the green ooze running down the its length. [color=teal]"It must be nice, fighting at a distance,"[/color] Cecil said as he wiped his sword off. Eying the fatal stap wound which had finished the monster off, Rinoa noticed that she could see all the way through it to the ground beneath. Making a face, she said, [color=blue]"An up-front approach seems to do the job, though. Lets keep going."[/color] After walking for a bit, Cecil spoke up. [color=teal]"Hey, I've got an idea."[/color] [color=blue]"What is it?"[/color] [color=teal]"Haste!"[/color] An orangish-red light played across their bodies, and then they were traveling twice as quick all of a sudden. Rinoa blinked as the two sped up the trail, going as fast as if they were running, but feeling as if they were walking. She smiled, saying, [color=blue]"Let the others run and tire themselves out while we go the same speed without stopping to rest."[/color] Cecil grinned. [color=teal]"Exactly."[/color]
  18. [color=indigo]Yep, that's correct. Tellag learns Meteo and Cecil gets the Legend sword. Ask away. :)[/color]
  19. [color=indigo]The room on top of Mt. Ordeals is called the Hall of Mirrors, so that's what I'm talking about.[/color]
  20. [QUOTE][i]Originally posted by Mei [/i] [B][color=green]*Can't wait for Des to get on and totally rant this guy.*[/color] [/B][/QUOTE] [color=indigo]As tempting as it is, he did just sign up, so I'm not going to really rant. I'm just going to delete the posts and point him to the rules. :toothy: Anyway, you [i]should[/i] read the [url=http://www.theotaku.com/rules.shtml]rules[/url] before continuing to post on OB, GreatDeitylink. Double posting, let alone quadruple posting, is against the rules here. If you want to add something to a post, please just use the "Edit" button. About who asks a question, I think Insane Idiot did pretty well. He got all but one, so I think he should ask.[/color]
  21. [color=indigo]Right, Semjaza asked me to ask a question, since he can't think of anything. So, here goes. . . . [b]Question:[/b] In FFIV, what two things do you get in the Hall of Mirrors?[/color]
  22. [color=indigo]Almost all of my posts are posted using the quicky reply feature too, but I don't think a quick attachment feature would be all that more convenient. I mean, really, how often do you need to attach something? I barely ever post attachments, and when I do want to post up an image or images, I usually just use [img] tags.[/color]
  23. [color=indigo]Nope, it's not a flute. It's the only one of its kind in the Zelda series.[/color]
  24. [color=indigo]In the green one, I see some high, rocky, jagged cliffs with a waterfall going over them on the right, and the sky up above. The orange one reminds me of Gohma from Zelda: The Wind Waker because of the color and the pattern. (Gohma is the boss of Dragon Roost Cavern, the first dungeon). These are really cool. You should do a blue one next. ^_^[/color]
  25. [color=indigo]You got all but the one for the original Legend of Zelda right. It's similar to a whistle, but not quite. Try again. :)[/color]
