Wait...are you asking about which Espers you fight, or just other enemies that have the same name as an Esper? I don't remember any monsters having the same name as any Espers. And yeah, if you use Vanish, Chupon can't blow you off until the end. (Since you've got to go sometime, to get down onto the Floating Continent). After that, though, it shows the little animation of it dying. I'm just wonder if it'll show up in the Coliseum now, since I saw it die. Guess I should go look some time.

Yeah, I live in America, so I could send it in if I wanted. I don't have $75, though. I think I'll try cleaning off the system. It is a bit dusty, though not very much. What should I use to clean the lens, though? I'm thinking just a slightly damp cloth, like you'd use to clean the discs. Would that work?

Um, if you want to just talk about the game, there's already a thread for that. This thread has to do with the pre-orders in the US (and about how TWW got more than GTA: Vice City, specifically), which are over now. So, I don't think this thread has much purpose anymore... Answer: Four. Great Fairies in TWW don't have legs. :toothy: Question: In The Wind Waker, one of the pieces of the Triforce has gotten broken up into eight sections, and you have to find them. There is also another game in the series that has you searching for eight broken up sections of one of the pieces of the Triforce. Which game is it, and what Triforce piece do you have to reassemble in each game?

*eyes Flash* >_> Answer: Ultimate WEAPON - Black flying dragon one. Diamond WEAPON - White one that attacks Midgar. Emerald WEAPON - One that attacks Junon, and the one that you fight underwater. Ruby WEAPON - The red one in the desert around the Gold Saucer Some people also think that the one that attacks Junon is a different WEAPON. Like Tasis said, there was a little argument over that earlier in the thread. Personally, I think there's only the four that I listed above, but people have decent reasons for both sides. So, if you were looking for that supposed fifth one in the answer, it's only ever mentioned as "Weapon" in the game, for its name. Question: In FFVI, when you first go to the Floating Continent, you get attacked by a bunch of Imperial troops on the way. Towards the end of that sequence, you end up fighting Ultros and Chupon. In that fight, how do you defeat Chupon? (And yes, it is possible, I've done it).

Okay, this is really weird. Sometimes me or my brother will be playing The Wind Waker, and when we go through a door or something where it has to load a bit, the GCN will occasionally make a weird noise and then an error message will pop up telling you to turn the power off. I've checked both the disc and the lens on my GCN, and both are clean, so I have no idea what's causing this, as it seems to just happen at random. It's never happened with any other game, either, just The Wind Waker. Has anyone else had this problem? And if so, have you been able to fix it?
Originally posted by Cyke When playing a GameCube game, my hands ache easily after almost an hour of play.
I could say pretty much the same about a PS2 controller. Personally, I love the GCN controller. It takes about ten hours, maybe more, for my hands to start aching from a GCN controller (yes, I actually know this from playing Zelda: The Wind Waker for an entire day straight), whereas with a PSX/PS2 controller, it takes about half that time for my hands to ache. Especially if the game uses the R and L buttons a lot. My point is, neither controller is really better overall. It just depends on which one you're more comfortable with. (Haven't used an Xbox controller for more than a few minutes at a time, so I can't really say anything about it, though).

You got the names right, but you got the two mixed up. The Enterprise is the one you get from Cid, and the Falcon is the second one you get. (The red one that you use in the underworld). Close enough, so go ahead and ask. :) And by the way, there is no Invincible in FFIV. Besides the two ariships, you get the Big Whale in FFIV. The Invincible is from FFIX.

Hmm, sorry about that, I guess there are four. I had completely forgotten about the Blue ChuChus in Majora's Mask, since you only find them in one or two places. Ginny got it right, with red, blue, green, and yellow.

Nope, it's not blue. Try again. ^_^

Originally, this started out as a banner for someone here on OB (which I'm going to take another shot at after I post this), but as I was making it, I realized it wasn't quite going to work for that. I still liked it, though, so I just kept going with it. This is the end result: So what do people think?

Green is right, and red is another, though it's kind of orangish, so I'll count that. There's one more color, though. :) And, uh, what? Rich girl's Moblin lover? ...What rich girl? I might know this, except I'm not sure who you're talking about. :cross:
-
Nope, both are wrong, sorry. And I'm not talking about the Big Whale, the ship that you use to go to the moon, either; just normal airships.

Ganondorf/Ganon has the Triforce of Power, Ginny, not Courage. Link has Courage. ^_^ Answer: The maximum amount of Arrows and Bombs you can carry, after getting all the upgrades, is 70 and 50, respectively. Question: ChuChus originally appeared in Majora's Mask, in a few different colors. Which colors are in both Majora's Mask and The Wind Waker? (As in, which colors are common to both games?)
Originally posted by Tricool A bad thing about the tingle tuner is that when your friend is playing as Tingle and uses a bomb it automatically drains ten rupees out of your pocket. So basically your friend can rob you blind.
Well, yeah, they're not just going to let you have unlimited bombs and stuff. I mean, if Tingle's abilities didn't cost anything, you'd almost be invincible, because you could just keep getting potions from him. The trick is to only let people you know won't just totally waste your money play as Tingle, heh. That, and it's not like Rupees are exactly rare. Sail around getting the treasure spots on the ocean for a little bit, and you can get tons of Rupees in no time. And what about the Tingle statues that you find in dungeons if you have someone playing as Tingle? You can only get those if someone is playing as Tingle, because they're just not there oherwise. (Still haven't found any, but my friend has).
Originally posted by GinnyLyn I cite the
Queen Fairy
incident.
Haha! I loved the look on Link's face at the end of that cutscene, when the King of Red Lions looks back at him. That was great. I agree, TWW does have a lot more depth of character, and I love it. You can actually tell what the characters are feeling, by their expressions. It also makes for more funny scenes, like the one mentioned in the last paragraph. And that's another thing that sets TWW above OOT, for me. About the only look Link had in OOT--besides his normal look, that is--was a shocked look, usually accompanied by a startled jump. It worked okay for OOT, but it's just so much better in TWW.

Hmm, yeah... I dunno, do people think we should turn this into a full Square Enix quiz, or just keep it as Final Fantasy? I don't really care, but I'll change the title if people decide they want it to be for all Square Enix games.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel This probably didn't need it's own thread, but I'll answer it.
You're right, it doesn't, really. So, I merged the thread with the main R/S thread.

The way this quiz works, is, you answer a question, and if you're pretty sure you got it right, ask a question of your own after your answer. Then someone will answer that question and ask one of their own, and so on. If you're not too sure about your answer, wait for the person asking the question to say whether it's right or wrong, and if it's right, then ask a question. And congratulations, Ginny, you've been awarded the Triforce of Courage for getting 33 correct answers. Check the Zelda Quiz Scoreboard to see it. :)

The trick is to throw the pigs off a cliff, so they can't swim back to shore. They just sit there swimming against the cliff. Ooo! I just thought of something: Skull Hammer *evin grin* I'm gonna have to try that next time I play. I wonder if it'll smack 'em a ways with a horizontal swing?

Heh, I like Tetra. She's cool. And Ginny, about the renaming, well, you have to realize, a hundred years have passed since the time of OOT. They're using a different language, even. Over that long a period, some names are bound to change. Something that I don't like about TWW, though, is that without having someone playing as Tingle, you can't see what the enemies are called. That's one thing I really liked about OOT and MM; you could always ask Navi/Tatl about an enemy, and see its name. In TWW, a person has to be playing as Tingle, and check what it's called on the GBA.

Okay, I played pretty much all day today, and just got into the Earth Temple. And, so far, I think I like TWW more than OOT. Having played through OOT Master Quest (which I like more than the original) just before starting TWW, I can compare the two pretty well, and OOT just doesn't grip and hold me the same way TWW does. With OOT, I could never just sit and play for hours and hours and hours. I mean, I just couldn't--I'd get tired of playing, and have to take a break. With TWW, I actually wanted to keep going instead of turning it off, after playing literally all day, but I knew I had other stuff I needed to do. The only other Zelda games to be able to hold me for that long have been A Link to the Past/Four Swords, the original LTP, and Link's Awakening. So, I think I've found a new fourth place on my list of favorite Zelda games. :)

I think he's talking about the Helmasaur King, the boss of Level 1: Dark Palace, since it's the first one you get a crystal from. (Looks like a diamond). Here's a boss strategy I wrote for it. (I also have strategies for all the other bosses in the game, if you need more help). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Boss Strategy - Helmasaur King When you fight the Helmasaur King, the boss of Level 1: Dark Palace, you have to break its mask before you can hurt it. To do this, you can either hit it with the Hammer, or throw Bombs at it. Bombs do more damage to the mask, but they're harder to hit with. The Hammer does less damage, but is easier to hit with (though you do have to get right next to it). I prefer Bombs, but I seem to be good at hitting with them, so you might want to try both methods to see which is easier for you. After you break the mask you'll see a big green spot on it's head. Now's the time to start wailing on it with you're sword. I prefer to use normal swings because there's a lot of stuff flying around the room, but you don't need a lot of speed if you know the pattern, so Spin Attacks do also work decently. As for the stuff flying around the room, the Helmasuar King will spit fireballs that will hover in place for a bit, split into four pieces, and then split again. If you don't pick up on the pattern of the fireballs, you'll want to use normal swings of your sword, like I mentioned before. If you're good, though, you can try using Spin Attacks. Another thing that you have to watch out for is the Helmasaur's tail. Every now and then, it'll wip it around at you, which can be hard to avoid if you're busy with the fireballs. For this fight, you'll really want at least two Red/Blue Potions and probably a Faerie, too. It's really easy to take a lot of damage in this fight, quicker than you might expect with all the fireballs and that tail. Your main priority in this fight should be avoiding the fireballs, actually. A good time to attack is when one batch of fireballs has disappeared, and you might even try charging up a Spin Attack during this time to hit it with.

Um...this is a Final Fantasy quiz. Kingdom Hearts isn't a Final Fantasy game. And no one has answered my question yet, in case people forgot about it.
