I pre-ordered my copy of The Wind Waker back in mid-December, heh. Gotta love GameStop for starting them early. :D I finally got to play the demo a couple days ago, but only for about two minutes. I got to fight a couple enemies and open a locked door, and that was it. Still, I thought they did the combat good. Both enemies would actually attack at the same time, unlike OOT, where you'd be fighting two Stalfos at once, but only one would actually attack at a time. I also like how they did the Spin Attack. Instead of the energy ring staying there for about a full second, it only stays there for as long as it takes to spin around. I can cheap some of the enemies in OOT so bad because the energy ring stays there for so long (especially Stalfos), it isn't even funny. You just do constant Spin Attacks, so that if the Stalfos lower their shields to attack, they immediately get hit, no matter what. So, I'm glad they fixed that. Also, the animation seemed so much better when I actually got to see it in person, instead of just watching a movie of it. Especially the bats in the dungeon, and the enemies.

Wait a minute...are you talking about normal Skulltulas, or Gold Skulltulas? Going off a pic of a Gold Skulltula that I have, it looks like 11.
-
Well, since they're spiders, I'd guess eight. How can you tell with the big skulls covering their front, though? All you can see is the two eye openings in the skull.
Originally posted by Charles What people are failing to realize here is that Sephiroth did manage to summon Meteor. Because of that, Aeris summoned Holy to counteract it. The combination of the two destroyed the Earth's entire human population.
Um...where exactly are you getting that from? Why would Holy and the Lifestream stopping Meteor destroy the entire human population? I mean, it does show Red XIII later, standing on a cliff above the ruined Midgar with his cubs. Sure, he's not human, but he was with Cloud and the rest of the team when Meteor was stopped, so I'd think that if something killed them, it would've gotten Red XIII, too.

Glad to hear you finally got a GCN, Ginny. Now we can trade items in Animal Crossing. (If you're looking for anything in particular, just tell me and I'll send it to you if I can get it. I have 2,400,000 Bells saved up, and I'm never going to be able to spend it all on myself, heh). ^_^ And bleh, I'll just ask a question in the meantime, while we wait for Eterah's Maverick to clear that up about the Moon Pearl. Question: In Ocarina of Time Master Quest, what enemy appears in The Great Deku Tree, which didn't appear in OOT until you get older?
Originally posted by sage But to my surprise, a few Ultima's from Terra, and Kefka went down like a rock! So how's that for a good match?! :grumble:
Lol, sure, Kefka might go down after a few Ultimas, but Safer Sephiroth will also go down after a few Knights of the Round. Neither of them are really all that hard if you know what you're doing and you have a decent party.

Actually, you fight him another time, too. After everyone gets back to Narshe from the Returners' hideout, after being split up into the three groups, you have to defend Tritoch (that frozen Esper) from him, which is up in the hills above Narshe. You split into three parties, and you fight a bunch of soldiers before finally getting down to Kefka himself.

I agree with Tasis and Semjaza, Kefka is definitely the best, in my opinion. Like Tasis, I was actually really pissed when Kefka killed General Leo, and killed all those Espers to get the Magicite. With Sephiroth killing Aeris, sure, I was said, but the reaction wasn't nearly as big as the reaction to some of the things Kefka did. I almost couldn't believe it when he pushed the Statues around, and ended up actually rearranging the continents. And then there was all that with the "Light of Judgement," or whatever it was called. Heck, the town of Mobliz was totally destroyed by that. But yeah, Kefka, to me, came off as a lot more evil than Sephiroth. He might not have had that same "cool" feeling about him, but he was definitely a lot nastier. Oh, and about Sephiroth summoning Meteor, which would have killed everyone... Sure, Sephiroth would have killed everyone, but Kefka took over the whole world, and made everyone fear for their lives every day, in addition to killing tons of people. I think that's worse than just straight up killing everyone. (That, and Sephiroth was stopped; Kefka actually pulled it off, and then was stopped after a whole year of ruling the world).

You get the Power Bacelet in Level 2: Snake's Remains, and you'll get the Power of Summer next. (In the northwest tower of the Temple of Seasons). :)

Yeah, I've considered disabling them before, but I didn't want to miss the ones that were actually good. I guess we'll just have to take the good with the bad, unless something happens with the limit again. (Which I liked a lot when it was in effect, since I usually don't have much more than a banner and caption in my signature, and it means not having to scroll through other peoples' really long signatures).
-
I can't stop thinking of Kraid from Super Smash Bros. Melee when I see it, because of the three eyes. :cross: It's very cool, though. It looks like it was just made to bite things' heads off, lol. :p
-
Well, you could just turn signatures off, so you won't see them. It is kind of annoying for me, too, though. (Though I have DSL, so it's not the loading that's annoying, just having to scroll past them all). And it used to actually be eight lines, and it wouldn't let you go over. I don't know what happened with that, though, but it's obviously not in effect anymore.

Um...the Moon Pearl isn't in the NP comics. How could they make a mistake about it if it's not there?

What you should do, is tell your mom that if she wants you to go to Mercer for your GE classes and stuff, she'll have to make up the difference in price, since it's so much more expensive and you wouldn't be getting anything for that extra money. I have a feeling that might discourage her a bit. :p But really, you've got Mercer, which is more expensive and doesn't offer all the classes you want. Then you've got UGA, which costs less, while offering everything you want. I don't see that as much of a choice, since UGA is obviously the better way to go. I mean, really, your mom is going to have to let go sooner or later. You can't stay at home forever.

Answer: You fight him four times. Question: In FFVI, if you go back to Vector after going through the Magitek Facility, but before you go to the Sealed Gate, what do you find?
Originally posted by Final Flash Not true, JCBaggee. It's Ultima weapon, not Ultimate Weapon. "Ultimate Weapon" is only the name of Cloud's sword.
You got it backwards, actually. It's "Ultimate WEAPON" for the WEAPON, and "Ultima Weapon" for Cloud's Sword. :p
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel Well James and I decided that your computer is simply messed up, because even when everything is working you're the only one having problems lol.
Yeah, figures, lol... Oh well, it's not too bad, I guess. As long as I can post, I don't really care which graphics are working, or which URL I have to use, or whatever. :)

Yep, the answer is 1988. The first issue of Nintendo Power was published in 1988, and my birthday is Jan 3, 1988, so both me and Nintendo Power were "born" in 1988, heh.

Doesn't work for me, no matter what I do. I've tried clearing my cache, shutting down Netscape, all sorts of things. (Same with Internet Explorer, too). Of course, I still can't get to http://www.otakuboards.com, while I can get to http://otakuboards.com, which is annoying.
-
Nope, it's earlier than that. Hint: Me and Nintendo Power have something in common, having to do with the year that the first issue was published. :D

Wasn't it something like Quick Attack, and then Body Slam?
-
You're right, both colors only take one hit in the original. One type just jumps around faster. Ask away.

The Wind Waker takes place 100 years after Ocarina of Time, so no, it's not a direct sequal. (I'm assuming that by "direct sequal," you mean that it's the same Link as in OOT, which it isn't). It's another boy named Link, who becomes the Legendary Hero. And yes, you do resue Link's sister (her name is Aryll, by the way). There hasn't been any mention of anyone named Zelda, though, so far as I know. And as to who's behind the kidnapping of Aryll, and why she was kidnapped, it hasn't been said yet. Barely anything has been said about the story so far, really. There is already a thread about The Wind Waker, though, so can we keep this thread on the subject of what we think is the best Zelda game?

Answer: The Chozo created the Metroids, for the purpose of keeping the X parasites on SR388 in check. That is right, isn't it? I'm pretty sure... I have no clue what the name Metroid means, though. Question: What year was the first issue of Nintendo Power published?

Dude, that sucks. Master Quest is awesome, it'd be a real shame to miss it. (I just beat the Water Temple, which I think is a whole lot better in OMQ than in OOT). Try a different store, or see if some place online still has a copy. Hopefully somewhere will still have one left.
