(TV14-S) What would you do/say/think if...?
Desbreko replied to GinnyLyn's topic in General Discussion
I really need to visit this forum more often, so I don't end up hearing about these things a couple weeks after they're posted and end up not replying for a long time. >_< Well, first off, I just want to say I'm sorry you're having to go through all this. No one should have to go through this, and I think you've been very strong to be able to endure it for so long. Never having been in a similar situation, I can't really give very good advice, except just to say to try and stay strong. Myself, I tend to hold things like this in, and never talk about them if I don't absolutely have to. I know how hard it is to come out and talk about things, and I think you're very brave to just come out and tell everyone like this. My respect for you hasn't diminished from learning about this, but rather, it's grown because you were able to talk about it. Like I said, I haven't been in a similar situation, so I can't really say I feel your pain. I can imagine what it must be like, but I don't think I could ever actually know. However, I can say that God knows what you're going through, and that He uses all things for good. I know it's hard to remember that sometimes, but sometimes it can help to remember that something good will come out of it all. I will definitely pray for you. And I may not know you very well, but if you ever want to talk, I'm here, and I'm a good listener, even if I can't give very good advice. -
Answer: I know Link makes a cameo appearence at the Rose Town Inn in Super Mario RPG if you stay the night, but I don't know about other characters, since that's not Zelda-related. He also appears in Tetris on the NES along with some other Nintendo characters if you beat level 9 on height 5. I dunno, does that count? Like I said, other characters making cameo appearences aren't Zelda-related, so I wouldn't know about them unless I played the game.

Yeah, I like Wet Dawn too. I was actually just kind of messing around with the camera, and decided to see how a picture would turn out if I tried taking one through my bedroom window after I wiped most of the fog off. It turned out a lot better than I expected. Before I can take any more pictures, though, I need to get some new batteries for my camera. That thing sucks down four AA batteries faster than anything else I've ever seen. >_< I decided I'm just going to get some rechargables so I won't end up spending all my money on batteries.

Actually, there are two types of Oscar things in FFVI. One type is Mad Oscars, and the other is Evil Oscars. I usually remember the Evil Oscars, because you find them in Kefka's Tower, and I'm not sure where you find Mad Oscars.

Just so you know, one word posts are against the rules. Please try to put a little more content in your posts, and I suggest you read the rules. Bleh, I'm kind of busy right now, but I'll write up a boss strategy for beating Onox when I get the time. :) Edit: Right, I wrote a boss strategy for Onox, so here it is: Onox, the General of Darkness, is the hardest boss in the game--quite fitting for an end boss. When you enter his chamber, he'll give you a short speech, and then the biggest fight in the game will start. When the fight begins, have your sword and Roc's Cape equipped. Onox will twirl his giant ball and chain mace in the air around himself, and will swing it at you every now and then. When he does this, jump over the mace with Roc's Cape, and then charge up for a Spin Attack. Then, when you're charged, hit Onox with the Spin Attack. Spin Attacks, and only Spin Attacks can harm Onox so don't bother trying to hit him with normal swings. After landing a few charged up blows, Onox will make Din, incased in her crystal cocoon, start floating in the air around himself. Be sure to avoid hitting Din, and switch Roc's Cape for the Rod of Seasons. Use the Rod to bat Din away from Onox, and then continue to use Spin Attacks on the him. When Din floats back over to Onox, bat her away with the Rod of Seasons again, and keep attacking. After you finally land enough hits, Onox will seemingly be defeated, and the floor will start to cave in. Don't worry, this is supposed to happen; just fall down through the floor. When you land, you'll be in a dark pit, and be viewing the action from a side view. Then, Onox will rise up from the dark background in his true form, a monstrous dragon with a bright red jewel on its forehead. In this form, Onox has several attacks. One of them is shooting a series of red fireballs at you, going back and forth from one edge of the screen to the other, and another consists of him shooting out tall, blue fireballs that stay on the ground. To dodge these, run back and forth across the screen when he fires the red fireballs, dodging them as they're shot at you. For the blue fireballs, dodge them as they're fired, and try not to get cornered by a bunch of them. If you have to, you can jump over them, but it can be hard to time it right so that you don't get hit by the top of them. Now, Onox's third attack actually works in your favor. Usually after a couple fireball attacks, Onox will try to smash you with one of his giant hands. Dodge the attack, and jump up onto the hand with Roc's Cape. Wait for him to raise his hand up again, and then jump off towards the other hand, slashing the red jewel on his forehead with your sword as you pass by it. Try to land on the other hand, and then jump back across, slashing the jewel with each pass. If you fall back down to the ground, you'll just have to wait till he tries to smash you again. After a good number of hits, Onox will stay down for good, and you'll restore peace to the land of Holodrum. The main trick to this fight, really, is to be good at dodging and to have enough life to take some serious hits. Be sure to have a potion with you for the fight, and the Spin Ring, which makes you spin twice with a Spin Attack, will probably be a big help for the first half of the fight. And, if you're playing a linked game, you may have the Blue Ring, which halves damage, and that helps tremendously.

Nope, no purple Rupees in the remake. They did, however, make it so you get 300 Rupees in a lot more of the secrets than in the original. In the original, there were only three secrets where you got 300 Rupees, and now there are around six in the remake. Bleh, it looks like no one's going to get the question, so I guess I'll ask another one. You don't actually need to have ever played Four Swords to be able to answer it, though, you just need to look in the instruction booklet. It tells about all the different types of Rupees in the Four Swords section, towards the back of the booklet. Question: In the remake of A Link to the Past, you get an item that you keep for the rest of the game after you get it. In the original, though, you didn't get to keep it for the rest of the game, because it gets replaced by another item. What item am I talking about?
Originally posted by Crazy White Boy I agree about that tunic though. Damn Jabroni won't leave me alone about Link's private parts! >_<
Me either. >_< Okay, so yes, the tunic isn't a whole lot shorter than in the art for, say, A Link to the Past... But still, they didn't have to add that shading down there on the tights, so that it looks almost kind of realistic. In SSBM, you got all sorts of weird shots, but it was just flat white polygons, with no shading, nothing.

Answer: Tonberrys and Malboros were originally called Pugs and Evil Oscars in FFVI. Question: In FFIV, how many different vehicles do you get throughout the game, and what are they?

I really like the new graphics that you've added so far, James. Reminds me a bit of v4, which I really liked. :) I do like the darker colors over the brighter ones, but I liked the brighter ones too. I just tend to like darker colors for pretty much everything. And I especially like dark purples and blues, and this new color scheme seems to have lots of dark blue, so that's good. Me like very much so. ^_^

Whee, I made a little site to host the photos I take with my new digital camera. Now everyone can see the wonderful pictures I take. Trust me, you won't want to miss these, lol. All of the pictures are 1024x768, so they might take a bit to load. Anyway, go to www.desbrekophotos.netfirms.com to view the site. It has links to all of the photos I've uploaded. So, what do people think of my amazing photography skills? :toothy:

Pretty much the only time I change the names of characters, is when the name is in all caps--I hate that. I always change all but the first letter into lower case letters, if I can. As such, my characters in FFVI are named Terra instead of TERRA, Edgar instead of EDGAR, and so on. Oh, and Camilla, we're only allowed one image in our signatures. Please remove on of the images in your signature. Thanks. :)

Hmm...this is weird... When I went to the Cave on the Veldt, I found Shadow, beat a couple Behemoths, then took him to Thamasa automatically. When I went back to Thamasa, I found that he had left for
the Coliseum
, and so I went and got him back there. It probably has to do with the order in which you do things, but I can't think of what. I'm pretty sure I went to Owzer's house first, like, almost right after I got the Falcon, and just went down through one of the paintings and got Relm. Then I went to the Cave on the Veldt a while later, and found Shadow there. Hmm, are you playing FFIII on the SNES, or FFVI in FF Anthology? I wonder if they changed something in the remake? I've always played FFIII on the SNES.

I knew it...they made Link's tunic too damn short. I just knew they were going to do that. *wanders off muttering random curses against Namco*
-
Well, it's only been about six months since I did that part in the game, and I know that I got Relm in the basement of Owzer's house (remembered the name!) in Jidoor. That's also the place I've always seen Relm found, when my brothers played through the game. Dunno, though, I went and got Relm before Shadow, I think, so maybe if you go to try and find Shadow first, you'll find Relm. Maybe it does depend on who you get first, but I've always found and seen Relm found in Jidoor.

Possibly...or they might give it to you when you go to reserve a copy in February. I don't think anything has been said about when the disc is being released. In Japan, they got it when they reserved the game, though, not when they went to pick it up, I'm pretty sure. And Zelda Gaiden isn't on the bonus disc. It's Ura Zelda that's on the bonus disc, along with OOT.

I like www.nintendo.com for official Nintendo news, www.gamespot.com for some previews and stuff like that, and I also subscribe to Nintendo Power and Electronic Gaming Monthly for reviews and just general info. Sometimes I'll go to IGN, but not often, and for some reason my computer just doesn't like GameSpy's sites. My browser tends to crash a lot when I view their sites. >_

Eh? Rupee Shards are all the same. And what do you mean by "big Rupee"? Hint: You don't want to pick up one of the types of Rupees, and the other three are worth more than a normal green, blue, or red Rupee.
-
Well, they could take down the servers that have all the character information and stuff, lol. It wouldn't be hard for them to stop people from playing. I've also heard the rumor that Square isn't going to have FFXI up and running for very long, but I haven't heard anything to back it up. Personally, I don't think it's true, since they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they shut the whole thing down so soon after it launched. I mean, after all they've put into it and all the money they've spent, they'd just be throwing it down the drain.

Answer: Nope, you find Shadow in the cave on the Veldt. You find Relm in the basement of that rich guy's house in Jidoor... You know, what's-his-face, with all the paintings... Bleh, I forget the name, but I know where it is, and I remember you have to fight Chadarnook, that evil thingy that's in the painting of the goddess that Relm is working on when you find her. Question: In FFVI, where can you find monsters called Intangirs?
-
You got half of them, but there are still four more types.

Addictions? Do I even need to answer that? :D Heh, but yeah, I think it's safe to say I'm addicted to video games, the Zelda series in particular. Another thing would be reading... Hmm...and potatoes, too. I don't think I've yet found a kind of potato that I don't like. (Heck, I even like them raw, lol). I think those are the only things that I'm what you could call "addicted" to. Well, besides sleep, that is. :toothy:

Yes, it is indeed illegal to download a ROM, whether you have the original game or not. Also, the thing about it being legal if you delete it within 24 hours is completely false. Here's a page on Nintendo.com that specifically says it's illegal to download a ROM, no matter what.

You got the four colors right, but you got a couple names mixed up. Joelle is red, and Beth is blue. Answer: Well, since a Fire Arrow costs 2 MP, and you can shoot 24 Fire Arrows with the double size magic meter, that means 48 MP is in the double size magic meter. So, the normal size one must have 24 MP, then. Question: In Four Swords, how many different types of Rupees are there, and what are they?
