Drake let a small smile spread across his face as he cradled Lalia's head in his lap, running his fingers through her long, soft hair. I didn't get much sleep last night either, he thought as he yawned and felt his eyelids start to droop. Slowly and quietly, so as not to wake Lalia, Drake took out his folded cloak and spread it over her like a blanket before laying back and closing his eyes. Soon he was fast alseep next to Lalia, lost in his dreams. His dreams were once again troubled, however, just as the night before. This time he seemed to be walking through dark, stony corridors, when he suddenly felt an immense feeling of terror. He started to run, glancing behind him, a growing darkness seeming to be overtaking him. As it engulfed him, he stopped, and he now seemed to be standing in a small, darkened room. He heard a deep laugh to echo from the walls, and then he was falling, falling, tumbling over and over, tensing for an impact that he knew must eventually come. Then everything faded to a blinding white, and he thought he heard voices, faint whispers, as if off in the distance. Drake awoke with a gasp and sat up suddenly, grabbing his sword and jumping to his feet, and Lalia woke with a start from Drake's sudden movement. He looked all around him, as if trying to see a hidden predator through the trees. Lalia: Drake, what's wrong? Her voice was shocked and tinged with panic, as she quickly got to her feet. Turning around to face her, he realized where he was and what he was doing. Letting out a long sigh of relief, he sheathed his sword, and sat down, wiping sweat from his forehead. Drake: Nothing...just a bad dream. Everything is okay. Sorry for startling you. Lalia: Are you sure you're okay? Drake: Yeah...yeah, I'm fine now... Did you sleep well? Lalia: Okay, I guess. Lalia's tone of voice was still a bit worried, but Drake seemed to have returned to his normal self, as he stood up again and gathered up his cloak which had been thrown aside when Lalia got up. Folding it up tight and stowing it back in a pocket, he smiled at Lalia in the early morning sun shining down through the treetops. Drake: Good! We've got lots of exploring to do today! Lalia finally smiled back, and took his hand, giving him a little kiss on the cheek at the same time. Lalia: I'm ready when you are, Drake. Drake: Good. There should be a bridge a little south of here where we can cross the river, and from there we can head farther south to Lake Hylia. Gathering up their things, the two stepped out of the trees, and onto the path into the sunshine. As they walked, they ate a little breakfast, enjoying the cool, late spring breeze rippling across the surface of the river. If all went well, they should be able to reach the shores of Lake Hylia by late afternoon.

In the original A Link to the Past, you can't dive with the Zora's Flippers, so that wouldn't count anyway. And you can be hit while using the Pegasus Shoes. Try dashing into an enemy, and line it up right so your sword just misses them, and you'll get hit. Or if, something happens to run into your back or side while you're running, it'll still hit you. Defcon5 got it right, though, the Hookshot makes you invincible while you're using it. Go ahead and ask a question. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Answer: You need the Iron Boots to sink down to the bottom of Lake Hylia, and then you need the Hookshot to hit the eye switch to open the entrance to the Water Temple. Question: In Ocarina of Time, what are the colors of each of the four Poe Sisters in the Forest Temple? (Even better if you know the names of them).

Chico is about halfway in between Sacramento and Redding... So, closer to SF than LA. But yeah, it's up in the northern half of the state. Yeah, they did release something called the Game Boy Light in Japan. It was pretty much the same as a Game Boy Pocket, but with a backlit screen. Japan gets all the cool little add-ons and stuff like that. :grumble:

Answer: Or, more specifically, a Phoenix Down. If it hits, it'll kill the Gi Natak with only one hit. And now, since you didn't ask a question, I'm stealing your spot. :p Question: In FFVI, how many times do you fight on the Opera House stage, and who/what do you fight each time?

Bleh...I wish there were peoples around where I live. I know two people on the board, but I was the one to tell them about it, so, yeah... No one in California lives up north around Chico, do they?

Okay, so maybe I was wrong about the R and L buttons... I'm starting to really want to try out the GBASP, now. If the R and L buttons feel as good or better than the original GBA, I'd probably prefer the GBASP, with the smaller size and folding screen, along with not having to buy batteries. (15 hours from two AA batteries is just not enough, heh). Hmm, I wonder if I'd be able to get enough money from selling my old GBA and maybe a couple old games that I never play anymore so that I'd be able to get a GBASP? I might just have to see about that when it's released. (Yes, I'm in that catagory of people that absolutely love new little gadgety-looking things like this, lol).

No, each F-Zero game had different effects for the R and L/Z Buttons. In the original F-Zero, all the R and L Buttons did was make your turns sharper, nothing more. In F-Zero X, it seemed like they swung the back end of your vehicle left or right, and it also seemed like it slowed you down. In Maximum Velocity, it made the whole vehicle drift left or right while still going straight, and also helped sharpen your turns. Personally, I prefer how they did it in Maximum Velocity, because being able to drift left and right while still going straight was very helpful for edging up to the outside wall when you know there's a hairpin turn coming up, or jumping over into a recharge area, and other things. I couldn't even make it past the first set of tracks in F-Zero X, because I just was not able to turn sharp enough with the way they did it. I don't know if there's some trick to it, and I just didn't know it, but there shouldn't have to be a trick to it.

Well, from reading that article on IGN.com and the preview in Nintendo Power, it sounds like a really fun game. It's been a bit since I played a good RPG, and I never played the DC version, so I think I'm probably going to get it when it comes out.

The GBA SP isn't a successor to the regular GBA, as James has said. It's not any more powerful than the GBA, and it can't play any games that the GBA can't. It's simply a bit smaller version, with a couple improvements. I really doubt that they're going to be releasing a real successor to the GBA for quite a while, considering that the GBA is still doing so well. Another thing, is that if you're always waiting for the next big thing that will come out in a couple years, you're going to be waiting forever. I'm not regretting the purchase of my regular GBA at all, even if I do want to try out this new version. I mean, I've gotten a whole lot of fun out of my GBA in about the year and a half I've had it. Personally, I don't see this as any different from the upgrade from the Game Boy to the Game Boy Pocket or the Game Boy Color. In fact, it's almost exactly the same. They made the system smaller, and added a few improvements, just like going from the GB to the GBC. With the GBC, they made it smaller, added color, and longer battery life. With the GBASP, they made it smaller, added a light, and again, upgraded the battery system.

Walking south along the river bank, Drake and Lalia watched as the sun started to sink into the western sky, glinting off the flowing water and making it appear almost as a river of gold. In fact, it looked almost like the same river in the Dark World, when it was still the splendid Golden Land, with its rolling green hills and shining rivers. As Drake was looking at the golden waters gurgling their way down to Lake Hylia, he realized what he had just done. Did I just...? I did, didn't I? I actually kissed her, and everything went fine! Trying to stay calm, he just kept walking, hoping his hand wasn't getting sweaty as he held Lalia's in his. Then a thought occured to him, which he hadn't payed much attention to until now. Drake: We should probably try and find somewhere to set up camp for the night pretty soon. Lalia: That's right... I don't think it would be a good idea to be out in the open at night. They looked around them, only to find that in was pretty much just flat ground around them for quite a ways, besides the river. Drake: Hmm...this could be a problem. Lalia: Wait, I think I see something down the path! I think it's a grove of trees or something. It was in fact a small grove of trees, with the path running through the middle of it. The pair stopped as they came to it, and looked the tall, broad leafed trees bunched together in a few clusters on either side of the path. Drake: Well, this looks to be about as good as we're going to get. It should work, though. Stepping into one of the clusters of trees on the western side of the path, they made their way to more or less the center of it and stopped. Indeed, they were no longer out in the open, as they could see nothing but trees all around in the tightly packed grove. Drake cleared a patch of ground of dead leaves, and looked down. Well, at least we won't have to sleep on a bunch of roots sticking up from the ground, he thought. They sat down on the ground, a bit of barely alive grass the only thing growing in the area besides the trees. Drake: So, where should we head for tomorrow? Lalia: I don't know, I'm not even sure what's around these parts. Drake: Hey, that reminds me... Sahasrahla gave me a map before I left! Lets take a look at it, maybe we'll be able to get an idea for where to go next. Drake pulled a rolled up map from his tunic, and spread it out on the ground. On the left half was a map of the Light World, and on the right was a map of the Dark World. Various names were written next to some of the locations, and Drake noticed that a large building called the East Palace wasn't too far away. Drake: Hey, maybe we should go to the East Palace. I think that's the first big dungeon that Link explored, so maybe we'll be able to handle it. Lalia: Maybe. Or we could go to Lake Hylia. It doesn't look like too hard a road to get there. Drake: Yeah, just over a bit of a hilly area... Hmm, a dungeon, or a lake? It looks like there are a few caves around the edges of the hills over on the south and east sides of the lake, too. I don't know, it seems like either would be a good destination. Where do you want to go?

Um...I think I understood that, but could you try and make your posts a little more readable? Punctuation is your friend, heh. But no, I haven't gotten to that part yet. The next thing I have to do is beat Serris to get the Speed Booster. I suppose I should start playing it more. Another thing I don't like is not being able to change the control setup, like you could in Super Metroid. I just can't get used to aiming diagonally up with the L Button, instead of using the R Button for it. I keep firing Missiles when I want to aim up, since I always used R to aim up in Super Metroid. >_

Nope, you can be hit while using the Pegasus Shoes. Try again.

Answer: You throw the pots in the cell next you Zelda's at it. I think it takes two to kill it, and there are three pots. Question: In A Link to the Past, what item makes you temporarily invincible, but doesn't use magic?

Oh...um...I guess I'll ask another question. And they called it Kholdstone in the comics, instead of Kholdstare. Question: In A Link to the Past, what do you find in the treasure chest in Zelda's cell in the Hyrule Castle dungeon?

I haven't played through a whole lot of it yet, but so far it's been pretty good. I do like how there's more story to it, but that also made it a bit more linear than the other Metroid games. One thing I don't like, though, is the SA-X. I don't like having to worry about it popping up at any time, and having to run like hell. I like being the hunter, not the hunted, heh.

Well, I don't push the shoulder buttons with the very tip of my index fingers. Usually I use the part of my finger past the last joint, and it doesn't really look like you'll be able to do that. I don't know, though, I guess the only way I'll really be able to tell if it's comfortable is if I play one for myself. Maybe stores will have demo units when it's released, and I'll be able to try one out then.

Actually, they came up with the name Peach in Super Mario 64, originally, though that only came out a bit before Mario Kart 64. Peach is Princess Toadstool, though--Toadstool is just her last name. Daisy was the princess that you rescued in Super Mario Land, for the Game Boy. Princess Toadstool was the original princess that you rescue in Super Mario Bros. on the NES.

Nope, it's not any of those. And if you have the issue with the Tower of Ice in it, you should be able to find the answer.

Have you ever been touched by a child's smile?
Desbreko replied to Rhys Mayiessen's topic in General Discussion
Well, I help out in the 1st and 2nd grade sunday school class at my church, so I'm around little kids quite a bit. It can be kind of tiring sometimes, but it's always nice when you get a smile from one of the kids. :) -
Drake opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. He shut it again, and then just held Lalia in his arms, softly stroking her long, silky hair. Finally, some words came. Drake: I...don't want to lose you, either. Then silence reigned once more, except for the soft rushing of the river mixed with Lalia's quiet sobs. Drake didn't know what to do. He knew he shouldn't have gotten that angry, though--he had been bordering on pure, mindless rage. Then something that Sahasrahla had told him came to mind. "You can never win with hatred alone. Even if you were victorious, darkness would consume you." All too true, Drake thought, and then noticed Lalia wasn't crying anymore. He slowly stopped stroking her hair, and used his free hand to gently lift her chin up so that he was looking down into her eyes. He said, in a faint whisper: Drake: I'm sorry... Then he leaned down and gently kissed her. It wasn't an especially passionate kiss, but a soft, slow kiss. When it was over, Drake just kept starring down in her stunning blue eyes, lost in the wonder of her beauty. Drake: You're right--I'm not ready to face Agahnim yet. Link had already been through three dungeons to recover the Pendants of Virtue and the Master Sword before he faught Agahnim. Lalia: Thank you... She hugged him again, but this time it was a loving embrace instead of a tensed squeeze. Drake: I don't know what I would do without you.

I thought Sonic 3D Blast was on the 32X or Sega CD, though? I didn't think it was on the Genesis.

Ura Zelda does have slightly re-designed dungeons, but I think the rooms are layed out in the same basic way as the normal OOT. I don't know about new enemies, but there could be. I've heard there are going to be more enemies in the dungeons, though, which is good. The bonus disc is free, although online places might charge to a bit extra for shipping it to you.
