I'm betting it got changed for some reason in the PAL version, because I know it's spelled with an "a" in the US version. Question: In FFVII, you will sometimes fight the Turks in the crashed Gelnika. How can you determine whether you'll fight them or not?

Yes, I have gotten all of the 100 Coin Stars, and all of the Castle Secret Stars, too. I have the official Nintendo Power player's guide, and it says there's a total of 120. I've even tried those rumors that say you can get a 100 Coin Star in the Bowser levels by collecting a bunch of Coins from Bowser's fire breath. They didn't work, even after I got up over 200. And, like I said, I haven't heard anything about there being 122 from anywhere official. Everywhere has said 120. Unless you tell me where they are and I go and actually get them myself, I'm not believing it. Like I said, though, I'll be more than happy to try out anything you tell me. Unless, of course, it involves a GameShark, in which case it's cheating and they're not actually in the game anyway.

Yes, you can pre-order it now. You can go to GameStop.com and pre-order it, and they'll ship the bonus disc to you when the official pre-orders start in February. I'm not sure what they're going to be doing for in-store pre-orders. Hopefully we'll just be able to go in when the official pre-orders start and pick up the bonus disc.

Right, sorry I haven't posted in a while. Been busy with Christmas related things... I should be back and posting steady now. While I've been away, though, I've been thinking of story related things. There's a big plot point coming up soon, where some of what's going on will be revealed. It's gonna be cool...really. :toothy: Zidane, I'm not going to kick you out, but please do try to follow the maps and stuff as best you can. You seemed to be doing decently, except for those couple things. Just remember, no all powerful items and no warping across the world, heh. :) One thing, for the group of people with Tasis, Rokar, and Elsyan in it... Drake's group isn't going to be heading into the Dark World any time soon, if they can help it. Right now, they're on their way to the Graveyard. One more thing... There's a seal on Ganon's Tower, making it impossible for anyone to get in right now... That is, unless Ganon lets them enter, which doesn't really happen. It takes some serious power to break that seal. In the game, it took all seven of the crystals that the seven maidens were trapped in to break it. ...Just so people know ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Drake: I hope Kiln is alright. Lalia gave his hand a little squeeze, and a small smile. Lalia: He'll be fine. I think he can take care of himself okay. Drake: Yeah, but...I've never seen anything like that happen to him before. I'm kind of worried. He's one of my best friends. Lalia: That's understandable. The pair traveled on in silence, walking in step, holding hands, until they came upon an old broken gate and fence surrounding what looked like a dead garden with a small path running down the center of it. Past that was a pair of old, straggly trees, and a run down building built up against the mountain cliff. Drake: That used to be the Sanctuary. Link took Zelda there, after he rescued her from Hyrule Castle. Agahnim found her, though, and recaptured her before Link could stop him. ...I wonder what's in there now. Lalia: How do you know all that? Drake: Sahasrahla told me. About a year ago, I came and asked him what he knew about Link, and he told me pretty much everything he knew. He sounded like a true hero, unstoppable, but...I guess that wasn't true. The two stood in silence, the only sound being a slight breeze blowing through the almost dead trees and bushes, in front of the path to the old Sanctuary. Finally, Drake took a step down the path, and Lalia followed, still holding his hand. Lalia: Are you sure we should go in? Drake: I need to see it... Drake stepped up to the great double doors, and turned the knob on the left one. It creaked open as he pushed the door inward. Stepping inside, he looked around, seeing the rows of broken and decaying wooden benches, and light streaming in through cracks in the boarded up windows. Against the far wall was a large, ornamental block. Drake stared at it; there was something not quite right about it. Walking closer, he noticed that it wasn't centered. It was, in fact, pushed a little over to the right, revealing what looked to be the edge of a doorframe. Drake: Lalia, I think there's a-- Drake was cut off by the leathery flutter of wings, and something hitting him in the back of the head. Ducking, he pulled Lalia down with him behind one of the benches. Lalia: What was that? Drake: Keese. I'll take care of them. He motioned for her to stay down, and unclipped his Hookshot from his belt. Time to show her she's not the only one good with projectile weapons. He allowed himself a small chuckle as he stood up and took aim. Firing, he impaled a Keese that was diving down at him, dropping it a few feet away. As soon as the chain of the Hookshot retracted back to him, he fired again, dropping another, and another, as he spun around to face all around them. After a minute, six dead Keese lay on the floor of the Sanctuary, and Drake clipped the Hookshot to his belt once again. Drake: All clear. He held his hand out, and helped Lalia up to her feet, before glancing at the ornamental block again. Is it just me, or... Drake: Uh, Lalia... I think we should be leaving... Now... Drake grabbed her by the hand once again, and dragged her at a run out of the building, not stopping until they were back on the main path again. Lalia: What is it, what's the matter? Drake: That block was moved back more than when we entered. I could see half of a doorway behind it, and I think something came out of it. The two looked back at the doors of the Sanctuary, as if waiting for something to break through and come charging down the lane at them. Nothing did, though, and after a few seconds, they started walking again. Lalia: Drake...how did Link get Princess Zelda out of Hyrule Castle to the Sanctuary? Drake: ...I don't know. I don't know how he got in, in the first place, actually. Lalia: You don't think that was a secret passage to the castle, do you? Drake blinked in surprise. The thought hadn't even occurred to him. He had just thought it was a basement or something, and that the former occupants of the Sactuary just kept the doorway covered behind the block so people wouldn't wander in and out. Drake: You may just be right. Lalia: I've heard that there are lots of secret passages in and around the castle. The two stared over across the river to the south, at the high tower of Agahnim's Castle stabbing up into the sky. Drake shivered at the sight of the tower, knowing that Link had met his doom at the very top of it. Drake held Lalia's hand a little tighter, and looked back down the path they were traveling. Drake: It's almost like you can feel the evil coming off of that tower... Lalia: It's okay, I don't think anyone will notice two people traveling along this path. Drake thought for a moment, before replying. Drake: Is it just me, or does it seem like you're the one that's mainly taking care of me? Lalia blushed slightly, and Drake released her hand, only to slip his arm around her waist and pull her a little closer to him. Lalia: Drake...maybe you'd better stop. Drake looked at her, and saw her face was dead serious. Dangit, now you've done it; gone and ruined it. You think you know what you're doing, but you really haven't got a clue. Stupid! He was just about to withdraw his arm, when she spoke again, a smile now spread across her face. Lalia: I think this is what Ami would call being "lovey." Drake smiled back and laughed as they continued walking, almost to their destination. Okay, so maybe I have got a clue. Little did they know, something was lurking below the Graveyard; something that had been released by the shifting of the worlds. Something that had been all but destroyed long before Agahnim appeared in Hyrule. Its vile claws were now imbedded deep in the soil of the Graveyard, growing stronger with every day.

I dunno... If Flash gives that one to me, I'll ask a question, I suppose. If not, I don't know.
-
Yeah, but have you seen any videos of actual gameplay, or just cutscenes? If it's just cutscenes, it's not going to tell you anything about the play control.
-
Okay, I know they're called Cactuars in FFVII. I've never seen anything like them that wasn't called a Cactuar in FFVII. As for FFVIII, I think it's the same as FFVIII. One of my friends has it, and he has a summon called Big Cactuar or something like that, so I assume they're also just called Cactuars.
-
Zidane didn't get the question right. In FFVI, they're called Cactrots. In FFVII, they're called Cactuars. Not sure about FFVIII, though.
Originally posted by Smoky Joe Ok...so brutally murdering hundreds of innocent people deserves a lower rating than nudity? I don't think so.
Yes, I think it should. Most people can shrug off violence because they know it's not real, but I think nudity tends to stick in peoples' minds a bit more. That's the difference. That, and you have to be 18 to buy porn, not 17. Why should it be different for games?

Right, I got ZLTP/FS today...and played through all three of the Light World dungeons in what might as well have been one sitting... And I guess it was just those stupid IGN movies. The voices aren't nearly as bad, and I don't really notice them anymore. So I'm happy. :) Now I just need my friends to get the game, so I can play Four Swords. *waits impatiently*

Whenever I've gone into Trance with Freya, I used the Jump command, and she would just stay up in the air and throw spears down each round until the Trance meter ran out. Very nice, since it would damage all the enemies, and at the same time, she wouldn't be able to be hurt because she'd be up in the air. Gotta love dragoons, heh. She's definitely the coolest character in that game, I think.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel If Dragon Quest ever is touched by anything FF, I will kill someone.
*makes a note of that, so as I can be far, far away if that ever happens* I really can't see the FF and Dragon Quest series really having much to do with each other, though, other than a cameo appearance here or there. I mean, the two series have gotten pretty different from each other over the years. I don't think it'd turn out well if they took bits from both series and made them into a game.

Sounds pretty good to me. Nice background story. I'll update the characters list to include you.
-
It actually has real nudity, where you can actually tell what things are? Damn...what the hell is wrong with the people that do the ESRB ratings? That should definitely get an A rating.
-
*gasp* My first real post in this forum! :toothy: I don't think they can actually have nudity in Mature rated games, though, can they? I thought those were the ones that got the Adults Only rating. Dunno, though, I've never actually seen an A rated game.

No, Ruby and Sapphire aren't out yet. The current release date that's been set is March 24, 2003, I think. It says on www.pokemon.com, though, if you care to check.
-
*counts games off on fingers* Original Zelda, no; Zelda II, don't know; ZLTP, no; ZLA, no; ZOOT, no; ZMM, no; ZOOA-S, no... That leaves either Zelda II, or the Game & Watch Zelda game, if it's not any of the CD-i games. Is it either of those two?
-
Damn, you are a lucky little bugger, lol. You got a good haul. :) I didn't actually get any video game stuff this year (nice leather jacket and digital camera, though), but I did get $40, which I'm going to use to get Zelda: A Link to the Past / Four Swords. I'm hoping to be able to go shopping and pick it up tomorrow. I'm rather anxious to play ZLTP again, it's been so long.

Well, the anime is actually aimed at younger kids, I'm pretty sure. The games aren't, though. I'll probably end up getting Pokémon Sapphire if I have the cash at the time. I've almost been getting the urge to fire up my old copy of Gold, but not quite. Maybe by the time Ruby and Sapphire come out, I'll be wanting to play another Pokémon game.

*drools at the thought of an online Smash Bros.* I hope they release a sequel to SSBM and fix it's little annoyances *cough*cheap CPU*cough* and add online play. F-Zero would also be very cool with online play. Racing games are always better against other players. We'll just have to wait and see, though. Hopefully Nintendo will say something soon, though. I also want an online Mario Party, dangit!

I dunno...I've never been able to kill it, even after unloading, like, 30 or more arrows into it. I thought it was just invincible. As for whose turn it is, I think Bremma is either going to have to give us a hint, or ask another question. I think she means the little Guay flying around the outside wall of Clock Town, though, not the Takkuri. I haven't found anything to do with that, either, though, other than shooting it down.
-
Actually, FuSoYa isn't in your end party (though he does use white and black magic). Edge is, and he has...um...I forget the name of the command, but they're ninja ability things that use MP. So yeah, Kain is the only one that doesn't have any MP. In FFVI, you don't have a set end party. You can use whichever characters you want. Answer: Jenova-DEATH has 25000 HP, I believe. Question: In FFIV, where do you get Rydia back, after she was swollowed up by Leviatan in the ship wreck? Also, what's different about her when you get her back?
-
Only
two Dark World bosses?
Bleh, that's not hard. I could fight
any two of them, one after another
, and come out fine. I wonder if there's a new boss at the end of it, though.
-
The only bird that I know of that steals things is the Takkuri that flies around the entrance to the Southern Swamp in Termina Field. I haven't found anything special to do with it, though. Oh, and it can steal your sword, too.
-
Yup, it randomly casts Flare... Though I've never actually seen it cast it, because I went and bet it at the Coliseum right away to get the Illumina. Question: Right, in FFIV, what is the only character in the party that you have at the end of the game that doesn't have any MP?
