1. Well, Ultimate WEAPON always used Shadow Flare as its final attack for me... Weird.
2. The first name for MM was Zelda Gaiden, at least in the US. I've never heard of any name for the Razor Sword except "Razor Sword," though.
3.
Originally posted by Final Flash I won't bore you all with the details of my favourite places in the NES/SNES Final Fantasies, heh heh. :whoops:
...But I will. :toothy: (Though there's only two...and those two make up half my list, since I've only played much of FFIV, FFVI, FFVII, and FFIX). FFIV: The Room of Mirrors, or whatever that room is, where Cecil becomes a paladin. Mainly because your old self pops out of the mirror and fights you, heh. FFVI: The Floating Continent, because I like the landscape. It looks really weird. FFVII: Junon. It's all about the big guns. :naughty: FFIX: Chocobo Paradise. ...Because it's a happy place, and you get to see the Fat Chocobo. :toothy: Hey Flash, I bet I know why you like the Wall Market so much. Are you a card carrying member, eh? :smirk: ;)
4.
Originally posted by G/S/B Master By physical attributes,Tyranitar wins,in weakness,....ahh screw it.Pick Tyranitar.....you could've keep Typhlosion for a strong weakness defender.
Uh...dude? We're talking about Charizard and Typhlosion, not Tyranitar and Typhlosion. o_0 As for who to pick, well... I'm not sure. You could always just take the stats of the two, average them, and then pick whichever has the highest average. :cross: I dunno, though, I've never really compared the two. I think it'd probably come down to the attacks that they can learn. Can't Typhlosion learn Earthquake? That'd probably come in handy sometime.
5. Death animation sequence? The only thing that I saw when I died (it's happened twice now, both on boss/mini-boss fights) was my visor blurring out and going to static, and then I restart at the last time I saved it... Oh, yeah, and I hear a scream from Samus... Am I missing something here?
6. I can name off a couple of games that I really can't think of any way to improve them... Super Mario World, Super Metroid, and Zelda: A Link to the Past come to mind... I think those three are about as close as any game is going to get to a perfect game for me. The problem, though, is that everyone has different tastes, so "perfect" to one person is not necessarily perfect to another person. So, like with the three games I listed above, I may think they're perfect, but other people may not like them as they are, and can think of lots of different things to improve them. Those "improvements," however, may make the game less enjoyable for me. So, as you can see, it's actually pretty much impossible for a game to truly be perfect, like James said. As for the length of a game...well...all games have to end some time. For a game to never end, it'd have to be in development forever to keep in going longer and longer, and it would never be released. :whoops: As long as a game isn't really short, I usually don't have a problem with wanting it to be longer.
7.
Originally posted by Mr. Pfy Jkt Man I think that most games if they have a "flaw" like the ones you mentioned, have a purpose. What if last minute the makers of "Melee" thought: 'DANG, this game is just too easy for a serious gamer like me. I know, I'll give one of the characters the ability to unquestionably out-proform the humans. MAN, I am such a genious!' I mean what if? Oh, desbroke is it? Um, did this happen right away? I mean, 'cause if you noticed it after a while then it could be a hidden easter egg. Maybe you being so damn good (as I'm sure are) unlocked a harder level. I always try to find the best in a game, because it is someones life work.
No, it was always like that... Although I don't doubt that, if there were something like that in the game, I would've unlocked it. :D And I do see how the game could've been too easy, so they made the CPU players cheap to make it harder. Personally, though, I think that's just a cover for not having a good enough AI in the game. It seems to me like SSBM wouldn't be any harder than the original SSB, if not for the cheap CPU players. And...Ridley? How would that work? I mean, you'd have a huge advantage over the other characters, because you can fly. Pretty much, you'd never die from falling off the bottom of the screen, and you could just stay in the air the whole match it you wanted to. I guess if they could come up with a decent reason for him not being able to fly in the battles, it would've been cool, though.
8.
Originally posted by TheDarkOtaku I'm gonna' get Fusion definitely. :D I'm hesitating on Prime because I don't like shooters much.
Neither do I... But you know what? I absolutely love Metroid Prime. With it's control style, it really isn't like your standard first person shooter. It sure doesn't seem like it, especially since you can lock onto enemies, and you can't look up and down while moving. Also, thiis game isn't all about blasting as many enemies as you can. As the developers have said, it's mainly about exploration. Sure, there are enemies, but they're not swarming all over in every room. I'd at least rent this game and try it out. It'd be a real shame to miss out on it. Oh, and by the way, nice banner ZeroG214. ;)
9. You got it backwards, for Lost Number. If you hit it with a magical attack last, you'll face the magic side (red), and if you hit it with a physical attack last, you'll fave the physical side (purple). But yes, Choco/Mog helps and/or Aeris' Seal Evil Limit Break helps a lot. When I fought Lost Number on my first time through, I paralyzed it with Choco/Mog, and it wasn't able to anything for the rest of the fight. It didn't even get to change to either of the two sides. I just kept pounding away with level two spells, and I even had to take a round to use some Ethers on my party, and I killed it without even having to heal myself.
10. 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 100. Question: What is the name of the blue Cucco that you get as part of the trading sequence in OOT?
11. Right, I got Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion...finally... I've played Prime some. The last big thing I did was get the Morph Ball, so I'm not all that far into it. And I haven't even opened Fusion yet. I'm still not sure if I'm going to play through Prime first and then play through Fusion, or try to play through both of them at once. As for what I thought about Metroid Prime, it's lived up to all of the claims about it so far (and all of my expectations). It really does feel like Super Metroid in 3D. I can't wait to get some cool weapons like the Wave Beam! I, too, had a little difficulty getting used to the control scheme at first, but I got the hang of it by the time I got out of the space station... And I think that was pretty much the whole point of having the space station at the start, so you could get used to the controls, except for story purposes. Once you do get used to the controls, however, they're really quite easy to use. At first, not being able to strafe and turn at the same time, or look up and down while moving was a bit awkward, but I found you don't really need to with the targeting system. As for the graphics...they're the best graphics I've seen on the GameCube. They're absolutely amazing, and the way that there's plants and grass and all sorts of little things all over make it look very realistic. I think my favorite effect is when you jump out of a pool of water, and little drops of water run down the outside of the visor. I can only imagine what they're like on a TV with progressive scan. (My TV is old and crappy--I can't even tell the difference between using an RF switch and AV cables). >_< The sound is just as good. I love the music. It's perfect for setting the mood of each area (although, I've only been to three different areas, including the space station), but it isn't intrusive enough to it distract you while you're fighting enemies. The sound effects are also just as good. I think my favorite is when you charge up a shot with the Charge Beam, and then fire it. Overall, Metroid Prime is, so far, the best game I've played on the GameCube. I absolutely love this game.
12. Heh, yeah, it's 5 and 7.
13. Super Smash Bros. Melee on the GCN--they made the CPU characters too dang cheap. Fox, on level 9, can do combos of about five moves, yet when I play on Fox, I can only do about a three move combo in the same amount of time, doing the same moves as the CPU. Because of this, Fox (and sometimes Falco) are the only CPU characters that have any chance at beating me. (Though it's still pretty rare that I lose if I'm just playing CPU characters). It just pisses me off that the CPU characters can do things that human players can't.
14. Level 5 is right, but 6 isn't. It's close, though. Lol...the problem is, no one else really seems to be posting in here much anymore. >_< It would be better if two or three more people posted more often.
15. Every 100 years, a male Gerudo is born. Question: In the original The Legend of Zelda, in the 1st Quest, which dungeon(s) contain upgrades that let you carry more Bombs?
16. Like others have said, it's just seems too bland to me. I don't like excessively bright colors, but I do like some color, lol. I'll be sticking with the original, for now, anyway. And I, too, liked the v4 skin the best. It was kind of dark and kind of light at the same time, and the colors were good. ...Of course, a dark green and brown Zelda themed skin would be really cool. You could use the Ocarina of Time for the top banner thingy, and have the holes as the buttons. :D
17. Yes, that's right! You seem to be good with colors. ;) Ask away.
18. Booyah! I, too, have been waiting for something like this ever since the GCN was released. The only way I've avoided spending tons of money on AA batteries so far is because I got a 24 pack of them in my stocking last Christmas, lol. One thing that I'm wondering about, though... It says it can be used for multi-player gaming, but I only saw one cartridge slot. I'm wondering if you'll only need one cartridge to play the muti-pack modes on games. That would make it even better. Hey, I just thought of something. If the Game Boy Pocket is the GBP, what's going to be the abbreviation for the Game Boy Player? :whoops: (If they keep that name, anyway).
19.
Originally posted by Smoky Joe You think that's bad? My local Toys R' Us has it right now, and I have to wait until Thursday to go get both, and a friend borrowed my GC, so I won't be able to play any Metroid until the weekend, since my brother's the only person I know with a GBA.
Dude, that's...dang... That's just not fair... >_< Well, at least I don't feel quite as bad now... But I doubt that helps you... :cross: *sits a waits* ...One more day... Only one more day... I'm...going...to...make...it! :twitch:
20. Yep, it's Mewtwo. The openings are part of the episode, too. :D
21. Yeah, that's my favorite, too. I set it as my wallpaper. :) And I like how you can see more than the Fairy's wings, too. I never liked the little glowing balls of light that were the Fairies in OOT and MM. I always thought that they could have done better, and now they finally have. (Although, I did like how they gave off light in OOT and MM). By the way, did anyone else notice how Link has 64 Rupees in almost all of the screen shots? I wonder if that was just a coincidence...
22. Blue, red and purple were right, but the other two were wrong. Keep trying.
23. Lol...I thought this one would be tricky, but I didn't think people would have this much trouble. :whoops: ...No, Charizard is also wrong. Just try and think of everything that comes before the opening bit with Gengar and Nidorino in the first episode. Anyone that's watched the first season very much shouldn't have trouble doing that, I'd think.
24. It was late and I was too lazy to do this last night when I posted with the new pics, but here they are... Links to the subsciber only pics, for those of you that don't/can't subscibe to Nintendo Power. Aren't I nice? :D http://images.nintendo.com/nintendo/contents/gamepage/gamecontent/images/z/zelda115_gcn_ss5.jpg http://images.nintendo.com/nintendo/contents/gamepage/gamecontent/images/z/zelda115_gcn_ss6.jpg http://images.nintendo.com/nintendo/contents/gamepage/gamecontent/images/z/zelda115_gcn_ss7.jpg http://images.nintendo.com/nintendo/contents/gamepage/gamecontent/images/z/zelda115_gcn_ss8.jpg http://images.nintendo.com/nintendo/contents/gamepage/gamecontent/images/z/zelda115_gcn_ss9.jpg
25. Nope, nope, and nope... It's really quite simple... Heeheehee...
