[color=indigo]Yep, it's also coming out on the PC, in addition to the PS2. I figure if I can't afford to upgrade my PC with the money I'll get from Christmas and my birthday (about two weeks after Christmas), I'll just buy a PS2 (and the necessary accessories) with the money. So, either way, FFXI will be mine, heh. :)[/color]

[color=indigo]Heh, I remember when I considered myself to be one of the best at the original SSB. (I'm kinda rusty now, having been playing SSBM instead of the original for so long now). Dang, I played the game a lot. Probably more than any other game. (That would really be saying something, if you knew just how much I played Super Mario Kart and Super Mario World, back when the SNES was only a couple years old). :) For SSB Melee, though, I'm definitely not one of the best. I'm pretty dang good, but I just haven't played enough yet. Every time I start playing it again I get better, just like I did with the original SSB, so it's just a matter of time, heh. I played the original from the time it came out to the time SSB Melee came out, off and on, and I was still developing new combos (gotta love how you can juggle people in the air with Link's light Up+A on the ground to get their percent up, before letting them have it with a smash attack, heh), so I expect it to be quite awhile before I reach my full potential. That, and I had more people to play with, for SSB. With SSBM, I usually just have to play against CPU players. As for the characters I use the most, that'd have to be Link in both versions, second would be Pikachu in SSB, and Samus in SSBM, with probably Mario coming in at third in SSB, and Roy in SSBM. Heh, I remember one time when I was playing SSB on Pikachu, and I did a five minute match on Saffron City with three level nine CPU players. I only got knocked off once in he entire match, because they could barely ever hit me. I knew the CPU players' reactions to pretty much everything like the back of my hand, lol. Ah, great memories... Makes me want to play SSBM... And I think I will, in a few minutes. :)[/color]

[color=indigo]...Pinball? Do you mean the pachinko level, where you have to bounce up and land in the cups to get eight Red Coins? For me, the camera was fine for that part. The only time it changed it for me during that was when I slid through a hole in one of the cups, and it turned the view around to the other side of the board. Other than that, I had full control of the camera. I will admit that there are some problems, but when you compare it to Super Mario 64, the camera seems perfect, lol. In SM64, it shifted all the heck over the place by itself. in SMS, it usually won't change by itself unless it hits a wall or something, and can't move any farther in that direction. I found it quite easy to work with for all but a few parts in the game.[/color]

[color=indigo]*checks FFVII instruction booklet* So it is...October 13, heh... But still, this is pretty pointless. Anyone that cares probably already knows his birthday, anyway. Thread Closed[/color]

[size=1]Um...The One, Boba Fett, you two just had an SSB battle with me and Schratn9. That means none of us can be in the next SSB battle that's held, because you can't be in two battles in a row. On another note... Ha ha! I have conquered the writers block! Wheeeee![/size] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [color=indigo][i]As Samus, Mario, Link, and Madam Aroma enter Mushroom Village, they see various Toads going about the days business, much like in Donut Plains, only a bit busier. Upon walking a ways into town, though, they see the Mushroom Inn, which is under repair, as is a couple other buildings in the area.[/i] Link: Hmm, looks like the damage wasn't too bad... That's good. Mario: I wonder if we can still get-a something to eat there? [i]Samus switches to her X-Ray Scope, and looks through the walls of the Inn at the people inside.[/i] Samus: Looks like there are people inside. The damage is mainly on the outside, and the roof. Link: Heh, lets just hope it doesn't rain before they get the roof repaired. [i]The four of them walk up to the Inns entrance, and Madam Aroma dismounts quite ungracefully, though not as ungracefully as falling off, and Link sends Epona away, out to graze on the hills surrounding Mushroom Village. For a horse, Epona is quite smart, though sometimes stubborn, not a little like Link himself. As they enter the Inn, a paper in a small stand catches Link's eye, and he does a double take, quickly walking back out of the Inn.[/i] Samus: What's wrong? Link: Got a Coin on you? All I've got is Rupees. [i]Samus hands Link a Coin, and he puts it into the coin slot on the newspaper stand, opens the hatch, and pulls out a paper. He holds it up, for all to see. The headline reads "Princess Peach seen running bordering cruise ship S.S. Anne" and below it is a picture of Peach running up onto the ship.[/i] Mario: Mama-mia! Why would she-a leave? Samus: Maybe she got bored? Link: Maybe she went looking for you? We did just kind of disappear for a while there. Aroma: You know, we could discuss this over lunch, you know. [i]The three turn to look at Madam Aroma, as if they had forgotten she was even there.[/i] Link: Okay, but you're paying this time. I've only got a few Rupees left after buying those shoes, and those are going to be used to replace my Lamp, which I also lost in that fire. Samus: Which, ironically enough, was your fault... [i]Link opens his mouth to say something, and then closes it again. After a few seconds, he finally replies.[/i] Link: ...That's beside the point. Mario: Look, can we-a just go in and get-a something to eat, eh? I'm-a startin' to get hungry too! [i]The four walk into the Mushroom Inn again, this time making it all the way past the door. They head over to the dining room, and sit down, either by chance or by some strange twist of fate, at the same table as when it was Mario, Link, and Yoshi in the group. They order lunch, and then continue to discuss the matter of the Princess.[/i] Link: Well, did you notice anything strange, before you got mixed up in all this? Mario: No, not really. Everything seemed to be normal. Link: Hmm...maybe Samus was right, maybe she did just get bored. I have to say, hanging around Hyrule Castle isn't the most entertaining thing in the world. [i]"Taking Epona out to Lon Lon Ranch and racing with Malon is a lot more fun," Link thinks. Just then, though, a waiter brings their lunch, and then hurries away to take care of other customers. Samus takes off her helmet to eat, and lets her long, light brown hair, tied back into a ponytail, fall back behind her.[/i] Aroma: ...You're a woman? Samus: Yeah. What were you expecting? Link: I suppose it would be hard to tell from the voice, since the helmets speaker kind of changes it. ...But anyway, do you think we should follow Peach? Mario: I don't-a know. Lets eat first, and then decide what we're-a gonna do, eh? Aroma: Yes, lets eat![/color]

[color=indigo]The only time I get that is when I accidentally double-click the reply button, heh. And if you happen to have to wait a bit, take the time to go back and read through your post, and correct spelling and grammar mistakes... Of course, it's good to do that all the time, but if you're already waiting, you might as well do something in that time.[/color]

[color=indigo]Well, I don't have a picture of one of the newer FF logos without the picture that goes with them, but I have a picture of the original Final Fantasy logo, which doesn't have a picture with the text. Here it is, if you want it:[/color]

[color=indigo]Try going into the search function in the start menu, then, and search for *.swf (which searches for all files with the extension .swf) and it should find it if you've got it.[/color]

[color=indigo]I've heard that FFI and FFII (the Japanese FFII, not FFIV) are going to be released on the PlayStation, and I've seen screen shots, too. I think there was a thread about them awhile ago, but I couldn't find it. (It must be back on the second or third page by now). There's some info on them at [url=http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters/genre/0,11892,ps-rpg,00.html]GameSpot[/url], and some screen shots. It says they're going to be released in the fourth quarter of 2002 in Japan, but no details on a US release, or anywhere else. I've also heard that they may not be released outside of Japan, though that's just a rumor. I haven't heard anthing about FFIII being remade, or anything about the games being remade on the GBA, though. Hopefully they will be.[/color]

[color=indigo]There are 11 Shines in each level, not including the 30 Blue Coins in each. Then there are the ones in Delfino Plaza, and the ones that your get from Blue Coins, and it'll all eventually add up to 120... Keep at it, lol. And that level is called Sirena Beach. The second boss fight in that level is funny. :)[/color]

[color=indigo]If you're not signed in and you click a "Reply" button (or one of the other buttons, such as an "Edit" or "New" button) in a thread, it'll ask you to sign in, and after you do, it'll let you reply to the thread (or edit your post, or make a new thread, or whatever, depending on the button you clicked). So, you don't actually have to go back to the main page to sign in. As for making your own smilies, I suppose you could, but it'd be a pain to use them since you wouldn't be able to upload them and add them to the list. You'd have to upload the smiley to your own site, and then use [img] tags to link to the smiley, like this: [img]http://www.desbreko.netfirms.com/Misc/CookieSmiley.gif[/img][/color]

[color=indigo]Well, if you look in the rules, it doesn't actually say that favorite threads are against the rules themselves. It's the spam that most of them generate that's against the rules. If, like CWB said, people are actually posting up reasons why a particular something is their favorite and there's some actual thought going into the replies, then it'd be okay. It's when a bunch of people start posting "I like [insert thing here] the best!" that the thread gets closed/deleted.[/color]

Gaming Wow GC 1st anny. and I must say I am a lil........
Desbreko replied to GhostofSalvtore's topic in Noosphere
[color=indigo]Yeah, I know what you mean, about SSB and SSBM... They just aren't serious fighting games, and they can't be treated as such. That's why I like them, and no other fighting games, I guess. As for my experiences with the GCN, well, I haven't actually played too many games for it. (I need more money!) :toothy: What I have played has been pretty good, though. I got SSBM with my GCN, and I have to say, it lived up to almost all of my expectations, and exceeded others, so I figure it works out even, heh. My play time shot up to over 100 hours in just a couple months, my power time being about twice that. (I like to listen to the music in the sound test a lot). So far, it's the game that I've enjoyed the most on the GCN. After playing SSBM for a long time, I borrowed Luigi's Mansion from one of my friends, and played through it twice in a row (once on the normal game, and another time on the Hidden Mansion). It was fun, but, as I've heard a lot of other people say, not long enough. It didn't start to get boring until late through my second game, though, and it kept me occupied for a good number of hours. When Super Mario Sunshine came out, I bought it, and it was about what I expected. Not my favorite Mario game for a few reasons, but still highly enjoyable. I'm certainly glad I bought it. Out of the games that I've played for the GCN, it's my second favorite, SSBM still clinging to the number one spot just because of the sheer amount of replay value. Now I'm eagerly awaiting Metroid Prime. From everything I've seen of it, it looks like it's going to be fantastic. This is the first FPS type game that I've ever been excited about. Overall, I'm quite happy with my little 'Cube. :)[/color] -
[color=indigo]Yeah, if you beat the game and there are still some Shines that you haven't gotten, you can go back and get them. ...Actually, you can't get all 120 Shines before you beat the game.[/color]

[color=indigo]I know Final Fantasy Tactics also uses the job system like Final Fantasy V does, and then Final Fantasy XI (there, no Fs and roman numerals together, lol) uses the job system, though it's not out in the US yet. Other than those, though, I don't think any other Final Fantasy games use the job system.[/color]

[color=indigo]Can't...resist...any...longer! ...I KNOW THE COMPLETE LIST! AAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!! ...But I ain't gonna tell, because I said I wouldn't. :p *waits patiently for the real thing to start* :twitch:[/color]

[color=indigo]When I was little, I used to watch my brothers play games. I remember watching them play FFI way back on the NES, then FFII (IV) on the SNES, then FFIII (VI) on the SNES when it came out, and then when we got FFVII on the PSX, I decided to give it a try. I was instantly sucked in, and played for well over 100 hours (the timer stopped at 99:59:59 lol), and beat it. I then played FFII on the SNES, and loved that, too, though my game was erased while I was down in the underworld (old cartridge). Later I got another FFII game, and played through all the way till I got to the moon, and then my game got erased...again. Then I got FFIII, and played through that and did almost everything...until my game got erased, when I was almost ready to go beat it. *sigh* If Square ever remakes FFIV and FFVI on the GBA, I'll get them and then I'll finally be able to beat them, lol. After that I got FFIX, and I'm almost all the way through it. I got bored of it at about the start of the fourth disc, though, and still haven't beaten it. FFVIII just didn't look that good to me, so I never have picked it up. Now I'm waiting for FFXI to come out. (I'd get FFX, but I don't have a PS2).[/color]

[color=indigo]To download it, just go to the page and let it load. Then go to your cache, or temporary internet files, or whatever the folder is called for your browser, and look for the file "FDBBE1D0d01.swf" It may not have the ".swf" on it, though, depending on your browser. If it doesn't, you'll need to add it onto the end of the file name.[/color]

[color=indigo]Why don't you just post up a question, and then let anyone answer and ask their own question if they get it right? That's how we've been doing it in the Zelda one, there aren't really specific people that are in the quiz or anything.[/color]

[color=indigo][i]Finally, after many tries, Link, Mario, and Samus manage to lift Madam Aroma up into Epona's saddle, Epona not very pleased with having Madam Aroma riding her, but putting up with it because it would probably mean less complaining about her feet.[/i] Aroma: Thank you. I don't know how anyone manages to actually climb up onto one of these things... [i]Link looks up at Madam Aroma sitting side saddle on Epona, and sighs. Again, Samus leans over to Mario and whispers.[/i] Samus: Bet you five Coins she's going to fall off... Mario: You got-a a deal... [i]Samus and Mario shake hands, and then notice Link looking at them.[/i] Link: ...Something wrong? Samus: Oh, not at all, why? Link: Well, whatever, lets just get going before any more Piranha Plants catch up to us. Mario: Shouldn't we-a know where we're going first? Link: Right, yeah, um... [i]Link pulls out his Map and Compass, the moonlight shining down to illuminate them in an eerie blue light.[/i] Link: Maybe we should head towards Mushroom Village and the castle, to see what's happened there? Mario: Yeah, sounds-a good to me. Maybe we'll-a be able to find out more about the Piranha Plants. [i]The four of them set off towards Mushroom Village, Madam Aroma being silent for once, while Epona wonders if Link would be mad if she made Madam Aroma fall off.[/i][/color]

[color=indigo]*looks around at the utter chaos of people yelling about wanting to know who made it in, when Flash has already said he's going to choose soon, and then even gave a time, and people are still wanting to know when Flash is going to say, and it really seems as though people aren't reading many of the posts, just the last few, and it also seems as though there's, like, tons of spam in this thread already, and I really can't imagine what the real thing will be like, hopefully not as bad as this* ...You know, I think I'm actually quite glad I didn't enter...[/color]

[color=indigo]Heheh, it's great, isn't it? I found this awhile ago, and I was laughing so dang hard the first, second, and even third time I watched it. And yeah, the preloader is great too. 8-bit Theater has to be the funniest comic I've ever read.[/color]

[color=indigo]Look at it this way: If they took all the time to update RE 2 and 3, then it'd take even longer to get 4, a new game, out. And if they delayed 4 so that they could update 2 and 3, I can bet you that people would be whining about 4 being delayed.[/color]

[color=indigo]Personally, I'd like FFXII to use the old ATB battle system and actually be set in a real fantasy world, like FFIV. There hasn't been a good one set in a real fantasy world since FFV, in my opinion. Sure, FFVI was kind of a fantasy world, but they still had a decent amount of technology, like the Magitek stuff. Don't get me wrong, though, FFVI is a great game, and is actually my favorite in the series, I just want a good one set in a world of swords and castles and knights and that. FFIX was a real disappointment for me.[/color]
