Yeah, I read that in EGM too, and I don't believe it. Why? Well, first off, they'd probably loose a buttload of money since, from what I've heard, more people in the US have net connections and would actually be willing to pay the monthly fee than in Japan, and secondly, they've already shown lots of trailers and screen shots and whatnot in the US. (Can we say "advertising"?) I think, if it comes down to it, they will either have someone else run the US network, or hire people to do it., if they can't manage it right now. It would be a really stupid move for them to not release it in the US.

Naw, there are a couple people in A Link to the Past that mention the Master Sword before you go meet Sahasrahla. There's the Sage, and at least one other person. I know that the first person to mention it in A Link to the Past is the Sage, though, since neither Link's Uncle or Zelda tells you about it, and the next person that you talk to after those two is the Sage. But anyway, in the original The Legend of Zelda, what does Link do to light up the room that Gannon is in? Edit: Nope, you fight Ganon in the Pyramid of Power in A Link to the Past. In the original The Legend of Zelda, you fight Gannon in Death Mountain, so you're pretty far down underground. So, light from outside isn't going to be able to get through. (Note the spelling of "Ganon" when being refered to in the original game, where it's spelled with two n's in the middle instead of one). :)

I'm pretty sure that would be the Sage in the Sanctuary, in A Link to the Past, after you rescue Zelda. Not sure, though, since I haven't played Zelda II much. So, I don't know it it's mentioned in Zelda II or not. I don't think so, though... Bleh. I really need to play through Zelda II. You can find out a lot from reading about a Zelda game, but you can't beat playing through it yourself. ...If only they hadn't used that stupid side-scrolling view, I'd have played through it by now...

Well, I rented and then bought Mario Party 2, and I played it quite a bit with my friends. (4-P games at 5:00 AM can be quite amusing, heh). I, too, didn't think 3 was different enough to be worth buying, though. However, I have heard that there are going to be big changes in 4, and not just the addition of new mini-games. There'll be more interaction on the actual board, and from some screen shots I've seen, you can be big or small while on the board, and different areas are accessable only when you're big, and some only when you're small. I dunno, though, if they don't change it quite a bit, I'm not going to buy it. I think one of my friends is planning on getting it, though, and that's almost as good, heh. I think we'll just have to wait and see what they do with it.

Heh, I like to beat Level 4: Gargoyle's Domain either just after beating Level 1: Palace of Darkness, or before beating Level 1. (It is possible, but you have to use a glitch). Having the Tempered Sword (Lv. 3 sword) is nice for going through Level 3: Skull Dungeon, because those dang Gibdos take a lot of hits if you only have the Master Sword (Lv. 2 sword). And the answer is the Magical Sword, and you can get it from the old man in the graveyard once you've gotten 12 Heart Containers. "Master using it, and you can have this." :) Okay, in A Link to the Past, can Super Bombs (purchased for 100 Rupees at the Bomb Shop in the Dark World, after beating Level 6: Misery Maze) hurt you and/or enemies?

Well, on the last vote off, I voted for Raiha... And on the last one, you voted for who you wanted to win... So, uh, yeah... If there were bribes involved, I want mine, because I didn't get one! :toothy: :twitch: I kind of like the idea of only being able to post in OBBII, for the people that are in it... Mainly because I'm not going to be applying to be in it, heheheh... But really, it is a good idea, it'd make it more like the real thing. Otherwise, it would just be like a normal RPG, except that a person leaves every so often. Of course, I have no idea how you'd keep people from posting in other forums, but hey, I like the idea. :) Oh, and by the way, Flash, did you ever give Raiha a prize for winning? I remember you had said the winner would get a prize...

Samus: Hey, guys, I think we've got a little problem. Link: Hmm? Malon, you're...zzzzz... Link mumbles in his sleep, and rolls over on the floor. Samus: Guys! Piranha Plants! Outside! Mario: Hmm, what did you say?! The other three jump up, startled out of their sleep. Link: Ohhh...I was having the most wonderful dream... Aroma: Whatever is the matter? And what is that infernal scratching noise?! Samus: There are Piranha Plants just outside the door, that's what that scratching noise is! Samus, a bit annoyed by now, grabs the nearest person to her, which happens to be Mario, and pushes him toward the window. Mario: Mama-mia! Someone turn on a light! Link stands up and lights his Lamp, illuminating the small room. He hangs it by a small hook in the ceiling, and unsheathes the Master Sword. Madam Aroma glances out the window, and screams. She jumps off of the bed, and latches onto Link. Aroma: Link, you've got to save me! I simply hate Piranha Plants! Link: That would be a whole lot easier to do if you'd let go of me... Madam Aroma lets go of Link, and sits back down on the bed. This frees Link's other arm, allowing him to pick on the Mirror Shield, which was lying on the floor next to where he was sleeping. Link: Right, anyone got a plan? Samus: ...You mean, besides blowing them away? Link thinks about this, and then shrugs. Link: Fair enough. Shall we open the door, break it down, or wait for them to break it down? Mario: Why don't we-a open it, eh? Link: Right then. So, do we hold them off at the doorway, or do we rush out, get surrounded, and die a horrible, horrible death? He looks at the other three people in the room, who stare back. Aroma: Just do something already! Samus: I prefer the third option: Rush out, get surrounded, and kick some serious Piranha Plant butt. Link: Okay, sounds good to me. How about we run out there, Mario sprays all around us, stunning the closest ones, I follow up with a Spin Attack, and then Samus takes out the others with a Power Bomb? Mario: Hmm, sounds-a good to me! ...But wait, were we-a gonna break down the door? I-a forget... At this point, Madam Aroma gives up the hope of the three heroes saving her, and just waits for the inevitable. A loud sigh is heard from the area of the small bed... But, just then, the Piranha Plants break down the door. Link: Too late now! Charge! The three of them run through the doorway, the Piranha Plant previously in the doorway having been taken out with a swing of the Master Sword, and proceed to blast, hack, and spray their way through the horde of plants. Mario spins and squirts water from FLUDD, confusing the plants for a second, giving Link time to do a Spin Attack, taking the heads off the eight closest Piranha Plants. Immediately after that, Samus' Power Bomb explodes, clearing the entire area of the Piranha Plants... Or so they think... Samus: That certainly was easy. Link: Almost...too easy... Mario: Don't look now, but...! The three of them turn around to see a humongous Piranha Flower growing up around the house, its roots winding down around the house until they buried themselves in the soil. The giant plant roars, shaking the ground. Link: Four words: meet mister Fire Rod. Link sheathes the Master Sword, and pulls out the Fire Rod. Aiming it at the Piranha Flower's open mouth, he fires five shots in quick succession. Mario: Mama-mia! Talk about heartburn! The plants lunges back and fourth, the fire within it cooking it from the inside out, until it starts to shrivel up and turn brown. Suddenly, the flames inside its stomach burst through and engulf the roof of the house. Link: Oh, dang... I think maybe two shots would have been better... Samus: You think?! All three of them rush into the house at once, grabbing Madam Aroma off the bed, and half dragging, half carrying her outside and away from the house. This was no easy task, even for all three of them, either, with Madam Aroma kicking and screaming all the way. Just as they run back through the door, the roof callapses, leaving a heap of burning rubble where the house once was. They turn back and look at the fire, trying to remember if they had left anything inside the house. Aroma: My beautiful new shoes! Link, Samus, and Mario all let out a collective groan, and then notice lights starting to go on in other nearby houses. Mario: I'm-a thinking it's about-a time to leave, eh? The four run off behind the burning rubble heap and off into the right, pushing Madam Aroma along. After they get a good distance from the edge of town, they stop to rest. Aroma: Oh, my poor feet! Link: ...Those shoes cost me 80 stinking Rupees... And, I left my Lamp in there! That'll cost me even more to replace! Link sighs, and a thought comes to mind. Link: Hey, tell you what. You won't have to walk, you can ride. Link pulls out his Fairy Ocarina, and plays Epona's Song. In just a few seconds, Epona comes trotting up, and stands next to Link. Samus leans over to Mario, and whispers to him. Samus: Now lets just hope that she doesn't fall off the horse... Back in Animal Crossing... Tom Nook runs up to the now smoldering heap that was once his house for rent, and stares. Tom: Oh, my...

I only have the Nintendo Power guide. I tend not to trust other mags/guides for things like this, when it's not actually in the game. And the Queen of Faeries' name is Venus. Anyone that's beaten the game should know that, since it tells during the ending movie. :) Okay, this may or may not be tricky, depends on how much you talk to people in the game, I suppose: Early on in A Link to the Past, right after you rescue Zelda, you can get a hint for defeating Blind the Thief, the boss of Level 4: Gargoyle's Domain (Level 4 in the Dark World). Where/who do you get the hint from?

Samus, Mario, Link, and Madam Aroma walk up to Tom Nook's General Store. The store, not huge, but not small, either, looks rather friendly. Link: So, what are we going to do, then, buy a tent? Aroma: No, silly, Tom Nook also sells and rents houses. The four of them walk in, and are greeted by a raccoon walking on it's hind legs and wearing a small, blue apron. Tom: Madam Aroma, is that you? Aroma: Oh, it's good to see you again, Tom! Link blinks and scratches his head, trying to make sense of a talking raccoon that stands on it's hind legs and wears an apron. "Well, I suppose I have seen stranger things," Link thinks. Samus scans Tom Nook with her Scanning Visor, but only comes up with one small detail. She saves the data to her suits computer, for later reference. Mario: Mama-mia, look at all this stuff! I haven't seen-a one of these in years! Mario walks over to a shelf, and picks up an old Nintendo Entertainment System. Link and Samus both walk over and look at it with Mario, all three of them remembering their first adventure in the 8-bit world. Tom: So what brings you to Animal Crossing, Madam? Aroma: Oh, Tom, we've been walking for miles and miles, and-- Samus: More like only eight miles. Madam Aroma looks over her shoulder at Samus, who's still looking at the NES and a few games that the three have found, seemingly unaware of the conversation going on behind her. Aroma: Hmph...as I was saying, we've come quite a distance, and we need a place to stay. Do you, perhaps, have an unoccupied house that we could stay in for just tonight? Tom: Oh, yes indeed...though it's a little small for four people. I'm afraid I don't have anything larger available, though. Aroma: Oh, thank you, Tom, Whatever you've-- Link: I'VE FOUND IT! Both Tom and Madam Aroma look up suddenly, startled by Link's cry of joy from the back of the store. He runs through the aisles to the counter and holds up a mint condition, gold collectors edition of The Legend of Zelda, still in the box and with the instruction booklet. Link: I'll take this, and that NES over there! Tom: Certainly. That will be 136 Rupees, please. Link: ...How did you know I'd be paying in Rupees? Tom: Well, you are Link, aren't you? What else would you have? Link: Eh, you've got me there. And 136 is quite a lot, but it's worth every Rupee. Link hands over the money, and pockets the NES and the gold copy of The Legend of Zelda. After this, it's Madam Aroma's turn to blink, and give Link a blank stare. Samus: So, do we have a place to stay, then? Tom: Oh, yes, right this way please. Tom leads them out of the shop and down a side street, until they end up in front of a rather "cozy" house. They step through the door, and the inside of the house is revealed to be one square room with nothing but a small bed in one corner. Tom: I'm sorry that there isn't more furniture, but that last occupant took almost everything with her. Mario: Hmm, who gets-a the bed? The other three all turn to look at Mario at the same time. Two of the faces, one just visible through a visor, seem to say "Do you really need to ask?" and the other one practically yells out "I simply will not sleep on the floor!" Tom: Well, I've got to get back to the store, it's almost closing time. It's good to see you again, Madam. With that, Tom walks out of the small, one room house, and closes the door behind him, leaving the four of them alone in the cramped little room.

Yes, the Lost Levels is extremely hard. It's the hardest Mario game I've ever played. You know how the original Super Mario Bros. is hard? To me, it's about twice as hard as that, in some parts. Me and my brother made it to the level before the last castle, and we couldn't beat it before we had to return the game. I can't even imagine how hard the last castle is, if it's harder than the stage before it. And I've actually played one of the Super Mario Bros. arcade games! I have to say, though, I really don't like the joystick and buttons for controlling Mario/Luigi. I'll take a NES controller over them any day.

Okay, I have that guide, and I've read through it. I didn't see anywhere where it gives the name of Link's Uncle, and I don't think it ever does. Give me a page number so I can look it up and see for myself, and I'll believe that it gives a name. I've done a ton of research on A Link to the Past, and nowhere official did I find a name for Link's Uncle. (Other than "Link's Uncle," anyway). Not even the Hyrule Encyclopedia on zelda.com. If you could PM me the page number where the name can be found in the guide, I'd be very happy to check this out for myself.

It's all right with me if Samus joins up with Link and Mario, and I don't think James would object. Kind of fitting, having Nintendo's three biggest stars team up. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link and Samus walk up to Mario and Madam Aroma as they step off the train. Link: Hey, Mario! Mario: Link, what are you doing here? Samus: Hi. Mario: Mama-mia, and Samus, too?! Link: Yeah, we just met up a minute ago, and then we saw you get off the train. Where were you, what happened? Aroma: I lost my shoes, that's what happened! Samus: Who's this? Link: She's Ma-- Aroma: I am Madam Aroma, from the fair land of Termina, and I require some shoes this instant! Samus: Touché... Aroma: Why, it's a good thing you're wearing that armor or I'd slap you into next week! Link sighs, feeling sorry for Mario if he had to deal with that the whole time. Link: Look, I'll go buy you some more shoes. Why don't you three go find an inn or something, and when I get back we can exchange stories. Mario: Link is-a right. Why don't we-a meet over at the Donut Plains Inn and get-a something to eat, eh? Samus: Fine with me. Aroma: Oh, thank you, Link! Link: Right, I'll be back in a few minutes. Link rolls his eyes as he walks back towards Epona, and unhitches her from the post. He rides around for a few minutes, until he finds a shoe store. He dismounts and hitches Epona to another post, and walks in. After looking around for a couple minutes, he picks out a pair of imported Hylian high heels with lace and tassels on them. "I can't believe I'm actually buying these," he thinks as he walks over to the counter. Shopkeeper: Got a special lady, eh? Link: Um...I guess you could say that... Link pays for the shoes and then rides over to the Donut Plains Inn, and heads over to the dining room where the others are waiting. He sits down, and hands Madam Aroma the shoes. Aroma: Oh, thank you, Link, they're lovely! She leans over and plants a big kiss on Links cheek. Link winces, and tries to keep a straight face. Aroma puts on the shoes, and seems to be happy for the time being. Link: So, where'd you end up when we went through that warp pipe? Mario and Link exchange their stories, Madam Aroma inserting a few comments while Mario tells his story, while Samus listens with interest.

What kind of weather best represents you?

I got Wild Fire, and I'm not at all surprised. I'm a pyro, and I have been for quite awhile. When I was really little, I used to actually just sit in front of the fireplace and watch the wood burn when we had fires in the winter. -
Lol, no, you are definitely not the only one that liked Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. It was immensly popular back in its time, and it probably will be again. I've heard that it's being remade on the GBA. But, I don't really think it should be included, since it's an RPG and doesn't fit in with the platformers in the main series. Kind of like how Mario Golf and Mario Tennis wouldn't be included. After thinking a bit, I think I've come up with a list of the ones I'd want, for a complete Mario collection. I'd forgotten a few in my previous list: Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros. 3 Super Mario Land 1 Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins Super Mario World Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Super Mario 64. I always forget about the two Game Boy games, even though they're lots of fun, and they really should be included.

Zelda...yes, Zelda is the seventh sage in OOT, and there's no town or village in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link named Zelda. But, that's probably not who you meant. You probably meant Impa, right? :smirk: Okay, now for my question: In Zelda: A Link to the Past, there are two enemies, both found in the same room, that resemble Chain Chomps from the Super Mario Bros. series. Where can they be found?

I think this might've been done before, but......OtakuFound.

I was searching for some Zelda art, I think, and, for some reason, I saw the title "Pika Dance" on the list of sites that came up on Yahoo. I was curious, so I clicked the link, and was brought to a page full of animated Pikachu gifs, with the Pikachu chant from the cartoon playing in the background. (At this point, I actually just sort of sat and stared for a couple minutes). I bookmarked the page, and went on with my search. A few days later, I decided to see what site had the Pika Dance on it, because I was bored, so I took off everything in the url besides "http://www.theotaku.com" and went there. I looked around, though since I wasn't really into anime at that time (I still don't watch all that much now, though I always mean to borrow some from my brother), I just skimmed over the Pokémon section and then left. Well, as luck would have it, the message board that I was going to at that time suddenly stopped working for me about a week after I found theOtaku (stupid piece of crap PC, lol), so I went searching for a new board. I looked around, couldn't find one I liked, and then I remembered theOtaku, which I had bookmarked. I thought "Hey, maybe they have a board," so I went to the site, looked down the list, and I saw the word "Forums." I clicked the link, and there I was at OtakuBoards. After looking around for a day or two, I signed up, and I've been here ever since. Sept. 6 marked my one year anniversary, actually. So, yeah. It all started with the Pika Dance, lol. :twitch: -
I play lots of video games and I read quite a bit, I do a bit a graphic design, and I'm making a website, slowly but surely, so I suppose that'd go under web design... Um...does sleeping count as a hobby? I like to do that a lot...

Just go here to access the PG site, and from there you can get to the general store and the Pong Attack and Pac-Man mini-games and whatnot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link: So, you're sort of a historian, then? NPC1: Oh, yes, I love history. ...If you wouldn't mind, could I ask you a few questions? Link: Sure, why not. What do you want to know? The two talk for about twenty minutes, Link answering various questions about his adventures, until a voice is heard from the kitchen. NPC2: Dinner's ready! NPC1: Oh, my, I forgot to introduce you to my wife, didn't I? Come, you must meet her, she's a wonderful cook! The Toad leads Link into the dining area, where a female Toad is laying out dinner on the dining table. NPC1: Honey, look who showed up for dinner! NPC2: Huh? She turns around, and looks at Link standing next to her husband. NPC2: Well I'll be darned, it's Link! What are you doing in these parts? Link: Actually, I was kind of lost before I got here. I was shipwrecked, and washed up on shore down south of here. NPC2: My, you look like you haven't eaten in days! Come, sit down, I'll get an extra plate and silverware. Link sits down, glad for a meal, and a very good meal at that. He didn't carry a lot of food with him, and it had run out the day before the storm. After dinner, the Toads show him to the spare bedroom, which has a small feather bed in it. NPC2: You must be tired, after all you've been through in the last couple days. Link: Yes, thank you for letting me stay here tonight. Link walks into the room and shuts the door behind him. He wastes no time in unpacking his gear and falling into bed, very glad indeed to again have a soft bed to sleep on. He hadn't slept in a bed since that night at the inn he was staying at, before all of this had started...whatever "this" was. The next morning he thanked the Toads again, and then headed out to the stable to get Epona. Leading her out of the stable, he jumped on and headed out north and a little west, heading towards the castle. He rides at a good clip, and after about five hours, he sees a town in the distance. "Ah, that must be Donut Plains," he thinks. I wonder if I can find out what's been happening lately. Link rides into town, and looks around. Things look normal, and there are certainly no giant Piranha Flowers roaming about. Looking around, he sees people going about their business, not paying him any attention. He rides over to the train station and dismounts, hoping to find someone from Mushroom Village that has news of the Piranha Flower attack.

Yeah, I've seen screen shots and movies of him wearing a brown shirt and a green shirt, I just like the brown one better. That's how he started out. He had a green tunic, and a brown shirt, and anything else looks funny to me anymore. Well, the white tights are okay. he started out without anything besides the shirt and tunic, so just about anything would be better, lol.
-
Nope, you can't hurt other players. Square wanted it to be a friendly RPG, where the players go out and kill monsters instead of each other. Personally, I want it that way, because it'd really piss me off if I just started out and then got trashed by some high level idiot for no reason. The only way I'd want player vs. player fights would be in a battle arena sort of thing where you don't die in the actual game, kind of like the battle arena thing in FFVII.
-
Probably none of you even come close to my obsession with Zelda stuff. I have 327 pictures of official art from the games and 239 pictures of fan art (some of which I drew myself), not to mention 435 sprites, most of which I made myself. Altogether, I have 2191 files in my "The Legend Of Zelda" folder, which takes up 471 MB. :toothy: Cute moogle plushie, I want one... But $50 seems a little much, if you ask me... I wanna see a pic of the Tonberry one, too.
-
Anymore, the only real problem I have with how Link looks is with his tunic. It really should have short sleaves and a collar, like the one he wears in OOT and MM. It just looks kinda funny without the sleaves and collar. ...It'd look like a dress, except that he wears a belt around it... That, and I think he looks better with a brown shirt under the tunic.
-
I wouldn't call the duplicating items/Pokémon glitches cheats... They're glitches, and you're really not meant to be able to do them at all. Personally, I don't find it hard at all to go through the game without using the glitches or a GameShark, because I find it boring to beat (almost) every Pokémon I battle with one hit. I've never used the glitches or a GameShark or anything for getting through the game, and I never will. Me and my friends used the missingno glitch to level up some of our Pokémon to level 100 for battling between us because it was kind of fun to have strong Pokémon that can last a long time in a battle, but that was after I had already beaten Yellow.
-
Yeah, that would work pretty well I think. Put a little graphic or something to the left of the names, with either M, SM, or A, and then the title below the name like it already is. And yes, a spoiler feature would be very nice.
