1. If you want to try your hand at the Pong Attack mini-game, go the the Project Gamer site, then click on the link to general store, and then click "Arcade." From there, click one the link to the Pong Attack mini-game, and there you go. And for taking a screen capture, I just hit the "Prt Scr" (print screen) key, open up IrfanView (an image viewing/editing program), and then hit Ctrl and V to copy the screen capture into IrfanView. Then I just save the file. Just any image program should work for copying the capture into it and then saving it, just don't save it as a bitmap (.bmp) file, because it'll be huge. I save mine as gifs. And Ginny, that was actually exactly what I had in mind, heh. Just a quick run in with Auron, to get Link wondering what the heck is going on even more. :toothy: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link stands and watches as Auron flies away, quite puzzled by Auron's answers. Link: Well that was odd... He looks about him, gazing at the hills around him, the short grass blowing in the breeze. "It would've been nice if I could've asked him where I am," he thinks. He looks over at Epona standing next to him, grazing. "Well, at least I've got some transportation now." Link jumps back up onto Epona, and rides north, having come inland a ways already and figuring that the storm must have blown him far to the south of wherever he was out in the ocean at the time. It's simply a matter of what continent he's on. Riding at a slow trot, Link looks about him in the hopes of seeing a familiar landmark. "It seems I'm right in the middle of nowhere," he thinks. "Not a thing in sight." The hills had flattened out after a few miles, and now there was a decently flat plain with a tree here or there next to a small pond or stream. He sighs, starting to lose hope, and trying to figure what he's going to do when it comes time to stop for the night. The sun is getting low in the sky, and it would only be a couple more hours till evening. Another couple hours pass, and the sun is starting to set. Then, as he turns his head to look over at the sunset, he glimpses something off in the distance. A little to the west of the direction he's heading, Link spots a small house in the distance. "Yes!" he thinks. "Finally!" Link urges Epona into a slow gallop, and changes his course to head for the house. "Maybe they'll even let me stay for the night," he thinks. "A warm bed would be nice after sleeping on that dang boat..." Finally, Link rides up to the house, and dismounts. He walks up to the house, which looks to be part of a small farm, and knocks on the door. It opens, and he's greeted by a middle-aged Toad. NPC1: Why, hello, what can I do you for ya meh boy? Link: Um, first off, I'd kinda like to know where I am. Second, uh, you wouldn't happen to have a spare bed would you? NPC1: You're lost? Heh, around here is the southern part of the Mushroom Kingdom, just a few miles from the Hyrule border. And I'll have to check on that bed, but you're welcome to stay the night. Come on in, and you can tell me what you're doing, wandering around lost. Link breathes a silent sigh of relief, very glad indeed at being in the Mushroom Kingdom. Link: Thanks. You wouldn't happen to also have a stable for my horse, would you? NPC1: Oh, sure, head around the side of the house, ya can't miss it. Just come on in when you've got everything settled. Link leads Epona around the side of the house and into the stables, where he sees a few empty stalls and a few cows in the other stalls. He leads Epona over to one of the empty ones, and gets her some hay. Link: Well, it's certainly been a while since I've ridden you much. Epona neighs softly, and nuzzles Link's side as he puts the hay in the stall. Link: Heh, it's good to see you too. Link smiles and pats Epona's muzzle, and then heads back around to the front of the house. He opens the door, and walks into the living room of the small house. A couch goes across the right wall, except for in the back corner, where a hallway leads to the bedrooms. Bookshelves and a chair line the left wall, and an archway leading to the kitchen and dining area takes up most of the wall. On the left side of the arch, though, is another chair, and on the right is another bookshelf. A few lamps, standing on the end tables around the couch and chairs light the room, giving it a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Link looks around at the shelves which are lined with books, most of them history books. Then, the Toad comes out of the hallway, and sees Link. NPC1: Ah, got everything settled? Link turns around from his inspection of a shelf, and looks at the Toad. But, before Link can reply, he's cut off by the Toad. NPC1: Link?! Link, is it Link?! Link: ...Yes. NPC1: Link, I didn't recognize you outside in the dark! Wow, this is amazing. I had heard you were out traveling, but I didn't think you were around here! Link blinks, both surprised and happy, as the Toad continues. NPC1: I've read everything there is on your adventures, and even written some stuff myself! It's a great pleasure to actually meet you! Link: Uh, thanks, I'm quite flattered. Link shakes the Toad's hand, and sits down in the chair in the corner when the Toad sits down on the couch and motions him to sit also.
2.
Originally posted by Pastbyer Oh... But it still tastes different... (What? I'm only 13! I don't take chemistry! Well, not yet anyway.):blah:
I took chemistry last year when I was 13. It was only a simple chemistry class, but I learned enough to know that yes, water doesn't really change when it's boiled. The H2O molecules move faster when they're heated, and when they're heated to a high enough temperature, they get moving so fast that their gravitational force won't hold them together. So, the molecules break up from one another, and float up into the air as a gas. So, yeah, the water is changing physically, not chemically, like Cera said. And yeah, if you think water tastes bad after being boiled, you must like the taste of bacteria, lol. ;) Oh...and when I first joined, I didn't see anyone using the indigo color. So, since violet is my favorite color and since no one else was using it, I started using it for all of my posts. Quit stealing my color. :p But, anyway, back onto the real subject, lol. It turns out there isn't E. coli in our water. Apparently, the guy that was taking the water samples screwed up and the E. coli found in the original samples came from somewhere else. So, the tap water is safe, and I don't have to drink bottled water anymore. Yay! :) (I can't actually tell the difference between it and the tap water, it's just annoying to have to drink water out of a bottle instead of a glass.

Golem...

Do you mean any ground type moves? Well, Earthquake is the most powerful ground type move that Golem can learn, but it can also learn Dig if you want a two-turn attack. Other than that, I can't think of anything.
4. No, it wasn't a preview for Animal Crossing (AC hadn't even been show yet, other than the version that was being worked on for the N64, which was only released in Japan), he was talking about the little demo video that Nintendo showed at E3 one year, when the GCN was first being shown off. It had a little video Meowth playing a guitar up on a stage, which was based off of a little thing that played after the Pokémon cartoons in Japan called Meowth's Party. The game got scrapped pretty quicky, though.
5. I sooooo wish I had the money to buy this game and still be able to afford the two Metroid games and the Zelda: A Link to the Past remake that are coming out later. If I did, I'd definitely get this game. ...But, Metroid and Zelda are higher on my priority list. About the enemies, though, that is disappointing. When I saw screen shots of four or five enemies circling around Fox, I thought you'd be fighting all of them at once. *sigh* One-on-one fights can be fun, but not for the little dinky enemies. For those fights to be fun, you have to be outnumbered by at least three to one.
6. The reason they don't is because, what if the localization of the US version gets done before another version? Then the US version would have to be delayed, and they'd lose money because the game would be finished but not on the shelves and selling. And there are other reasons, too, I used to know a few more as to why it takes longer to release games elsewhere... So, really it doesn't actually make much sense when you think about it from their point of view, when they're point of view is to make a profit. :whoops:

Sub-nics

It would be kind of cool to have a costom title, while still having your status displayed. And yeah, strikethrough is neat. Double strikethrough is even better. :toothy:
8. DUDE! Isn't anyone using the map?! Auron, which was the red thing with the white wings that Link saw in my post, is over around Pallet Town. Not Raccoon City! Gah! *walks off grumbling about not being able to make up a decent side-story without being dragged over to where the other side-story is taking place* ...That's happened twice now! Okay, there's no way I'm gonna throw away everything me and James have been planning, so I'm going to continue on in the location I had in mind for Link. Link is still running after Auron, just like at the end of my last post. You can join up with me if you want to, Krillen, but I already know where I'm going with Link. Oh, and I got a high score of 461 on the Pong Attack mini-game. The screen capture is attached. It might take a bit to load, though, since it's 1024x768. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link ran through the woods, chopping down underbrush and vines as he ran with great arcs of his two-handed blade, trying to keep up with whatever it was he saw. Suddenly, he bursts out onto an open hillside, the full sunlight shining down on him. He puts away his Biggoron's Sword and shields his eyes. Then, once his eyes adjust to the brightness, he looks up and sees the thing soaring over him, farther away this time. Link can run fast, considering the amount of stuff he has to carry, but not as fast as something that's flying. Link: Dangit, how the heck am I going to get close enough to get a good look at this thing? Link thinks for a minute, and then it dawns on him. Epona! "If I'm anywhere close to Hyrule, Epona should be able to get here!" he thinks. He stops running and takes out his Fairy Ocarina. On it, he plays six notes. "Up left right, up left right," the notes echo out across the countryside. Then, after a few seconds, off in the distance, Link sees Epona racing towards him. She quickly clears the gap between them, and stops next to Link. She neighs happily at seeing Link again, as he puts away his Ocarina and jumps onto her back. He urges her forward, in the direction the flying thing went, racing as fast as Epona can go. Epona continues to gallop across the low, rolling hills, until the flying thing is in sight again and getting closer. As he gets close, almost under the thing, he looks up again. It looks almost like a...man?! Link blinks in confusion, wondering how a man could have large, white wings sprouting out of his back. The thing looks to be flying along rather casually, flapping its wings slowly, gliding along through the air. It seems to be unaware of Links presence, galloping across the hills underneath it.
9. Lol, I immediately thought of that when I heard about there being stuff in the water, Justin. I guess I shouldn't have been drinking my own water... :nervous: And I'm up in northern California. There've been a couple things like this before, that I can remember. Lol, bubblers... I actually like that name better than water fountains, or drinking fountains, or whatever. :)
10. Blegh... I just heard on the local news that E. coli has been found in the water around where I live. So, now we have to boil all of our water for five minutes before drinking it. This really sucks... I do find it rather ironic that only a few days ago I learned a little about E. coli in biology, and how there's different strains of it. Kind of weird to think that the same species of bacteria that's living in my stomach right now, helping me digest food, could also make me really sick just because of one little difference in its DNA. :whoops:
11. Heheheh...name changes...heh... (If you knew me back during v3 and v4, you should know why I'm laughing). :toothy: I like MathGuy2 and The Elite DBZ's ideas. You should be able to change your name twice, like it said in the announcement, and then your former name should stay belong your new name for a month.
12. I think it would get rather boring if you could only control your character in a battle. And really, unless you totally trash a character in your post, it's not going to matter. The other player(s) get to control your character, too. And besides, only being able to control your character would make posts really short. As for being able to post again or edit your previous post, that would be up to CWB. He did say, and I quote, "Read the following rules carefully" in the sign-up thread, though, when talking about the SSB battles... Oh, and if you recognize the quote and where it's from (not the one in the dream since, I practically say where it's from), you get a free cookie. ;) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link drifts in the ocean, knocked unconscious by a shattered piece of his small boat. He drifts on and on in the deep sleep of unconsciousness... Then, his vision seems to fade back in. He's lying in a bed, with a young girl looking over him. Girl: You're going to be all right! What a relief! As Link's vision clears, he looks up at the face. It looks like...Zelda?! Suddenly, everything goes black again. He realizes that he's laying on the warm sand of a beach, face down. He sits up weakly and coughs up water, staring at the ground and trying not to throw up from all the seawater in his stomach, which he swallowed while struggling with the storm. His vision clears, and he manages to stand up. Link: That dream...so real... Link replays the dream, and realizes what it was. "That was...Marin..." he thinks. "She found me on the beach after I washed up on Koholint Island. Guess I wasn't so lucky this time." He looks around, and sees a large beach spread out around him. Link: Well, this is just great. I have absolutely no idea where I am. For all I know, I could be back on the same continent I came from. Link sighs, frustrated, but at the same time thankful to be alive at all. Picking a direction, he starts walking west across a few sand dunes. "At least I still have all my stuff," he thinks. "I'll be able to tell what direction I'm going with my Compass, and if I find somewhere I'm familiar with, I'll actually be able to tell where I am." He continues walking, and at the top of the last dune, he looks out and sees a dense forest a ways from the edge of the sand. "Well, it's as good a direction as any to go, I guess, and at least I won't be out in the sun. He walks into the forest, in under the canopy of trees. Inside it looks as though it's evening, with most of the sunlight being blocked by the trees above. Link wades through underbrush and vines, using his large Biggoron sword to chop away unmanageable tangles. As he walks farther and farther, the trees start to thin out some, until he can see the sky again up through the trees. As he looks up, he sees something red with large white wings soar overhead. "What the?" Link thinks. "That sure didn't look like any bird that I know of." He starts running in the direction the thing was flying, having regained most of his strength, hoping to get all the way out of the forest so he could get a better look at it.
13. Dude, if I ever get a roomate, I'm going to do the knife one. Heck, I could even just do that to one of my freinds, lol. And you know what the best part is? I already have the knives! Bwahahahahaaa!!!!! :twitch: :toothy:
14. Zoonami, eh? Hmm, I really hope they make a FPS that follows in Perfect Dark's footsteps... Without actually being a Perfect Dark game, since that'll be on the Xbox... Perfect Dark is the only FPS that I really like much (though that'll soon change with Metroid Primes release, though that's not your standard FPS), and it'd be cool to have another similar game on the GCN.
15. Okay, lets see here... Gohma, King Dodongo, Barinade, Phantom Ganon, Valvagia, Morpha, Bongo Bongo, Twinrova, Ganondorf, and Ganon. Those would be all of them that have their name come up on the screen. Also, if you want the sub-titles, like Parasitic Armored Arachnid: Gohma, I know all of those, too. :toothy: Okay, quesion, question, need a question... Right, name each item in the trading sequence from Zelda: Link's Awakening. Edit: Yep, that's all of 'em. And the flower is called a Hibiscus. :) Your turn to ask a question.
16. Oh, and by the way, everyone does know that they only get one post in a 4-P SSB battle, right? ...Just checking. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link woke up the next morning much the same as he had the previous morning. The sun was shining brightly, and a light wind was blowing. The only thing noticeably different was the wind. Instead of just being a slight breeze, it had picked up a bit during the night and had become a light wind, the kind that can be quite chilly at night. Link stands up and looks southwest, towards the horizon. He knew it was foolish to expect to see land today, but sitting all day, all alone on the little ship was starting to get to him. He didn't like to just sit in one place for hours at a time, which is actually the main reason why he was traveling around the Mushroom Kingdom while on vacation rather than just staying at the castle or somewhere else. A few hours pass. Link continues to sit and stare at the small waves that gently rock his boat as it continues down the ocean current. Suddenly, Link jumped, startled by a flash of lightning and a loud clap of thunder. He looks up at the sky, and sees dark storm clouds building. "Are these the clouds in my dream?" he thinks, watching the clouds drifting and twisting through the air as high altitude winds blow them about. "No, it couldn't be. These clouds look different. Not so much...well, evil, compared to the ones in the dream. And besides, that wasn't in the middle of the ocean." All of a sudden, a little voice in the back of Link's mind screams "Duck!" That little voice was Link's common sense kicking in, and right when he needed it. He dives for the small mast, and grips it tightly as a wave crashes over the small boat. Another flash of lightning lights up the now dark sky overhead, and the roar of the thunder is deafening as it booms directly over Link. He covers his ears as the noise fades, and then sets to work. First off, he ties down the rudder, pointing it straight, to keep it from swinging about it the storm. He then ties the sail down tightly onto the mast, and then holds onto it tightly himself. As the storm builds, the waves around him get bigger and bigger, crashing into Link's tiny vessel mercilessly. Then, looking behind him, he sees the biggest wave yet closing in on him. Gripping the mast tight, practically wrapping himself around it, he arches his back, preparing for the onslaught of water. The wave crests, and then comes tumbling down directly onto the small craft. Link holds on as tight as he can, but one by one, he fingers slip from the mast. Just as he's about to be thrown from the boat into the raging sea, the wave subsides, and Link coughs and sputter, coughing up seawater. Then, another wave hits from the side. Caught by surprise, Link is tossed from the boat as it flips over, and plunged into the sea. He struggles against the waves, and barely manages to put on his Zora's Flippers. Link dives under the water, and looks for his boat. Visibility below water is about as good as above water, with the storm clouds blocking almost every bit of light from above, even though it's midday. Link searches desperately for his boat. After diving and coming up for another breath of air, Link finally spots the small craft being tossed about on the waves. Link starts swimming towards it, but a huge bolt of lightning strikes the boats mast as he nears it, shattering it into a million splinters of driftwood. When this happens, Link almost gives up and lets the waves take him. But, memories of Princess Zelda flash through his mind. Memories from the first time he met her, back in Hyrule Castle Courtyard, spying on Ganondorf. He remembers rescuing her from the Hyrule Castle dungeon, when Agahnim had taken control of Hyrule. He remembers rescuing her from Ganon, deep inside Death Mountain. And finally, he remembers the small kiss that she gave him when he restored order and peace to the lands of Labrynna and Holodrum, and defeated Ganon after he had been called forth from the Dark World by Twinrova. But, most of all, he remembers her face, her eyes staring into his. In his mind, it seems as though she whispers "Don't give up..." and then slowly fades away... Snapping back to reality, Link finds himself sinking into the depths of the ocean. Choking on seawater, he starts swimming for the surface, swimming with all his strength. Finally, just as he thinks he can't go any farther, he breaks through the surface and coughs up a stream of water. He gasps, taking in a huge breath of air, and then letting it out slowly. He looks around, and notes that the situation hasn't improved since he last checked in on it. He thinks of the words that ran through his head while he was sinking. "Don't give up..." The words run through his mind again. With renewed strength, Link starts swimming, not knowing what direction he's head, only knowing that he has to go on. Then, as he's swimming, a piece of wood from his wrecked ship flies through the air, tossed up by a wave, and hits Link in the head. Everything slowly fades to darkness, and just before Link falls unconscious, he hears the words again. "Don't give up..."
17. Well, I wasn't really talking to you specifically, I was just talking to people in general that say the story is bad. I've heard a pretty good amount of that. Blegh. :twitch:
18. Yeah, I was also disappointed with Yoshi. When I first saw screenshots of Mario riding Yoshi, and different colored Yoshis in particular, I was hoping that you'd be able to eat certain enemies to get different abilities, like in Super Mario World. I don't know about anyone else, but I was kind of annoyed when I couldn't go on a rampage with Yoshi, breathing fireballs at everything at that moves, like I used to do in SMW with a red Yoshi. That was one of the best parts of having Yoshi in SMW. For actually playing through the game, I prefer to just use Mario because I'm better without Yoshi, for the most part. I just used Yoshi for fun, and now that Yoshi can barely do anything (come on, are you really going to believe that Yoshis that live on a tropical islands can't swim, while the ones in the Mushroom Kingdom and Dinosaur Land can?), he seems more tacked on than anything else. As for the story being bad...come on, it's a Mario game. There doesn't need to be a story. The stories in Mario games are not what sells the games, it's the gameplay. I wouldn't care if there wasn't a story at all, because it wouldn't really change the game much. You'd still run around collecting crap while pulling off insane jumps and jumping on enemies, and all the other stuff that makes a Mario game a Mario game.
19. Right, then, I guess it's a battle between me, Boba Fett, The One, and Schratn9... I guess I'll start it off. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link watches the sunset as his first day at sea comes to a close. He checks his compass again, and his map, and tries to calculate how long he should stay in the current before pulling out of it and heading west towards land. He figures that it will be about two more days, maybe less if the wind cooperates with his desired course. Finally, the sun falls below the horizon, and Link lies down on the deck of the boat. He takes off his hat and folds it up, using it as a pillow. He then takes out his Fairy Ocarina and plays a few notes, "A, down, up," and then stops abruptly. "No, I suppose playing the Song of Storms would be a bad thing while I'm out in the middle of the ocean," he thinks. He starts playing again, this time playing Saria's Song. He lies there, playing, the song bringing back memories from his childhood. Of Saria, his best friend and also the person that gave him the very ocarina that he's playing. He remembers living back in Kokiri Forest, in his small tree house. He remembers not having a fairy, and the nightmares he had. Just as he starts replaying that nightmare of seeing Ganondorf riding out of Hyrule Caste, he falls asleep. But, the nightmare doesn't stop; it continues, in a new form. He looks up to see dark clouds covering the sky, and tall buildings around him. Most look abandoned, and the others are on fire. Fire seems to be almost all around him, and moaning and screaming can be heard off in the distance. He looks around him, and sees some people standing in a small group just a few feet away. He looks at them; they seem to be talking together, but he can't hear the words. Then, one turns around and looks at Link and seems to start walking towards him... Just before he can make out the face, he wakes up, gasping for air and beads of sweat running down his face. He sits up and catches his breath, wiping the sweat from his face, and looks up at the sky. The slim, crescent moon is high overhead, shining down on Link. He blinks his eyes a few times, and tries to make sense of the nightmare. "The tall buildings..." he thinks. "Where could that be? ...I haven't had a nightmare since Ganon was imprisoned with the others, and they'd always had some meaning. What could this one mean?" The burning buildings, the screaming and moaning, and the small group of people that seemed to be oblivious to everything around them... It didn't make any sense, and it was fast becoming just a hazy blur in his memory. He lays back down, and quickly falls back to sleep, this time a dreamless sleep. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You know, I kinda wish I knew some of Sub-Zero's moves... Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wing it... Oh, and by the way, this'll be my first spar ever. Lets see if I'm any good. :) Super Smash Bros. Battle 4-P Free-for-All Contestants: Link, Samus Aran, Knuckles, Sub-Zero Setting: Peach's Castle Link, Samus, Knuckles, and Sub-Zero drop from the small platforms hovering in the air, to the roof of Peach's Castle. It's main feature is the large, central tower, jutting up in the middle of the roof, which has a small ledge about half way between the rest of the room and the top, just wide enough for someone to stand on. On either side of the tower, the roof goes out level for a few feet, and then slopes down slightly at the edges for another few feet. Above the start of the slopes are small platforms that hover up and down. One of the interesting things, though, is that small switches appear from time to time, which make blocks appear in certain places when hit. This adds a certain amount of uncertainty to the arena, in addition to the odd Bullet Bill flying into the castle roof every now and then, creating a large explosion. As the contestants drop from their floating platforms, the countdown begins. Link is on the left hovering platform while Sub-Zero is on the right one. Samus is at the base of the tower on the left side, while Knuckles is on the opposite side. Link unsheathes the Master Sword and takes the Mirror Shield off his back, while the others also ready themselves for battle. "3... 2... 1... GO!" The four opponents rush at each other, Link and Samus on the left side of the tower and Knuckles and Sub-Zero on the right. Link runs off the platform at Samus and stabs at her with his sword, but she rolls into a ball, past Link, coming up behind him. She aims a punch at Link's exposed back, but he turns and parries the blow with his sword just in time. Sword and arm cannon ring as metal meets metal, but neither one so much as flinches. Samus then goes for Link's legs with a sweep, knocking him over backwards. As he hits the ground he rolls back against the base of the tower. As he stands back up he throws his Boomerang, blocking the Missile that Samus had fired as he was rolling. Link jumps up to the small ledge on the left side of the tower, but doesn't see Sub-Zero as he jumps over the top of the tower and comes down on Link with a powerful kick to his head. Link is knocked back towards the left edge of the roof, and lands on the slope. Samus looks up at Sub-Zero, who is now standing on the ledge in place of Link. She runs over to the base of the tower as Sub-Zero recovers from landing on the ledge, and does a Screw Attack up into Sub-Zero. He's knocked about in the air, ground against the side of the tower as Samus spins in the air, energy emanating from Samus' suit of power armor. Just before the Spin Attack ends, however, Knuckles drops down from the top of the tower, turning around in mid-air, and punches the two before landing about a foot away from the base of the tower. Sub-Zero and Samus are knocked against the tower and bounce off it, right in front of Link. He does a Spin Attack, knocking them both back in between him and Knuckles. Sub-Zero jumps up quickly as he lands and spins around, kicking Knuckles back away from him. He then turns, ready to face any attack launched by Samus, who landed next to him. He blocks a punch, and counters with one of his own. His punch connects with Samus' breastplate, and turns the metal freezing cold, frost appearing on it. Knuckles, now recovered from the kick, rushes forwards and plants a strong punch on Sub-Zero's back. He's thrown back from the force of the punch, knocking into Samus and causing both of them to fall over. While the two closest opponents are down, Knuckles runs and jumps onto the small hovering platform, which is in between Link and the other two, and then he jumps again off of that, landing behind Link. Again, just like last time, he spins around in the air and punches Link as he's turning to face Knuckles. Link staggers backwards, and then replies with a slash from the Master Sword, catching Knuckles on his right shoulder. The blow doesn't cause a serious amount of damage, about as much as the punch Link received. Sub-Zero rolls towards the tower, and stands up. He then quickly dashes forward and grabs Samus. He throws her over his shoulder, and she bounces off of it and flies up into the air. As she flies back over Sub-Zero, though, she aims and fires a Missile straight down into his head. The blast causes a decent amount of damage, but Samus takes it right back as Link points the Master Sword straight up into the air and fires an energy bolt straight into her as she falls down towards him. She flies back up into the air a bit, and as Link brings the Master Sword back down, Knuckles runs up and trips him. As he falls to the ground, Knuckles punches Link in the face, sending him flying back towards the tower and Sub-Zero.
20. Actually, the next Star Fox game (which is a shooter, like the first two Star Fox games), is being developed by Namco. And, last I heard (which was in the November issue of EGM that I got today), its release date is sometime in spring 2003.
21. It's not favorite threads in and of themselves that are against the rules, anymore, it's the spam that most of them generate. If people actually give reasons for liking a particular one best, then it's okay. It's when a bunch of people reply with just "I like this one best" and leave it at that, that the threads get closed/deleted.
22. Yeesh...this thread has gotten quite pointless, and now it's attracting spam... Thread Closed
23. Do I have any info on it? *writes boss strategy on the spot* :smirk: Boss Strategy - Dethl Dethl, the final boss, will go through five forms before finally showing its sixth and true form. As to be expected, each form has a different weakness and a different strategy to use against it. This makes the fight long and hard, so make sure you come fully stocked and with one of Crazy Tracy's potions. Shadow Bot The first form that you'll face is the Shadow Bot, which is a giant blob. Dodge it as it jumps about the room, and sprinkle some Magic Powder on it to damage it. After a few hits it will change into its next form. Agahnim's Shadow If you've fought Agahnim from Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES), you should know how to defeat this form. Equip your sword (or the Shovel, but the sword is easier), and wait for it to shoot a fireball at you. If the fireball is made up of only one part, swing your sword when it comes into range and bat the fireball back into Agahnim's Shadow to damage it. If the fireball is made up of multiple parts, dodge to the side, because you can't hit them back. Moldorm's Shadow Beating this form should be a no-brainer, considering that you fought a Moldorm as the boss of Level 1: Tail Cave. Equip your sword and Mirror Shield, and slash at its flashing tail when it gets in range. This time you don't have to worry about falling off any edges, though, so you don't have to worry about being bounced off the edge if you protect yourself with your shield. Be sure to take full advantage of this, because you can almost always avoid taking damage by letting it run into your shield instead of you yourself. Ganon's Shadow This one will probably be a little tricky, even if you've fought Ganon in The Legend of Zelda (NES) and/or Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES). This time you won't be using any arrows, silver or no, but you will still be using your sword. Equip the Pegasus Shoes and your sword and dash into Ganon's Shadow repeatedly, while dodging its trident and fire bats. After taking quite a few hits, it'll finally change into its second to last form. Lanmola's Shadow If you've encountered Lanmolas in The Legend of Zelda (NES), you may know a very easy way to defeat these monsters. Just like for the Lanmolas in the original Zelda, the key to defeating Lanmola's Shadow is the Magic Rod. So, equip it, and start shooting while keeping your distance. After you defeat this form, get ready for the hardest form of all. Dethl After beating Lanmola's Shadow, Dethl reveals its true form: A large, round body with one eye and two long tentacles that spin in opposite directions around the main body. Equip the Bow & Arrows and Roc's Feather; they're the only two weapons you'll need for this fight. Use the Roc's Feather to jump over the two tentacles as they swing around the room, the main body seeming to almost follow you. Stay against the bottom wall or close to it, and wait for Dethl to open its eye as you jump over the tentacles as they pass by. When it does open its eye, shoot it with an arrow to damage the nightmare. It will take many arrows to defeat Dethl, and you'll be able to tell when you've almost won when Dethl starts moving faster, and the tentacles start spinning faster. When you finally do win, a staircase will appear. Head up it, sit back, and watch the ending. Quite the hard fight, huh? Well, there is an easy trick to beating Dethl's final form. Complete the entire trading sequence, and you'll get the Magnifying Glass. Take it to a small cave down on the Toronbo Shores south of Mabe Village, and you'll be able to see the person there that will trade you a Boomerang in exchange for your Shovel. (You can trade back and fourth as many times as you want). Now, when you get to Dethl?s final form, wait for it to open its eye. Throw the Boomerang and hit its open eye once, and victory will be yours.
24. So, uh, what's happening with the SSB battle, then? If we're going to have two battles at once, why don't Lauren and Schratn9 have a 2-P battle while me, Boba Fett, The One, and Majora's Mask have a 4-P battle? (If Majora's Mask wants to participate, anyway). And happy birthday, CWB. The big 21, heh. Gonna go out drinking? ;) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link wakes up the next morning, the sun beating down on him as he lies on the deck of the small boat. He stands up slowly and yawns, looking out at the horizon all around him. There's nothing but water for as far as he can see, and not a cloud in the sky. A breeze blows down from the north, and small waves ripple along the surface of the ocean waters. After having gotten out past the large eastern point of the continent with Pac Village and the Green Hill Zone on it, Link points the boat south after consulting a small Compass which he carries with him at all times. He puts up the sail and it catches the breeze, sending him slowly south and a bit east towards the large ocean current running down in between the two largest continents. Once in the current, the going will be much quicker, but until then Link is left with little to do. He stares south to the horizon, thinking about the recent events that took place only in the last few days. "Last few days certainly have been busy," he thinks, letting his mind wander. "Not much of a vacation at all... But it did feel good to be back in action after all this time of barely doing anything since Ganon and the others were locked up. Infiltrating that fortress was almost fun." Link's eyes narrow, as he thinks back through the assault on the fortress. "Still, it wasn't worth leaving Yoshi behind. I can't bare to think of what might be happening to him, if he's been captured..." Link clenches his hands into fists and then releases them, and continues to do this, as he paces back and fourth along the length of the boat. He continues to pace, mind wandering, as his boat starts to pick up speed in the ocean current. At this rate, he should arrive at the shore of the Mushroom Kingdom in a day or two. He takes down the sail, to let the current push him south without the wind affecting his course.
25. Um...why would he ask about the GBA rings, if he was talking about all of the rings? ...And title the thread "GBA Rings??"? Doesn't make sense to me, but I dunno, you may be right. If we are talking about all of the rings, and which are good, the Green Ring is one of the best. It makes your sword do more damage, and it makes enemies weaker. Besides that, the Red and Blue Rings are good for doing double sword damage and taking half damage, respectively. Those three would be the best, in my oppinion.
