Yes, FFXI will most likely have a monthly fee. It does in Japan, so I'm assuming it will elsewhere, also. And for the numbering, in short, FFII is FFIV and FFIII is FFVI... But, here's a more detailed explanation: Final Fantasy: The original Final Fantasy was released in the US on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), and in Japan on the FamiCom (the Japanese NES). Final Fantasy II: Not released outside of Japan. Final Fantasy III: Not released outside of Japan. Final Fantasy IV: This game was released on the Super NES in 1991, under the name FFII. The reason its name was changed from FFIV to FFII is because it was only the second FF game released in the US. Later, this game was re-released with a new translation as part of FF Chronicles on the PSX, once again named FFIV. It was coupled with Chrono Trigger, another good RPG, but not a FF game. Final Fantasy V: This game was not released on the Super NES. However, it did appear as part of FF Anthology, on the PSX. FF Anthology also included FFVI. Final Fantasy VI: This game was released on the Super NES in 1996, under the name FFIII. Like FFIV before it, it was renamed because it was only the third FF game to be released in the US. Later, this game was re-released in FF Anthology on the PSX, once again named FFVI. FF Anthology also included FFV. Final Fantasy VII: This game was released on the PlayStation and PC, in the US. Square just decided to drop the whole number switching for this and the rest of the FF games, so now the US gets the FF games titled with their real numbers. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Anyway, back to FFXI... I've recently heard a rumor (it's just a rumor, nothing official has been said) that said Square may not release FFXI in the US. The reasons would be that Square wouldn't be able to handle maintaining networks in both Japan and the US. I really hope this isn't true, because I've been looking forward to FFXI since I first saw a trailer for it at E3 one year. (I forget what year it was).

Um, why do I have 17 gold? Shouldn't I have 14, since I have 7 posts? Well, I'll have 8 posts including this one... On another note... Whee, really long post! I should get 4 gold for this post, instead of 2, since it's so long! :toothy: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link and Yoshi make their way through some underbrush. They're approaching the pirate's fortress, and are up on a hill overlooking the fortress courtyard. The courtyard is surrounded by a high, thick wall going out around from the base of the cliff to the edge of the sand. A small river, just deep enough to admit a boat, flows down from a hill on the north side of the fortress, and then bends around through the courtyard to head for the sea. At the points where the river flows under the wall are strong iron bars going across the passage. The only way in or out is either over the wall, or through the large gate which is positioned above and around the river exit, so that ships can sail out of the fortress and into the ocean. The gate, however, is closed and seems to be guarded from both the inside and outside. There are also three watch towers positioned around on the wall, with searchlights shining down into the courtyard. Yoshi: And just how are you expecting to get in, let alone get out after you get in? Link: Okay, the way that we get in is...um...hmm... Link thinks how to get in to the fortress without being seen. There doesn't seem to be any way in. "There's always a way in," he thinks. "But what is it?" After a few minutes of thinking and watching, Link announces the plan. Link: Okay, here's what we'll do. First, I'm going to head over as close as we can get to that watch tower over there, while still being up on the hill and level with the top of it. I'll take out the guard in the tower with my Bow & Arrows, and then use my Hookshot to get over to the tower. From there, I'll be able to get down into the courtyard. Once I'm in the courtyard, I'll take out any guards that might be patrolling, quietly mind you, and open up the main gate. Yoshi: Wait a minute, what am I going to be doing this whole time? Link: Oh, yeah. You're going to be the diversion. Yoshi: What?! Link: You'll go around to the main gate, and distract the guards there. When I give the signal, from inside the courtyard, you either run away and draw the guards away from the gate, or take them out. Yoshi: But I don't want-- Link: Look, you can run fast, can't you? Outrun them! This is the only way we're going to be able to do this, and my part is a lot more dangerous than yours! Yoshi: Fine... Link: Okay, so, after the guards are gone, I'll open the gate from the inside and go grab one of the ships moored by the side of the river. I sail out into the ocean, and if you're running from the guards, you can jump onto the boat as I sail along the beach. Yoshi looks at Link, not liking the plan at all. If it was up to him, they would still be back at Pac Beach. Link: Right, so head over to the main gate, and try not to be seen until you're right up close to it. When you see the searchlight move up in the tower I'm going to head for, walk out and start distracting the guards. Yoshi sighs, and then walks off, trying to be as quiet as possible. Link then heads off across the hills, over towards the south-most watchtower. He gets just level with the tower, so that the guard's upper body can be seen. Taking out his Bow & Arrows, he pulls off the tip of the arrow and puts on a small padded weight. He doesn't want to kill the guard, just knock him out. Putting an arrow to the string, Link aims his Bow. With a faint "twang" sound, he fires the arrow, which hits the guard directly in the side of the head. "I've still got it!" Link thinks, as he puts away his Bow & Arrows and pulls out his Hookshot. Meanwhile... "Dangit, why am I doing this?!" Yoshi thinks, as he trudges down the hill towards the gate. "I wish we could have stayed at Pac Beach, rather than heading into a pirate fortress! Or we could have taken a train somewhere else! But nooooo, Link has to get back to the Mushroom Kingdom!" He carries on with similar thoughts for quite awhile, until he gets close to the gate. He hides in some bushes, just a few feet away from the pair of guards standing watch. He looks up, and waits for the searchlight to move. He waits, and waits, and then...the searchlight moves every so slightly. Just enough to be noticeable, yet not enough to attract attention. Yoshi walks out from the bushes, trying to act casual. The guards (both of whom are women) immediately spot him, and reach for their long scimitars. Guard1: Who goes there?! Yoshi: Um, yeah, um, I was just wondering if, maybe, um... Guard1: Well, out with it! We haven't got all night! Yoshi: Yeah, see, um, I'm kinda lost, and I was wondering if you could give me some directions? Guard2: Hey, wait a minute, I recognize you! You're Yoshi, aren't you? Yoshi: Um, uh, y-yes, I am... Guard2: Oh my gosh, can I get your autograph?! Yoshi stares open-mouthed at the guard, who's giggling excitedly as she pulls out a piece of paper and a pen. Back up in the tower... Link hangs onto his Hookshot tightly as he flies through the air to the watchtower, over the long drop below him. After a couple seconds he lands on the tower, and checks the fallen guard. The guard he referred to earlier as a he is actually a she, and she is out cold. Even in the darkness, though, he recognizes the appearance of the guard. "Wow, these must be part of the same band of pirates that I encountered in Termina!" Link thinks. "Heh, they're really going to hate me now. Not only will I have stolen the Zora Eggs that they had stolen, but now I'm going to steal one of their boats." Links thoughts return to the present, and he switches his attention to the searchlight. He nudges it ever so slightly, just enough to be noticed from a distance if you're looking for it, but not enough to attract any attention. He then looks down into the courtyard, and sees four patrolling guards. Two are standing next to the gate, and two more are circling around in the middle of the courtyard. After climbing down the ladder to the top of the wall, he pulls out one of his most treasured items: The Magic Cape. It's bright red with a white border. He puts on the cape, and suddenly, he disappears. All that could be seen of him would have been his shadow, but at night, the few torches burning around in the courtyard aren't enough to cast a visible shadow unless one is standing right next to them. He hurries down the wall, wanting to take care of the four guards before his magic power, which powers the Magic Cape, runs out. Walking quickly and quietly, he makes his way out into the center of the courtyard, getting directly between the guards at the gate, and the two patrolling. He then pulls out Ether, a yellow medallion with a white lightning bolt in the center. Gripping the medallion tight, he unsheathes the Master Sword and holds it straight up into the sky. There's a bright white flash and a loud "foom!" sound, very much like a bolt of lightning. After the flash of light, however, all four of the guards are frozen solid and won't thaw out for a good day. Link quickly sheathes the Master Sword again, and puts away Ether. He keeps the Magic Cape on for as long as he can, however, and looks around at the various buildings around the inside edge of the wall, and the other two watch towers. No one comes out to investigate, however, everyone thinking the flash of light and noise to simply be a thunderstorm approaching. No one notices the small icicles that suddenly formed underneath the watchtowers, hanging down beneath them. Just on the other side of the gate... Guard2: Oh, this is so exciting, I can't believe I'm actually meeting you! I'm a big fan of yours! Yoshi: Uh, thanks. Yoshi writes "Thanks for the directions, your pal, Yoshi" on the paper, and hands it back to the guard. Guard1: Um, okay, if you're done here, then I guess you should get going. Guard2: You're sure you remember the directions to Pac Beach? Yoshi: Yeah, I guess I should. Thanks again... "Come on, Link, come on!" Yoshi thinks, trying to stall for time until Link gives him the signal. "It would probably help if I knew what the signal is. Maybe it'll be something big, so I'll just know it." Just as he finished his thought, there was a large flash of light and a loud "foom!" sound. Guard2: You better hurry, or else you'll get caught out in the rain! Yoshi looks up...and there's not a cloud in the sky. "Yep, something big and flashy, just like Link," he thinks. Yoshi: Well, um, I guess I'll-- As Yoshi says this he opens his mouth and extends his tongue, and wraps it around Guard1's head. She screams as she's flung over into Guard2, and both are knocked to the ground. Guard1: What's going on here?! Hey, get back here! Yoshi runs off down the beach, with Guard1 in pursuit. Guard2 remains sitting on the ground, crying and staring at Yoshi's autograph, her tears falling down onto the sheet of paper. "Why would he do such a thing?" she thinks. "He's so cute and cuddly, and was never mean before..." Time for the escape... Link quickly runs over to the main gate, taking of the Magic Cape, having run out of magic power, and putting it away. He lifts the large iron bar, and pushes with all his strength. The huge metal doors refuse to budge, being meant to be opened and closed by five people at once. "Oh, no," he thinks, his mind racing. "How am I going to move this gate?!" ...And then he remembers something, something he hadn't used for quite some time. He reaches into a pocket, and pulls out the Golden Gauntlets. He puts them on, and gives another push to the giant gate. It swings open, making a loud grating noise as it swings back on its rusty hinges. "Oh dang," he thinks, as he runs back and jumps into a boat. Pulling the rope up off the post keeping in from floating away, he starts up the small motor on the little three-man boat. At the same time, however, guards are pouring out of the buildings, and the two operational searchlights are both on his newly acquired boat. He points the boat out towards the center of the river, and guns the motor. He shoots out through the large, and now open gate, just as guards are about to reach the rivers edge. As he passes by, he sees a single guard sitting by the gate...crying? Link shakes his head, and then looks out along the beach. Yoshi is nowhere to be seen, and there are now boats heading out of the fortress to give chase. "Dang it!" Link thinks, scanning the beach for movement. "Where is he?!" Just then, an arrow whizzes by, landing in the ocean just next to his boat. He pulls the rudder around to the left, swerving, and just manages to dodge a hail of arrows. He looks back at the beach one more time, just to check one last time, and then he swings the rudder around, pointing him out to sea. "Dang it, I hope he's okay," he thinks as he swerves back and fourth through the water, dodging hail after hail of arrows as the pirates chase him. "I don't like leaving him behind, but if I go back, I'll be dead for sure." He sighs as he dodges arrows flying all around him, heading off into the moonless night. Eventually, the pirates give up their chase, disgusted by being outmaneuvered in one of their own boats. A few minutes pass. Link slows the boat, looking up to the stars. He pulls out his Fairy Ocarina and plays the Song of Healing, slowly, drawing out each note. "I was fast, but not fast enough," he thinks. He gazes back in the direction of the shore, wondering if Yoshi has been captured, of if he got away... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link challenges 3 competitors to do battle in the Super Smash Bros. arena.

Dude, if you're going to post something like this, at least post your reasons for liking a particular game best, and ask for the oppinions of others too. Just having a list of peoples favorite games is spam.

Hey, does anyone know of a good fighting type attack that Golem can learn? My friends like to use Snorlax, so it'd be nice to have a fighting type move to combat the normal type Snorlax.

Mmm...cute FF chicks... ...Oh, um, yeah, um...I like the look of the characters, heheh. And yeah, they do look kind of like characters from FFT. (Never played it, but I've seen screen shots and stuff). I can't wait for this game to come out. FF will finally be returning to Nintendo, after all these years of waiting. (I just knew it had to happen some day!) :)
Originally posted by GinnyLyn *blinks* You mean you don't have FF7? Man, you're missing out... OK, being stupid over here (naw, not really, just woke up), but is FFx1 supposed to be completely online, or is part of it playable offline?
FFXI is online-only, so no, you can't play it offline. I do think it would have been cool to have an offline mode, though, where there just aren't any other human players. Or make a split screen multi-player mode, like Phantasy Star Online Ep. 1 & 2 is going to have. And yeah, he's definitely missing out if he doesn't have FFVII. It ties with FFIV as my second favorite FF game. (FFVI taking the number 1 spot).

Link: Hmm...I wonder if there's a harbor around here anywhere? Maybe we could catch a ride on a boat to the Mushroom Kingdom. Yoshi: Hey, yeah! Good idea! Link stands up, and looks down the beach. Unfortunately, there's nothing but sand and water for a few miles, until the view is obscured by a large cliff jutting out into the sea down the beach to the left of them. To their right, the beach stretches on for as far as the eye can see. Link: Well, that makes it somewhat harder... Come on, let?s go take another look at that map in the visitor center. Back inside and standing in front of the map, they see that there's a small dot on the map labeled "Danger: Pirate's Fortress" a few miles down the coast. Link: Hey, the fortress must be just on the other side of that cliff we saw. Yoshi: Uh, Link, I'm not sure I like the sound of that... Link thinks back to his adventure in Termina, where he had a run in with the pirates there. It was also the first time he had encountered the giant, skeletal fish known as Desbrekos. "Hey, I think I even still have that card," Link thinks. He digs through some pockets (which are lined with Hylian Velcro in order to hold all of the items that Link carries around with him), and comes up with his Gerudo Thieves members card. Link: Wow...been a long time since I used this thing. Yoshi: You're a thief?! Link: Well, kind of, I suppose. They gave me membership after I infiltrated their fortress as rescued some prisoners they were holding, and kicking a few of their buts in the process. They were impressed with my skill, so they let me in. I'm the only male Gerudo Thief, actually. Yoshi: What?! Link: Oh, yeah...the Gerudo Thieves are all women, except for me. They despise men, for the most part. Ganon was once Ganondorf, and he was a Gerudo Thief. About once every 100 years, a man is born, and he becomes king. Hence, Ganondorf, the King of Thieves turned into Ganon, the King of Evil. But, the Gerudos despised Ganondorf's evil sorcery, and-- Link looks down to see a blank stare on Yoshi's face. Link: Um...am I boring you? Yoshi: Yes, immensely. Link: Uh, right, back to the matters at hand then. I say we storm the pirate fortress, and steal a boat so we can get back to the Mushroom Kingdom. Yoshi: Uh, right, simple as that, huh? Just walk in, grab a boat, and sail away. Link: Well, it'll probably be a bit more difficult that that, but that's the basic plan. Yoshi: And you don't expect to be captured and tortured?! Link: Umm...I did kinda do this all my life. I think I have some experience with this sort of thing. And besides, there's two of us, so it'll be even easier. Yoshi: Uh, right, okay, fine... The pair heads back outside and onto the beach again. The sun is starting to set, and brilliant reds and oranges dance across the waves. They watch as the sun dips below the horizon, and finally disappears from sight. The breeze blows gently, carrying the slightest bit of ocean spray through the air. Link and Yoshi stand there enthralled by the beauty of the scene, until finally, Link speaks. Link: Well...time to go nab us a ship. The pair set off, heading towards the pirate's fortress under the cover of darkness, hoping to sneak up unnoticed.

I used to use that move set on my Golems (I think they're really good, if you want a rock/ground type), but the problem with Fire Blast is that Golem's special attack stat kinda stinks. I'm looking for a replacement for Fire Blast, but I haven't quite decided on what move yet. The Rock Slide, Earthquake, Explosion set is good, though.

Lol, you actually got it. The Zelda Game & Watch game is simply called Zelda. So, go ahead and ask a question.
-
No, as far as I know, you can't make animated gifs with it. It's not really for making images, though, it's more for viewing and editing them. For making animated gifs, I use Animation Shop.
-
I chose "I'm better than average" on the poll, and that's actually what I got on the first one; a 123. On the Emode one I got a 129, and I'm apparently an "Inventive Inquisitor" that's "good at mathematical and verbal skills and have a thirst for learning through experience." I agree with the math skills, but I'm not so sure about verbal skills. Fun tests. They managed to hold my attention for a good half hour, lol. :twitch:

Do you mean, like, does it show the animation of a gif when you view it? If so, yes, it does.

Go to www.irfanview.com and download IrfanView. It's freeware, it's easy to use, it has a ton of cool stuff it can do (including resizing images quite easily), and you can download plug-ins for it that let you view just about any type of image or movie file. All in all, it's just a cool little program that I use all the time for viewing and editing images. So, yeah, if you need to resize an image for your avatar, just download it and resize it with that. If you ever do anything else with images, you'll probably find that it comes in handy. Especially for converting from one file type to another. It has a feature which converts all of the image files in a folder to a format of your choosing. So, if you have a ton of jpgs that you want in gif format, you can convert them with just a couple clicks. Okay, I've rambled on enough, lol. It's just that it's a really cool little program. :)

Ganon lurches back as Tyron grabs his neck and squeezes with all his strength. Link takes the opportunity to jump forward and land a long, overhand slash down Ganon's side. Ganon roars in pain as he shakes Tyron loose, sending him sliding across the floor a ways but not hurting him too bad. Then, strange purple-green waves start to emanate from Majora's Mask. It shakes violently and the eyes glow bright red, glaring down at Link, pure hatred within them. Link holds up the Master Sword, straight above his head, and the Triforce symbol on his left hand shines brightly. The waves emanating from Majora's Mask change their course and, instead of focusing on Link, they focus on the Master Sword. It starts glowing with the energy building in the ancient blade. Link: The true power of the Master Sword comes not from it or its wielder... But...from its enemies! Link slashes down so that the Sword is pointing directly at Majora's Mask, the waves of evil energy still flowing from it to the Master Sword. The Sword is now pulsing with the purple-green energy, filling the entire room with an eerie darkness. Then, all of a sudden, the sword glows a blinding gold, causing everyone, including Link, to look away and cover their eyes. Then, Link fires an energy bolt at Majora's Mask, and with it goes all of the power of the evil mask, concentrated into one, powerful blow. When the light fades, Majora's Mask is laying on the floor in front of Ganon, blackened and scorched. Link is sitting with his back against the wall, having been thrown back by the power of the blast. Tyron and Karina are likewise against opposite walls, after having be thrown aside from being beside the blast as it passed by. Happy...was behind Ganon, and he now lays unconcious, the Fierce Deirty's Mask on the floor beside him in a pile of ashes. Though the mask took most of the blow, it was still enough to knock him out cold. Everyone just stares at Ganon, whose's still in the same place he was before, seemingly undamaged by the blast. He reaches down to pick up Majora's Mask off the floor...and it crumbles into dust when he touches it. Ganon: Very well, fool, you have succeeded in destroying Majora's Mask... But I am still here! Ganon dashes at Link, trident raised, ready to stab Link through the heart while he's vulnerable. Link quickly jumps up and dodges to the side, leaping out and aiming the Master Sword. He fires an energy bolt into the side of Ganon's head, and then does a backflip away from him as he spins around with his trident. Link: Too slow, Ganon. Remember, you're not just fighting me, you're fighting the Golden Power of the Triforce. The very power you once used to enslave Hyrule, now turned against you. Ganon snarls and shakes his head, and suddenly, he disappears. Karina and Tyron rush over to Happy, and gently shake him. He wakes up, his vision blurry and his head swimming. Happy: Huh? Who turned out the lights? I was just about to make my big move... Link: It's not over yet. He's not gone for good, just waiting. He'll most likely try to catch us off-guard. Link was right. A few seconds after finishing his sentence, a large fiery bat appeared and rushed at Happy. Link just managed to get off a quick shot from the Master Sword in time to deflect the bats course, sending it into the wall where it disappeared. Link: That was him, in an alternate form. Stay alert, and be ready to dodge. The small group walks cautiously about the room, searching for any sign of danger, ready at any moment to leap out of the way of an attack. Though they had defeated Majora's Mask, they had only won half the battle.

I believe you mean the one when you first talk to Princess Zelda in the Hyrule Castle Courtyard, and she tells you about the creation of the world and it shows the Three Goddesses flying through the sky and whatnot. The one when you get the Kokiri's Emerald doesn't show too much of the goddesses, it's mainly just to tell you that the Triforce exists, and where it came from. (The Three Goddesses left it behind on earth when they left). But anyway, yeah, that'd probably be my second favorite cutscene from a Nintendo 64 game. It is quite cool. :)

Ah, I guess if the map isn't working, you have a legitimate reason for not using it, heh. I'll attach the small version of it that I saved. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link and Yoshi walk into the visitor centers gift shop, which is filled with post cards, calenders, collectable shot glasses--all the things you'd expect to find in a gift shop. In a room off of the gift shop is the actual visitor center, with a large map on the far wall. The two of them walk over to it, and see a large red dot on the east side of the continent, almost directly east of Pac Village. The words "You Are Here" are above the dot. Link: East side, eh? I wonder if that's good or bad. A female pac person that works at the visitor center is walking by, and happens to overhear Link's comment. She also just happens to be wearing a hat with real fruit stuck on it. The fruit, like the hat itself, is square, and Link can't quite imagine how such a thing as square bananas can exist. It just seemed like it shouldn't happen. NPC: At Pac Beach, everything is good! Link is about to reply, when an idea comes to mind. He grins, and looks over at Yoshi. Link: ...Yoshi, are you hungry? Yoshi: Yeah, that was a long train ride! I could eat a whole truckload of fruit! Link: Take a look at that cool hat. Link points at the hat the girl is wearing. She has a confused look on her face, not quite sure of what's going on...but she soon finds out. Yoshi looked over at the hat, and couldn't stop himself. He opened his mouth and extended his tongue, grabbing some of the fruit off of the hat. The girl shrieked and ran off, with a hungry Yoshi in pursuit. Link allowed himself a satisfied smile as he casually walked out of the building. Once outside, Link walked down to the edge of the beach and sat down, enjoying the sun...and watching Yoshi chase the pac person around on the beach, grabbing fruit off of her hat. "Now this is what a vacation should be," Link thinks.

Me? Popular? HA! ...Okay, had to let that out, heh. I'm not really sure if I'm popular or not. Probably not, since I have a small group of friends and I barely ever talk to anyone but them. It's not really that I'm shy, it's that I just don't really like many people. To tell the truth, I find a lot of people to be quite annoying. So, yeah, I might be considered to be an outcast, but it'd be because I choose to be one. Online, people aren't as annoying because, well, you can just ignore what they write. In real life, it's hard to ignore someone that's talking to you because they're right there, well, talking to you. Online, you can just skip over someones post and that's that. I really have no idea whether I'm popular on the internet or not. I have a few people that I talk to regularly, besides posting here on OB, but other than that, I really haven't gotten to know anyone that well. The main reason I come here is to talk about gaming, which is why I usually stick to the series and gaming forums. Heck, the only reason I'm writing this is because I'm up late and bored, so I thought I'd take a look in the Otaku Lounge forum. So, yeah, call me popular, call me an outcast, call me weird, call me a freak, whatever... I've actually come to take those last two (and others) as compliments, because it usually means people consider me to be different from "normal" people. And I like that. I like being different, and I don't want to be like other people. I wear the clothes I like, I listen to the music I like, I play the games I like, and I act the way I like. I try my best not to offend anyone, and I'm actually one of the nicest people I know, I just don't care what other people think of me. They can think what they like, but anyone that truly gets to know me will realise that I'm actually quite nice and friendly. Of course, there aren't many people that get to know me, because I tend to avoid most people... I guess you could say I pick my friends carefully. So, whatever... Think what you like of me, call me what you like, I don't care. Nobody is going to change who I am, no matter what they think, say, or do, so why should I care? It seems like most of the time, what people call "popular" is really just going with what the majority of people think is "cool," which makes the majority of people like you. I find that rather stupid. I, myself, am not going to conform to the "latest fashion" or whatever else is supposed to be "cool" at the time, just so some people will like me for a while. I'd rather be myself and only have a few "outcasts" as friends that are of the same mind as I am.

Lol, I had forgotten all about that... I think you read it to me one time, though I didn't see the picture. It sounds like something you'd write...whatever that means. :twitch: ...It is funny, though. :toothy:

Uh, Lauren, Schratn9? Me and Krillen (Link and Yoshi) are on a train headed for a beach somewhere on the continent that Pac Village and Green Hill Zone are on. Not in the Mushroom Kingdom. Aren't people using the map that CWB posted in the sign-up thread? I saved it, and I keep track of where people are on it when I'm writing a post. Oh, and if anyone doesn't know, NPC stands for Non-Player Character. I'm not good at thinking up names, heheh. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link opens a door on the side of the speeding train, and steps into the interior of the car. It comes as no surprise that the car itself, the seats, and everything else inside is perfectly square. There are a few pac people sitting in the rows of square seats, so he walks over and sits down next to one. Link: Hey, so where're we headed? NPC1: What, you got on a train without knowing where it's going? Link: I was, uh, kind of in a hurry. NPC1: How could you be in a hurry without even knowing where you're going? Oh, and that's one point for me, isn't it? Link: Huh? What do you mean, one point? NPC1: Oh, good one, but do you really think you can beat me? Link: What are you talking about? NPC1: What, can't think of something original? Link: WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!?! NPC1: Are you telling me you've never played the question game before? Link stares at the pac person, a blank look on his face. He then gets up slowly, and makes his way back outside to where Yoshi is waiting. Yoshi: Any lu-- Link: Don't...ask... Yoshi: Um, right, maybe I'll go have a try at it. Yoshi walks over to the door, and enters the car. He then goes and sits down next to the very same person. Meanwhile, Link is just sitting, staring out at the countryside rolling by, the same blank look on his face. His thoughts wander, until he comes to the subject of just how he got himself into this mess. "You know, all of my other adventures seemed to be a lot clearer," Link thinks as he sits there. "I mean, really, some bad guy appears, I usually have to go around and collect a bunch of crap so I can defeat said bad guy, and then I go and do it. Easy enough, there was always a set objective, and I always knew what I was after. But this time... This time, there is no point, no goal, no objective, no bad guy, nothing wrong... Well, except for that horde of Piranha Plants at the inn. That was kinda out of the ordinary, but other than that, everything seems normal! Yet here I am, on a train, headed for who knows where with Yoshi for a companion. Great..." Link's thoughts continued to wander, still just staring out at the countryside with the same blank look on his face. Finally, about two hours later, he looks up as Yoshi comes back out of the car. Link looks as though he just woke up from some strange dream, and isn't sure if what he sees is real or still a dream. Yoshi: Well, I managed to find out where we're headed! That fellow sure liked to ask questions, though... Well, anyway, I managed to find out that we're headed to Pac Beach! "Definitely not a dream," Link thinks. "I couldn't bring myself to dream something like this even if I wanted to, for some reason." He sighs, and looks up at Yoshi. Link: You do realise, don't you, that we already knew that?! Did you manage to find out what side of the continent we're headed for? Yoshi: Oh, yeah, why didn't you ask sooner? We're headed for that one over there! Yoshi points about 50 feet away, towards a large beach, the ocean waves gently lapping at the shore while a few seagulls circle overhead. Link hadn't even noticed the train stop at the station. "No, most definitely not a dream," Link thinks again, and again he lets out a long sigh. "This is worse than any dream." Link: Well, come on, there's bound to be a map somewhere around here. NPC2: Hey, wait, where did you two come from?! You weren't on the train when we left! Link: You're right, we weren't. Here. Link reaches into his tunic, and pulls out a business card from a pocket. He hands it to the pac person, who slowly reads it. NPC2: "Link, Legendary Hero of Hyrule. Slays monsters, rescues girls, recovers ancient relics that have the power to destroy the world if they happen to fall into the wrong hands, namely the Triforce. Mail: Link's House, Kakariko Village, Hyrule. Phone: 1-800-LINK" For a minute or so, no one says anything... They all just continue staring at the card... Finally, Yoshi beaks the silence. Yoshi: Dude, you have business cards?! Link: Hey, what am I supposed to do now that all the villains are locked up? I gotta bring in the Rupees somehow, and just going aroud cutting down bushes isn't any fun unless I'm on a quest or something. That, and the neighbors don't like having their lawns clear-cut... So, are you going to let us off the train, or what? NPC2: Oh, yes, Link, sir. I didn't recognize you at first. Link and Yoshi step off onto the platform, and look out at the beach. But, there's no time for swimming now, so they head over to the small visitor center, complete with gift shop, that's next to the train station in the hopes of finding a map.

Cool idea that I've had since seeing Pokémon Stadium: Why not make a game (in 3D, of course) where, instead of having the battles turn based, you actually have an arena (like, an area so big, for battling), and then you give your Pokémon commands and it responds. It would be like it the cartoon, where you're the trainer, and you could tell it when and what attack to use, to dodge, and other stuff, and the two Pokémon would actually move around in the arena and fight. Maybe they could even have a microphone accessory so you could actually say the commands, if they could get the voice recognition good enough. I wouldn't want it for an online game, though. Either that, or have it so both trainers have to agree on which fight style to battle with. That would be really cool, I think.

Yeah, they could and most likely will do that, like you said, but they'll also be making other offline FF games, so people that aren't really into the online MMORPGs or don't want to pay can continue to enjoy the series. Besides FFXI, I'm really looking forward to the new GBA FF game, and whatever they do on the GCN. I want them to continue making normal, offline RPGs, but at the same time keep adding to FFXI.
