My favorite is A Link to the Past, on the SNES and soon to be on the GBA. Why? Well, I think it's mainly just the overall gameplay. Short of the two 3D Zelda games (OOT and MM), no other Zelda game has as complex and challenging dungeons, and the way that they worked the Light and Dark Worlds together for puzzles and whatnot was really fun. That, and it has 11 dungeons, making it quite a long game. Also, it's got the best set of items in any Zelda game, I think. It's one of the few where the Boomerang is actually useful, it's got Bombos, Ether and Quake, the Magic Cape, the Fire and Ice Rods, and other cool ones. My biggest problem with the game, I think, would have to be with the way they did the sword shots. First off, they're really wide, so they're too easy to hit with, and second, they only do as much as the Lv. 1 sword. Personally, I think the shots should do damage equal to the sword level below the one you have, and the shots should be long and narrow, like the ones in Link's Awakening. Oh, and I'd like to remind people that if you're going to reply to this thread, give some reasons why you like a particular Zelda game. Don't just say "I think this one is best!" and leave it at that... *cough* ^The above post.^ *cough* ...Any posts like this will be deleted.

Link looks around to see a bunch of round, yellow people standing around him and Yoshi. Apparently their sudden entrance had caused a bit of a stir, and a small crowd had gathered. Yoshi: I wonder what they taste like? Link: Uh, Yoshi, I wouldn't lick them if I were you... With that, the pac people quickly walk away, not wanting to stick around for the possibility of being licked by a large, green dinosaur. The crowd breaks up, and the two of them are left gazing around a decent sized, and very square city. The buildings are square, the trees are square, and the small square in between a few buildings that they seemed to have warped to is, well, square. Yoshi: Whee, lots of squares! Link: Ugh...I guess you could say everything is squared away. "I can't believe I just said that," Link thinks as the two of them start walking down a street. Link: I wonder where the villagers and the rest of them ended up? Yoshi: Probably not anywhere near as fun as here! I wonder if they have square fruit? Link slaps his forehead and shakes his head, wondering how he's going to get himself out of this one. First he thinks back through how exactly he got to be here... It was all that dang rabbits fault! Link sighs, and shakes his head once more. Link: Well, this would be Pac Village, if I'm not mistaken. That would mean we're...a long ways away from where we were. Across an ocean. The pair continues walking, until they come upon a train station. As Link looks out at the trains, he just glimpses one pulling away, and two pac people jumping onto the back of it. "I wonder if they accept Rupees here," Link thinks as he looks at people coming and going around the train station. "Of course, I've got no idea where the others ended up, so it's probably no use getting on a train." Link: Well, what do you think we should do, Yoshi? And don't say we should try and find some square fruit.

Elephant statues? Um...the fifth dungeon is in a giant catfish, and the sixth one has statues around/in it, so I'm assuming it's the sixth... What part of the dungeon are you stuck on? Hmm, it seems I'm too late... And I was all set to write a walkthrough for Level 6: Face Shine, too... Oh well, if you still need help after reading the one off gamefaqs, I can help.

I used to read every night, usually for a couple hours... And then I found a little website known as OtakuBoards. :toothy: Heh, yeah, I used to read a lot more than I do now, but not just because of time spent on here. I'd buy more books, but I seem to always run out of money from buying video games, heheh. I will get a book from one of my brothers sometimes, though. I've already read through their entire Star Wars collection, and I've also bought a few, which makes up almost all of them. I've only read two of the New Jedi Order books, but I didn't really like the first two, so I didn't want to spend the money on any more. I've also read all of their Discworld books (by Terry Pratchet), and bought a few of my own. And, I've also read lots of other fantasy and science-fiction books that they have (the two genres that I like). Actually, I'd be reading a book right now, in the Dragonriders of Pern series, but my oldest brother has the next one in the series, and most of his books are out in boxes in our garage... So, I can't really get to it, with the ammount of stuff in our garage. Bleh... Maybe I'll just go out and buy another Discworld book. It's been too long since I've really sat down and read a good book.

Lol, it seems you've already found a picture to put in my profile, CWB. ;) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link unsheathes the Master Sword and takes the Mirror Shield off his back, and Mario readies FLUDD's Squirt Nozzle. Then the three of them step into the lobby, and face the door which is being pounded on by the huge Piranha Plants outside. Link: That door isn't going to hold much longer. Get ready! Link stands firmly in front of the door, holding the Master Sword straight out, pointing at the door. As the first hole in the door appears, Link fires an energy bolt from the Sword. It flies through the hole in the door, and a roar can be heard from outside. Link: Looks like I got one. Mario: Don't get too cocky. Link grins as he changes his stance to one more suited to normal swordplay, rather than shooting, and raises his shield. Just then the door breaks down, and a gigantic Piranha Flower bursts through. Mario quickly sprays it with a blast of water, and Link takes off its head with one quick chop, before stepping back away from the next plant lunging through the doorway, teeth snapping. Then Yoshi opens his mouth, and his tongue flies out, grabbing the Piranha Flower. The tongue is then retracted, and Yoshi gulps down the monster in one swallow. Link: What was that?! Yoshi: Me getting a free meal! Yoshi slurps up another of the advancing Piranha Flowers, as Mario proceeds to spray one after another to stun them, and then jump on them to squish them. Link, however, goes for a more direct approach. Blocking a lunge from one of the Flowers with his shield, he starts to hack off heads like there's no tomorrow. They manage to actually make some progress out into the street, and are confronted with hordes of the vile vegetation. This, however, turns out to be a mistake, as the small group is quickly surrounded. Mario: Mama-mia, what a mess! Link: Don't count us out yet! Mario, spray all the ones right around us, and then jump up onto a roof. You too, Yoshi! Link crouches down, shield raised, sword held out behind him. The Master Sword starts to glow a faint blue, getting brighter, until it changes to red. Mario does a Spin Jump and sprays water at the same time, dousing the surrounding Piranha Plants. Then he and Yoshi leap up onto a nearby rooftop, just in time to avoid Link's fully charged Spin Attack. Waves of red energy emanate from the Master Swords blade, slicing through the Piranha Plants as easily as if they weren't there. Yoshi: Wow, that was fantastic! The wave of Piranha Plants seems to slack off after that, but only for a little while. And, when they start coming out in full force again, it really is in full force. Among the smaller ones are much larger ones, lumbering down the street at them. Link: Um...guys? I, uh, think this would be a good time to, um, leave. Mario: Yes, um, right... Yoshi: Lets split! The three of them leap back through the inns doorway, and run down into the cellar. They lock the doors on their way down, and then practically jump down the trap door. At the bottom of a small ladder, then start running down a musty old tunnel, which is barely lit by a few old candles hung along the wall.

Somehow I really doubt that all online games on the GCN are going to be free. I'm not sure if Nintendo will charge for online games that they make, but other companies could charge a fee for their games.

Link: Heheh... Smooth move. Mario: Hey, at least I didn't go straight into the crowd. They both look around for a while, trying to figure out what all the fuss is about. Finally, they're able to make their way to the front of the crowd, where they see a large Piranha Flower in the flower bed just outside the door to the inn. It was lunging and snapping at anyone that approached it. Mario: Wow. It's been a long time since I've seen one of those. Just then, the innkeeper, who's walking about in a panic in front of the inn, sees Mario. Innkeeper: Mario! You've got to do something, it won't let anyone into the inn! Mario: No problem, we'll have this thing out of the way in no time! Link: Hey...that thing looks almost like a Deku Baba, from back home. Mario: Hmm...I'll squirt it with some water to distract it, you give it a good chop with your sword. Mario switches to the Squirt Nozzle, and sprays a stream of water at the Piranha Flower, which makes it jump and lunge in Mario's direction. At the same time, Link unsheathes the Master Sword, and when the Piranha Flower lunges at Mario, he slashes down at the section where the flower's head meets the rest of the stem. The head falls clean off, and it and the rest of the flower shrivels up, leaving a small dead weed in the flower bed. Innkeeper: Oh, thank you, Mario, and you too, Link! I didn't know you were here in the Mushroom Kingdom. If there's anything I can do for you two, just ask! Link: Hmm...how about getting us a couple of glasses of Lon Lon Milk? Innkeeper: Sure, come on in and sit down. It's on the house. The innkeeper smiles, and leads them inside to the large dining room off of the inns lobby, where there are some tables and a kitchen in the back. Link and Mario sit down at a small table, and the innkeeper brings them their milk. Link: Well, that was fun. Been awhile since I've used my sword. Mario: I wonder how it got to be in the flower bed, though. Anymore, you barely see any out in the county, let alone in town. Link: Very odd indeed. They both sit there a while, talking and drinking their milk, relaxing.

Well, I haven't played the game yet (I'm going to rent it, and then see if I like it enough to buy it), but for the trading I assume it'd be like the passwords in Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages. Someone gives you their character and town name, and then you go to wherever to send an item. It gives you a password for sending that item to someone with a specific character name and town name, and then you give that password to the person. They go and enter the password, and get the item. That'd be the only way to send stuff between games without having their memory card or over the net that I know of.

Yeah, I've thought that an online Pokémon game would be really fun, if they did it right. Do the world in full 3D, and have it so you can go just anywhere, not just specific towns and routes. Make a full world, so that you can go anywhere in Kanto/Johto, or wherever it's set in. Do the battles like in the Stadium games, and keep a win/loss record for everyone one in the game, that can be viewed at Pokémon Centers, so you can actually know who the best trainer is.

Yeah, I've heard that Square is going to great pains to keep people from being able to cheat. If somene wants a level 99 character so that they can gloat over other people, they should have to earn it.
Originally posted by PiroMunkie You can't see my ears, and I can catch my bangs in my mouth, lol. Just the very tips of them though. My hair isn't as long as Desbreko's though. :bawl:
My hair rules all other hair! :smirk: I'm letting my hair grow long, and I put it in a ponytail. My bangs actually come all the way down to my chin, now, if I just let it hang in front of my face. (If I don't have my hair in a ponytail when I'm eating, I have to be careful not to get it in my mouth, lol). I like it in a ponytail, though, because I don't have to brush it ever except once in the morning. That and I think it just looks better than any other haircut that I've had. And yes, I have had my hair cut too short. Of course, I've always liked it long, so what I think is too short some people might think is just right (like my mom). I don't plan on getting my hair cut again until it's down past my shoulder blades.

Link woke up to the sound of someone knocking on a door. He sat up in bed and shook his head, looking around. That's right, he was staying at an inn in a small village just a few miles from Princess Peach's castle. He stood up and walked to the door, opening it. "Hello?" said Link, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. The person on the other side of the door was a Toad, and the innkeeper. "Remember, you gotta be out of here by 11:00 AM,? said the innkeeper. ?I?ve got reservations for today." "Yeah, I know. I won't be long." He closed the door as the innkeeper walked away down the hall, and yawned. Walking over to the small window in the wall, he opens it, letting the cool morning breeze flow into the room. Again, he rubs his eyes and shakes his head, and then splashes some water onto his face from the small sink in the room. "I wonder what events today will bring," he thinks as he gets dressed, putting on his customary light leather shirt and pants, with a green tunic belted at the waist over them. Bending down by the end of the bed, he picks up his sword belt, with scabbard attached, and puts it over his shoulder. In the scabbard is none other than the legendary Master Sword, the sword that has been used to defeat Ganon, the Kind of Evil, many times, and also many other foul monsters. Lately, though, it hasn?t been used for quite a while with Ganon safely locked away with the other super-villains, and peace once again ruling in Hyrule and the other lands. Link sighs as he packs up his Mirror Shield and other items, and walks out of the inn, onto the road. This trip was meant to be a vacation of sorts, but something had been troubling Link?s mind. Something in the back of his mind, that he couldn?t quite sort out. He had also been having unsettling dreams again, but everything else seemed to be normal. As he walked down the road towards the Princess' castle, he thought back to his last "vacation," which had seen him battling nightmares on an island that was really all just the dream of a giant fish. "What a peaceful journey that was," he thinks sardonically as he continues down the road. "And I hear that there are Goombas here, too." He grins, remembering the mushroom-like creature on Koholint Island, which could be killed by jumping on them. There were indeed a few Goombas still around in the Mushroom Kingdom, though not many anymore. The monsters roaming the lands had significantly decreased over the last years, until it was quite rare for anyone to run into one. He continues to let his mind wander as he trudges down the road. After a while, he pulls out an ocarina and plays some tunes to keep himself amused.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo is making a GCN Pokémon game, but we don't know what yet. Pichu Bros. Party Panic got canceled, so that's out, but I think I heard that they're going to release something Pokémon on the GCN sometime next year. If it is just another Pokémon Stadium game, I'm definitely not going to get it. I don't even know if I'm going to get Ruby or Sapphire when they come out on the GBA, actually. Like I've said before, they've gotta come up with a good new story for me to get it, because going through and battling for badges has gotten kind of old. They've gotta add something else into the mix, or else I don't see Ruby and Sapphire being much more than G/S/C with more Pokémon.

One of the best things to use on the wall is Poison, so use that a lot with Rydia, and cast Berserk on Cecil because all you're going to be doing with him is attacking. Jump with Kain, use the magic type spell things that Edge has until he runs out of MP, and then Dart some shuriken or ninja stars, or whatever you have for throwing. Heal with Rosa and use Ethers on her and Rydia if they run low on MP. That's about the best strategy for beating it that I know of.

From what I've heard, you can play FFXI decently with a 56K connection. Of course it's going to be a lot better with a cable modem or DSL or some type of broadband, but it's not actually required. It'll probably just run a bit slow sometimes.
-
Booyah! I'll be in it. I'm also going to get the PC version because one, I don't have a PS2, two, even if I did have a PS2, it'd be cheaper on the PC, and three, you already have a keyboard to type with on the PC. :)
-
Well, I don't own it, but I rented it a long time ago, before even the N64 came out. I had fun playing SMB3 with the updated graphics, and playing the Lost Levels, though I didn't get very far in that (it's too dang hard!). It's definitely one of the best games on the SNES, since it combines four classic Mario games on one cartridge. As for a second Mario All-Stars on the GCN, that would be so cool! I'd want them to include Super Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3, the Lost Levels, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, and Super Mario 64. That would be awsome.
-
Final Fantasy Adventure? ...Dang. Well, I thought FF Adventure looked good, too, so maybe I'll still get it. Oh, and I did read in Nintendo Power that Super Mario RPG is being remade for the GBA. Maybe I'll get that instead.
-
Well, they're releasing a PC version in Japan (it might already be out, actually), and I'm most likely going to get it if it's released on the PC in the US. About not really having a storyline, well, I've heard that it does actually have at least somewhat of a storyline. I've heard that there are bosses that'll be really strong, and'll require multiple people ganging up on it to beat. When something big like that goes down, I'm looking forward to being right up in there, healing my buddies and busting it up with my knife, staff, bow, or whatever weapon I happen to be using at the time. :)
-
Naw, just that isn't enough reason to get it. After all, Mario Kart Super Circuit has all of the tracks from Super Mario Kart. But yeah, there are supposed to be a bunch of NES games that you can get. Maybe I'll have to get AC just for The Legend of Zelda, if it's on there. ;)

It kinda occupies both my number 1 and number 2 spots for my favorite GCN games... Number 1 in that it's just a great game, but number 2 in that I just play SSBM a lot more... But yeah, if you're looking for a platformer, it's definitely the best on the system. I don't like it quite as much as Super Mario 64, mainly because there's not as much variety to the worlds, but it's still my third favorite Mario game (Super Mario World takes the number 1 spot). I've gotten up to 113 Shines so far, and I think having the Blue Coins actually makes the game longer, because it takes 10 Blue Coins to get a Shine, and some of the Blue Coins are hidden really well. On a few of the worlds, I have absolutely no idea where the last couple Blue Coins are, and it's going to take a lot of searching to find them. In short, if you like platform games at all, get this game. It's one of the best on the GCN, and I think I'd give it a 9.

I spent a lot of time (and still am spending a lot of time) on writing the walkthrough for ShineGet.com. Also, I worked on my Zelda website some more, and nearly got the A Link to the Past section done! I also joined a few other boards, such as D_A's and Sirven's, though I wasn't on them much... Oh, wait, I'm only telling about what I did in the evenings and nights... In the daytime, I was (and still am) playing Super Mario Sunshine (up to 113 Shines!) and Perfect Dark. :) I usually play about two, three hours of games a day, and spend maybe a half hour, 45 minutes writing for the walkthrough a day, on average... Okay, so maybe not quite that long on the walkthrough, but I'm a quick writer for that sort of thing. :toothy: Oh, yeah, and I started my first year of highschool, too. That might've meant something to me if I hadn't been doing highschool level work for the past year. :p

Booyah! I get to be any Link I want, with the items I want! *does a happy dance* Oh, and so people know, I'll be playing the older, more cool-headed Link from the Oracle games, instead of the "I'm shocked by everything going on because I'm still a kid" Link from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. :D *goes off to make up the item list for Link* Oh, and a couple suggestions for additions to the store would be the Power Glove, which would let you lift heavy objects, such as really big rocks, etc. Another would be Red Potions, which you could use to restore your life to full, in either the RPG or the SSB battles.
-
Actually, I've fought a Wobbuffet on the Violet City side of the Dark Cave, but only once. I was Surfing in the first pool of water you get to, and I happened to run into one. I didn't capture it, though, and then I finally just decided to give up after a long time of searching for another. If you want one, just wait until you can get to the other side of Dark Cave where they're more plentiful.

Yes, yes, yes, Secret of Mana! I'm finally going to be able to play that game! I remember watching my brother and his friend play it when they rented it for the SNES a long time ago. I was still too little to play, but I remember that it looked really good, and I've heard a lot of good things about it. Now all I need is a remake of FFIV and FFVI... Final Fantasy Tactics... I dunno... I've heard good, and I've heard bad. I won't be buying it until I rent it or something, but I may end up getting it if I have the money. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicle... It really depends on what it's like. Again, I'm going to rent it first, just like I did with the other FF games that I've bought. Some RPGs I like, and others I don't really care for, and I don't have enough money to take a chance by just buying it when it's first released.
