Heheh, do you mean the Skedar Ruins level? The last one? Heheh, that level was fun on Co-Operative. My brother would go first, and I'd cover his back. Gotta love those aliens that jump out at you while cloaked! :toothy: While not my favorite N64 game (the top three spots go to Zelda: OOT, Zelda: MM, and Super Smash Bros.), Perfect Dark is definitely high up on my list of favorites. I need to get together with my friends sometime soon, and we can have fun blasting each other to pieces! :naughty: ...Uh, in the game, I mean... Yeah, in the game... :twitch:

1. The Full Moon Cello, Conch Horn, See Lily Bell, Surf Harp, Wind Marimba, Coral Triangle, Organ of Evening Calm, and the Thunder Drum. 2. The NES, Super NES, Game Boy, Philips CD-i, Nintendo 64, and Game Boy Color. Also, in December the Game Boy Advance will get one, and in February the GameCube will get one. 3. Marin is the name of the girl that finds you on the beach, if that's the girl you mean. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Right, now for my question: In A Link to the Past, when do Super Bombs become available?

I think what Red XIII was saying was that, since you Pokémon's stats won't be as high when you use a bunch of Rare Candies on it as they would by raising it normally, you should duplicate a bunch of the items that boost stats, also... Which is really obvious... If that's not what he meant, I have no idea what he's talking about. Although, even if you do duplicate a bunch of stat boosting items, that still won't help you, since you can buy those items. Anyone that's serious about raising a team would also save up enough money to get a bunch of those items to use on their Pokémon, in addition to raising the Pokémon to level 100. So, you still come out with weaker Pokémon if you cheat and level up your Pokémon with Rare Candies. And yes, even encountering missingno can screw up your saved game. There's not much as much of a chance as if you catch it, though, but there is a chance (though it's pretty unlikely for just encountering it). The worst thing you can do, though, is put it in a box. That makes it even more likely to screw up your saved game. That, and you really don't want to transfer it over to Pokémon Stadium 1 or 2. If you do, there's a chance the Transfer Pak you're using will stop working for transfering Pokémon.

Yeah, you can't play the 1P missions, but you can still play the some of the game without the Expansion Pak. Personally, I don't even really like the 1P missions. The Co-Operative mode is okay, but I don't really like playing the missions by myself. I think online play would add quite a bit. Just imagine being able to join a server, and play with other people's preset match set-ups. That way, everyone would be able to share their set-ups, and make up their own based off other people's. Actually, I can't really think of much that they could add to the multi-player other than online play. I mean, they already have a bunch of modes, such as straight deathmatch, Capture the Case, Hacker Central, and Pop A Cap (my favorite, short of straight deathmatch). That and they've got all those challenges, which get really hard on the later ones. Those would be fun to try online, especially if they kept on making new challenges for people to beat.

Uh, people? He already bought a GCN... Thread Closed
Originally posted by Sensei-San Most?...Let me rephrase that....you need the expansion pack for ALL of the game, lol.
No, you don't need the Expansion Pak for all of the game. You can play the multi-player challenges, 1 and 2P multi-player in the combat simulator, and have up to eight simulants, all without having the Expansion Pak. It says so in volume 131 of Nintendo Power, at the start of the article on Perfect Dark, where it has a list of what you can play without the Expansion Pak (what I mentioned above), and what you can play with it (all of the game).
-
Yeah, Perfect Dark really did push the N64 as far as it could go, even with the Expansion Pak which is required for most of the game. I don't think the GCN will have much of a problem there, if any, though. Yeah, more stealth parts would be nice, too. I think my favorite level in the original is the Chicago level, where you have to hide from the police robot, sneak around in the sewers, and create a diversion by blowing up a cab so you can sneak into the G5 Building. It took me and my brother a few tries on co-operative mode, even on the easy difficulty, but it was really fun! As for online play, that really would go a long ways. The Combat Simulator in the original was really cool by itself, letting you have up to eight CPU players, and letting you save your own match set-ups and stuff. Online play would enhance the multi-player even more! One thing, though, that I would like to see left out, is the Combat Boost. Those things are just so dang annoying! I mean, sure, it can be kind of fun to use one in the middle of a fight, but for other people trying to get to the fight it's a real pain in the butt.
-
Hmm... that's kinda the end of the game, so, I dunno... If you haven't gotten all the Pokémon, you could try for that. Or you could raise another team, specifically for battling, instead of for getting through the game. Other than that, I can't really think of much to do once you've beaten Ash, since he's pretty much the "end boss" of the game.

When I click on the link, it brings up a page that says "This folder is not yet public." What's up with that? Edit: Ah, nevermind, it's working now.
-
Yes, there was that previous thread... That's now old, dead, and not to mention closed... So, maybe we can use this new one to discuss what we might like to see in the new game, such as improvements and such. Personally, I'd like to see bigger, more open levels, where you can explore more instead of just going on the beaten path each time through the mission. While yes, this wouldn't work too well for some missions (like the first one in the original Perfect Dark), they could work on making more missions where you can explore. And yeah, I don't think either Nintendo or Rare would want those two games released close to each other. They'd get the sales split between the two games, instead of getting people to buy both by releasing them apart.

*remembers back to the days of the N64, waiting for Ocarina of Time to come out* ...You know, this sounds almost exactly like what happened to OOT... It got delayed until March 1998, then got delayed again, and again, until finally it was released in November 1998. When we look at the GCN Zelda game, it was also scheduled for release in the fall, then it got pushed back to the first quarter of the next year... Hopefully it won't follow in the footsteps of OOT and get delayed all the way to the holiday season... Okay, yeah, it sounds bad, but I really doubt that it'll get delayed anymore. A big part of the delays OOT suffered from were caused by it originally being developed for the N64 Disk Drive, and then they ended up porting it to a cartridge, which didn't have as much storage capacity as one of the disks. That, and the N64 was just all around hard to develop for, which is just the opposite of the GCN. So, I'm betting that they'll make the February 2003 release.
Originally posted by Domon I may sound old school for Link's design but my god can't they use the Link form from Super Smash Brothers Melee as a design for the Legend of Zelda for Game Cube?! This "anime style" is dumb! But as I stated earlier I respect your opinion, I'm just stating mine. Thank you.
*laughs uproariously* You like the old school Link, do you? Take a look at this. This is what Link is supposed to look like in the original game: Now, this is straight out of the instruction booklet, so yes that is what Link is supposed to look like. Now, when I look at Link in the GCN game, I see a cel-shaded version of the original Link, which is not too far off from that original art. It seems that you don't want the "old school" Link, you actually want the "new school" Link, from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Next up, the "cuddly teddy bear" enemies. Now, I'd like you to take a look at this. This is also art from the instruction booklet for the original game: Yes, that is a Moblin, or Molblin as they were called in the original game. Now, when I look at the Moblins in the GCN game, I really don't see much difference, other that they're cel-shaded and a little bigger. There's also one more thing that I don't think many people realize... The Legend of Zelda is not this dark, foreboding story... It's a stinkin' fairy tale! I mean, really, what are you trying to do in the original game? That's right, you're trying to rescue a princess (Zelda) from an evil monster (Gannon). The Legend of Zelda was not meant to be a serious, realistic game. It's main purpose was to let the player have their own fantasy world to explore. So to all you people spouting that you want the "old school" Zelda back, realize that that is exactly what you are getting. Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are the only two semi-realistic Zelda games, and they are the two newest console Zelda games. And yes, I know, everyone is entitled to his or her own oppinion, but it seems like many don't actually know what they're saying when they say they want the old Link back. Anymore, my main purpose is not actually to change people's minds about the GCN Zelda, it's simply to make people understand that this new GCN Zelda is going back to what the series should be. I really don't care if people don't like the cel-shaded graphics, I just want people to know what they're talking about.

First off, you can't catch Raiku and Entei without chasing them. There just isn't any other way, unless you cheat with a GameShark or something. As for where you get Rock Smash, it's in the town up in the north-west corner of the map... I forget the name... It's the one with the steel type gym.

Yeah, I'm sure it's currently possible to creat a 13 lb. mouse-like creature that can create/store electricity, and then use that electricity to shock things. I don't think they'd be able to get past the problem of the thing frying itself, if they even got that far.

Red, of course, just like when he's in the Deku form. Okay, time for a question from one of the newer Zelda games: In Oracle of Seasons, how many different colors of Subrosians are there? (The color of their robes). Edit: Yeah, there's green, red, and then Rosa wears orange. There's one more, though. Edit 2: Yep! There's red, blue, green, and then Rosa wears orange. Ask away! :)

Okay, their names are Koume and Kotake. In Majora's Mask, Koume runs the boat cruise, and Kotake runs the Magic Hags' Potion Shop. Okay, for my question, which Zelda game never shows Princess Zelda on-screen? And by the way, we're only allowed one image in our signatures, and that one image can only be 500x100 pixels. So, please remove the quiz one, or remove the banner and resize the quiz one. Thanks. :)

The game I've played the most on the GCN (and the only game I own, actually), is Super Smash Bros. Melee. I've got almost 100 hours of play time logged since I got it for Christmas, and about 120 hours of power time (I listen to the music in the Sound Test a lot). Other than SSBM, I played through Luigi's Mansion twice when my friend lent it to me, and I played Cel Damage a bunch when my other friend lent that to me. The reason I haven't gotten another game, though, is because I got a WaveBird and then I started saving up for all the games that are going to come out this fall. The next game I'm going to get is Super Mario Sunshine, which will start off my buying spree. :)

Moved this to the Pokémon forum, since it's on the subject of Pokémon games. First off, I'd like to point out that the Stadium games really aren't anymore "childish" than the Game Boy games. The Stadium games are, afterall, pretty much the GB games minus the RPG elements. It's just all battles, which are played out exactly the same as in the GB games, instead of having a story and having an overworld and dungeons to walk around in in addition to the battles. Pokémon Snap, I suppose, could be considered to be aimed at kids a little more, though I still had fun with it when I rented it when I was 13. It wasn't something I would buy, but I did spend an extra $3 to print out four of the pictures that I took (I got a really good one of the two Pikachu in the first level using Thunder Shock on the tree stumps, and then one each of the Legendary Birds). I'd say it was definitely worth the money to rent it. Hey You, Pikachu! is aimed at a little younger audiance, from what I've read. I haven't played it, though, so I don't know first hand what it's like. So, really, it's just a matter of oppinion. One person may think Pokémon Snap and others are more for younger kids, while another may enjoy them, like me.

Were you, perhaps, using the Justin Bailey password, on the original Metroid? I went and tried using that, and she had green hair. I think maybe she has green hair when you use that.

Okay, he doesn't seem to be asking a question... So, I'll ask one, just to keep this thing going... He can ask one later, if he wants. Okay, I'll make it easy, just to keep this going: In Majora's Mask, where does Guru-Guru (the music box guy that plays the Song of Storms) practice at night?
-
First off, how would you know that the game isn't fun to play? Have you played it? Considering that it's only out in Japan so far, I'm betting you haven't. Secondly, for the online part, that's pretty much a matter of oppinion. Some people will like the idea of playing with tons of other people all together online, some won't. Third, all online games have server problems, mostly when they're just starting out. They get fixed, though, and after awhile they run pretty well. And last of all, no you don't need a T1 for FFXI. Normal broadband will probably be more than good enough, and a 56K narrowband connection will probably work okay too.
Originally posted by OlgaTheDwarf I cannot say for sure 100% what I'll get next, But I will say this I would sacrifice my cat's life to own Perfect Dark 2. Hopefully animal sacrifices won't be needed to get it, because I like my cat. :)
You have a cat? *thinks* ...Oh yeah, now I remember... Yeah, I like your cat too. It doesn't hurt when it jumps on you while you're in bed, unlike your dog, lol. :twitch: (I still remember that quite vividly, by the way, heheh). But anyway, why don't I get Super Mario Sunshine, and you get Star Fox Adventures when it comes out on September 23? When I get SMS I can lend you SSBM so you'll have something to play until I beat SMS or you get SFA. Then you could lend me Sonic Adventure 2: Battle while you play through SFA and/or SMS. Then when you're done with SFA, you could lend it to me so I could play it. Gah... too many abbreviations... *starts drooling as his eyes get really big* ...But anyway, I think that could work. Whadda ya think?

Well, I'm also a Christian, and I agree with Devidramon. Someone that claims to be a Christian and then tries to force Christianity on you is either in the wrong or is not actually a Christian. So if you only dislike Christianity just because your mom has pushed it on you, I'd suggest actually taking a look at it and seeing if you truly don't believe it. If you do decide to change your religion, well, no one can stop you, and if your mom really is a Christian she's not going to disown you or anything. Yes, she may get mad at first, but she will still love you. My advice is to really look into both Christianity and other religions before deciding on a religion. And I really do hope that you're not just wanting to change your religion to rebel against your mom. No offense, but that is really not a smart thing to do. You are, afterall, talking about changing your whole life.

Um... There's something you have to realize... It's going to be a very, very long time before they'd be able to make one... As in, we probably wouldn't live to see it... Nintendo wouldn't waste the money on trying now, and believe me, it would cost a lot. I mean, really, we're talking about creating a whole new species.

I don't know when stores will start taking pre-orders, but I'm going to be checking pretty often as the release date gets closer. So, I'll post it when I find out. I don't want to fight the crowds. I hate large groups of people.
