You'd have to go through Goron Village, all the way to the back of Durunia's room, then all the way to the other end of the Crater, which I believe involves climbing up that huge wall (no Skulltulas, though). Going up the outside of Death Mountain seems like it would be quicker.[/color]
  2. [color=indigo]First off, Nintendo hasn't said anything about working on "real" Pokémon. It's just another rumor. Yeah, a virtual reality Pokémon game would be cool, but that's quite a ways off. I don't think video games are going to be virtual reality for quite some time. I think an online Pokémon game would be something along the same lines, though, and that's actually possible here and now. I'd love to see an online Pokémon game on the GCN, where you have an overworld to run around in, and they could do battles like in Pokémon Stadium. There could be gyms, and you could earn badges, and work your way up until you beat the Elite Four. It could keep a record of everyone's wins and losses, which could be posted up in Pokémon Centers, so you could see who's number 1, and see where you rank in the world of Pokémon. I think it'd be cool, and I'm sure it would do well.[/color]

That way we can mock the people that are standing in line as we waltz right in the door when the store opens and pick up our copy. :naughty: Of course, some kids may just ask for it for Christmas, since it's being released on December 9. So, we may not get the huge lines, like we normally would... Actually, we might see parents standing in line for it, then... That'd be even more fun![/color]
  5. [color=indigo]Yeah, ten more does sound a little high, but you have to realize that, after the A Link to the Past remake and the GCN game comes out, there'll already be ten out. That's ten Zelda games over about 14 years... And I don't see Nintendo going anywhere in the next 14 years, if the video game industry as a whole stays profitable... Lets see, 14 years after the GCN game comes out, it'll be 2019. When you look at it that way, it seems like it's quite a ways off. So, like I said before, as long as they can keep coming up with new ideas I think they'll keep making them. The Zelda series is one of Nintendo's most popular series, and thus one of the most profitable, so I don't think Nintendo would just cut us off after the GCN game is released. Personally, I think the Zelda series still has quite a ways to go, both in 2D on the GBA and 3D on the GCN. As for the series ending on a bad game, I don't think Miyamoto would let there be a bad Zelda game... He has, afterall, at least supervised the making of each, to make sure that they're up to his standards. So, as long as Miyamoto is around (and I don't see him leaving Nintendo anytime soon), I think they'll keep making Zelda games as long as they can keep making them enjoyable and fun to play.[/color]

You fight him in Onox's Castle, which is located at the top of the Northern Peak, immediately to the west of the sunken Temple of Seasons... Well, he's the end boss of a normal game. If you're playing a linked Oracle of Seasons game, then you'll still have to fight Twinrova and Ganon after beating Onox. I also had the Master Sword (Lv.3 sword), and it did help, though I could have done it with the Noble Sword (Lv.2 sword) without too much more trouble. I still used Spin Attacks on Ganon, though, simply because his attacks were so dang easy to dodge. I'd just dodge until the Spin Attack is charged up, wait for him to appear, and then slash him with it. I think I only got hit about four times through the whole fight.[/color]

[color=indigo]That wasn't directed at you, it was aimed at the people that first made up the rumor about there being two GCN Zelda games. :) And that Space World 2000 video wasn't anything at all... It was a tech demo, to show off the graphics of the GCN... True, the GCN Zelda did start out realistic looking before Miyamoto decided to go with the cel-shaded graphics, but that video wasn't from the actual game. It was just something they made up to impress the crowd.[/color]
  8. [color=indigo]Yes, the multi-player mode in the Zelda: A Link to the Past remake will definitely add more than the Mario Bros. multi-player mode in the Super Mario Advance games. Mario Bros. is quite old, while this new multi-player Zelda is brand new, afterall. :) While I'll still be buying it for the A Link to the Past remake for the most part, the multi-player definitely makes me all the more eager to get it.[/color]

It's probably been brought up ten times or more since I joined OB... [color=indigo]*gasp!* James is a Pikachu fan too?!?! *faints* Yeah, Pikachu's also my favorite Pokémon, with Zapdos close behind. :) Lets see if I can come up with a cool Pikachu-like Pokémon off the top of my head... Wow, that didn't even take a minute, lol... Okay, we start with Pikachu, make him about the size of Raichu, and color him black. Now we take those grey spiky things off Entei's back, color them the same shade of yellow that Pikachu starts as, and stick them on it's back. Then we add some cool yellow thunder-like stripes, like Electabuzz has. Make the tail a little longer and make is so it's a little more curvy, but leave the ears the same. Now we make the red spots on it's cheeks gold, and give it red eyes. It'a an Electric/Dark type with very high speed and special attack, and it can make itself glow to illuminate it's immediate surroundings. You get it by using a Dark Stone (yeah, yeah, they don't exist, but this whole Pokémon is made up, afterall) on Pikachu. It's name is... *thinks for awhile* ...Aw heck, I don't know! I'm horrible at thinking of names![/color]

That picture you linked to is from a CG scene in FFVI in FF Anthology (that's Kefka in the front, and Terra in the back). FFIII on the SNES is the Japanese FFVI. When they made FF Anthology on the PSX, which has FFV and FFVI, they used the Japanese numbering. So, FFIII on the SNES is the same game as FFVI on the PSX. Likewise, FFII on the SNES is the same game as FFIV on the PSX, which is in FF Chronicles. The only difference between FFII on the SNES and FFIV on the PSX is a couple CG scenes added to the PSX version and a new, better translation. The only difference between FFIII on the SNES and FFVI on the PSX is a few CG scenes that they added for the PSX version. SNES FFII = Japanese FFIV SNES FFIII = Japanese FFVI PSX FFIV = Japanese FFIV PSX FFVI = Japanese FFVI[/color]
  12. [color=indigo]I agree that they'll sell out quickly (I'm gonna reserve my copy as soon as I can), though I doubt they'll be more than the normal $30 that most first party GBA are. Heck, they're selling the GBA itself for $10 less than the MSRP. Who knows, though, maybe they will jack up the price. I know I'd pay whatever they charge, if I have the money. :toothy: (Hopefully they don't also know that, lol). Now, I just need to badger my friends into also getting it, so I'll be able to play the multi-player mode. :shifty:[/color]

[color=indigo]Well, I'll say something like what I said in the thread in the Final Fantasy forum, that was on this same subject: They'll keep making them as long as they can keep introducing fun new ideas, while the games are still profitable. There's really no telling how many more there'll be. It all really depends on how long they can keep coming up with new ideas, I think. I don't think Nintendo would keep on releasing new Zelda games, if they're practically all the same, one after another. If you'll notice, each new Zelda game has something new added (and the first Zelda created a whole new type of games). In Zelda II they totally changed the view; in A Link to the Past they could have multi-level dungeons and more items and stuff with the power of the SNES; In Link's Awakening, they introduced the trading sequence which has been in every game since in some form or another; with Ocarina of Time they had the first 3D Zelda; in Majora's Mask they had the time limit and more interaction with the townspeople instead of having a lot of dungeons; in Oracle of Ages/Oracle of Seasons, they introduced the pets and Seeds... And that's just naming a few things... So, yeah, I think that as long as they can keep coming up with new ideas, they'll keep making Zelda games. If I had to take a guess as to how many more will be made, I'd have to say somewhere around 10, not including the GCN Zelda or the A Link to the Past remake. That'd make around 20 games in the series (not including the offshoots), which is quite a few.[/color]

Heck, one of my my brothers is 18 and he's just learning to drive with his permit, in my parents' cars. So, if I do get my permit at 16, I probably won't really use it. After having watched my parents and two of my brothers drive, I have to say it really doesn't look that hard, expecially with an automatic. I don't think I'll be scared of driving, since, well, I'm not really afraid of getting in an accident. If it happens, it happens, it'd just be another thing that I'd have to deal with for awhile.[/color]

  19. [color=indigo]*gets ready to rattle of the list of games that I'm planning to get over the rest of 2002 and beyond* Okay, first off, I will be getting Super Mario Sunshine for my next GCN game. Then I'm probably going to be getting a Memory Card 251, and then save up for Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion, which are coming out on November 18. Then, I'll be getting the Zelda: A Link to the Past remake that's coming out in December. If I have enough money in between that Memory Card 251 and Metroid Prime/Fusion, I may get Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. Right now, though, I don't know if I'll have the money. As for 2003, I'll be getting the GCN Zelda in February, and then possibly the PC version of FFXI, if I can get my computer upgraded. I'll probably be able to upgrade it, though, if I just ask for money for both Christmas and my birthday. As for beyond that, who knows... Also, I'm going to have to get together with my friends, to see which games they're planning on getting. Maybe together we'll manage to get most or all of the great first/second party games coming out this year. Then we can just trade them back and forth, so we'll all get to play them all. :)[/color]
  20. [color=indigo]I don't see the multi-player mode as much of a risk, since the A Link to the Past remake is the main part of the game. Heck, that's going to be the main reason I buy the game. I think they just wanted to try something new, and if it works great. If it flops, it's not going to hurt them much, since you still have the greatest Zelda game ever, in my oppinion, right there in the same cartridge. And yeah, I also thought that maybe more areas will open up, the farther you get in A Link to the Past. If they do it that way, all of the areas are gonna open up quick on my game. :smirk: Hopefully, they'll have at least eight dungeons to explore, though. Or maybe they could make it so each time you beat a dungeon in A Link to the Past, a new one in the multi-player opens up, so you could get a total of 11 dungeons! That'd be really cool! Oh, and there is going to be a sort of multi-player mode on the GCN Zelda game, which uses the GCN - GBA Link Cable. The person using the GBA controls Tingle, and can drop bombs into the GCN game. On the GBA screen, you see a kind of map of the area that Link is in on the GCN game. The bombs will also hurt Link, in addition to the monsters, though, so I guess the second player has to be careful where he/she is placing the bombs. It sounds interesting, though I have to say the person playing the GCN game could end up getting really pissed at the person playing the GBA, lol.[/color]

There are some that I just stopped playing because I got tired of them, but I can't think of any that I gave up on because I got stuck. ...Oh, wait, there is one game, but it's on the PC. It's The Secret of Monkey Island, an old LucasArts adventure game. I gave up after trying every item I have on everything in the area that I'm stuck in, and every item I have on every other item that I have. (No, I'm not exaggerating, I actually did that and nothing worked). Actually, the CD for the game is sitting right next to me, on my desk. Maybe I'll get it out and try it again some time...[/color]

I hope they do beta tests for FFXI over here in the US, and I hope I'll get to be part of the PC version test! That'd be really cool, being able to play it before it's released. :drool:[/color]

  24. [color=indigo]Hey, I've been thinking about the Zelda: A Link to the Past remake that's coming out for the GBA in in December (in the US)... Specifically, I've been thinking about the new multi-player mode that they're adding... To me, it looks like it could be fun, getting to go through dungeons with your friends and having to work together to solve puzzles and whatnot, but at the same time fighting each other to get the most Rupees. Now, I think that they could make this fun, but at the same time, they could make it pretty crappy, also. I think it mainly depends on how the dungeons are set up. If it's mainly just enemies, and a race to kill the most enemies (so you can get the most Rupees), then I think it would get boring pretty quickly. But, at the same time, I don't think it'd be much fun if you're just mainly working together to solve the puzzles and stuff like that. I think that in order for them to pull this off, they're going to have to balance it out, while at the same time having big, winding dungeons to explore together, and then have a big boss at the end that would require more than one person to beat. I was just wondering, what do other people think about this new multi-player mode that's going to be added? Like I said, I think it could be either good or bad depending on how they do it, and I'm hoping it'll turn out good.
