1. Nope, you're either talking about the entrance to the Gerudo Training Ground, or the entrance to the Haunted Wasteland. There are no fences involved, for rescuing the four carpenters. :) Okay, since I'm not sure which three carpenters you've already rescued, I'll just tell you how to rescue all four of them: The First Carpenter When you first approach the Gerudo's Fortress, one of the guards will spot you and you'll be thrown into a cell. Look up, and you'll see a wooden beam over a windowsill. Target the beam with your Hookshot/Longshot, and pull yourself up to the windowsill. From here, you'll have to jump down to the ground, and run into a doorway on your left. Time your jump well, or else you'll be caught and thrown back into the cell (you can, however, stun the guards with an arrow, which is very helpful). Upon entering the doorway, you'll find the first carpenter. The Second Carpenter After freeing the first carpenter, go through the other doorway (not the one that you entered by), and you'll be in courtyard of sorts (don't hang around in the courtyard, or a guard may spot you). Go through the other doorway in the courtyard (the one to your left), and hide behind the crates inside to keep the patrolling guard from seeing you. This is another occasion when a good arrow will make it easier. One hit and the guard will be temporarily stunned, letting you run right past her. Back outside, you'll go around a corner to enter another doorway (you're up on the roof, so you don't have to worry about the guards on the ground noticing you). Another guard patrols outside the doorway you need to enter, however, so you'll either have to try and sneak past when her back is turned, or shoot her with an arrow to stun her. Inside the doorway, you'll find the second carpenter. The Third Carpenter After rescuing the second carpenter, go through the other doorway, and you'll be standing on the roof of the Fortress, with a doorway on your right (it's the only other doorway on that section of the roof). Inside, you'll be in a room with two guards patrolling in the lower section of the room. If you look up at the ceiling, however, you'll see two wooden beams running across the ceiling. Target the second one with your Hookshot/Longshot, and pull yourself across. (You can also use the Hoover Boots, if you have them, to float across to the small platform in the middle of the gap, and then to the other side). After exiting through the doorway on the other side of the room, you'll be back outside. Jump off the roof to your left, and you'll land in front of another doorway. Inside, you'll find the most difficult guard to avoid. Hide behind the crate in the corridor, and wait for her to pass out of sight as she walks down the left-hand passage at the end of the corridor. Now run down the right-hand passage, and into the doorway on your left before the guard turns around and sees you. (Or, you could just stun her with an arrow while hiding behind the crate and just run past her, which makes it so much easier). Through the doorway, you'll find the third carpenter. The Fourth Carpenter After rescuing the third carpenter, exit the way you entered. Turn right and drop to the lower rooftop, and then make your way to the doorway ahead. Inside, follow the corridor to the room with the fourth carpenter. Rescue him, and you're home free. After defeating the guard, she'll give you the Gerudo's Membership Card which lets you roam free in the Fortress, and gives you access to the Gerudo Training Ground and the Haunted Wasteland (beyond which lies the Spirit Temple).
2. I also prefer Blizzard, simply because I really haven't had it miss all that much. I dunno, though, it just depends on what your preference is. If you don't want to risk missing, go with Ice Beam; you'll hit more, but it's not as powerful. If you like to go all out with a more powerful move and you don't mind the risk of missing, go with Blizzard... It's the same situation as with Thunder/Thunderbolt and Fire Blast/Flamethrower...

Boss Help

Yes, it would help to have either the Blue Ring (you take half damage while wearing it), or the Red Ring (you do double damage while wearing it). Both of them are very helpful, but I prefer the Red Ring.. For getting the Red Ring, yes, you have to defeat four golden monsters that are somewhere in Holodrum, and only appear in certain seasons. However, before you start looking for them, you'll have to talk to the old man in the cave just south of Level 1: Gnarled Root Dungeon. Change the season to summer, and then go down the stairs just below the entrance to Level 1, and you should be able to access the cave that he's in. After you talk to him, the four monsters will appear. After defeating the four golden monsters, go back and talk to him to get the Red Ring. For getting the Blue Ring, you can only get it in Oracle of Ages (just like you can only get the Red Ring in Oracle of Seasons). To get it, you have to have the Power Glove (lv.2 Power Bracelet), which is found in Level 8: Ancient Tomb. Then, you have to lift up one of the big blue statues in the maze that leads to Level 8 (the Sea of No Return). It's in a chest under one of the statues on the east side of the maze. So, unless you're playing a linked Oracle of Seasons game, you won't be able to get the Blue Ring to use while fighting Onox. The Red Ring will still help a lot, though, because you'll only have to hit him half as many times. If you need help finding the four golden monsters or fighting Onox, I can also help with that.
5. Yes, Navi may have left because Link didn't really need her, because he's a Hylian. Either that, or they got seperated somehow... Those are the only two reasonable possibilities that I can think of, as to why Navi is gone... Yes, the Young Deku Tree tells Link that he is actually a Hylian, and that his mother left him in the care of the Great Deku Tree to keep him safe in Kokiri Forest (after you beat the Forest Temple in OOT, the Young Deku Tree sprouts and tells you this). This would mean that the GCN game is set when he's still living at home, and before Ganondorf comes into the picture. Ganondorf would still be building his power as the King of Thieves, so he most likely won't play that big a role, if any, in the GCN game. And yes, Miyamoto has said that Link gets his green tunic in the GCN game, from his sister, I think. And no, there aren't any Zelda games (that are out now) where Link doesn't start with his green tunic. In all of them so far, he starts out with his green tunic and green pointy hat. This thread seems to be getting a bit off-topic, though. There's a thread for talking about the GCN Zelda game, I suggest we use that instead of this thread, which is about Majora's Mask.
6. First off, I'm closing this thread. Secondly, you will be getting a ban warning, PrettygurlRei. This type of thread is pure spam; it really does not have a point. Posting a thread just to say you hate something is spam. Also, I would like to remind people that replying to to a thread like this is also spam. Members don't need to tell someone that a post is spam, that is what Moderators are for. Thread Closed
7. Yes, that is just IGN.com's theory... Actually, I just read in the July issue of Nintendo Power, where they had an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto and Satoru Iwata, and Miyamoto said that the GCN Zelda game is the first in the timeline... Meaning that it's set before both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. This completely blew away a couple of my theories about when the game was set, but now that I know, I can start thinking of how the GCN game and Ocarina of Time are linked together! I've already sort of got an idea, but it needs some mulling over.
8. Yes, I know that they stop when you enter a building... I just wasn't sure whether they would start attacking you when you're already in a building... I tried it, though, and they will start attacking you while you're in a building in Majora's Mask. You can't seem to hit the ones that are inside, in Ocarina of Time, though.
9. The name is Twinmold, not twinvora. :) But yes, they're two giant sand worms, which are the boss of the Stone Tower Temple in Majora's Mask. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link: But, before that, lets eat. Karina: Is that why you left? Link: Yep! Link grins, and holds up a bag of donuts and other pastries. Link: You've got some good bakeries in this world! And with everyone gone, I didn't have to worry about the cost, heheh. Link sets the bag on a table, and the four of them start eating. When they're done, all that's left is a plain donut, that looks a little crusty. Karina: Oof, you think you got enough of them, Link? Happy: I think I ate too many... Link: Well, I didn't know what people liked... But I guess we like everything... Tyron: Hey, Link, you gonna eat that last one? Link: I dunno, are you? Happy: Ugh, you two ate more than both me and Karina, how could you possibly eat that last one? Link: I suppose we could split it... Link grins, and the Master Sword flashes out of it's sheath and Link neatly slices the donut it half. Karina: Woah... that was fast... Link continues grinning, and spears one half of the donut on the tip of the sword. He raises the tip of the sword up to his mouth, and he picks the donut half off of the tip with his teeth. Link: ...I ate my half... Tyron raises an eyebrow, then does the same with his sword. Karina: Are you trying to impress someone, or what? Happy: Shouldn't we be going soon? Link and Tyron look back over at Happy and Karina, like they had forgotten about them. Tyron: Oh, yes... Is everyone ready, then? Link: Looks like it... So lets go! The group starts to head out of town, to an open place where they can practice using the masks without trees or buildings getting in the way.
10. Well, I always assumed that Link and Navi got split up when Zelda sent Link back in time, after beating Ganon (at the end of OOT). It never actually says how Link and Navi got seperated, though.
11. Um... I know they stop when you go in a building, I'm just not sure if they'll start attacking you while you're in a building, in OOT and MM... I think I'll try it tomorrow (okay, I suppose it'll technically be today, lol, since it's about 2:45 AM), since I'm all curious now. :twitch: Yes, they do stop after awhile in A Link to the Past. Another fun thing is to grab one of the Cuccos out of the air, when they start to attack you. It's fun to see if you can grab one of the first ones that flies at you, and try and hold onto it for as long as you can (in other words, try not to get hit while holding onto the Cucco). Also, it's kind of funny if you do it in the Dark World, because then you'll get skeletal Cuccos swarming you, lol.
12. Link: Well, it's not like I'm saying you two will be totally useless when I'm fighting Ganon... You just won't be able to do as much as me, and probably Happy... He probably does have some cool masks that would help, though, even if they're not as powerful as the Fierce Deity's Mask. Tyron: It's good to know we won't just be watching, like last time... Link eyes the large notch in Tyron's sword. Link: I wouldn't say you just sat and watched last time... And I do think you did a little more to him than he made it look like... You did distract him for a bit, even if you didn't really hurt him. I'm sure you two will be useful. Happy: You know, I'm not exactly thrilled about these plans you seem to have... I sure don't want to fight Ganon, even if you're there... Link: Look, you're the only one here besides me that we know can safely wear the Fierce Deity's Mask. Happy: Why don't you wear it, then?! Link: Well, I wish I could, but I doubt I'd be able to use both the Triforce and the power of a dark warrior at the same time. They don't really go together, you know, seeing as how I'm using the Triforce for good... The Fierce Deity's Mask, really, is not good at all... It's power, however, can be harnessed and used for good. I seriously doubt I'd be able to use Triforce while using the dark power of that mask... And I also doubt that either the power of the Triforce or the Fierce Deity's Mask alone would be able to defeat Ganon, since he now possesses Majora's Mask... That's why I need you to use the Fierce Deity's Mask, while I use the Triforce. If we both fight Ganon at the same time, with Tyron and Karina helping out any way they can, we just might be able to pull this off. Karina: You did weaken him in your last battle. That's got to help some. Tyron: Yeah, he couldn't even stand up at the end there, just before he teleported away. He's got to still be recovering. Link: Well then, we can do it! Never give up hope, or else there really won't be any hope. Link stands up and grins at the others, before heading for the hotel room door.
13. *runs after Cera with a Super NES and a copy of Zelda: A Link to the Past* Come back! You must learn! Resistance in futile! :demon: ...Ahem... now that that's out of the way... I think people are just saying they want to be me because I mentioned that no one had said they wanted to be me before I posted... *sniff* ...I'm depressed... *cries, as he beats the living... um... "heck" out of three level 9 CPU players in SSBM* Although, there are some downsides to being me... I have absolutely no social life, I don't like soda (yes, none, not a single kind), I can't stand the smell of alcohol (meaning drinking it out), I hate cigarette smoke (smoking is out), and I don't want to get any tattoos or piercings... Oh, and did I say that I have absolutely no social life? And the list goes on... So, all in all, I'm actually a pretty dang boring person. :twitch:
14. Cheat codes, for FFVII? You mean, like, using a GameShark? Or do you mean the infinite item trick? Well, I did use the infinite item trick to get 99 Megalixers, but I didn't actually end up needing more than I originally had... On my second time through, though, I'm not using it (there really isn't any point to duplicating items that I'm never going to run out of even without the trick, lol).
15. Well, the SNES CD add-on probably would have used the EXT. port on the bottom of the SNES. It's also used for the SNES modem over in Japan (it was never released outside of Japan), though. It wasn't too popular, so that's probably why they didn't release it anywhere else... Kind of like the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive.
16. Well, Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy III for the SNES would make good additions to your collection. Chrono Trigger would also be good, if you can find it (and afford it, lol, I've seen the SNES carts going for up to $100 in the US). Soul Blazer is more of a Zelda type game, but it's also good (and I also see that you're including the Zelda games, though). I've also heard that Final Fantasy Adventure for the Game Boy is good. It's kind of a mix between Zelda and Final Fantasy. It has real time combat, like in Zelda, but you gain experience and stuff like that, like in Final Fantasy. Then there's also Final Fantasy Legend III, also for the Game Boy. If you liked the first two, you'll probably like the third one. For the NES, you could try Dragon Warrior IV. I've heard the first three can get boring, from having to level up a lot, but I've heard the fourth one is pretty good. I dunno, though, you might try the first three; they did okay over here in the US, so they can't be all that bad. That's about all I can think of, hope this helps some. You've already got a lot of the good RPGs for the SNES, though, and I don't know of too many on the GB/GBA or the NES.
17. Yeesh... this is the third thread you've posted on this subject... Why don't you go back and read them, instead of making a new one? (The thread that CWB linked to is the second one you posted). Thread Closed
18. Yes, Link is looking for Navi in the Lost Woods when he meets the Skull Kid. The fairy sound you here probably comes from Tatl or Tael, though, since Navi isn't actually in the game.
19. Island in the middle of the map? Um, do you mean in the Sea of Storms? The place where you meet the Pirates, only in the present? If that's what you mean, you can't get to one of the screens in the present, unless you're playing a linked game. If you are playing a linked game, there'll be a Zora that'll let you into the ring of whirlpools, and you'll be able to get into that cave down at the bottom of the ocean (it contains a magic ring).
20. *sniff* ...Doesn't anyone want to be me? The insane psycho-Super Mod that knows pretty much all there is to know about the Zelda series? ...Okay, I'm starting to see why nobody chose me... :whoops: Okay, if I was going to be another guy, I think it'd be... ShadowGohan... He seems just as insane and screwed up as me, so I think it'd be fun. For a girl... *imagines himself as a girl* AAAAAEEEEEEEEEIIIIIIII!!!!! *runs screaming into the night*
21. As the group prepares to sleep, Link suddenly looks up at Happy. Link: Happy, you have the Fierce Deity's Mask, don't you?! Happy: Yeah? Link: I used that Mask to help defeat Majora's Mask, back in Termina! If one of you wore that, then you'd probably be able to help me fight Ganon! Suddenly, Link frowns. Karina: What's wrong? Sounded like you had a plan... Link: Well, it's just that the Fierce Deity's Mask is kind of like Majora's Mask, but not quite as powerful... It, too, holds the spirit of a dark warrior... I was able to harness it's power to help me defeat Majora's Mask, but it takes a lot of strength and will. Happy: No sweat! I can wear it! That's how I escaped from those guys that hauled me off! Link stares at Happy, shocked. Link: ...I thought I told you to treat that mask like Majora's Mask...... Oh, no, don't tell me... You've worn Majora's Mask? Happy: Yes, it's funny, they're no problem at all... I guess I just have a way with masks. Link breathes a sigh of relief, and falls over onto his back, landing on his bed in the hotel room. Link: Well, in that case, you're going to help me fight Ganon! Happy opens his mouth to protest, but Link cuts him off before he can say a thing. Link: But! ...we'll leave that discussion for tomorrow... I'm tired, and I need sleep. Tyron: Right, I'll take first watch then. Link: Okay, wake me up in an hour and I'll take second. Link yawns, pulls the covers up over himself, and falls asleep almost instantly. It has, afterall, been a very hard couple of days for him.
22. From what I understand about the Metroid series, Samus wasn't given the suit, she found it. The Chozo advanced so far, technologically, that they decided to withdraw and just observe the other races, and they left behind cool stuff like the power armor that Samus wears. (This would explain why the Chozo statues are almost always holding an upgrade or something, and are on multiple planets, such as Zebes and SR388). And, if they left behind one suit, couldn't they leave behind another? We really don't know if Samus' suit is a one-of-a-kind thing, or if there are more. So, it is a possibility that it is another person with another suit. Personally, I really don't think they'd include a multi-player mode. You're right, Metroid is a single player game, and should stay that way, and I think the developers are of similar mind from what I've heard. Of course, that was about Metroid Prime, so I could be wrong... But yeah, how does she use her right hand to climb up ladders and stuff? You can tell she's using her right hand to hold onto the ceiling in that one scene, but if her gun is on that hand, she shouldn't be able to hold onto anything with that hand... Weird... *looks up the fact sheet about the game on www.nintendo.com* Duh, why didn't I think of this sooner!? Okay, you can view the fact sheet here. Okay, it says that it's one player, so no multi-player mode. It also says that it's Samus that gets attacked by X, on her way to SR388 (the Metroid homeworld) with an exploration team. So yes, that is Samus that you're playing as.
23. Okay, the current release date for the GCN Zelda game in the US is February 2003 (argh! I just knew it was going to be delayed!). So far as I know, Nintendo hasn't said anything about the release date in the UK, though. I frequently visit www.nintendo.com, and I know that they haven't given a date for a UK release on there, but you might try one of their global sites. Most likely, the UK release will be a month or two after the US release, since the UK seems to get games a few months after the US. So, I'd say that it might be released in May 2003 in the UK, or somewhere around there... It's just a guess, though...
24. The thing is, you only have to enter/exit a building to get them to stop... So, like I said, unless you just stand around and let them hit you, or if you do it with very little life, it's hard to die from them... I A Link to the Past, though, they won't do it if you hit a Cucco that's inside. You can wail on it as much as you want, but I guess the flock can't get to you when you're inside. In Oracle of Ages/Seasons, though, they'll still come even if you're inside. Not sure about the others, because I never bothered to try it inside. I don't think they'll do it in OOT and MM inside, though, but I'm not positive.
25. Okay, you know Tingle, right? The green guy that's just south-east of Lynna City, in the present? You get the Island Chart from him. You have to use Ricky to jump up the small cliffs to reach him, though. When you get to him, jump using the Roc's Feather and then pop the balloon thing, that he's using to float, with your sword.
