Well, I remember looking in Pokémon Stadium 2 at the power rating for both Surf and Hydro Pump, and I don't remember there being that big of a difference in power. When I get it back from my friend, I'll check again... Maybe I'm remembering wrong... :twitch:

Gaming Need a plan to destroy Sephiroth in FFVII
Desbreko replied to G/S/B Master's topic in Noosphere
I believe you mean Quadra Magic, not "quad materia" lol... :toothy: :twitch: :alcohol: But yeah, the Ultima Weapon does depend on Cloud's HP... That's why you have one party member devoted to healing, so he'll always have full HP... If you have 9999 HP, though, the Ultima Weapon is very deadly. -
Wait a minute... I was sure there was a fee to play PSO v2... I remember reading somewhere that people were mad, because they hadn't had to pay a fee for v1, but then they did for v2.

Umm... wait a minute... When you say Star Fox Adventures, you're talking about Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet, that's going to be released this fall, right? From what I've heard, Falco isn't going to be in it... I heard something about Falco leaving to persuing a solo career, or something like that... I'm thinking Nintendo has something up their sleave. Possibly a game with Falco as the main character? But yeah, Falco isn't a playable character in the original Super Smash Bros. Fox is, but not Falco. Well, I can't really say I'm looking forward to the new Star Fox game being developed by Namco... I played Star Fox 64, and I didn't like it all that much, except for the Vs. Mode... I dunno, it was fun for a bit, but it seemed to get old really fast. I can't see myself buying this game, although one of my friends probably will. (I have a friend who's a master at Star Fox 64. He picked up the controller after not playing it for over a year, and got a medal on Corneria on his first try).

Hmm... ah ha! I've got it! Okay, first push Rock 1 up, and then push Rock 2 down. Now pick up Rock 3 and throw it, getting it out of the way. Push Rock 4 left, and then Rock 5 up, and you should now be able to access the stairs.

Aries? Who's that? Lol... it's Aeris, not Aries. :) *waits... waits some more...... waits even more.........* Argh, I can't take it anymore! If Sephiroth isn't gonna reply, I will! :toothy: I also know FFVII well enough to tell you that no, you can't save Aeris, though... Not without using a GameShark or something like that, anyway... All the rumors of saving Aeris or bringing her back to life are completely false. Sephiroth will tell you the same thing...

Link stands up, and draws the Master Sword, and then takes the Mirror Shield off his back. He starts walking towards the door, when Tyron jumps up in front of Link. Tyron: Hey, I should go first... I'm supposed to be your bodyguard, afterall... Link rolls his eyes, and motions for Tyron to go first. Link: Fine, go ahead... Tyron steps out the door into the darkness, with Link behind him and Karina following with a lantern. They go around the side of the house, and see a man with his head stuck in a tree trunk. Link: Now that's gotta hurt... They hear muffled swearing coming from inside the tree... Link puts away his sword and shield, and he and Tyron grab the man's legs. They pull him from the tree, leaving him sitting on the ground, his back against the tree. The man looks up, dazed, at the three people standing over him. He's wearing a Bunny Hood, which is now crushed against his face. Link: ...Happy? Karina: ...I wouldn't think he'd be happy after that... Link: No, that's what he's called... Happy, the Happy Mask Salesman... What are you doing in this world? Happy regains his senses, and the four walk back inside and sit down. Happy tells his story about how he was exiled, and got sent to this world. Happy: I saw you run down that alley, so I put on my Bunny Hood and ran after you, happy to see another person from Hyrule. Just before I got to this house, though, I tripped and went flying through the windows... Link: Ouch... Well, it's good to see you again! It's nice to see a familiar face. Tyron: So, you know this guy, then? Link: Yeah, he's an old friend of mine. He had a Happy Mask Shop in Hyrule... You should've seen the look on that Gerudo's face, when I showed her the Gerudo Mask, heheh... Looked like she was ready to start a fight, and probably would have if I hadn't left. Happy: Heheh, yeah, back when you were just a lad... Those were the good ol' days, I guess... Link: Maybe for you, but I was off saving Hyrule at just ten years old... Link grins, thinking back to his first adventure, now at the beginning of yet another...

Gaming Need a plan to destroy Sephiroth in FFVII
Desbreko replied to G/S/B Master's topic in Noosphere
Yeah, I pretty much do what Flash does... I put Double-Cut (with 4x-Cut) and a mastered HP Plus Materia on all three of my characters, plus a Master Magic-All combo and Enemy Skill on one, and then I fill up the rest of the slots with Counter Attack Materia, and Counter-Deathblow combos. I have the party member with the Master Magic-All and Enemy Skill Materia set up Barrier, MBarrier, and Haste with the Enemy Skill Big Guard, and then Regen, while I use 4x-Cut with the other two party members. Jenova-SYNTHESIS and Bizzaro-Sephiroth go down pretty quickly like this, and then I use DeBarrier on Safer-Sephiroth to take down his Barrier and MBarrier. Then I just keep attacking with two of the party members, while the other heals pretty much constantly. All the while, counter attacks are going off left and right from each party member, so I can afford to have one member devoted entirely to healing if I have to. Of course, it takes a lot of leveling to get that many mastered Counter Attacks... But it's worth it, when you're doing 9999 damage with each attack... Heck, I couldn't do 9999 damage with one hit from KOTR, without using an MP Turbo Materia with it. I guess KOTR became obsolete, lol. -
No, you have to be able to get through somehow... That's the way you get to the keyhole, which opens the floodgate... I know exactly where you're at, but I can't remember the pattern of the blocks. If you could show me the pattern of blocks, I could probably help you.

Well, it really depends on your taste... Oracle of Ages has more puzzles, while Oracle of Seasons has more fighting... It doesn't matter which you play first, though. Both are great games, so it really just depends on whether you want more puzzles first or more fighting first.

Okay, Schratn9, your post was ignored because Link was already running away from the mob with Tyron, before you posted... So, Link couldn't just be running down that first alley because he'd already done that... *deletes posts* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Link: Relax, a noise that small isn't going to be that angry mob... They'd make a lot more noise... And thanks for letting us stay here, Karina. Karina: Why was an angry mob chasing you? Link: As far as I can tell, they think I'm some sort of alien... Link points to his pointy ears, sword, shield, tunic... Karina: So, uh, where did you come from? Link: You'll probably think I'm crazy, but I'm from another world... I'm thinking kind of a parallel universe... The land where I come from is called Hyrule. I suppose I am kind of an alien, but not like those people are thinking... I'm not looking to hurt anyone, I just want to get back home. Karina: How did you come to this world? Link: Well, one second I'm sitting on the ground, taking a break from walking to Kokiri Forest, and then everything goes white for a second and I'm here... I have no idea why I'm here, or what transported my here... You seem to be taking this pretty well, do you actually believe me?

I'd have to say Blaine was the easiest for me, in both Yellow and Gold... In Yellow I used my Blastoise through all but two of the other trainers in the gym, and then beat Blaine without even having to use a Potion. In Gold, I beat all of his Pokémon in one hit (except for one, when I used really weak attacks against it, just to see how much damage it'd do since he hadn't gotten an attack off the whole fight up to that point), using my Lapras and Graveler. The hardest gym leader in Gold (don't remember much from the gym fights in Yellow, been too long) had to have been Clair... Simply because none of my Pokémon had a single ice type attack... I ended up having to use a TM, to teach my Gyarados this weak ice attack (don't remember what it was called) in order to beat her. Now, if one of my Pokémon had known Ice Beam, then it would've been easy...

*looks at clock* Hmm... it's 2:53 AM right now, where I live... And I'm on here... I've been on here since around 10:00 PM... Oh, wait, no, I took a shower around 11:00 PM, and then got back on at around 12:00 AM... But I was also on earlier... *thinks* yesterday, I guess, also... (The time is now 2:55 AM). What do I do at night? Well, I'm on here quite a bit, I talk to people on AIM/MSN... I'll catch up on the latest video game news, game previews, that sort of thing... Sometimes I'll read, or play my GBA with my WormLight. Right now I'm reading Dragonquest by Anne McCaffrey, the second book in the Dragon Riders of Pern series. It's pretty good, I'm enjoying it a lot... Lets see, I work on my website sometimes. Actually, I need to find a new host for my website, too, since I can't seem to update it anymore... Sometimes I'll do searches for info on old games, like Zelda: A Link to the Past, or Final Fantasy II for the Super NES, or maybe I'll be looking for stuff that I can use on my website. Sometimes I'll make a banner or something, or an avatar, or some other image. Here's a couple smilies that I made: (the time is now 3:06 AM). Hmm... I've pretty much just been typing my thoughts, lol... If I keep going, who knows what horrors I'll unleash upon the board, heheh... Actually, I'm pretty tired. I had to get up early (early by my standards, anyway), and I'm gonna have to get up early... *thinks* today, too, lol... I think I'm gonna get off the board in a few minutes, and maybe read for a bit. Then I'll go to bed and get some sleep in the little time left between then and when I have to get up... *yawn* (The time is now 3:09 AM).

Link slowly follows Tyron in the shadows, careful not to make a sound. He hides in some bushes, and sees the crowd start to advance on Tyron, murder in their eyes. Link pulls out a Bomb, and lights the fuse, waiting for the right time... Suddenly he leaps out of the bushes, and throws the Bomb between the crowd and Tyron. The Bomb explodes in great fiery blast, making the crowd jump back. In the confusion, Link and Tyron run into the woods before the smoke clears. Tyron: I told you to stay there! Link: I'm not helpless, I can take care of myself. I am the Hero of Time, you know! Tyron: It's dangerous for people like us! You've got to be careful! Link: And just how were you planning on dealing with that mob? Tyron: Look, lets just keep going... We can camp out in the woods tonight... It shouldn't be too hard to find a little clearing or something. The two continue farther into the woods, walking now, the light growing ever dimmer. Link: I never did catch your name. Tyron: It's Tyron... Hey, what's that? Tyron points to a small light off in the distance, just barely visible in between the trees. The pair starts walking towards it, curious...

I've also heard that there's going to be a GameCube game called Pichu Bros. (it's still a tentative title, though), which I've heard will be kind of a party game, like Mario Party... I have high hopes for the new GBA Pokémon game, but if they don't change the story, I can't see it being all that good... I mean, there's already six games for the GB that all have the same basic story, do we really need a seventh? (Or eighth, if they release two versions). But yeah, not much has changed since G/S...

Actually, I'd keep Surf on Feraligatr, in Crystal, instead of adding Hydro Pump... It's more acurate than Hydro Pump, and I think it's as powerful. It may be a little less powerful, buy it'll be worth it when Hydro Pump is missing and not doing any damage that round.

1. If you live out in the middle of nowhere, then your connection is probably just slow... It probably doesn't have anything to do with the modem... 56K is just the maximum speed that the modem can get. 2. I really don't know if you'll be able to use a US modem/broadband adapter with a Q... Possibly... 3. Yes, you'll be using the same ISP for both online gaming and getting on the net using your PC. You'll be paying the fee for your ISP, and for the online game... :(

Whee! Fire Temple! Also my favorite temple! Okay, when you first enter the temple, you'll want to go through the left door, at the top of the stairs. Inside you'll find Darunia, who goes into the boss chamber to try and defeat Volvagia (the boss). After you finish talking, jump across the platforms to the left, over to the Goron that's trapped in a cell. Step on the nearby floor switch to free the Goron, and he'll give you a hint. Inside the cell is a chest that contains a Small Key. Most, if not all, of the Small Keys that you'll get in the Fire Temple, you'll get by freeing Gorons. There are nine Gorons in the Fire Temple, and eight of their cells contain Small Keys. The other's cell contain a chest with the Boss Key in it. Edit: Right, I deleted all of that spam... And yugi, stop spamming... I'd also like to remind people that this a help thread, to be used for asking and answering questions about Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Do not post in this thread unless you're helping someone, or asking for help yourself.

Everything goes white for a second, and then Link is again sitting on the ground... But the ground is hard and rough, not like the earth of Hyrule Field... He looks around, seeing buildings and cars and lights. He looks at the ground around him, and sees that his weapons are still there. He gathers them up, and stands up again. He is standing on a sidewalk, along a decently busy street. Link, thinking: Where is this place? He looks around again, and sees another person walking down the sidewalk towards him. As the person walks by, he looks over at Link and stops. He looks Link up and down, staring at the tunic, the sword and shield, and the pointy ears. Link is just as shocked, and stares back. Person: What the heck are you? Link: ...I'm... a Hylian... My name is Link... The person slowly backs away, and then continues walking, at a faster pace than before. Link, thinking: ...I think I'd better get to somewhere where there aren't as many people... Link darts down the nearby alley, still wondering where he is, and why he's here...

Drake: So, do you know him, then? Flash: Well... I guess you could say that... Drake, not overly curious about the matter, decides to change the subject. Afterall, who wants to talk about a horny baron anyway? Drake: Yeah, I guess going to Glorethroth would be a good idea... Drake's voice seems sad, almost reluctant to the thought of going to Glorethroth. Flash: ...Something wrong? Drake: ...I guess you could say I've had some bad experiences there... Glorethroth is my hometown. No, not my howntown. I never really had a home... An awkward silence follows, for a couple minutes as they continue down the path... Finally, Drake breaks the silence. Drake: If you can't tell, I'm not really used to company... Talking isn't one of the things I'm good at, I guess... Another awkward silence, for another couple minutes. Flash: Maybe you just need some practice... No time like the present... So why'd you become a white mage? Drake: I don't like seeing people suffer... I don't want people to have to go through what I've been through... Flash: Oooookay... that wasn't the right question to ask, I guess. Drake looks over at Flash and grins. Drake: Yeah, I guess not. You really blew it, didn't you? Flash grins back. Flash: At least I didn't ask about your ponytail. Drake: Hey, you wanna see a neat trick I can do with it? Drake lowers his hood and casts Float on his ponytail, making it stand straight up in the air. Flash: That's really cool! I bet you could freak people out with that! Drake: I have, heheh... You should see the looks I've gotten. I'm just walking down the streets in a town, with my ponytail floating up in the air, getting all sorts of looks from people. It's hilarious. They continue walking down the path, not far from Krysst now, the path ascending over the hills.

Yep, I've heard of that episode. I even have the clip of the flashing red/blue on my PC. (It's slowed down, though, so it's not quick enough to induce a seizure). Pokémon actually got taken off the air for a few weeks because of that episode. And the reason it wasn't aired anywhere else is because they didn't want more people to have seizures... So I really doubt it'll ever be aired in the US or anywhere else...

There are 120 Power Stars in Super Mario 64. :) And yes, some can be very difficult to get. The 100 Coin Star in Tick Tock Clock was one of the hardest for me. I agree, though, games shouldn't be dubbed "kiddie" games based on how they look. Donkey Kong 64 is a good example. I borrowed it from my friend for awhile, and the later levels got to be pretty dang hard, not to mention a few of the bosses. And it also makes you think, for the puzzles. And yes, Pikmin is also a good example. Another friend of mine owns it, and it's not a really easy game. It really makes you think to solve the puzzles. That, and multi-tasking with all your Pikmin takes some thought, too. It definitely isn't a game for little kids.

I remember quite a bit in Level 6: Mermaid's Cave... Just not much in Level 7: Jabu-Jabu's Belly... Okay, in the room with that big row of cracked blocks, it's not the the blocks you should be looking at. If you look at the map, it shows that there's a doorway from that room, to the room north... Hmm, there seems to be no doorway, though... Tap the northern wall (you'll have to blow a path through the line of blocks first) with your sword, and you'll find a weak spot towards the eastern end of the wall. There isn't a crack, or at least I didn't see one, but that spot will make a different noise when you tap it with your sword. Place a Bomb next to that spot, and it'll blow a hole in the wall. As for those torches, yes, you need to use the Seed Shooter and Ember Seeds to light them. I'm pretty sure you light the left one first, then the front one, then the back one, then the right one... Not entirely sure, but I know you light the left one first... And to light the back one, stand a little to the left of the center torches, back around halfway between the wall and the water, on dry ground. Aim your Seed Shooter diagonally up and to the right, and the seed should bounce off the wall and into the back torch.

First off, Emerald WEAPON doesn't have a head when you fight it... Secondly, in the CG scene just after it gets it's head blown off, it looks pretty much exactly the same as it does when you fight it... It has the two big wing-like things coming off to the side, and that kind of hole in the front where it's head was. It just looks the same... That's my reasoning...
