1. Hmm... I've heard about PSO: Episode I & II some, but not much... Actually, I haven't heard much about any of the PSO games. I'm pretty sure I heard that the US release of the game was going to be in Fall, along with the 56K Modem and Broadband Adapter. I'm very excited to see how the GCN fares in the online market, and from the sound of it it's going to do decently. I wonder if PSO: Episode I & II will actually do better than FFXI?
2. Yeah, FFIX's magic system is actually my favorite out of any of the FF games I've played. (haven't played FFV or FFX, though, which I've heard are good). Second to FFIX's, I like the Magicite magic system in FFVI.
3. My main objection to FFVIII is how you have to Draw magic out of enemies... The Junction system is fine, from what I've seen, but the reason I never really played FFVIII is because I watched my brother play it and he'd have to sit around Drawing magic out for sooooo long in order to get a decent amount of spells. Other than that, it looks like a pretty good game to me, but I just don't want to have to sit around for a long time building up a stockpile of spells. That, and I didn't like how magic is pretty much just like items, except that you can't buy spells. I like the magic point system, it works really well.
4. Man with the bulldozer? I've never heard of a man with a bulldozer before... Either that or I'm just not remembering it, but I think I'd remember something like that... And you can't get the characters to level 100, level 99 is the max. :toothy: Edit: Oh, okay... the Bulldozer guy is that person in the hidden cave, just before the bridge leading to North Corel... Okay, yeah, found him, and the ten Phoenix Downs in the same area.
5. I'm betting he doesn't have the Earth Harp and Desert Rose... Why? Because you can trade them for a Gold Chocobo and a set of all three Master Materia! Who's going to keep those two useless items, when they can have Master Materia and a Gold Chocobo?! No one! ...Oh... um... that was a rant, wasn't it? ...um, Moving right along... Have you gotten all of the 1/35 Soldier items? Actually, I've never seen anyone get all 12... If there are actually 12 in the game, anyway... It says there's 12...
6. Just like in Seasons, you also have to go through a trading sequence in Ages, too. Actually, you're far enough in the game that you can complete the trading sequence. I think that you only need to have beaten Level 4, but I'm not sure. I know that you can after beating Level 5, though, because that's when I completed it. But anyway, you start out by getting the Poe Clock from the ghost in Yoll Graveyard, in the present. After you get the Power Bracelet in Level 1: Spirit's Grave, you can lift the rock that's blocking the way to it. It's around the middle of the Graveyard, and you'll see a lone tombstone blocked off, except for one rock that you can lift with the Power Bracelet. If you need more help with the trading sequence, just ask. :)
7. No, you can't get another Pikachu in Yellow. I own Yellow, and trust me, I've looked everywhere... That, and I was given the players guide (after I beat it), and it says that you can't get Pikachu in Yellow, except for the one you get from Prof. Oak. You can trade other Pikachu to Yellow, though... Oh, and if you want to evolve the Pikachu you get from Prof. Oak, you have to trade it to another game, evolve it, and then trade it back. If you do, it won't follow you around anymore, though. And you can catch Growlithe in the Pokémon Mansion on Cinnabar Island. I'm not sure if you can get them anywhere else... *goes and checks previously mentioned players guide* ...Nope, you can only get them in the Pokémon Mansion, in Yellow anyway.
8. What if you don't have a bunch of Megalixers? Sure, it's easy to beat them if you use the item duplication trick... You just use a Megalixer once per round, and the only thing you have to worry about is Emerald using Aire-Tam Storm, if you have a bunch of Materia equiped... I'm not sure how many there are normally in the game, but I only have around five, and all I have left to do is go down into the crater (I started my game over). There might be a few more down there, but not that many...
9. Well, none of those on the page you linked to worked for me... But I went and watched the newest trailer on GameSpot, and it's looking as cool as ever! And yes, FFXI is completely online. There isn't going to be an offline mode. There isn't even an offline tutorial in the Japanese version, I heard.
10. I'm pretty sure the only way to get a Boomerang is to do the dancing, but I'm not positive... There might be another way to get it, but if there is, I don't know about it...
11.
Originally posted by Crazy White Boy You know, similar to Goldeneye and what it did for first person shooters.
I'm assuming you mean console first person shooters... Goldeneye isn't anything special compared to PC first person shooters, even back then... But that's exactly what I'm saying, though! If they don't change anything, I most likely won't buy it. They'll have to add a lot to the multi-player modes to get me to buy it without a rental first. If they don't change it much, I most likely wouldn't be worth buying. Maybe a rental or two, but I wouldn't buy it if it's not much different.
12. You do the stuff in the desert with the pirates after beating Level 6: Ancient Ruins. You're just before or at Level 4: Dancing Dragon Dungeon right now, though, aren't you? It'll be a bit before you'll do the stuff with the Pirates...
13. The first Zelda game was just called The Legend of Zelda. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is the Zelda game on the Super NES, which is set before The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (the second Zelda game, also on the NES). If you want to know all about the Zelda timeline, and some of the different theories about what order the games are in, just PM me. I'm always happy to talk about the Zelda story. :)
14. The Secrets are passwords that kind of link (no pun intended, LOL) the two games together. When you beat one game, you get a password. If you start a new game on the other Oracle game, and put in the password, you'll be playing a linked game. On the linked game, you'll get passwords throughout the game from various people. If you take the passwords to the right people in the first game, you can get upgrades and stuff.
15. *a hush falls on area, as the great Zelda Lore Master focuses his attention on the small RPG sign-up* ...heheh... :twitch: :toothy: Yes, you really should have a plot, though... Sometimes it works to develop one in the actual RPG, but it can be hard... I suggest thinking of a plot first, and then posting it up in the sign-up thread. And yes, James' Zelda RPG would be a good example to follow. I suggest you read the rules thread at the top of this forum, and then think of a plot for this RPG. If it's a decent plot, I might even join... Zelda lesson for the day: You spelled Hyrulian right, but you used the wrong term. A Hyrulian is anyone that lives in the land of Hyrule, regardless of the person's race. Someone that is Hylian is of the race of Hylians, like Link and Zelda for example. In other words, someone/something in Hyrule is Hyrulian, and the race of people to which Link and Zelda belong to are Hylians.
16. Yes, I know Heidegger isn't on the deck of the Highwind in that CG movie... I actually got to watch it about a week ago, when I got to that point in the game (I'm replaying it, and all I have left to do plot-wise is go and beat it). I'm saying that they should change the CG movie, so that he's on the deck and he gets eaten. And yeah, it would change the story a bit, but it could easily be adapted. He doesn't actually do much after that anyway, besides talk.
17. *thinks of a cel-shaded Mario Kart* ...Dang, that sounds really cool! Especially for the battle mode, if they had a cartoony look. Cel-shading looks, to me, kind of like 3D sprites, so I usually always like the cel-shaded look. I could go either way, though, since Mario Kart 64 looked pretty good in my oppinion. I think it would work either way, and I'd like either way... I kind of have to agree with CWB, but not to that extent... If they add more Battle Mode features and maybe some new items and arenas, I think I'd buy it just for that. For me, Mario Kart 64 was mainly a party game that I'd rarely play by myself, except when I first got it. Super Mario Kart and Super Circuit, however, I play mainly for the 1-player game. The Battle Mode on those two wasn't exceptional, though I did play it a lot on Super Mario Kart (it was the first of it's kind, so there weren't any alternatives). Unless they change the 1-player game a lot, I'm probably just going to buy it for the multi-player modes. I'm perfectly happy with Super Circuit, if I want to play 1-player Mario Kart.
18.
Originally posted by SuperSayian I'm not sure... I've used Drake as well for a while... And besides... Blight's father is dead... Also, the whole "Drake and Drake" thing could devolop into a small yet stable sub-plot. If you reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaally are unconfortible about it, I'll change it around... But just let it be known that I also use Drake as a character name ever since the days of Appoc v2...
Oh... I didn't know that... I suppose it's okay, I just thought it might confuse some people if my character is also named Drake... I suppose I'm playing an elf, though, so there most likely wouldn't be any relation to your character... I don't really care all that much, I just thought it might be a bit confusing... I suppose it could develop into a little sub-plot, so go ahead and leave it, I guess. I've never seen any of your characters named Drake before, though... I guess it's probably because I'm not in many RPGs... Drake A. Desbreko is my full screen name, but I usually go by Desbreko for usernames. Drake Desbreko is a but long for a username, I think... But anyway, I'll stop babbling now. :twitch:
19. I WILL HAVE MY PURPLE HEM! Name: Drake Desbreko Age: 23 Height: 5'4" Race: Wood Elf Class: White Mage Weapons: Mithril Quarter Staff (like the one Aeris starts out with in FFVII, only Mithril), and a long Mithril Dagger Armor/Clothes: Drake wears a white, hooded robe, as with most white mages, which has purple runes around the hem, cuffs, and the edge of the hood (see attachment for runes). Underneath the robe, he wears a light, brown leather tunic, and dark brown leather pants. He has sturdy leather boots on his feet, which are also a dark brown to match his pants. Description: Drake has long, light brown hair that goes down past his shoulders, which he sometimes wears it in a ponytail, but usually lets it hang free when he has his hood down. He has dark green eyes, which go very well with the purple runes on his robe. He isn't very tall for an elf, and is often overlooked, but Drake likes this, however, since he doesn't like to draw attention to himself. He's reletively quick and nimble, which helps him avoid fighting. Drake hates death, which is why he became a white mage, and quickly learned the Cure and Life spells, and then others as his skill grew. He's very pessimistic, and sometimes gets depressed, though he tries his best to help people with his curative white magic. He did, afterall, become a white mage to heal and help others. Bio/History: Though he grew up in Glorethroth, he didn't have a home. He has no memoey of his parents, and has been an orphan all his life. He was often sad as a child, struggling to survive in the world, and hasn't changed much now that he has grown up. When he was old enough he started training as a white mage, determined not to let others suffer the same as he had. He now travels the world helping any that he finds in need, and is currently camping near Outpost 31. Dang it Flash, you never edited it! Paladins use low level white magic, not black! Dark Knights use low level black magic! *jumps up and down angrily, swearing under his breath* Oh, and SuperSayian... My character's name is Drake, and has been in all the RPGs that I've ever been in... Could you maybe change the name in your character's history, so as not to be confusing?
20. Umm, I never said anything about the graphics being blocky or the Control Stick not being good... I mentioned the power sliding being done differently in Mario Kart 64 than the original and Super Circuit... That has nothing to do with graphics or the Control Stick on the N64. I'd say I liked the original Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64 about the same, just because of the better Battle Mode in Mario Kart 64... 3D levels and 4-player battles are just too dang fun! Overall, though, I like Super Circuit for the GBA best. It plays like the original, has the originals tracks (stripped of a few things, though), and also has 20 new tracks! I absolutely love the new Rainbow Road track in Super Circuit! I've actually beaten the game testers' time on it! And that's making four minor mistakes in the course of the race, too! (I have to give some credit to one of my friends, though, because he adapted my short-cut route, and I'm now using the adapted route). But anyway, the thing I'd want to see in the GCN Mario Kart, besides online play, would be more Battle Mode courses. Then a couple more characters, or maybe let multiple people be the same character, just colored differently, like in Super Smash Bros. and SSB Melee. I think they'd have to do that, if there's going to be online play. Otherwise, people would get upset because they couldn't use the character that they're good on, because someone else already chose that character.
21. Tips? Hmm... keep your distance and keep moving would robably be the best tip I could give without telling you flat out how to beat it... Only move into attack with your sword when it's stunned.
22. Go to e3.nintendo.com, and click on the link to the GCN Zelda game. There'll be screen shots and the trailer from E3 available for download.
23. Well, I've never heard that poem before... I don't think it was anything to do with Zelda, though it kind of sounds like it... Unless it's a poem a fan wrote. It kind of sounds like it's talking about the Seven Sages, but it says "Six shall turn it back." Really, it was eight people that sealed Ganon in the Sacred Realm, though, since there's the Seven Sages plus Link...
24. Yeah, I thought that they did... But my point was that they're just doing the same sort of thing with FFX International. Only this time, it's the Japanese that are getting the extras... Of course, they'll have to buy another copy of practically the same game... But anyway, FFX International is not a sequel to FFX, just to clear that up.
25. The Emerald WEAPON (the one in the ocean), and the Ruby WEAPON (the one in the desert). I think the UK and Australian versions also have these included, but I'm not sure. I know the Japanese version doesn't have them, though.
