Do not underestimate the power of Jigglypuff... In either SSB or SSB Melee... I'm betting you just haven't played on it long enough to learn how to use it effectively. In the original SSB, my brother could kick my butt on Jigglypuff... In SSB Melee, he can't kick my butt, but I think that's more because I've played way more than he has. He still puts up a dang good fight, even if I have played about four times as long as he has. Jigglypuff is by no means a crappy character, you just have to learn how to use it. And about Wobbufet being weak... just look at Goldeen, the "dud" Pokémon... And besides, there are already a lot more really good Pokémon, that you can get in the PokéBalls, in SSBM than in SSB. Heck, you can get all five of the Legendary Birds, plus all three of the Legendary Dogs... That's eight really good Pokémon that you can get, plus others that are pretty good too. They had to put in some that aren't as good to even it out. Wobbufet just happens to be one of them.

FFX International isn't a sequel to FFX, it just has some stuff added to the original game. Kind of like they did with the US version of FFVII, where they added two other WEAPONs.

This thread isn't about how good the Xbox is doing... Lets try and keep this on-topic, okay? ...And I really don't want this to turn into an Xbox Vs. GCN/PS2 argument...

Interesting... very interesting indeed... Well, from that it sounds like the game will be quite a bit different from the other three Mario Kart games. If even just screen shots would give stuff away, it's got to be a lot different! Well, I just hope the changes are for the better. I doubt they'll be for the worse, though, since the Mario Kart series just keeps getting more and more fun stuff in each game. I'm eagerly awaiting this game, as I'm a big fan of the Mario Kart series. Hopefully they'll do the power sliding the same as in the original and Super Circuit, where you can change the direction you're turning without having to let up on the button... That's one of the main things that I didn't like about Mario Kart 64... That, and making you slow down a bunch if you don't power slide. That sucked, because you couldn't pull off the same cool tricks as in the original, without slowing down... Such as stopping your power slide in the middle of a turn for a bit, so you're facing another racer, then smacking them with a Green Shell, and then resuming your power slide... I could do that almost every time in the original, but I could never pull it off in Mario Kart 64, and if you do you'll lose speed because you stopped power sliding for a bit while going around a turn... Which really sucks, because it'll also throw off your aim with the Green Shell...

Thank you for not posting a new thread! It seems that about 3/4 of the threads in the Zelda Forum are help threads, and it would be a lot easier if more people would post in old help threads if they have a question about the same game. But anyway, on to your problem... Yes, you should have the Power of Spring... You can get to the Tower of Spring, where you'll get the Power of Spring, by taking a stairway that's one screen to the south and one screen to the west of the Subrosian Market. The Warp Portal that will get you there is up in the mountains, in the north-east corner of Holodrum (one screen to both the south and west from the corner, to be exact).

Like Jabroni said, I really doubt this system will be released in the US or anywhere besides Japan and wherever it's being made. I don't think it's going to be able to seriously compete with Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft... They might grow in time, so that they might be able to compete... But I don't think their first console is going to be a threat to the GCN, PS2, and Xbox. If it survives, though, it could be interesting to watch.

I think that they just put it in for fun... I don't know if it actually has a purpose... But, this is kind of off-topic, since it isn't really helping anyone with Oracle of Seasons... If you want to talk about the Rings, you can make a new thread, though. Just make sure you actually have something to talk about. :)

You can't get either the Sun's Song or Din's Fire before you do this, I'm pretty sure... I'm not exactly sure if you can skip getting the Sun's Song or not... Okay, I'm pretty sure I know where you're getting stuck... It's the room with the green liquid, right? The one with the path that winds back and forth, with the green stuff down in the lower part of the room on either side of the path? If this is where you're stuck at, just run down the middle of the room through the green stuff. You'll take some damage, but the ReDeads probably won't be able to freeze you because they'll be too far away. And after you get the Sun's Song, which you'll get in the next room I'm pretty sure, you'll be able to freeze the ReDeads with it like BabyGirl said. Or, you could always just go and kill the ReDeads first, with your sword... Just keep your distance until you get behind them, then move in and start hacking away... Or, if you have some spare Deku Sticks, you could try lighting them on fire. :flaming:
Originally posted by Smoky Joe I also have a theory about the storylines. I believe that there have been 3 Links: 1- Appeared in the first 2 Zeldas. I belive he is a separate Link than theothers since his hair is brown (even in the concept art). 2-Link from LttP, Oracles, LA, and Zelda GC. If I were to connect the games, I'd say that ZGC was the first. After that, he travelled towards Hyrule and ended up having the Oracles. After that, he decided to stay living in Hyrule with his uncle. Later on he decided to return to his homeland, but he had a little problem in the sea. 3-Link from OOT and MM. I can't say much about him, except that he is in a quest for Navi. The reason I put him separated as a separate Link was because his world looks very different from the other Links'. Anyway, Miyamoto said in an interview (I think it's in the Pikmin guide) that everyone should have his/her own vision of the storylines.
I don't get the third part... Hyrule looks different in each Zelda game... The Hyrule in OOT is actually quite similar to the on in A Link to the Past, except things are moved around and a couple things have been added/removed. In the original, though, there's whole big parts missing, such as Kakariko Village. The reason they change Hyrule around in each game is to keep them fresh. If it was the same every time, you'd know where everything was in each new game before you'd even played it. For the second part, that's really stretching, I think... I've seen a lot of art for all of the games, and his hair color doesn't change that much. I even have a lot of the art for the games. True, Link's hair in the art for the first two games is a little darker, but not too much. I agree, though, that everyone having their own idea of the storyline is good. It means they're actually getting into the game, wanting to know more about the series. I highly enjoy coming up with theories to fill in the gaps in the storyline. Anyone that's really into the Zelda games probably does this. I'm not trying to shoot down your or anyone else's theories, though. I may not agree with them, but like you said, it's good for people to come up with their own theories. I'm trying to explain why I have the theories I do (why they're reasonable, for the most part), and help people learn more about the series itself at the same time. I don't know of anyone that knows as much about the Zelda games' storyline as I do, so I'd like to spread around the knowledge that I have. :)
Originally posted by HyperShadow actually gannon did appaer in link's awakening. he was one form of the nightmares.
Yes, Ganon did kind of appear in Link's Awakening... But it wasn't actually Ganon... It was just the nightmare taking on the shape and characteristics of something from Link's memory; this is a nightmare, after all. If you'll notice, most of the forms are of something that Link had already fought. There's the Giant Gel, the boss of Level 3: Key Cavern; Agahnim, from Zelda: A Link to the Past; Moldorm, the boss of Level 1: Tail Cave; Lanmola, also from A Link to the Past... It was all the same nightmare, just in different forms. It was taking some especially nasty things from Link's memory, and imitating them. On a side note, you've actually brought to mind another reason why I think Link's Awakening is set after A Link to the Past... What is it? The Ganon form of the nightmare! If the nightmare is taking things from Link's memory, then that means Link has already fought Ganon. And the Ganon that the nightmare imitates is the Ganon from A Link to the Past! If you've fought both Ganon in A Link to the Past and the Ganon form of the nightmare in Link's Awakening, it's very obvious it's imitating the Ganon from A Link to the Past and not one of the other times Link fights Ganon. thank you for bringing that to mind! I always enjoy building upon my theories, and that just helped me add a little bit. :)

Well, kind of... But you can also breed those in G/S/C, so they're still not the same... I consider "Legendary Pokémon" to be Pokémon that you only get one of per game and can't breed. Also, you see the Legendary Pokémon outside of battle, at some point or other. Like Zapdos and the other Legendary Birds, you have to walk up to them on the overworld or wherever they are to fight them.
Originally posted by Paul If you use Arcainine and you don't like using Legendary Pokemon then why are you useing Arcainine? he is classed as an legendary Pokemon ( in his pokedex entry)
Yes, it says that in the Pokédex, but it's not the same. The reason it's not the same is because you can get more than one per game. With the other Legendary Pokémon, you can only get one of them each time you play through the game. Also, Arcanine isn't super-strong.

You mean when you get it in a PokéBall, right? It can do quite a bit of damage, actually. If you hit it, it rocks back and forth and anyone that touches it will take damage. It's great if you can trap someone against a wall or something, and stand back and use a projectile move on it so it keeps hitting the other player(s). It can be quite useful, sometimes.

Yes, I did. I didn't have any other games that I hadn't already played to death, so I played Pokémon Yellow to death, LOL. And I just like doing everything and getting everything in all the games I play, anyway. I like to get the most out of my games, because I don't have the money for a bunch of them.
Originally posted by Nerdsy The reason most people don't use it is for that very reason: because it's so powerful and versatile. Since it far outclasses every other Pokèmon, it's considered very cheap to use. And when you think about it, if somebody decides to take a completely original team, full of many different types of Pokèmon, trains them to their peak, takes weeks to experiment with different movesets, and suddenly, some guy takes a Mewtwo and wipes out 3/4th's of that team with out a sweat... That is just unsportsman-like.
I couldn't have said it better... That's exactly why I don't use Mewtwo in my team anymore. And besides, you can beat a team that has a Mewtwo in it without using Mewtwo yourself. You just have to be good and have an "anti-Mewtwo" Pokémon. My friend has or had a Pokémon that was pretty good at taking down a Mewtwo, and it wasn't even a Dark type (this was before Gold and Silver were released).
Originally posted by Sephiroth lol, thats what the magazine is called, official nintendo magazine....
Oh... well, if you had used capital letters in the name, I would have known it was a name... But otherwise, how was I supposed to know? CAPITALS ARE GOOD :toothy: Hmm... looks like I'm going to be upgading my PC, so I'll be able to play FFXI... Lets see, I'll probably be buying a new CPU, more RAM, new video card, new sound card... dang, this is gonna be expensive... But, I suppose my computer really will be needing an upgrade by the time FFXI is released. I'm all over that broadband internet connection, though :)

Heyyyyy! I just got an idea! Maybe this game is set just before A Link to the Past? If Link actually does travel some 100 years or so into the future while in Termina (during Majora's Mask), then maybe he comes back to Hyrule and lives with his uncle and sister. Of course, they couldn't actually be his uncle and sister, because he's in the future and any family from during Ocarina of Time would be dead... Maybe his "uncle" in A Link to the Past is actually descended from Link's uncle back 100 years ago, and he just never found out about any family until then, in the future. His "uncle" has a daughter (Link's "sister" in this game). He could've just been kind of adopted into the family, since he'd still only be about 10 years old. He grew up around them, so he would've been calling them his uncle and sister because he was adopted. Okay, that explains the part about Link having a sister, and about him being able to have an uncle if he was gone for 100 years while in Termina... But, it doesn't explain why Link and his sister are off on some tiny island... I'm guessing myabe a few years have passed, and Link is about 15, 16, and they went off to celebrate his birthday (didn't it say it was set when Link got his tunic for his birthday?). Okay, that makes another problem, though... Link already has a green tunic in Ocarina of Time, which would be earlier than this game... Hmm...... Okay, I've got an idea... You know how in Ocarina of Time, when Link is young, he just has the tunic on? Well, in A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, he has a brown shirt on under the green tunic, and the tunic itself looks different (see attachment). Maybe this is a different tunic than the one he wore in Ocarina of Time? If a few years had passed since he got back from Termina, then his old Kokiri Tunic would be too small and worn out, so he wouldn't have one anymore. His sister gives him a new one, the one you see him wearing in the art for A Link to the Past and other games' art... Well, it's a long shot, but I've managed to fill in all the known gaps... So it is possible, at least if there's not any other information about the story that would make this impossible... But as it is, this would explain everything. Like I said, though, it's a long shot, because those are some pretty big gaps and a lot of guessing.

Sorry I didn't answer right away, I've been kind of busy... First off, you give the Lava Juice to the Goron that claims to know the Graceful Goron (the Goron that runs the Goron Dance). I think you can find him in the past, near the Shooting Gallery... As for Level 6, Mermaid's Cave, I'm not exactly sure what you're having trouble with... If you just want to know where the entrances to the dungeon are in both the past and present, that's easy... In the present, it's in a cave just below Rolling Ridge, in the east. In the past, it's behind a waterfall, on the same screen as in the present. Oh, and Biggoron is in Oracle of Seasons, not Oracle of Ages.
-
Well, I'd already seen a shot of Selphie... so this isn't much of a surprise... But I think it's a cool idea. I wonder if they're going to have much of a role in the game? It'd be fun to watch Cloud kick some butt, instead of kicking but as Cloud, LOL.

"official nintendo magazine" doesn't tell me much... What is the name of the magazine? Is it Nintendo Power? If so, it has to be the June issue, because I have the May issue and it doesn't have any screen shots of FFX for the GCN in it... I didn't think the June issue was out already, though.
-
You can definitely see the family resemblance... I think it's mainly the hair color, LOL... Cute enough, I suppose, but I still like Malon more... *drools over picture of Malon* But, um, moving right along... I'm guessing those shots are from the opening movie in the game, where you see Link's sister (never heard the name before) get kidnapped. It looks like they're in a boat, so maybe that part in the trailer where Link is in that boat is when you first start the game? Probably chasing after whoever/whatever kidnapped his sister... I'm thinking this probably isn't too far off, because the only other likely time there'd be in the game with them both together like that, out and about, would be the ending move; and they probably wouldn't show you part of the ending movie in some screen shots. And, since they're on boat, that might mean they're traveling away from Hyrule... Which means this game could be set away from Hyrule and the Triforce, so Ganon probably wouldn't be involved, then... Hmm... that sounds like I'm trying to say Ganon won't be in the game... Actually, that's not what I'm trying to say, I'm just pondering about the storyline and what it could be like. Pretty much just posting up my thoughts about the game, my predictions... Every time I see a new screen shot/movie that has any information that could possibly relate in any way to the storyline at all, I start guessing about what that tiny bit of information could mean... So, um, I guess I've rambled on enough...

If you're using eBay, you have to pay first, then they ship the item to you... But like I said, just use a money order... There's absolutely no way that they can get your credit card number if you use a money order.
Originally posted by Nerdsy If you had waited and raised your Pokè's by training, you would have stood more than just a chance against them. You would have had the higher stats, and then you'd have the advantage.
I would have done that, except that by the time I would've been done raising my team they were tired of the game... So, it was either get totally trashed all the time and never have a chance to trash them with my normally raised team, or have fun battling them... So, um, yeah... I wanted to have fun. We actually got some pretty long battles going, and it was really hard to win.

Well, while I was actually playing though the game, I didn't use the Itemfinder much because I wanted to get on with the story. But after I beat the game, I went back and searched pretty much all of the overworld with it because I wanted to get everything.
