Well, from what I've heard, Square will be making a game that connects to a GBA version of the game using the GCN - GBA Link Cable. I haven't heard any official announcements about those games being Final Fantasy games or not, though. And where are you getting these screen shots of FFX on the GCN from? If it's from a gaming magazine, what's the name of the magazine?
-
Actually, Final Fantasy Chronicles, which has FFIV and Chrono Trigger on it, has been out for quite awhile in the US... It still probably wouldn't be released this year for the GBA, though, because they probably haven't started porting it yet (if they're ever going to). Square is probably mainly concentrating on the port of Final Fantasy Tactics for the GBA, right now.

If the wall jump is in Metroid Prime, I suppose it'd have to switch to a third person view for that, too... And when I said "Missile upgrades" I meant upgrades as to how many Missiles you can carry. You do get Super Missiles in Super Metroid, though, which are a stronger version of normal Missiles. And Power Bombs are bombs that hit everything on the screen in the same way that a normal Bomb does... only it hits everything on the screen, like I said... You also have to use Super Missiles and Power Bombs to open green and yellow doors, respectively, just like you have to use five Missiles to open a red door. And I don't doubt that there will be lots of exploration, I'm just hoping that there'll be as many or more secrets than the previous Metroid games to go along with all the exploration. And I don't mean just secret areas of a level, I mean hidden items, Energy Tanks, that sort of thing...

Yes, Ganon in the new GCN Zelda game would be cool... But they'd have to work him being in the game into the plot. Maybe the Triforce is back in the hands of Link and Zelda, and Ganon manages to break out of the Dark World (that Seal can't be all that strong, since he's already broken out a couple times, LOL) and kidnap Link's sister. This'll force Link to come after her, and Ganon hopes that he'll be able to get the Triforce back if he can defeat Link and get him out of his way... Just one of the many possibilities for the storyline, that I'm throwing out here... But my point is they'd have to fit Ganon in with the rest of the storyline of the game. It wouldn't work too well if he was just kind of there.

Okay, first off favorite threads aren't allowed anymore. A favorite thread is a thread asking what people's favorite whatever is; in this case, favorite Zelda game. Secondly, there have already been threads about what people would like to see in the next Zelda game. Try looking at previous pages of threads. Oh, and there's actually two Zelda games in development right now. One's for the GCN, the other is for the GBA. Thread Closed

The soldiers in the blue uniforms with the helmets are Shinra soldiers... Not members of SOLDIER... I believe Cloud says somewhere in the game that he didn't make it into SOLDIER, so he worked for Shinra instead. That, and when you fight the soldiers in the blue uniforms, and hit Select to look at their name, it doesn't say SOLDIER: 1st or whatever. There are three types of SOLDIER enemies that you fight; SOLDIER: 3rd, which you find in the Shinra Building, SOLDIER: 2nd, which you find in Junon, and SOLDIER: 1st which you find in Midgar. (When you're going through the Shinra Building, you can steal a Hardedge sword for Cloud from a SOLDIER: 3rd, which you wouldn't normally get for quite awhile. It's very nice, since it's quite a bit better than the Buster Sword).

Well I've known for awhile, that Yamauchi was going to retire... But finally they've chosen a new president of the company... I wonder if he'll continue to be involved with Nintendo at all, or if he'll go off and do something else entirely? Well, whatever he does, Nintendo will be in good hands with Iwata, anyway. Farewell, Hiroshi Yamauchi! Thank you for all the great games and systems developed by Nintendo... Without you, gaming wouldn't be the same... *the Super Mario Bros. music starts to play softly in the background* ...*sniff*...

There's just one thing I want to know about Metroid Prime... Will the wall jump be in it? That was one of the coolest moves in Super Metroid, and it let you get Missile upgrades and new weapons and all sorts of stuff before you're supposed to, if you're good at it (and you know about it). If it is in Metroid Prime, then there's is absolutely no way anyone could possibly call it a FPS. Bouncing up a shaft, wall to wall (or just up one wall, if you're good), is something that generally isn't in FPS games... One thing I was kind of worried about, though, was the matter of ammo. It turns out I was worried over nothing, however, because you have unlimited ammo for your beam weapons (as said above). I am so happy about that! If you did have ammo for your beam weapons, that would limit the gameplay a lot, in my oppinion... I remember busting into a room in Super Metroid, full of enemies, and just blasting them all to heck... Without having to care about conserving ammo... That, I think, is one of the best things in a Metroid game. Being able to totally trash a room full of enemies, and not have to care at all about having enough ammo left for the next room. One thing I'm still hoping they bring back from the first three games, though, is tons of secrets. I remember spending hours and hours searching for those last few Missile upgrades in Super Metroid... Searching every last inch of the game with the X-Ray Scope, Bombs/Power Bombs, and whatever beam weapon I happened to have on... Me and two of my brothers each had a saved game on it, and whenever one of us would find a new secret, the other two would go and get it too. that was really fun, even if it did take a lot of patients sometimes, because we'd kind of compete to find the most secrets. I'm not even sure if we ever did find all of the stuff or not, actually. I don't remember ever seeing "100% complete" or whatever it says in the ending, so there may still be stuff we never found...

What makes you think Ganon will be in this Zelda game? Nothing has been mentioned about Ganon so far... But if the plot has something to do with the Triforce, Ganon will probably be in it... But nothing has been said about the Triforce, either, so we just don't know yet. Oh, and Ganon is in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link... kind of... The game over screen has a picture of him, and says "Game Over Return of Ganon." Zelda II is when the name changed from "Gannon" to "Ganon." Take a look:

Nope, you just pay the amount that you want the money order for, plus the charge for the money order itself, and then when they get it they take it to the post office and they get the money for it there. Your credit card and bank acount have nothing to do with the money order.

I don't remember where I got it, it was a long time ago. I wouldn't think it'd be that hard to find a remixed version of the Dark World theme, though.
-
I wouldn't say hours... Probably the longest it took me to find an item once I knew it was there (by using the Itemfinder), was maybe about half an hour. And that was only one time, over by the exit to Mt. Moon. If you use the Itemfinder and it indicates there's an item nearby, just walk around the area pressing A. Take a step, press A, take another step, press A, and so on. Use the Itemfinder every few steps to make sure you aren't moving away from the item, also. (If it doesn't make the noise, then you know you've gone too far). Usually it won't take that long to find it. Some, though, seem harder than others, so just be patient.

Yes, he does kind of sound like a pyscho while using it, doesn't he, LOL... Well, I guess it sounds pretty much like the yell from OOT and MM, just longer, since the Spin Attack is going longer... Are you kidding?! Am I up for it?! Of course I am! I totally love the Dark World theme, a remixed version would be so cool!!! ...Not for the overworld (you gotta have the classic Zelda theme), but you could most likely fit it somewhere (especially if there's something like the Dark World in this game)... I've heard a remix of it on an mp3, and it sounded really good. Another good one would be the Hyrule Castle theme, another one that I've heard a remixed mp3 of. I also can't wait to hear the music in this game. I've bought the OOT soundtrack, and I'd like the MM soundtrack, so you can tell I really like the Zelda music (and a lot of other game music, too, actually). You know what would be kind of cool? If they put in a code or something that changed the overworld music to the original Zelda theme, from the original The Legend of Zelda. I think that would be a fun little trick.

YES! NO MONTHLY FEE!!!!! I am so happy about this!!! I was going to have to get it for the PC anyway (no PS2), but this makes it even better! Oh, and I had heard that PS2 and PC users were going to be able to interact... Why wouldn't they be able to, anyway? The character information and everything is stored on their servers, you're just using a different kind of machine to access it...

I won't talk about the GCN Zelda game here, because I've already talked about it in the E3 thread in the Zelda Forum... But I will talk about the other games... First off, Super Mario Sunshine... In my oppinion, this game is looking great... It looks like they've added a lot more gameplay elements to it than I had originally thought, especially with the different uses of the water tank. That extra little boost in your jump, by squirting water down in midair, looks like it will be very useful. It also looks like there will be lots of places to use the Wall Kick, which is my favorite move in Super Mario 64 (I love that maze in Rainbow Ride). For a little while I was afraid that this game would be really similiar to Super Mario 64, but it's looking like it will be different enough that it won't be practically the same thing, while remaining close enough to have that special "Mario game feel" to it. ...One thing I just can't get used to, though, is Mario's short-sleave shirt... It just doesn't look right... :twitch: Next up, Star Fox Adventures... Hopefully it won't be delayed again, LOL... This game just keeps looking better and better everytime I see it! I know graphics don't really matter all that much, but dang! Those fur effects are so dang good! (Oh, and the last I heard, it was going to be real time, not just it cut-scenes). As for the rest of the game, it's also looking good. This is actually something I've wanted for awhile now... A mix between a Zelda type game, and a Star Fox type game... I've played Star Fox 64, and I liked it, but a whole game of the space shooter missions is too much for me. A good adventure/RPG game with space shooter levels mixed in would be perfect, and that's what this game is! I'm looking forward to it a lot, if not as much as Zelda, Mario, and Metroid... Last but hopefully not least, Wario World... Although I haven't played the Game Boy games much, I kind of got the feel of them... I played Wario Land II some, and it was fun. A little too easy, in my oppinion, but fun. If this game is like a 3D version of the Game Boy games, I'll most likely enjoy it. From the trailer it looked a lot like the game Boy games in 3D, so I don't think it's going to be too different, but we'll just have to wait and see. The graphics looked nice and smooth, just like Super Mario Sunshine, and the animation was just as good. It looked like there were large indoor areas, which I like, and also large outdoor areas, which are even better! Exploring is one of my favorite parts in 3D platformers, so I really like huge areas to wander around in. Also, it looked like there was a wide variety of moves, such as spinning an enemy around by its feet, into other enemies. I've always wanted to do that, LOL.
Originally posted by Crazy White Boy Oh yeah, and that spin attack looks wicked. I bet it drains some kind of health though. Something like that can't be free.
I don't think they'd have it take Hearts... I'm pretty sure there's never been an attack in a Zelda game that takes life, and I don't think they'd start now... I'm guessing it probably takes around ten seconds to charge up, and uses half of your magic meter, though. Hmm... yes, I think that this information does point to another prequel... Either that, or they've totally disregarded the storyline of the other games... If it's a prequel to Ocarina of Time, though, it means he's still living in Kokiri Forest (and he'd be under ten years old), so that doesn't sound very likely. ...I really have no idea where this game could be set in the timeline, if not before Ocarina of Time, though... I really hope that it fits in with the other games somehow, and it's not just kind of there and doesn't relate to the other games at all. About the cel shaded graphics... I really don't see why the graphics matter that much... I mean, if a game plays well and has a good storyline, do the graphics really matter more than that? I myself don't judge a game by its graphics; I wait to play it before I say it's good/bad, and I judge it on how fun it is. Think of this: Take your favorite game, and imagine it having cel shaded graphics... Would you still like that game? I'd bet that you would, despite the graphics, because it's a fun game to play. My point is, the graphics aren't the most important part of a game; It's how much fun you have with a game that matters most... So I'd suggest playing this game first, before dismissing it because of its cel shaded graphics.
Originally posted by James for all you Zelda freaks.
Thanks for the compliment. :toothy: ...The thing is, I've already seen all of those screen shots and more... Without the stamp on them... Go to http://www.nintendo.com/e32k2/index.jsp, and there's a bunch of information on both the GCN and GBA Zelda games (and lots of other games, too). There's screen shots (that aren't stamped, like those others in James' post), and a movie for both of them, too. I just spent about two and a half hours downloading stuff from the E3 section on www.nintendo.com... And yes, the animation is very smooth. I'm totally loving the cel-shaded graphics now, even though I didn't like them quite as much as the realistic graphics, before. Infact, I think I like them a little more, now... It kind of looks like the old art from Zelda and Zelda II on the NES... Oh, and one other thing... That Spin Attack was totally awsome!!! Forget Omnislash (Final Fantasy VII), that Spin Attack is now my favorite sword attack in any video game! I can't wait to use it! My favorite screen shot:

You know, you could just use a money order... (Almost everyone on eBay seems to accept money orders). Then their credit card wouldn't have anything to do with the purchase, you'd just go down to the post office or wherever and get a money order for the amount that you want. Then you just have to fill in his/her name and address, and the same for you. Then you just mail it to the person as payment. The only information he/she will get is your name and address, and I don't think anyone is going to come after you... I've used money orders as payment a few times, and everything has always gone smoothly.

If you played through OOT and didn't find out that Link isn't a Kokiri, you must not have been paying very much attention... The Young Deku Tree tells you that Link is actually a Hylian, after you beat the forest Temple. He also tells you that Link's mother brought him to the Forest during a great war, and left him in the care of the Great Deku Tree, in order to keep him safe. Since you just posted a help thread about the Forest Temple, so I'm assuming that you're in the Forest Tempe, you'll be able to hear this for yourself soon enough. If this is your first time through OOT, then you wouldn't know that Link isn't a Kokiri. You first find out from the Young Deku Tree, who you meet after beating the forest Temple.

Well, the Links in that screen shot sure don't look like the Link in A Link to the Past... I hope that's not how Link is going to look, I liked how he looked in A Link to the Past. He seems too big in that screen shot... He should take up the same amount of space as one of those blocks... And could you post a link or something so I could see the other screen shots?

What, you need 3D graphics in order to fully enjoy a Final Fantasy game? FFV and FFVI are considered two of the best FF games by lots of people, right up there with FFVII. FFVI is actually my favorite in the series. Believe me, the graphics don't matter. It's the story and gameplay and character development and all sorts of things that make FFIV, FFV, and FFVI so great. FFIV was also the first FF game to introduce the Active Time Battle system, which was used in every FF game after it until FFX. If you get FFVI and/or FF Anthology, I can guarantee that you'll like them if not love them. I haven't heard anyone say that they didn't like FFIV, FFV, or FFVI, I don't think. I'm not asking for proof, since there most likely isn't any... What I want to know is why you're so sure that FFX and FFXI will be released on the GCN...

Do you know if it's their phone or yours? If you have more than one phone in the house, you might try them. Or maybe try calling from someone elses house... Is there an e-mail address you could contact Nintendo of Australia at? If so, you could try e-mailing them.

It would easier to help if you told me where exactly you're stuck in the Forest Temple... It is a bit complicated, and I'd rather not write a whole walkthrough for it right now...
Originally posted by Majora's Mask As James once said about a handhled Mario-64 "It's orgasmic..."
I think it went more like "The idea of Super Mario 64 on a handheld is simply orgasm inducing." ...But, um, yeah... Well, I heard about the price drop and the GCN Zelda info yesterday on www.nintendo.com, but this new GBA Zelda is news to me. Personally, I'd love a cooperative Zelda game, as long as there's still a one-player mode. A Zelda: A Link to the Past remake would be really cool, as long as they don't change anything (except for the cooperative mode, of course). I'd want it exactly the same as the SNES game, right down to the sound effect for tapping a wall with your sword... I'm very eager to see how this cooperative mode will be used, though... There are just so many possibilities... *walks off to ponder the endless possibilities of a two-player Zelda game* Other than the Zelda games, I think the game I'm most eager to see/hear about at E3 is Metroid Prime. I mean, there hasn't been a Metroid game for a long time, since Super Metroid on the SNES. I'm really eager to see how it translates to a first person shooter, from a third person, side-scrolling shooter. That, and I'm also eager to hear more about Metroid IV, which also can't be forgotten. One Metroid game is good, but two is better. :) As for Super Mario Sunshine, I'm looking forward to finally seeing it in action. Hopefully it won't be really similiar to Super Mario 64 (I don't think it will, though, from what I've heard), but I don't want it to stray too far, either. I'm just going to have to wait and see, but from what I've heard I think I'm going to buy it come this August. As for Mario Kart on the GCN, it could be very good. At the same time, though, it could just be another kart racing game. Hopefully there'll be online play (they're releasing the 56K Modem and Broadband Adapter this Fall, in the US), which would add something to it. Anothing thing that would be nice is if they put more than four battle arenas in it. Maybe ten, or something like that would be good, but I think four is just too few. Lastly, I can say that I'm not very excited about Mario Party 4... Online play would make it more interesting, but it'll probably just be basically the same as the others on the N64. I own Mario Party 2, and I've had lots of fun with it... But Mario Party 3 seemed to be almost the exact same thing, when I played it... Unless they change it a lot, I'm not going to be buying it. I'll probably rent it, but it wouldn't be worth buying, in my oppinion, unless they change a lot more than they did with Mario Party 3. Oh, and it also said on www.nintendo.com that the price of the WaveBird controller was going to be dropped to $35 when it's released, and the normal controller is going to be dropped to $25. I'm thinking that I might have to get a WaveBird, and just sell one of my normal controllers to my friend or something. The WaveBird controller will be released in the US on June 10, if anyone doesn't already know.
